Student Safety In Question After Nooses Were Found On Alabama College Campus

T here are some concerns about the safety of Black students at the University of South Alabama after nooses were discovered Tuesday (September 25) hanging from a tree on campus. See Also: Michigan State University Has A Strange Response To A Racist Student The university released a statement on Wednesday notifying the college community that the campus police identified the student responsible for the incident. “A University of South Alabama student has been interimly suspended and banned from campus, pending a formal hearing, after confessing to an incident discovered last night outside the campus dining hall. USA Police have determined the student acted alone in hanging a bicycle and two nooses in a tree,” the statement said. Free counseling was offered to students, but it’s unclear what steps the university will take to ensure student safety. The local NAACP chapter noted in its statement that Mobile, where the campus is located, was the site of the last documented Ku Klux Klan lynching. “This is a rare and isolated incident, and from a safety standpoint the student responsible has been suspended and barred from campus until a formal disciplinary hearing can be held,” the university’s spokesman Bob Lowry told NewsOne . Prior to the president’s statement, the Mobile County chapter of the NAACP criticized the university for not immediately addressing the situation. “This is a circumstance that many of us feel needs immediate attention considering America’s history and Mobile’s history,” a statement from Jordan Harris , president of the chapter, said. Harris pointed out that members of the KKK were responsible for hanging 19-year-old Michael Donald in 1981 from a tree in Mobile. A cafeteria worker was also fired after posting an offensive tweet from the university’s dining hall account. “The rope outside of the caf last night was just a sign that our food is KILLER! Come get some fried chicken and tell us any different,” the tweet said. The worker was an employee of Aramark, which manages the dining facility, the university stated. Frankie Conti: Just Who is Kendra Wilkinson’s New Man?

Kendra Wilkinson has reportedly found the new d-ck for which she’s been searching. About five months after filing for divorce from Hank Baskett , the former Playmate has reportedly gotten involved with some new guy named Frankie Conti. He’s the first person she’s dated since being single again, prompting many fans to ask the following: Is this relationship serious? Or is this merely a post-split rebound type of situation? Conti, according to E! News, a “young marketing manager” who met Wilkinson at a charity golf tournament in July. The two new lovers allegedly “hit it off immediately,” a source tells the aforementioned outlet. This same source says the So far, the relationship is “very new and casual, but they have been spending time together and going on dates recently.” Instagram followers are wondering just how casual it actually is, however, based on Kendra’s caption to the photos above and below. Posted six days ago, it reads: Today was a good day. Truly smiled. Hope you all had a good day too. Love you. Did she just drop the L Bomb in a message to Conti? Or is she addressing her supporters with these encouraging and positive words? Us Weekly, meanwhile, also writes that Kendra is getting it on these days with Conti, quoting an insider of its own who has the following to say about the romance: “They have been hanging out and spending time with each other. Kendra likes Frank because he is attentive and listens to her. It’s been refreshing to have someone light and fun in her life.” Taken off his Facebook page, here is a photo of Frankie Conti: Kendra, for her part, has been very open since her divorce. She’s made it clear via a number of social media posts that she’s a tad sad and a little bit lost . “Been trying to take care of myself lately,” she told her followers this summer, admitting that her “mental, emotional and physical well being” could all use some assistance. She also clarified on numerous occasions, though, that her two kids always “come first” and that she’s grateful she’s been able to spend so much time with them of late. The 33-year-old Girls Next Door alum split from her husband of nearly nine years earlier this year because the stars were unable to fully repair their relationship after Baskett admitted to an affair back in 2014. It was an unusual affair. It involved Baskett getting a hand job from a transgender model he briefly met in a hotel room after he stopped by there to buy some marijuana. The couple’s struggles were featured on multiple seasons of the reality show Kendra On Top and the exes share 8-year-old son Hank IV and 4-year-old daughter Alijah. The mother of two got candid in August about her post-divorce problems, as documented below. “Just when I think I’m healed, I start to cry. Sorry I’m not a perfect person. I’m really sorry,” she explained on Instagram. Click around here to see what else she had to say at the time: View Slideshow: Kendra Wilkinson Bawls Over Divorce, Cries Out: I’m Not Perfect, Okay?!?

