Jared Leto isn’t totally convinced by Jennifer Lawrence’s lovably clumsy antics at the Academy Awards, specifically the beloved star’s famous spills. On Sunday, cameras caught Jennifer Lawrence falling at the Oscars for the second straight year, this time in her Dior gown while waving to fans on the red carpet. Later, before presenting the Best Actor award, she yelled at someone in the crowd from the stage, saying, “Why are you laughing? What? Is this funny?” Leto, this year’s Best Supporting Actor winner, revealed that she was in fact scolding Jared and his mother and brother, who were laughing in their seats. “She said, ‘What are you laughing at?’ But what she didn’t know was that Ellen was on the side … making, pantomiming [motions like], ‘Don’t fall, don’t fall.'” “My mom and brother are all cracking up … I guess we don’t have any manners. You can take them out of Louisiana but you can’t take Louisiana out of them, right?” When asked about Jen’s infamous tumble that led to the on-stage exchange, Leto said, “You know, I’m starting to wonder if this is a bit of an act.” Last year, she similarly stumbled up the stage in a Dior gown while walking up the stairs to accept the award for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook. Lawrence was the most tweeted-about star during the 2014 Academy Awards, so it certainly doesn’t hurt that her gaffes (and reactions) get a lot of attention. Still, does Leto really think she faked it? She certainly doesn’t try to hide her inner goofball or try to appear polished, but that doesn’t make her inauthentic. The Ellen DeGeneres Oscar selfie ? Totally staged product placement for Samsung. Kind of sad in a sense. So we’ll choose to believe Jen is the real deal: Oscars 2014 GIFs: The Best Moments Open Slideshow 1. Is Miki Howard the real Billie Jean? The 53-year-old singer, actress and mother of Brandon Howard is rumored to be Michael Jackson’s secret baby mama. Organizers of a DNA test claimed on Thursday to have proven that Michael Jackson is the biological father of the younger Howard, a singer born in 1981. Howard has long been rumored to be the child Jackson referenced in the 1982 hit single “Billie Jean” with the famous line: “The kid is not my son.” Mother Miki Howard, was repped by Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson in the 1980s and appeared in the 1993 movie Poetic Justice with Janet Jackson. Brandon does not have a birth certificate, but the genetic mystery reached its bizarre apex on Thursday at a press conference in Beverly Hills. Organized by shipping heir Alki David and streamed live on his FilmOn (dot) com website, the alleged proof of the late King of Pop’s paternity was revealed. Brandon Howard wasn’t present for the hyped announcement but confirmed in a Facebook post that he gave a DNA sample for the test to be conducted. Dr. Joseph Goodman, a Beverly Hills dental surgeon, revealed the results, and claimed he obtained a sample of Michael Jackson’s DNA from a dental device. He purchased the device at auction, he said, and pulled a piece of paper from an envelope saying the test pegged a parental match at “99.9 percent.” “I think we have the proof,” Goodman declared … but is it, really? Brandon Howard DNA Test Reveal Despite Goodman’s claim, the paperwork did not include names of test subjects or the name of a lab, but he said such tests are typically done anonymously. Other information was redacted as a security safeguard, he said. “I’m sure that there will be doubters and there will be haters and there will be those who create, build a controversy, but it is what it is,” David said. Jackson estate lawyer Howard Weitzman didn’t agree. “It sounds like a fraud to me,” Weitzman said later. Brandon Howard has admitted Michael is a big inspiration for his work, but he claimed Thursday he had nothing to do with David’s press conference. “I’ve never self-proclaimed to be Michael Jackson’s son,” he said in a Facebook video. “I’m definitely not suing the estate. I’m taken care of very well.” “And also, I make my own cash, OK?” Brandon Howard Speaks on DNA Test Stranger still, a source close to the famous family has professed that it was Joe Jackson, the King of Pop’s pop, who is the actual father of Miki’s baby. “I’ve been hearing for years that Brandon is Joe’s son,” the source said, adding that the family “just doesn’t buy” claims that Michael knocked her up. Confusing the issue more (if that’s possible)? Singer Augie Johnson has declared publicly that he’s B. Howard’s actual biological father, according to a report in the International Business Times . Augie, 65, was a backup singer on Michael Jackson’s 1979 album, Off The Wall , the first of his four monstrously successful solo albums post-Jackson Five. So, now you know … very little for sure.

