The Battle Rounds came to a grinding halt Tuesday night, and while we witnessed three battles, a bunch were saved for the dreaded montage. With the Knockouts coming up and the season’s big twist set to switch things up, the show might actually remain exciting all season long. Who would have thought it? Usually, the excitement fizzles out right before the live shows, but time will tell whether the producers messing with the formula will work. Let’s break down the final three battles of the season! Team Kelly: Sarah Grace vs. Erika Zade – “No Roots” Sarah opened up about never having a vocal lesson before, so being in rehearsals was uncharted territory for her. She was receptive to feedback, so that was a huge positive, but she didn’t feel like Alice Merton number would benefit her voice. The same could be said for Erika. The true kicker here was that both women turned in solid performances, and it was difficult to pick between them. Kelly went with Sarah, and nobody voted to steal Erika. Team Blake: Kameron Marlowe vs. Kayley Hill – “Only Wanna Be With You” As this one kicked off, it seemed like Kameron was going to have the edge, but both performers were worthy of being kept in the battle for the recording contract. There were no nerves here, just an excellent performance, and it’s sad that one of them had to go. Kameron won this round, and Kayley was sent home. Team Adam: DeAndre Nico vs. Funsho – “Can You Stand the Rain” The frustrating thing here was that both of the above performers were the worst of the night. There were no harmonies, and it made the overall performance rather weak. Adam opted to stick it out with DeAndre while Blake decided to steal Funsho. It was a dumb move when you consider there were two much better singers sent home. During the dreaded montage, we learned that Claire DeJean defeated Josh Davis to remain on Team Kelly, Kirk Jay beat Caeland Garner to stay on Team Blake, and Kennedy Holmes won over Lela to continue on with Team Jennifer. If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online , the memory of Shannon Beador’s freakout remains burned into your mind. A lot of viewers were taken aback by Shannon’s freakout. But a lot took to Twitter to blast Tamra Judge, feeling that she was way too harsh in response. (Seriously, the feedback was enough that Andy Cohen spoke about how pissed fans were at Tamra) Tamra took to her Bravo blog to explain that she is frustrated with Shannon for not taking responsibility. “The constant negativity was driving me crazy,” Tamra writes. “I was at my breaking point with Shannon.” Tamra continues: “I love my friend dearly, but it wasn’t OK for her to act this way anymore.” Tamra says that it’s Shannon’s fault that she’s not getting along super well with her new castmates. “Gina and Emily had been telling me that Shannon does not give them the time of day,” Tamra reveals. “I tried to explain to them that Shannon is not good with change and doesn’t ask a lot of questions about other people,” Tamra says. Tamra adds: “not even me, her BFF.” “Both the girls told me that I was just making excuses and enabling her,” Tamra writes. “And they didn’t understand why I would do that.” Obviously, Shannon is dealing with a lot, including her at times deeply contentious divorce from David. Tamra says that this is no excuse. “Saying you have too much on your plate to acknowledge somebody on vacation makes no sense,” Tamra writes. She also laments that it is impossible to point out to Shannon when she is not being reasonable. “Here’s the thing,” Tamra says. “It’s really hard for me to tell Shannon when she’s acting out, because all she does is get mad and ices me out.” “So,” Tamra explains. “I just don’t say anything most of the time.” After Shannon blew up at Kelly Dodd, she explained herself at dinner — but that wasn’t the smoothest meal, either. “It really upset me that Shannon would go off on me at the restaurant,” Tamra laments. “I am the one that is always there for her, makes excuses for her behavior, and supports everything she does,” Tamra writes. “Sometimes it’s exhausting! ” “I never told Gina that Shannon was a bad friend,” Tamra insists. “Those were Gina‘s words, not mine.” Like Vicki before her, Shannon has struggled to get along with Gina Kirschenheiter because Gina’s divorce is going so well. “When I didn’t say ‘Yes, Shannon is a good friend’ right away,” Tamra says. “Shannon stormed off, and of course I chased after her.” Though viewers clearly remember Tamra screaming at Shannon, which seemed to escalate the situation, Tamra says she was there to help. “I tried to talk to Shannon about being a more positive person,” Tamra writes. “I really don’t think that