American Horror Story Recap: Who Survived the Outpost 3 Bloodbath?

American Horror Story: Apocalypse got off to one of the best starts in franchise history, but it all fell apart with a weak second episode.  American Horror Story Season 8 Episode 3 picked up the pace with Michael trying to establish who would be making their way to the elusive Sanctuary.  During a conversation with Mallory, she opened up about feeling like there’s something inside of her trying to claw its way out.  That’s when she unleashed some sort of power that could have brought a fiery end to Michael if he was a human.  What this revealed was that Mallory could be a witch and that Michael was scared of her. He quickly got to work to plead for answers to the person who controls him.  Things got downright weird when we learned that Miriam was having memories of raising a young blonde boy, but she had no idea why.  Desperate for a place in this safe haven, Miriam and Venable made a plan to kill everyone in Outpost 3 meaning they would absolutely have to go to this new place.  Their plan picked up steam when a bunch of flawless apples was delivered by The Cooperative, and the duo got to work in putting snake venom into them.  Unbeknownst to the pair, Coco’s ex actually survived the end of the world and was hiding under the carriage.  He later murdered one of their henchmen to make his way inside to find Coco to get revenge on her.  In a surprising twist, Brock murdered Coco at a Halloween party while posing as Michael.  Venable’s plan worked, and everyone else died as a result of the poisonous apple, but not all of them stayed dead.  Venable and Miriam went on a mission to take down Michael for good, but we learned that Miriam was actually crafted as Constance Langdon, and he gave her the memories she was looking for.  Miriam/Constance then turned the gun on Venable, ending her reign of terror once and for all.  Downstairs, Cordelia, Myrtle, and Madison appeared and saved Coco, Mallory, and Dinah from a certain death.  Oh yes, the witches are back, and it seems like there are more of them than ever, you guys.  “Surprise bitch, bet you thought you’d seen the last of me,” Madison said to Mallory, confirming they had a history.  What the heck is going on?  So. Many. Twists.  And we have to wait another week to find out how all of this is going to play out.  What did you think of the episode?  Hit the comments below.  View Slideshow: Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: It’s About to Go DOWN in Season 15

Cheyenne Floyd: Teen Mom Fans Will Love Me Even Though I’m a Fraud!

Cheyenne Floyd is just weeks away from turning 26, which puts her on par with a number of Teen Mom OG stars. Unlike her new co-stars, however, Cheyenne did not actually become a mother as a teenager. She became a mother when she was … 23. Now, she is addressing the backlash about that, and explaining why fans will agree that Cheyenne belongs on the show . Speaking to Us Weekly , Cheyenne Floyd says that part of the reason that people are bristling at her casting is simple semantics. “I think that a lot of people are stuck on the word,” Cheyenne laments. That word, of course, being teen . She’s a grown woman who was never a teenage parent who is now getting paid a lot of money to appear on Teen Mom OG . Cheyenne admits that, but says: “and at the end of the day I’m still young mom.” “I still have the same struggles,” Cheyenne explains. “And I’m still learning just like everyone else.” “I don’t think 23 is the ideal age to have a baby,” Cheyenne points out. It very rarely is. Your body might be at its healthiest, but even if you’re mega-rich, you’re still young and living your life. Also, your brain isn’t quite done maturing. “She was unplanned,” Cheyenne says of her young daughter. “So in other ways, other than me not being a teen, I have different things that you can relate.” Most viewers of Teen Mom OG are not, themselves, teenage mothers and never were. “So instead of me screaming all day long that I’m not a teen mom,” Cheyenne concludes. “I’d rather just talk about things that I am.” Cheyenne shares that fans and viewers can expect to learn a lot about her and her baby daddy, Cory Wharton. “Prior to doing Teen Mom , we kept everything to ourselves as far as what happened,” Cheyenne says. “So it’s going to be really interesting to see what the viewers think after they find out.” That … will depend upon what viewers find out, we suppose. “We’re good,” Cheyenne says of their relationship as co-parents. “We’re best friends.” “We work together with everything and put everything into Ryder,” she adds. “So we have a good relationship.” “They have a different kind review about Cory,” she says of doubtful fans. “And,” Cheyenne continues. “They haven’t seen me on TV since I did The Challenge and I literally had the baby right after.” Cheyenne is definitely not overexposed, that’s true. “So it will be interesting to see what they think about is his parents,” she says. “And,” Cheyenne concludes. “We’re excited to show our healthy coparenting relationship.” Cheyenne is controversial for more than just that. See, people accused her of racism due to some old tweets that resurfaced when her casting news broke. Tweets attributed to Cheyenne expressed a desire to kill white people and particularly to kill white babies, and also said something about being a nazi. While anti-white sentiments aren’t necessarily racism (in that they’re not systemic and function as empty words, which is not true for genuine racism), those tweets were disturbing. Cheyenne promises that she’s not racist and says that she shared the Twitter account with others. More importantly, the heinous tweets were made years ago. Will she be able to overcome this baggage and endear herself to fans? We’ll find out in October. View Slideshow: Teen Mom OGs Dish on Newbies: What Do They Think of Bristol and Cheyenne?

