Are NBC And MSNBC Going Conservative After Megyn Kelly’s Arrival? Megyn Kelly’s arrival at NBC is making us a little nervous, especially after Page Six reported that the former Fox anchor may be moving in on Tamron Hall and Al Roker’s timeslot. Now Page Six is making claims that NBC may be looking to start leaning more towards the right — following in Fox News’ footsteps: Media insiders are buzzing that Andy Lack wants NBC to become “the next Fox News” after he poached cable stars Greta Van Susteren and Megyn Kelly from the network. “He believes he’s building MSNBC and NBC into the next Fox. It seems the network wants to take a more conservative tone,” a source said. That’s certainly disappointing as far as we’re concerned. We have come to rely on MSNBC coverage even more than CNN and we’d hate to see it adopt Faux Fox News’ WWE-style of commentary. Even worse — the same report makes claims that Joy Reid’s anchor status at MSNBC may also be in jeopardy: “They haven’t renewed her contract. She’s been working without a contract for at least a month,” an insider told us. Well, we did a little digging and have been told that we can continue to count on NBC and MSNBC to remain true to the brand, “Our mission hasn’t changed,” a spokesperson for the network told BOSSIP. “We want to break news and tell good stories. Anyone who watches our air knows who we are.” That’s a big relief right? And as for Joy Reid’s status at the network? “We are in the middle of a standard renegotiation and we absolutely want to re-sign Joy,” the rep confirmed to BOSSIP. “She’s a critical member of the team who provides top notch analysis and unique perspective.” Indeed she does! Thank goodness those rumors aren’t true riiiiight?

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 10 Recap: Nostalgia’s a Bitch

The Vampire Diaries really likes to celebrate the past.  On The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 10 , we took a trip into Damon’s mind and there was no vampire in site. In fact, it was littered with past characters who really helped make the episode a poignant affair.  When the episode got underway, Bonnie showed up at the Salvatore mansion to find Damon in a catatonic state. Sybil then revealed she needed help finding the bell.  Caroline decided to help her if it meant saving Damon from his own mind. Bonnie and Caroline entered and noticed straight off the bat that Vicki Donovan was very much alive.  Bonnie thought she had been bitten by Damon, but it turned out Vicki was just a normal teenager who had no idea what vampires were.  Caroline, however, found out the hard way that her mother was not a fan of vampires. Caroline tried to join forces with her mother to locate Damon because of the animal attacks, but her mother kidnapped her because she knew she was a vampire.  Back in Mystic Falls, Stefan met up with Seline who told Stefan that if he rings the bell twelve times it would bring hell because it would destroy everything for miles, giving Stefan a lot of souls for Cade.  It was great to finally learn what the damn bell did, but it’s also a little farfetched how long it’s not been used for. Where was this when the heretics had taken over the town? Stefan compelled Matt to ring the bell if he did not forgive Damon for murdering Vicki before the hour was up. As you can probably expect, Matt started ringing the bell.  Back in Damon’s mind, Stefan showed up and Damon had a war of words with him. Damon blamed Stefan for turning him into a vampire and making him a murderer.  Damon then snapped out of his funk and killed Stefan. He then made his way to stop Matt from ringing the bell twelve times. Watch The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 9 Online The pair actually bonded. Damon apologized for murdering Vicki and Matt understood that Damon saved the town.  He said that goes a long way for him and Matt made off for the police station. He decided he wanted to become Sheriff again, while Damon revealed that he’s always had a good relationship with sheriffs in town.  Will these two seriously become friends?! Finally, Sybil and Seline met up and called a truce. They were tired of fighting each other, so decided to move on with their lives. However, Cade showed up and revealed that the ladies were finished helping him because they were so unreliable.  The pair combusted into flames and Cade said that he was going to take matters into his own hands in order to get the results he wants.  What a riveting episode, you guys! Hopefully the rest of the season manages to match this episode’s quality.  With Nina Dobrev on her way back as Elena , it sure seems like the show is surprisingly going out on a high.  What did you think of all the drama? Kim Kardashian Vacations Without Kanye West: Is It Really Over?!