Shannon sees how she’s acting,” Tamra says. “But all she wanted to do was attack me.” “Kelly asked me on the raft if Shannon ever calls and asks about Eddie,” Tamra reveals. “And I said …NO! ” Eddie has atrial fibrillation despite being relatively young. This potentially serious heart problem leaves him feeling betrayed by his own body. Tamra strongly resents the suggestion that she is in any way at fault for Shannon’s tensions with her new castmates. “To insinuate that I’m feeding into Emily and Gina having problems with her infuriates me,” Tamra declares. “Take responsibility for your own actions,” she demands of Shannon. “You did this, not me.” “Everyone was coming from a place of concern that night,” Tamra writes. “And I just don’t understand how Shannon can’t see it.” Maybe it was the heat. Maybe it’s that Shannon’s ponytail was way too tight. Tamra suggests that she is done pitying her alleged BFF. “When you continue to complain about the same thing over and over again and do nothing about it, I can’t feel sorry for you anymore,” Tamra declares. “You have choices in life,” Tamra says. “Either you can be happy or you can be miserable.” For most people, emotions are not really a choice, but that’s not how Tamra sees it. “I told Shannon,” she writes. “It’s time for her to flip the switch and be happy.” “The next day we went bobsledding without Shannon,” Tamra shares. Tamra makes it clear that they did this “not because we wanted to, but because she would not return anybody’s phone calls.” “She was icing everybody out,” Tamra laments. Rosie O’Donnell is ready to walk down the aisle again. The long-time comedian confirmed on Monday that she’s engaged to Elizabeth Rooney. Speaking to People Magazine at the 15th-anniversary celebration of her organization, Rosie’s Theater Kids, in New York City, O’Donnell explained that the couple is very happy about its arrangement… … but may not get married any time too soon. “This is a long time in the future. We both decided that that would be best,” O’Donnell told this publication. Describing Rooney, who is only 33 years old, as a “wonderful woman,” the former talk show host revealed the pair has been dating from two different cities since they went public in November 2017. They’ve managed to make the long distance set-up work, however. “She lives in Boston now and I live here in New York. It’s been a long-distance thing,” Rosie said, adding: It’s been great. T he family of the Black man who was killed by a police officer in his own Dallas apartment last month still has plans to sue the city, according to a new report. Botham Jean ’s family announced their intentions earlier this month to sue Dallas for civil rights violations, but the lawsuit was seemingly in limbo last week after Jean’s mother said some questions she had were being answered by officials. Lawyers representing the family revealed details of the pending lawsuit on Monday, showing exactly what Jean’s parents were hoping to accomplish with it. “Jean’s parents say they want their lawsuit to not just focus on how their son died, but to change how police officers are trained about when to fire their weapons,” the Dallas Morning News reported Monday afternoon. Johnson, who was appointed DA nearly two years ago, was running to be elected to the post next month and has at times seemed more concerned with her campaign than Jean’s killing. “The Jeans also fault [Dallas Police Chief U. Reneé] Hall for turning over the case to the Rangers and say Dallas police should have kept investigating,” Dallas Morning News also reported. “Hall has said she turned over the case in an effort to be more transparent.” However, Hall, at one point in the weeks after the shooting, told reporters that she was “prohibited” from firing Amber Guyger , the officer who killed Jean. Less than a week later, Guyger was fired. There’s also the issue of the criminal charge Guyger was facing. She was charged with manslaughter , but that could be changed to murder depending on what a grand jury decides. However, it was unclear when, or if, a grand jury would ever convene. It’s been nearly seven weeks since Guyger entered Jean’s apartment and killed him on Sept. 6, implausibly confusing her rental unit for his and purportedly suspecting he was an intruder in her home. Local law enforcement has been accused of helping Guyger coverup her crime , allowing her to avoid criminal charges and remain free nearly three days following the shooting before she turned herself in and was arrested. She was finally fired nearly three weeks after she killed Jean. Her toxicology report has also not been released even though she reportedly submitted to a test the night of the shooting.
