Source: @JustInMyView / R1 Digital Tekashi 6ix9ine Pleads Guilty Looks like things are a wrap for Tekashi 69x9ine. TMZ reports that the rapper who was arrested in November on racketeering and firearm charges has pleaded guilty to EIGHT counts. The counts include; multiple counts of racketeering, conspiracy, firearms offenses, and narcotics trafficking. Tekashi did not plead guilty however to a charge involving an April 3, 2018 robbery of rivals of the Nine Trey gang. As previously r eported prosecutors claimed that he fired a gun while committing a crime and the charge for that carries a possible life sentence with a mandatory minimum of 25 years served. They alleged that he and his manager Shottie and two other Blood Gang members robbed rival gang members at gunpoint. In the newly unsealed court docs, prosecutors claim the rapper was involved in dealing heroin, fentanyl, ecstasy, amphetamines, and marijuana, and conspired multiple acts of murder, robbery, and extortion. If you’re curious about the “Dummy Boy’s” fate, you’ll have to wait—he won’t be sentenced until January 2020. The DailyNews reports however that he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 47 years in prison, but could get less for his cooperation. “In the fall of 2017, I met and joined the Nine Trey Blood Gang. As a member of Nine Trey, the enterprise engaged in such activities including shooting at people, robbing people, and at times drug trafficking,” said Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez. He said that on March 20, 2018 he “helped members of NineTrey attempt to kill a rival gang member.” The following month he helped fellow gangsters rob a rival, he said. WELP, so much for that. Someone’s going to jail—PERIOD.
It’s been over four months since Bill Cosby reported to prison to begin serving a 3-10 year sentence for sexual assault. From the very beginning, there were reports that the disgraced comedy legend wasn’t faring well behind bars. The public delighted in reports of Cosby getting slapped with a chicken patty , and with good reason. The idea of someone getting slapped with a chicken patty is objectively hilarious, and it’s even funnier when the slappee is a remorseless monster like the Cos. And if your sense of humor leans toward the dark side, and the idea of Cosby getting suffering comedic karma behind bars is your idea of a chuckle fest, you may want to refrain from sipping any beverages while reading this next story. According to Radar Online, Cosby has been passing the time behind bars by roleplaying as his Cosby Show character, Dr. Clifford Huxtable. “He is accepting appointments from inmates to help diagnose anything from a cold to obesity,” a source recently told the site. “If he thinks they’re incurable, he refers them to the infirmary with a ‘preliminary diagnosis.’” “I’m just offering Dr. Huxtable,” Cosby reportedly explained, presumably before seeking out Theo to deliver a lecture on the importance of punctuality. “He told us that he wore a bedsheet like an ‘apron’ to get into character,” the source added. “He said his medical skills are ‘a tad rusty’ since he played Dr. Huxtable, but he’s still ‘hip’ to the ‘role.’ “Dr. Huxtable is sort of like Dr. Frankenstein,” the insider claimed. “He wants to take the head off first and then go in with his arm and pull it out.” We’re not even sure what the hell is going on in that last quote, but remarkably, reps for Cosby kind of confirmed that the 81-year-old is playing doctor behind bars. Cosby’s longtime publicist Andrew Wyatt told Radar the convicted rapist “has regular and in-depth discussions about getting better nutrition for the residents … getting them on natural supplements because residents and officers have major health problems.” One inmate reportedly told a family member that “he was told to follow along with whatever Cosby says — play along. “He’s old, so the prison staff just want no problems. He hopes to get a job in the infirmary, this way they keep him in there.” “The prison does not intend on moving him, so we just play along to make him feel better,” said a separate source. To be clear, if Cosby is suffering from dementia, then this is not funny. But if he imagines himself at the center of some schmaltzy Robin Williams-style comedy about a quirky ray of sunshine who brightens up a dreary institution, then this sh-t is freakin’ hilarious with his shenanigans. Kylie Jenner may only consume 500 calories per day , but she has a very good reason for it: The reality star is too busy eating up her daughter, Stormi Webster! Exactly one year after giving birth to her first child, the 21-year old is here to gush over the infant, while also sharing a new and adorable photo of her tyke. “how did i get so lucky to have such a sweet, smart, happy baby,” Jenner wrote as a caption to the above picture. In honor of Stormi turning one, Kylie added: “i just couldn’t have