For months now, we’ve been hearing rumors that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have broken up . False reports about the couple calling it quits have been circulating pretty much since the time they got married, but with this latest round, it seems there’s legitimate cause to believe that Kimye may soon be a thing of the past. It all started when Kim was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, and Kanye reportedly failed to show her the support she needed. Shortly thereafter, Kanye was hospitalized following an emotional breakdown, and he and Kim lived in separate homes for several weeks after his release. So yeah, even though we’d heard the rumors before, this time it really seems like the A-list pair are at least experiencing problems, if not heading for divorce. Today, we have news of another indication that all is not well with the Kardashian-Wests, as Radar Online is reporting that Kim and her family are taking on a vacation – and they will not be joined by Kanye. The family reportedly took off for Costa Rica yesterday, and just about every member of the extended Kard clan was aboard… …except for Kanye, whose absence remains a mystery. Even Kylie’s boyfriend, Tyga, went along, and brought his son with Blac Chyna. Kris Jenner’s rumored fiance, Corey Gamble, was also a part of the island getaway.  The fact that this was clearly not a ladies-only affair makes the fact that Kanye opted out (or wasn’t invited) all the more curious. However, sources tell Radar that despite the fact that she and Kanye are living separate lives these days, Kim is not currently taking steps toward getting divorced or legally separated. “Kim really does not want to deal with her image being ruined because of another sloppy divorce,” says the insider. “So at the moment, that is not an option.” It should be noted that Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna also didn’t joint the excursion, but that’s to be expected. Rob usually skips his family’s outings, and the presence of Blac’s baby daddy would probably make things more than a little awkward. Normally, we’d say we’ll find out the deal with Kanye when Keeping Up With the Kardashians returns to E! Markeith Loyd May Be Permitted To Represent Himself On Trial After murdering his pregnant girlfriend in cold blood and gunning down a police officer at a Florida Wal Mart…Markeith Loyd is hoping to represent himself on trial — despite the fact that he potentially faces the death penalty. Loyd has already exhibited a streak of erratic and disrespectful behavior in the courtroom …so the judge had to take time to assess if the completely unqualified defendant was in any real mental state to make the call on defending himself. Via Orlando Sentinel : During his first appearances before judges at the Orange County Jail, Loyd swore repeatedly and claimed authorities were lying about his case. He also said he does not want to be appointed a public defender and plans to represent himself. On Thursday, Lauten laid out the reasons why Loyd may want to have an attorney: The charges he faces make him eligible for the death penalty in Florida if he is found guilty; a lawyer would be familiar with courtroom proceedings and know when to object; and a lawyer would be able to conduct pretrial depositions. He also explained some of the perils of not having representation: If Loyd decides to represent himself and is found guilty, he would not be able to appeal his case on the argument that he was not effective in representing himself, Lauten said. Lauten asked Loyd a few basic questions about courtroom proceedings, like whether he knows when attorneys can object to a juror’s selection using what is called a peremptory challenge. “No, it’d be my job to learn,” Loyd said. Loyd told the judge he had completed 10 years of formal education and earned a GED diploma. Lauten said Loyd would not be given any special privileges at the jail, like access to law libraries. WELP. If this man is of sound mind — whatever that means when you’ll murder your own pregnant spouse and gun down a police officer in a crowded shopping plaza — then let him represent himself and get himself sat in the chair.

Cyndi Lauper to Madonna: Calm the Eff Down!

Cyndi Lauper offered some pointed words for Madonna on Watch What Happens last night. Appearing opposite Andy Cohen, the former pop star was asked about the Women's March in Washington last Saturday, specifically how Madonna told a throng of protestors that she had thought about blowing up the White House . The legendary artist later tried to clarify this remark , but it's not exactly the kind of thing one can walk back easily. And it's not the sort of thing Lauper liked to hear from her fellow singer. “I don’t think that it served our purpose,” Lauper told Cohen on the latter's Bravo talk show. “Anger is not better than clarity and humanity. That is what opens people’s minds.” Lauper, of course, wasn't against the Women's March overall. Far from it. She just preferred the way some other celebrities went about passing along their message of hope and inspiration. Like Scarlett Johansson, who spoke about her experience with Planned Parenthood. “It was clear, it was eloquent,” Lauper said. “Yelling just jacks people up. Mary Tyler Moore: New Death Details Emerge