While the 2014 Academy Awards spent several minutes honoring movie heroes, one real-life hero didn’t get a chance to join them: 5-year-old “Batkid” Miles Scott. Scott, who is in remission from leukemia, made headlines last year when the city of San Francisco shut down to honor him and his ” Batkid ” costume. He been promised a spot in the Oscars show, only to be cut last-minute. Fortunately, he still got to meet a movie superhero in Spider-Man Andrew Garfield. So what went wrong? A spokesperson blamed scheduling conflicts: “Basically, because of the fluid nature of live TV production, ultimately the segment didn’t work.” Garfield, who was listed as one of the Oscars’ presenters, rehearsed with Scott the Saturday before the Academy Awards; he also did not appear Sunday. This prompted speculation that it was the actor who nixed the segment. Not the case. A rep from the Academy issued a statement defending Garfied: “Andrew Garfield understood that his segment had to be omitted, and he drove to Disneyland on Monday to spend time with 5-year-old Miles Scott (Batkid) and his family.” Thursday afternoon, Garfield’s publicist issued a statement as well: “In full collaboration with the Academy and the show writer, Andrew prepared a segment for the Oscars to honor Miles Scott as the true hero that he is.” “At (sic) some point overnight on Saturday/ Sunday morning, it was decided by those running the show that the segment didn’t work in the ceremony.” “They decided to pull it. Andrew and Miles were equally upset.” Batkid Makes Way Through San Francisco “The producers arranged for Miles and his family to visit Disneyland on Monday and Andrew drove down to visit them and to bring Miles a personal gift.” “Andrew did the right thing and anyone saying otherwise is flat out lying,” the statement said, reiterating that The Amazing Spider-Man star didn’t bail. Scott’s mother Natalie lamented the last-minute scratch: “I don’t know if they ran out of time, or if there was something they didn’t like … it got pulled so quickly that we didn’t have a lot of insight into what was going on.” It’s still unclear why the 2014 Academy Awards pulled it. In any case, the heroic Miles Scott finished his cancer treatments last summer, then got a special treat from the Make-A-Wish foundation in November. Dressed as a small Batman, he walked around San Francisco fighting crime in a story that earned national media attention and even a shout-out from the President. In typical fashion, Natalie Scott said her son is taking the Oscar snub very well. Heroically, even. “We told him that it didn’t work out, but we ended up having fun anyway.” Oscars 2014 GIFs: The Best Moments Open Slideshow 1. You would think that here in the 2010s, a.k.a. The Digital Age, enough of these stories would’ve gone viral for people to keep their social media use in check. You would be very, very wrong, but you’d think. Anything you say or do online can and will become social media fodder. At least there’s a possibility of it. This Murphy’s Law of the Internet is undeniable. Time and again, people just don’t get it, though. Whether they’re tonguing the food at the restaurant where they work or having profane thoughts about others, these events inexplicably make their way online. Then other people see them. The rest is history. Here are 13 humans who found out the hard way that posting controversial or just plain stupid things online can cost them their jobs … for better or for worse: 13 Idiots Who Got Fired Because of Social Media Open Slideshow 1. @CarlyCrunkBear Carly “@CarlyCrunkBear” McKinney, whose handle says it all really, was a 10th grade math teacher who often posted images like this on Twitter. The Oscars are great in so many ways, from Ellen DeGeneres’ monologue to John Travolta butchering Idina Menzel’s name , but man can the show drag on. Even Amy Adams was caught checking out her phone at one point. The Academy Award nominee for American Hustle could’ve just been staring at her crotch as the cameras randomly cut to her while Tyler Perry introduced Her . We’re gonna go ahead and say this is phone-checking 101, though: Amy Adams Checks Phone at Oscars It’s not exactly a stretch to say that the show can be a bit of a bore. Sure, you get to see Jennifer Lawrence falling on the red carpet or Ellen being hilarious … but even she had to order pizza for the restless celebrities eventually. You can only fill so much time during a three-hour telecast. That said, there were plenty of great moments that you can check out on YOUR phone or computer right now! This hot pocket campaign with Snoop and Kate Upton would make sense if Kate Upton wasn’t an awkwardly shaped fat girl in training….a model who despite all her fame and success is plus sized…because seeing her have sex with her hot pocket…hits way too close to home…it reminds me of when she’s alone in her apartment and no one is watching all eating her feelings…and the worst thing in all this is that Upton actually begged for the gig and offered to do it for a lifetime supply of the pizza treat…no money…just cheesy meaty goodness…because you know this is how she actually gets off..right? .
The mother of 2-year-old cancer patient Hazel Hammersley playfully posted a sign made of medical tape in the window of her daughter’s hospital room that read “SEND PIZZA.” Never did she expect that someone would photograph the SOS, then post it on Reddit, where users pooled together to grant the request for the toddler and her family. And then some. So overwhelmed was the hospital by random pizza deliveries from across the United States that the family had to politely call off the request for pies! It came as a welcome respite from the toddler’s difficult fight ahead. Hazel, affectionately known as “Hazelnut,” was diagnosed with high-risk, stage 3 neuroblastoma in April and will require 18 months of treatment. Her mother Lauren said the family merely put up the sign to pass the time and try to have some fun and perhaps brighten up a stranger’s day. It ended up making the day for Hazel , as well as a number of other courageous kids battling against all odds at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. Lauren wrote on the family’s blog, Our Little Hazelnut: “We began hearing news that several pizzas were being delivered to the hospital.” “After only a few short hours, we were told that someone had taken a picture on the street of our sign, had posted it to Reddit and it had reached #1!!” “Hazel woke up from her nap to the smell of pizza and was so excited! Several other children and nurses came into the room, with music playing, and had themselves a wonderful Pizza Party.” “We have been absolutely humbled by the outpouring of love and support … and can only hope and pray that this brings awareness to Neuroblastoma and the Childhood Cancer Community.” Well done, Internet. Very well done on this one.
Wade Robson has sent a very clear message to Joe Jackson: Zip it… or else! The choreographer – who has come under fire for accusing Michael Jackson of molestation – sent a cease and desist letter to that family’s patriarch on May 25. It demands that Joe stop slandering Robson (he told TMZ last week that Wade is being paid to lie) or face legal consequences. Writes Robson’s attorney in the document to Jackson: “Your statement is particularly reprehensible in light of the fact that [Wade] has only recently been able to come forward which is so typically characteristic and tragic for so many survivors of sexual abuse… Any trier of fact would conclude your statement was malicious, intended to further injure our client.” Of course, Joe Jackson isn’t the only one who has slammed Robson for his allegation that Michael forced him to perform sex acts and keep quiet. Debbie Lowe, the father of MJ’s children, believes Robson is a liar ; while Tom Meserea – a lawyer who defended The King of Pop in his 2005 molestation case – has also made his opinion quite clear. “This is a pathetic and an obvious grab for publicity and an attempt to put pressure on [Michael Jackson’s] Estate to pay him money,” Meserea says of Robson’s charge. What do you think of Wade Robson’s molestation story? He’s totally lying and just wants money. It’s probably true and MJ should pay. View Poll »