dreamt you up, storm. i wish you could stay this little forever and i could protect that contagious smile and laugh of yours. “I know you won’t remember much about the first year of your life but i pray that you’ll never forget to keep sharing your joy and laughter with the world. “my love grows for you a thousand miles a minute. every day with you is the best day of my life. happy birthday to my angel on earth.” Stormi, of course, was born last February to Jenner and Travis Scott. It’s really sort of shocking that this happened, considering how that relationship back then did not seem very serious — and Kylie was just so very young. Fast forward 12 months and there’s lots of talk that Scott may propose to Jenner , while both Travis and Kylie appear to have really taken to parenthood. Elsewhere, other relatives of Stormi also wished the cutie a happy birthday. Wrote Scott, for instance: ITS MY QUEEN ,MY HEART, MY AIR , MY EVERYTHING. STORMI’S BIRTHDAY TODAY. I LOVE U SO MUCH BABY. U THE SMARTEST AND LOVING BABY EVER. UR SPIRT KEEPS ME GOING EVERY DAY ME AND UR MOMMY LOVE U AND CANT WAIT TO SHARE MORE BEAUTIFUL DAYS WITH U. HAPPY BDAYY STORMIII LETS RAGE. And Kris Jenner: Happy birthday to our little angel Stormi! You bring us so much joy with your sweet smile and precious laugh. You are such a beautiful blessing and I love you so very much! #HappyBirthdayStormi. And Kim Kardashian : Happy Birthday to the sweetest baby girl Stormi! We love you so much!!! For the most part, Kylie – who posts very frequently on social media – has done a solid job keeping her kid out of the spotlight. We haven’t really seen all that many photos of her over this initial year of life, although more have been added online over the past few months. For awhile there, the very first image Jenner ever shared of her daughter’s finger was the most-liked snapshot in Instagram history., But then this egg took over that honor . Tough break. Anyway, though: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STORMI! View Slideshow: Stormi Webster: See ALL Her Precious Pics!
As “clout” continues to replace hard currency as the most valuable commodity of the 21st century, you can expect young aspiring influencers to go to greater and greater lengths in order to boost their public profile. For evidence of this hilarious trend look no further than 24-year-old aspiring pop star Kelsy Karter. Earlier this week, Kelsy tweeted the above photo with a caption reading: “mama, look what i made me do” It appeared that what she had done was to get an oddly purplish portrait of Harry Styles inked onto the side of her face. Kelsy foreshadowed the horrendous tatt by tweeting: “Finally know what I’m getting Harry for his birthday.” ( Styles turns 25 today.) Many were convinced the singer had really gone through with a rather horrendous decision. But just as many, if not more, suspected that something was amiss. Perhaps sensing that the jig was up, Karly confessed in an Instagram story that the whole thing was a hoax. “How I rocked the entire world for $300,” Kelsy titled the clip. “[Tattoo artist Romeo] traced Harry‘s 2017 Rolling Stone cover, applied it to my face, and then a special FX makeup artist did her thing,” she says in the video. “BTW: We know it looked ridiculous. That was the point.” Well, we suppose she gets bonus points for knowing she’s being ridiculous. As for whether or not the hoax worked, we suppose that depends on your definition of an effective PR stunt. Surely, more people are aware of Kelsy now than a few days ago — but that doesn’t mean she’s earned many new fans. In fact, she’s taken quite a bit of flak for the stalker-ish nature of her Harry-obsessed lyrics. Kelsy Karter – Harry So the good news is, Kelsy didn’t actually get a tattoo of Harry on her face. The bad news, unfortunately, is twofold: For starters, nearly a week after its release, the music video for “Harry” has yet to earn half a million views. On top of that, Mr. Styles might feel compelled to invest in a new security system after listening to the song. View Slideshow: 21 Wild and Totally Crazy Tattoos People Somehow Have on Them
Counting On returns very soon, and fans are hoping for a special announcement from Jana Duggar . When, they wonder, will she finally get into a real courtship and get married and escape from her role as the family Cinderella? Not yet. But at least Jana finally has her own space … sort of. Jana Duggar does not yet have her own bedroom. Yes, still. The Duggar family believes that privacy is just an invitation for the devil to visit. (In other words, they realize that masturbation is a normal human activity and go to great lengths to prevent their children from doing it) They also have approximately one billion children. Jana is sharing a bedroom with a 9-year-old, but at least she finally has her own Instagram. Jana only has a few photos on her Instagram page. That makes