As previously reported,  Mary Tyler Moore died on Wednesday afternoon at the age of 80. The legendary actress had been admitted to a Connecticut hospital last week and, according to TMZ sources, spent her final several days on a respirator. She died with her husband of 33 years by her side. While no cause of death has been determined as of this writing, People Magazine now confirms that Moore had been placed under doctor’s with pneumonia due to complications from her diabetes. She was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 33 and dedicated a chunk of her life to educating the public about that disease. In May of 2011, the beloved star underwent elective surgery to remove a benign tumor of the lining tissue of the brain. “I do have problems with my eyes, one eye in particular, and if I fall, I generally break a bone,” she told The New York Times a few months after this procedure. Friends have said that Moore’s health, specifically her eyesight, kidneys and heart, took a turn for the much worse in 2014. Moore earned an Oscar nomination in 1980 for Best Actress for the film Ordinary People. But she was best known and most influential for a pair of memorable television roles: Housewife and homemaker Laura Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show from 1961–66. Minnesota reporter Mary Richards on The Mary Tyler Moore Show from 1970–77. She last acted on an episode of Hot in Cleveland in 2013. For the past few years of her life, Moore took on advocacy roles for two causes close to her heart: animal rights and juvenile diabetes research. Moore was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Screen Actor’s Guilt Awards in 2012 and talked about how she used her father’s middle name for work because there were six mother Mary Moores belonging to the union when she started working. She made her dad happy with that gesture, “and tonight,” she told the audience, “after having the privilege of working with the most creative and talented people imaginable, I, too, am happy, after all.” CBS has scheduled a special titled Mary Tyler Moore: Love Is All Around for 9/8c tonight. It will be anchored by Gayle King and it will will feature archival footage of Moore at work on The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, along with interviews with Oprah Winfrey and other admirers of Moore’s work. In light of Moore’s passing, meanwhile, close friend and former colleague Dick Van Dyke paid tribute to the icon on Instagram. There are no words. She was THE BEST!” he wrote. “We always said that we changed each other’s lives for the better.” In addition to the message, Van Dyke included a link to a video of the on-screen couple performing “I’ve Got Your Number. She had us all laughing after a couple of episodes. “She just grabbed onto the character and literally turned us into an improv group, it was so well-oiled. That show was the best five years of my life.”

Shia LaBeouf Arrested For Assault at Anti-Trump Protest

Shia LaBeouf has been placed under arrest. The eccentric actor was taken into custody around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday after he allegedly attacked a man, according to the New York Police Department.  The incident took place during the actor’s ongoing livestream of his anti-Donald Trump protest in The Big Apple. Per Us Weekly, Detective Pisano says that LaBeouf was booked early this morning after a scuffle outside the front of the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens. “His victim was a 25-year-old male,” the police officer explains, adding: “For whatever reason, Shia grabbed his scarf that was tied around his neck and head, and pulled him to the ground. The man was left with scratches on his face and red marks around his neck.” A spokesman for the police department says this was not an issue of LaBeouf clashing with a Donald Trump supporter. The NYPD’s public information officer notes that the actor simply “took umbrage” with something his alleged victim did or said. It’s unclear what prompted the reported attack, but the man on the receiving end did not seek medical attention. “He was charged with misdemeanor assault,” Pisano told Us Weekly. “He has been released but will have to appear in court at a later date.” This is the second confrontation that has taken place during LaBeouf’s “He Will Not Divide Us” individual rally. Earlier this week, video of the actor getting into it with a white supremacist went viral. In the following piece of footage, you can see LaBeouf gets into the face of someone who appears to be a major Adolf Hitler fan: Shia Labeouf GOES OFF on White Supremacist The actor’s performance protest livestream was set up on Monday. It invites people to stand in front of the camera and repeat the phrase “he will not divide us.”  LaBeouf’s plan is to have it up and running 24 hours a day for at least the next four years. In response to this protest, Jon Voight came out on Tuesday and slammed LaBeouf as a traitor . The veteran star said that Shia is setting a terrible, anti-American example for his young fans. This is ridiculous, of course, because peaceful protests are the bedrock of democracy. And also because LaBeouf doesn’t really have any fans. LaBeouf has engaged in a number of unusual actions in the past, often filming himself while doing so. He was arrested in 2015 for public intoxication . In this case, the livestreaming of his protest does seem a bit self-serving. But it’s hard to blame anyone for how he or she reacts to Donald Trump as President. The Bachelor Winner Wonders: Oh, God, What Did I Do?!?