Josephine Skriver Ass Shot of the Day

The most disappointing thing about these Josephine Skriver or THIS Josephine Skriver picture is that she posted it to promote Football, or her favorite team, the Raiders, who I guess she’s getting paid to promote, because she’s from Europe, what the fuck business does she have being a fan of a footaball team, unless it’s just for their colors, who fucking knows, but it’s been something I’ve seen on her feed for over a year, and something that I saw this weekend when she posted it, that I even screenshotted because I was like “I’ll post that on Monday”….to which I forgot to post on Monday, because ultimately there are too many sluts getting naked for likes that I can’t keep track of them all, and really I find the whole thing irritating, like when you work in an ice cream shop and can’t eat ice cream, staring at this shit all day doesn’t negatively affect me or turn me gay, but it irritates me how boring it may be… What isn’t boring is the storyline I’ve written from this one who was created in a lab by her biologist homosexual father and his lesbian donor egg…probably funded by the evil Empire she works for and who pays her bonus for posts on social media like this… Naughty, slutty, but she’s doing it for her team bro… JOIN THE NEWSLETTER YOU ASSHOLES! Common Reveals How He Broke His Mother’s Rules To Pursue Music | Extra Butter

Sometimes you just gotta break the rules. That’s the main premise in Smallfoot a movie about a Yeti society that’s ran using some archaic laws set in stone that everyone must live by. On the outside, the rules appear to work, but in reality, they are all a bunch of bs that gets exposed when a yeti named Migo, stumbles on to a human being that this movie calls a small foot. Starring Common, Channing Tatum, Yara Shahidi, Gina Rodriguez, Lebron James,  and Zendaya this movie addresses some serious issues about inclusion, accepting each other’s differences and being open to change. On this episode of Extra Butter w/ Xilla Valentine , I go behind the scenes of Warner Bros new movie Smallfoot hitting theaters everywhere this Friday to find out how Common and Channing broke rules to become successful, how the protection Yara Shahidi and Gina Rodriguez affects them, as well as talk about the booty of a yak. While this kid’s movie is very “woke” it’s also very silly as Channing Tatum points out during our conversation, saying, “We are touching and tackling some very current stuff but it’s also really hilarious to be talking about the sky snail and the great butt of the sky yak! I think it’s a palatable way for kids to be brought into something that’s a little deeper and still be able to enjoy it so it’s not some heavy thing that we have to fear.” Gina Rodriguez gives voice to a yeti named Kolka who is a very curious science nerd that isn’t afraid to seek more than just what’s set in the stones the yetis live by. She loved the message of the film and revealed that is one of the reasons she took this role. “Ideally, you’re working on projects you feel confident about and you stand next to and you love the message and I think that was a huge draw for me,” Gina revealed. Smallfoot really kicks into another level with Migo and his group of banishes yetis venture out into the human world to find the truth about the legend of the small foot. That goes against all the rules but it was a necessary risk that he had to take to prove The Stonekeeper, played by Common wrong. I asked Common to reflect on a time when he had to break to rules and he revealed it was when his mother told him to choose school over music. I had to break the rules to pursue my music career, Common said. Adding, “She meant well, in the same way, The Stonekeeper does, this is what I know to be right, this will protect you, stay in school that’s the safe way to do it. Although it wasn’t a written rule I had to break that rule to go after my dream.” Overall Smallfoot is a very fun kids film that is filled with a ton of messages perfect for the time we live in, with a lot of light moments kids will enjoy. The movie hits theaters everywhere, Friday, September 28th.

