Source: TORU YAMANAKA / Getty Back in July, a trailer for Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! was released, which is the twentieth film in the Pokémon series. The film is said to be a retelling of the Indigo League saga that stems from the television show, marking the 20th anniversary of the series, but there’s a big change that has audiences in the theater completely freaking out. For everyone who follows the series (or watched it as a child), it’s known that–for the most part–the Pokémon species don’t speak English, or any real language beside just saying their name over and over. That changes in this new film, in a *spoiler alert* scene when Ash is dying, Pikachu speaks a full sentence of English out of nowhere, and people cannot contain their shock and disappointment. After the Cavaliers game last night, this picture seems to be a not-so-subtle shot at fans of the Knicks and their big man Enes Kanter, after the Cavs came back and outscored the Knicks 43–25 in the fourth quarter to beat the New Yorkers 104–101 at Madison Square Garden on Monday night. LeBron finished the night with 23 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds. After the game, Kanter told reporters, “I don’t care … what you call yourself. King, Queen, Princess, whatever you are. Her story is one we’ve heard before, she’s trying to start over. But there’s more… Mo and her hubby link up with Papoose and Remy Ma for a double date, of course! They chat over lunch about balancing parent life with work life, and according to Lil’ Mo and her husband–lots of thots looking for attention. Apparently, some woman accused Karl of cheating on Mo with her. This was years ago, though. Um…you know where this is going, right? Translation: This storyline fin to be dramaful (yes, dramaful) af because that woman or other women are probably about to rise up like zombies in the “Thriller” video with new or more cheating accusations. Anais links with Marcus to talk about her ill-fated discussion with Ashley (Marcus’ girl). Anais kept calling Ashley a b–ch, etc. Problem is, Ashley is also Marcus business partner so Anais better figure out how to get professional. Marcus sticks up for his girl by telling Anais to stop calling his girl names. James is coming on so strong that Sophia asks if Mariah is his girl. Then Bri mentions that time not long ago when Bianca threw a shoe at her. Dreamdoll gets the bright idea to chat with Bianca and get the apology she deserves, and to figure out why Bianca doesn’t like Bri. via GIPHY This conversation obviously goes where you’d think. For some reason, this triggers Mariah enough to sucker slap Sophia (obviously her rage is misguided) and after the security breaks it up, Mariah changes the lyrics to “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” to add “b–ch got punched right in her eye.” You know the scene, you all saw it in the Love and Hip-Hop New York super trailer. James then tries to deflect from his jacked up behavior by claiming to be turned off by Mariahlynn’s bad behavior. He says he can’t have a woman acting like this. He’s basically Cisco 2.0. After years of rumors followed the comedian, five women have come forward and accused Louis C.K. of sexual harassment . Now that these rumors have become outspoken allegations, and now that he’s getting slammed by comedians and fans alike , Louis C.K. is making a statement. And he’s … admitting to it. To all of it. Louis C.K.’s statement gets right to the point: “I want to address the stories told to The New York Times by five women named Abby, Rebecca, Dana, Julia who felt able to name themselves and one who did not.” Here it comes: “These stories are true.” We’ve all wondered what’s must have been going through his mind as he pulled out his penis in front of various women. (We no longer have to write “allegedly” for him!) Louis C.K. provides a little insight: “At the time, I said to myself that what I did was O.K. because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true.” That … sounds like some bizarre mental gymnastics were going on in his mind to excuse his behavior. The sort of excuse that only he himself could buy. “But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them.” Power can mean professional authority. It can mean celebrity status. It can even mean physical strength and size. Remember, folks: the cashier or barista smiles at you because it’s literally part of her job, not because she wants to see your genitals. “The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly. I have been remorseful of my actions. And I’ve tried to learn from them. And run from them. Now I’m aware of the extent of the impact of my actions.” Louis C.K.’s statement continues: “I learned yesterday the extent to which I left these women who admired me feeling badly about themselves and cautious around other men who would never have put them in that position.” One of those women said that the experience discouraged her from pursuing her career in comedy. “I also took advantage of the fact that I was widely