sense, because she is new to the social media platform. However, but this week, she shared a series of three pictures of her own little space in the Duggar house. Jana also wrote out a caption for this series of photos. “Love this quiet little nook!” she writes. It does look like a cozy nook. Among Jana’s personal comforts are a number of houseplants, including a jade plant. She also has a trove of art supplies — making us wonder if this nook is entirely her space. Jana then shows off a simple watercolor painting that she did of a frog. If the Duggar women were permitted to have jobs that didn’t involve giving birth or helping others give birth, Jana could have gone into art as a career. Just look at what she painted: Of the frog painting, Jana explains: “My little nephew Marcus loves frogs and asked me to paint it.” Nice! Jana also shared some details about the nook’s decorations. For example, she says that those potted plants are a gift from her brother, Jason. Jason is 18 years old and that was a very tasteful gift. Fans also noticed and asked about that gorgeous antique desk of Jana’s. “My sweet Grandma gave it to me,” Jana reveals in the comments. She then shares: “It’s over 100 years old.” A nook is great, but it’s no substitute for a bedroom. We don’t mean to suggest that Jana needs her own space purely so that she can spend quality time with a hitachi magic wand. (Her sexual health is her business, even if unfortunately her parents and fundamentalist church insist that it’s theirs, too) Bedrooms give you a space of your own that you can decorate to suit your tastes and personality. It also gives you a place to which you can retreat when you’re feeling emotionally exhausted or overwhelmed. Sure, some people share a room during childhood, especially when they are close in age. But Jana is 29 years old and she still does not have a real space for herself. The Duggar household is not really a place for individual expression. Until the children marry, they are extensions of Jim Bob’s will and of his identity. We’re glad that Jana has this small personal outlet. And we continue to be thrilled that she’s been permitted to join Instagram this year. View Slideshow: Jana Duggar Joins Instagram: Is She FINALLY In a Courtship?! [UPDATED]
Following his arrest last summer, Ryan Edwards checked into a rehab facility for a stint of 90 days. The time away cost the former Teen Mom star significantly, considering he missed the birth of his second son. But it was for a worthwhile cause, right? If it meant the ex-MTV personality would get clean and sober and be there for his family for the rest of his life? If it had worked out that way, yes. Absolutely. But a source now tells Radar Online that Edwards relapsed almost as soon as he left the aforementioned facility, a claim that does jibe with what we heard in early December: That Edwards was spotted out and about , drinking heavily. “He was good for about a week [and] then went back to hanging out with the same people that do drugs and go out in all the bars,” an insider alleges to this website, adding: “He wasn’t any better since he got out of rehab.” Earlier this month, Edwards was arrested on charges of theft and heroin possession . It marked the third time he’s been taken into custody due to drug use or ownership. According to the police report, Ryan skipped out on a bar tab of $36 after consuming six drinks, only to be tracked down by local authorities in Tennessee. He was placed behind bars and will now be stuck in county jail until April . Radar writes that Edwards “fell right back” into alcohol use once he was free from rehab last fall,” explaining: “The sad thing about our town is that you can go to rehab, but those same people are still here doing the same stuff.” It can be difficult to move on from your past when surrounded by reminders of it, this is so very true. Ryan’s wife, Mackenzie, has shared multiple photos (above and below, for example) of Edwards and their new son, Jagger, on Instagram, trying to pretend as if everything went back to normal as soon as he returned home. But it’s clear now this was a facade. Does this mean Mackenzie will leave Ryan at last? Is the marriage in jeopardy? Has she come to her senses? No, no and no, sources say. “She’s going to get over it,” this informant says. “She doesn’t care at this point. She’s all in with him.” That’s pretty sad, huh? Mackenzie may think she’s doing what’s best for her child, but is forgiving Ryan every time he messes up really what’s best for the family? It’s clear he hasn’t learned his lesson and clear he has a significant problem. There’s a fine line between being there at all times for the one you love and enabling a drug addict, you know? Be careful walking it, Mac. As for how Maci Bookout feels about Ryan’s latest run-in with the law? Click below to find out. View Slideshow: Maci Bookout Reacts to Ryan Edwards Arrest: D’uh!
