Megyn Kelly is no longer the female face of Fox News. In a move that caught many viewers by surprise, the long-time reporter decided on Tuesday to sign a contract with NBC . She will debut on that network later this year, anchoring her very own program Monday through Friday; hosting a Sunday evening series; and also contributing in general to NBC political coverage and any kind of breaking news. Reports indicate that an offer of $20 million per year from Fox News was not enough to entice Kelly to stay. Is this really all that shocking, considering Kelly claims former Fox News Corp. Chairman Roger Ailes sexually harassed her on numerous occasions shortly after she was hired a decade ago? And also considering the fact that Kelly clearly has no respect for Sean Hannity ? And also considering that Kelly is not a very big fan of Donald Trump, the impending President of the United States who will have the full support of Fox News and its unfair and non-balanced reporters? It really shouldn’t be. In fact, this move should have been an obvious one to see coming. But still. We understand the idea of Megyn Kelly appearing on any network other than Fox is jarring. And Kelly clearly understands this as well. That’s why she has issued a lengthy Facebook post in response to her decision going public. “Over a dozen years ago I started at Fox News in a job that would change my life,” she wrote this afternoon, continung: “Now, I have decided to end my time at FNC, incredibly enriched for the experiences I’ve had. I have agreed to join NBC News, where I will be launching a new daytime show Monday through Friday, along with a Sunday evening news magazine program. “I will also participate in NBC’s breaking news coverage and its political and special events coverage.” Concluded the 46-year old: “While I will greatly miss my colleagues at Fox, I am delighted to be joining the NBC News family and taking on a new challenge. “I remain deeply grateful to Fox News, to Rupert, Lachlan and James Murdoch, and especially to all of the FNC viewers, who have taught me so much about what really matters. “More to come soon. … Happy New Year, and God bless.” Megyn Kelly Throws Shade at Roger Ailes In announcing the hiring of Kelly, Andrew Lack, chairman of NBC News, said the following: “Megyn is an exceptional journalist and news anchor, who has had an extraordinary career. It wasn’t all that long ago that Ronda Rousey was considered the most dominant female MMA fighter in the world. That time has now decisively passed. Defending bantam weight champion Amanda Nunes trounced Rousey to the point that the UFC 207 title fight was stopped after just 48 seconds tonight. Nunes was widely regarded as an underdog, but Rousey never had a chance once she touched gloves with the Brazilian known to fans as the Lioness. Nunes pummeled Rousey with a barrage of jabs, putting the former champ on a defensive campaign from which she never recovered. At the 48-second mark of the first round of what was billed as the matchup of the year, the judges took mercy on Rousey and called the fight in favor of her 28-year-old opponent. A stunned Rousey kept her eyes cast to the ground as the fight was announced in favor of an opponent she had sworn to beat in her few media appearances of the past 13 months. Rousey lost the UFC bantamweight title when she was defeated by Holly Holm in November of 2015. Shortly thereafter, Holm lost the title to Miesha Tate, who later lost it to Nunes. Rousey’s comeback effort was billed by both her PR team and the UFC simply as “the return.” It seems Ronda wasn’t the only one who underestimated Amanda Nunes. Born in Brazil but trained in New Jersey and Tennessee, Nunes now boasts a record of 14-4. While a number of MMA analysts expected her to offer a formidable challenge to Rousey, few – if any – expected her to make such short work of the sport’s most recognized figure. As early as this week, Rousey was sharing chiseled selfies on Instagram in order to demonstrate that she was in the best shape of her career and send a message of intimidation to her less-celebrated opponent. It now seems that message fell on deaf ears. Rousey was open about her struggle with depression following her defeat by Holm, causing many to question if she was emotionally fit to return to the ring. Kris Jenner has penned a tribute to Debbie Reynolds. And we don’t even have anything negative to say about it. While it’s typically a reflex at this point to mock Jenner for everything she does or says, the reality star has taken a few moments to relate to Reynolds as a mother. There’s nothing to make fun of about that. The beloved former actress, of course, died from a stroke on Wednesday . Alongside a black and white photo of Reynolds with her two children, Carrie and Todd Fisher, Jenner wrote the following on Instagram: Absolutely heartbreaking and unimaginable. As a mother I cannot imagine the pain and heartbreak of losing a child. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and a true Hollywood legend… Debbie Reynolds, you will be forever missed but never forgotten!! My love and prayers are with Debbie and Carrie’s family… Jenner is a mother of six. Reynolds was known both for her long and impressive acting career, but also for the close bond she shared with daughter Carrie Fisher. And Fisher died just a day before Reynolds. In response to both passings, celebrity reaction and fan reaction has been both swift and sad. There have been a number of moving tributes, although we may have now found a new favorite. It tragically comes to us from Todd Fisher, Reynolds’ second child, and it features an incredible drawing of his mother and sister. “This is a beautiful love story to witness in my 58 years. I miss them both so much. Love is everlasting,” Todd wrote as a caption to this image: The drawing was created by Ricky LaChance. It depicts Carrie and Debbie with their arms wrapped around each other’s shoulders. The former is dressed as her iconic Star Wars character, Princess Leia; while Reynolds dons a yellow raincoat, just like Kathy Selden, her character in 1952’s Singin’ in the Rain. “What a glorious feeling I’m happy again,” it says above the photo, which is a lyric from Reynolds’ musical comedy. Fisher died on Tuesday after suffering a major heart attack last Friday. Within 24 hours, Reynolds also passed away, saying on her death bed that she just wanted to be with her daughter. Heartbreaking stuff. 2016 hasn’t been the easiest year for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. First, Kim was robbed at gun point , and Kanye reportedly failed to provide her with the support she needed. Shortly thereafter, Kanye was hospitalized after suffering an emotional breakdown, and sources say he and Kim have living in separate homes since his release. Of course, the rapper’s hospitalization was proceeded by weeks of wildly erratic behavior (even his standards) and now both he and Kim are feeling the fallout from all the bridges that he burned. But not surprisingly, Beyonce wasn’t having it. “Beyonce flipped out on Kim when Kim called her to try and soothe tensions after Kanye’s hospitalization,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online. “Basically she told Kim to never, ever, contact her or her husband again and said stuff like she thought that the two of them are made for each other because they are both talentless and pathetic!” Dayum.