Bill Cosby Doesn’t Deserve Your Sadness

See the rest here:

Source: MARK MAKELA / Getty T ake a minute to absorb that truth for a minute: Bill Cosby doesn’t deserve your sadness. It’s a bit jarring, admittedly, to see that Bill Cosby is actually going to spend time behind bars. There are a few reasons for the surrealism of it all. First, the obvious: Bill Cosby was one of America’s most beloved figures for decades. We grew up with him and seeing him go to jail is something we never thought we’d see when we were kids. Second, there’s the fact that these allegations of sexual assault have followed Cosby for so long that it seemed like he’d never actually go to jail. It’s that second point that you need to remember. Because no matter your affinity for Cosby and his cultural contributions over the decades, he is still a man who has been accused of dozens of instances of sexual assault and, as of today, is a convicted sex offender headed to prison. So, as disorienting as it is to see Cosby in handcuffs, just remember that his confirmed and alleged victims say they have experienced worse. Save your compassion for those women. From Bill Cosby to Harvey Weinstein. https://t.co/KIfMdREA8V — NewsOne (@newsone) September 24, 2018 Don’t get me wrong: this whole situation is a tragedy. It’s a tragedy for sexual assault survivors who had to wear their pain in secret, sure that no matter what they said, the man who assaulted them would never face any punishment. It’s a tragedy for the women whose lives and careers were ruined because of the damage — physical, emotional, professional and otherwise — Cosby caused them. It’s a tragedy for a society that allows a culture in which someone like Cosby is able to thrive while having committed the crimes he’s been convicted of today. Yes, this is a tragedy. But not for Cosby. There’s another reason not to feel any sadness for Cosby: He wouldn’t feel any for you if you were on the wrong end of handcuffs like he was today, no matter the reason you were in cuffs in the first place. Bill Cosby has spent most of the 21st century chastising the most vulnerable Black Americans among us. His infamous 2004 “ Pound Cake speech ” for the NAACP  — full of false information and fake news about things like unemployment, dropout rates, incarceration rates and single parenthood — was the rallying cry for respectability politics. Cosby loved picking on poor Black people for the way they made him look in front of white people. His chiding of Black Americans, demanding that they pull their pants up, became inextricably linked to his legacy. And now, the same man who wagged his finger at incarcerated people will now spend his next few years surrounded by them. Meet the Black prosecutor who made sure time was up on #BillCosby : https://t.co/pgaIHd4ES7 pic.twitter.com/GifaPWOR9k — NewsOne (@newsone) April 30, 2018 It’s important to remember that Cosby never sagged his pants. He never said the “N” word. He came from a two-parent household. He’s well-educated. And he’s a jailed sexual assaulter. I’d like to think that we can learn lessons from all of this. That this is the final nail in the coffin for respectability politics. That those cell doors closing in front of Cosby also signal the closure of ideas that involve Black people needing to dress a certain way to avoid jail or that “Black on Black” crime is a reflection of anything more than proximity. That the era of “pull your pants up” pseudo-activism is replaced by a culture of compassion where we try to empathize for those in jail or unfortunate life situations because we understand the larger factors that put those people in those positions. The ideas that Cosby have championed should go away with him. I also hope that we learn that this wasn’t a victory for victims of sexual assault; that needing dozens of accusations of sexual assault and two trials before sending a man in his 80s to jail decades after he’s allegedly committed the acts isn’t a blueprint for true justice. Victory isn’t eventual jail for sexual assault. Victory is a society that doesn’t allow people to feel like they can commit acts of sexual violence without recourse in the first place. Victory isn’t jail. Victory is sexual assault not happening in the first place. So pardon me if I don’t feel any sadness for Bill Cosby. Excuse me if I don’t have any remorse for the perpetrator of heinous crimes. Bill Cosby doesn’t deserve your tears. He never will.