admired in my and their community, which disabled them from sharing their story and brought hardship to them when they tried because people who look up to me didn’t want to hear it.” That “widely admired” bit sounds a little like self-praise, which is not tonally appropriate … but maybe he’s just trying to make sure that people understand that he knows that it was wrong and why? “I didn’t think that I was doing any of that because my position allowed me not to think about it.” A lot of men never think about the damage that they do. “There is nothing about this that I forgive myself for. And I have to reconcile it with who I am. Which is nothing compared to the task I left them with.” That’s proper. “I wish I had reacted to their admiration of me by being a good example to them as a man and given them some guidance as a comedian, including because I admired their work.” “The hardest regret to live with is what you’ve done to hurt someone else.” Well, maybe his hardest regret. “And I can hardly wrap my head around the scope of hurt I brought on them.” Louis C.K.’s actions are now impacting more than just himself and these women. Remember, HBO gave him the axe. “I’d be remiss to exclude the hurt that I’ve brought on people who I work with and have worked with who’s professional and personal lives have been impacted by all of this, including projects currently in production: the cast and crew of Better Things, Baskets, The Cops, One Mississippi, and I Love You, Daddy.” That’s a lot of people screwed over, professionally, because Louis C.K. couldn’t keep it in his pants (literally). “I deeply regret that this has brought negative attention to my manager Dave Becky who only tried to mediate a situation that I caused.” If you don’t want to negatively impact the people who consider it their job to clean up your messes, maybe don’t make messes. (Some have pointed out that Louis C.K.’s wealth is in the 8 digits, and that he mgiht want to cut some checks to the people whom he’s left hanging) “I’ve brought anguish and hardship to the people at FX who have given me so much The Orchard who took a chance on my movie. and every other entity that has bet on me through the years.” We cannot imagine how his family is feeling right now. “I’ve brought pain to my family, my friends, my children and their mother.” Louis C.K. finishes off his statement with this: “I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen. Thank you for reading.” It’s good that he’s admitting this, and a refreshing change from endless denials in Hollywood , but we’d like to point out a couple of things: One: if there was a actual, explicit apology in this, we don’t think that we saw it. Maybe it’s implied , but that’s actually not how apologies work. You have to say them. Two: some have pointed out that Louis C.K. could have spoken out years ago when Gawker (before the site was destroyed by a vengeful, Trump-supporting billionaire) first talked about these rumors. Or in the summer of 2016, when Roseanne Barr spoke about it . It almost seems, to some, that Louis C.K. was less concerned about how his actions impacted these women … and was only moved to speak up because it’s now hurting his career . That’s a cynical view, but … you can see why people feel that way. Especially people who have their own #MeToo stories and will never trust the people responsible for them. Bill O’Reilly. Sean Hannity. Alex Jones. Derick Dillard. Sure, Jill Duggar’s husband may not have earned a spot on the list of the far-right’s most emotionally unstable mouthpieces just yet, but he’s determined to get there some day. And like any good professional bully, D-Dill has already chosen a sufficiently vulnerable target at which to direct all of his frustrations over his own intellectual shortcomings. Presumably acting on instructions issued to him when Jesus appeared in his Chick-Fil-A Hash Brown Scramble Bowl, Derick has launched a one-man war against his fellow TLC reality star Jazz Jennings. Derick first attacked Jennings in an unprovoked Instagram tirade back in August. Dillard was slammed on Twitter by folks from all walks of life who were put off by the idea of a grown man attacking a teenage girl, but the father or two carried on in his quest to … teach a young girl how hateful the world really is? We’re not really sure what Derick was hoping to accomplish. In fact, we’re guessing Derick couldn’t tell you what Derick was hoping to accomplish. But since his bigotry briefly earned the attention of people who hadn’t thought about the Duggars since Josh was exposed as a molester , Derick is carrying on with his attack. In response to a fan who recently pointed out that many of Dillard’s tweets and blog posts come off as “hateful,” Dillard replied: “I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child.” He added: “It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on tv these days.” Replying to those who have pointed out that Derick appears to be relentlessly harassing a girl he’s never met who did nothing to provoke him, Dillard added: “Never bullied anyone, just said I didn’t agree with what is being propagated on my TV.” You would think he was talking about the fact that there’s a TLC series about a family who harbored a child molester (It’s true ! We looked it up!) but no, Derick is still going in on Jazz. He went on to argue that Jennings is simply too young to make decisions for himself. In fact, he argues that all minors are incapable of making decisions, which is why he doesn’t send his children to school–they might get a head full of ideas and start making choices without his supervision! We wish we were joking: “Jazz is being taken advantage of, as part of a larger agenda,” Derick argues. “I hate seeing him used this way,” he adds. “Is it good for the government to force kids to go to school before they are old enough to decide how they feel about it?” Dontcha see? The guv’mint’s sending kids to school and brainwashing them with Caitlyn Jenner propaganda! And don’t get Derick started on the moon landing! For her part, Jennings has yet to reply to Dillard’s latest bid for attention, which is typically the best way to deal with bullies. Besides, she already said everything she needed to in response to his earlier tweets: “Every day I experience cyber-bullying, but I keep sharing my story. Today was no different,” she wrote. In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein rape accusations that have come to light, more and more people are coming together to share their #MeToo stories … and to name names and try to break the culture of silence that allows sexual predators to operate. Earlier this week, Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick was accused of rape by an actress. Actress Kristina Cohen came forward and named Ed Westwick, accusing him of having raped her in 2014. At the time, Kristina was dating a producer who was friends with Ed Westwick. When they joined him for dinner, she felt uncomfortable when Westwick allegedly suggested that they all have sex. (It’s unclear if he was joking at that time, though sexual predators have been known to use “humor” to get a feel for someone, always with the plausible deniability of “hey, just kidding!” if they get called out on it) Kristina Cohen then describes how she said that she was tired and wanted to leave, but her producer friend wanted to stay for another 20 minutes to be polite, so Ed Westwick suggested that she take a nap in the guest room. Kristina recounts how she woke up with Westwick’s fingers inside of her. She accuses Westwick of holding her down with his weight, grabbing her face and shaking her head, and raping her. She says that the producer whom she was dating blamed her and also warned her against speaking out, both shaming and silencing her. If you find that story as disturbing as we do, you should be happy to know that police are investigating Ed Westwick for rape . Aurelie Wynn has found the courage to share her #MeToo story … and you’ll find her story familiar and disturbing. “In July 2014, I went through a very similar ordeal with Ed Westwick, I was ubered by Ed to the Glendower Estates where he was renting following an invite from a girl friend of mine who was dating his roommate a cast member on Glee.” The Glee actor involvement? That’s important. We’ll get to that. “We all hung out until 5am, sun was starting to rise since it was summer so we all decided to get a few hours of shut eye since we all had events and things to do the next day and there are plenty of bedrooms.” This is sounding all too familiar. Now, Aurelie skips some details here. The specifics of a sexual assault can be very difficult to write down, especially on social media. We imagine that she intends for us to read between the lines, based upon Kristina Cohen’s account and common sense. If she takes this to police, she’ll have to fill in the blanks. “And like Kristina, I said no and he pushed me face down and was powerless under his weight. I was wearing a one piece bathing suit that he ripped, I was in complete shock, I am also very tiny.” One, this is awful and horrifying. Two, we can confirm that Aurelie is tiny, just based upon her social media photos. She takes selfies with short people and still looks short beside them. She’s very petite. “When it was over I got my cellphone and found that the girl that had invited me had left or got kicked out. I had terrible service in the estate without access to the wifi and had to get another friend to get me an Uber out of there while Ed was passed out.” Awful and frightening. Aurelie Wynn continues. “I told the guy I was seeing that I got raped, Mark Salling, and when he found out by who he pretended not to know him, then blamed me for it and broke it off with me.” A little over a month ago, Glee actor Mark Salling plead guilty to child porn charges . He’s gross, even beyond the victim-blaming that Aurelie describes. It’s worth noting that, though the case fell through, Mark Salling was also accused of rape . (That case was thrown out because of how much time had passed — don’t even get us started