According to a bombshell new report, The Bachelor star Nick Viall has a lot in common with the drinking of milk on a sweltering day. That is, the 36-year-old is a bad decision that a certain young woman (see The Bachelor spoilers to find out which one) regrets immediately. An insider tells In Touch Weekly that the suitor who earned Viall’s final rose on this season of the ABC competition isn’t unlike many fans. Or at least those who  watch The Bachelor online from home, jaw dropped all the way down to the floor, and basically ask themselves: WHAT IS SHE THINKING!? The Bachelor finale, of course, was filmed several weeks ago. You can learn who makes  Nick Viall’s final four , and beyond. According to reports, the girl who emerges victorious from this 21st season is in a particularly unusual, unenviable position: She can actually see Nick’s actions on television every week, learning what he said or did with other women prior to proposing. And the In Touch Weekly source claims the winner “started to cry” during a recent episode upon seeing Viall “get a little too intimate.” “Not only was she hurt by what she was seeing, but she was so embarrassed by his behavior,” the celebrity news tabloid writes. This mole does not come out and confirm that the person with whom Nick was getting intimate with was Corinne Olympios. But come on. We just know it was  Corinne Olympios . Then again, some reports suggest she is The Bachelor winner , which wouldn’t make a whole of sense given this new rumor. Or maybe Corinne is the one bent out of shape that Nick is also cozying up to other contestants? That we could actually see. In any case, over two seasons of The Bachelorette and one season of Bachelor in Paradise, Nick has been quite a ladies man. By which we mean he has likely slept with SEVEN women from The Bachelor franchise at this point … that we know of.  View Slideshow: 7 Girls From The Bachelor Franchise That Nick Viall Has Slept With But In Touch says the winner knows a very different side to Viall, developing feelings for him based on getting to know him away from set.  Which makes this reality check that much harder. Says the show insider quoted by the tabloid: “Nick is very sweet and loving toward the winner in private, but she’s starting to see how much of a playboy he is, thanks to the show.” “She’s starting to think that maybe she made a huge mistake. She’s having second thoughts about spending the rest of her life with him.” She really need not have that concern. The odds of a Bachelor or Bachelorette star actually getting married are about as high as the odds of Donald Trump giving up on Twitter. Wasn’t the winner aware of Nick’s reputation prior to falling for him? Wasn’t this a common topic of conversation around the mansion? Yes, this tabloid wrote. But the Viall’s unidentified fiancee just chalked up all that chatter to jealousy from the other women. But she now sees it as a warning she ought to have heeded. This  know-it-all tells In Touch  that she chose to ignore it: “The winner had heard from the other girls in the house that Nick was trying to sleep with all of them, but she always brushed it off.” “But after having watched these first few episodes, she’s starting to think the girls weren’t exaggerating [or stirring up drama].” “Watching the show each week gets harder and harder for the winner because his behavior gets shadier and shadier.” And only four episodes of The Bachelor have even aired! We have a long way to go until the finale, leaving the champion in a difficult place. Will she continue to tune in on a weekly basis? Will she make the unprecedented move of dumping Nick before she’s even been revealed as the winner on network television? “It’s so bad right now, the winner doesn’t even like to admit that Nick is her future husband,” concludes this report. Fortunately, she’s actually not allowed to admit it. Not now at least. She signed a non-disclosure agreement that makes it illegal for her to discuss what happens on the show in public. Dan Aykroyd Pens Heartbreaking Tribute to Former Love Carrie Fisher

Dan Aykroyd is one of those people that you don’t hear too much about, but whenever you find yourself thinking about him, your heart fills with love and light. So you might want to take a minute to alert your heart that a flood is coming. See, in case you missed it, Dan was engaged to Carrie Fisher all the way back in the early 80s. They never got married, but Dan always thought well of her. We know that last part because he wrote this absolutely moving tribute to Carrie, who passed away last month at the age of 60, and he was kind enough to share it with us all. Take some deep breaths, steady yourself, do whatever you need to do to prepare for a good cry … And here we go. “I grew up as a simple Catholic kid from a government family in Hull, Quebec,” Dan begins, “so you can imagine how much of a privilege and honour it was for me to have known this one-off, broke-the-mould woman as a great friend.” He recalls that he first met Carrie when she hosted Saturday Night Live in 1978, but that “Later, while filming Blues Brothers, Carrie and I fell in love.” “Contemplating marriage, I gave Carrie a sapphire ring,” he says, “and subsequently in the romance she gave me a Donald Roller Wilson oil painting of a monkey in a blue dress next to a tiny floating pencil.” He says he kept the painting for years, “until it began to frighten my children.” Dan calls Carrie “one of the most brilliant and hilarious minds of our eon,” and that with her, “I was embraced in warmly human and Hollywood-glamorous emotional comfort, elegance and excitement.” One Christmas, Debbie Reynolds booked a guest house in Lake Tahoe for them, and as Dan remembers, “At that point, our love was soaring on laugh-filled exhilaration and a vibrant, wholly satisfying physical intimacy.” He refers to the trip as “Certainly one of the planet’s greatest occasions where LSD was a factor.” Unfortunately, though they “had a great time” together, they eventually split because Carrie “was also in love with Paul Simon.” “She married him,” he concludes, “but I hope she kept my ring.” Are you weeping yet?