on that) Aurelie continues to describe the bitter aftermath: “My other friends and people around me told me it was best not to say anything, to not be ‘that girl’ and that no one would believe me and think I was just out trying to get my 10 seconds of fame.” That closely mirrors what Kristina has described after her own alleged rape. Sadly, too many people — not just those in the entertainment business — would prefer to not know or not believe that evil walks among us, ruining lives and still being adored by fans and friends. “And so I kept quiet and soon got to see and hear how prevalent sexual assault and intimidation goes on in this industry…to the point where I questioned how much I really wanted to be in entertainment as I didn’t see it getting better.” She reached her conclusion. “I’ve since moved on from acting and wanted just to reenforce Kristin Cohen’s claim[s] as I believe them to be true.” It is so sad that she got chased out of pursuing her dream by such a nightmarish experience. But it’s astoundingly brave for her to speak up now and lend her voice to Kristian Cohen’s accusation. Aurelie continues: “I believe you Kristina Cohen and thank you for speaking up so eloquently and really encompassing what young female actresses have to go through at the hands of men like Ed Westwick.” She credits Kristina and her story for encouraging her to share her own. “Without you I would not have had the strength to speak up publicly about my ordeal. # metoo ” There are too many #MeToo stories, and yet we know that millions of women have yet to share theirs. And she’s also become estranged from various Kardashians — from her family. Caitlyn is publicly lamenting that the Kardashians want her out of their lives. Caitlyn Jenner spoke about her memoir, The Secrets of My Life , and its detrimental effect on her relationship with the Kardashians at the Cambridge Union on Monday night. And this sounds pretty rough. “It’s been a little bit tough over the past couple of years on the Kardashian side.” Yeah, we’d say so. Especially since April, when the memoir was published. “To be honest, I don’t talk to them anymore. Kim I haven’t talked to in a year.” That tracks, more or less. Back in September, we learned that Caitlyn and Kim hadn’t spoken in 9 months . (11 months is “a year,” for most intents and purposes) “They don’t want me in their lives, they bashed me pretty badly.” We saw quite a lot of that, with Caitlyn getting called insane by her own family on Keeping Up With The Kardashians over some of the things that were written in her book. “It’s devastating when your kids do that. It really hurt.” Remember, folks — Caitlyn fathered Kendall and Kylie, but she’s been Kim and Kourtney and Khloe and Rob’s dad for decades, too. Caitlyn doesn’t feel that their responses are justified. “I tried to be honest in my book — very fair and very nice. Unfortunately, they didn’t take it that way.” Honesty is not always the best policy — particularly when writing a memoir about your very famous, still-living family members. But Caitlyn emphasizes that the Kardashians were not the focus. “In the book I express some opinions and got shut down. It was not about the Kardashians.” Sure, but obviously people are going to latch onto Kardashian news. “They were only mentioned on 20 pages.” Do you know how much any one of us could upset people in our lives by telling 100% truthful stories about them in just 20 pages? You could lose every friend and family member that you have with too much honesty. You gotta have a filter, folks. Yes, even when writing a memoir. You don’t need to lie; you just need to edit. But Caitlyn thinks that the Kardashians doing what they do — turning every circumstance into entertainment for their own professional and financial benefit — is to blame for the perception that Caitlyn’s book was negative towards them. “They made it more about them on television. The book was about my life. That caused a lot of the separation between us.” Like we said, they sure did talk about it on their show. But when you speak negatively of your celebrity family members outside of, like, a therapist’s office, don’t expect for them to be super chill about it. Caitlyn seems to be regarding her book, because it is a memoir, as some sort of sacrosanct confessional whose contents should be untouchable. But … it’s a book, and the Kardashians are (mostly) real people with (arguably) real feelings. It’s important for us to note that Caitlyn still gets along with some members of what’s considered the Kardashian clan. Caitlyn is still close with Kylie. Cait appeared on Life of Kylie . and the two regularly hang out on Father’s Day. Also, Caitlyn took her gal pal Sophia Hutchins to Kendall Jenner’s 22nd birthday party. That was potentially a little awkward, since Cait’s “friend” is still only 21 and therefore younger than Kendall, but it shows that Caitlyn and Kendall are still getting along. Still, it’s sad to see a family torn apart. We wonder if they’ll mend fences or just resign themselves to this estrangement.