F resh off a year that saw a number of notable firsts for African-Americans, 2019 has already been capitalizing on that momentum and seems set to be a legitimate challenger for one of the most significant set of 12 months in the annals of Black history, especially politically. As this year’s Black History Month gets underway, you could be forgiven for thinking that statement is hyperbole; what with the rich legacy that Black people have established on earth for centuries. But given the current context in which Black and brown folks across the globe and especially in the United States have been living, it’s a safe bet that there is no safe bet for what to expect. It would seem that in this unprecedented time of existence for Black folks, all we have are indicators to go by. And if recent history was any indication of what’s to come, Black people better be prepared for continued rising prominence in a society that has routinely made the mistake of misjudging us. Those under estimations have already manifested themselves in a record number of Black people being sworn into the elected offices they won during last year’s contentious midterm elections. The most diverse class of lawmakers— several of them African-American women who made history as the first to represent their state in the House—have made their collective and individual presence felt on Capitol Hill and beyond during this young year. And while that was in the recent past, it has lasting political implications heading into the future, starting Tuesday when Stacey Abrams was set to deliver the Democrats’ response to Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. Abrams, as you might recall, was the very strong Georgia gubernatorial candidate who was disenfranchised by a corrupt opponent’s voter suppression efforts against his opponent’s supporters. Well, her political performance wasn’t missed by top Democrats, who, aside from tapping her to be the first Black woman to offer a major political party’s State of the Union rebuttal, appeared to be grooming her to launch a Senate run this year. If Abrams does run, she would be the first Black woman from Georgia ever elected to the Senate. But that only accounts for the start of this year, which could lead to a whole lot more political theater, with much of it [reluctantly] starring the president himself. That was because there has been a growing sense of urgency from the newly minted majority House of Representatives that there was no better time to impeach the president. That point was hammered home on Black History Month eve by California Sen. Maxine Waters , who said in no uncertain terms that it was “Past time for impeachment!” When are the people of this country going to wake up to the fact that this president is a disgusting liar, documented to have lied over 8,000 times in 2 yrs? Add to that his recent, blatant lies on our nation's intel chiefs' testimony in the US Senate. Past time for impeachment! — Maxine Waters (@RepMaxineWaters) January 31, 2019 The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) member has made no secret of her disrespect for Trump, who has belittled her every chance he’s gotten. And while the CBC Chair Karen Bass recently told NewsOne that impeachment was not a priority for the Caucus, Waters seemed to indicate otherwise. As Special Counsel Robert Mueller ‘s investigation into possible Russian collusion with Trump heats up, so could impeachment talk spurred on by Black lawmakers. Chicago could also get its first Black woman mayor if Amara Enyia wins. While Enyia was polling behind candidates with more name recognition, if last year taught America anything, it was to never discount Black women. The election is Feb. 26. Continuing in the political realm, there was still much work to do in the arena of social justice, especially as it pertains to Black people. That topic will be on Front Street this weekend when the Super Bowl is played in Atlanta, where police just last week killed an unarmed Black man under suspicious circumstances. That police shooting is colliding with an event celebrating a professional sports league being scrutinized for how it treats its Black players . This could be the perfect opportunity for players who have been silenced to speak out about blacklisted quarterback Colin Kaepernick , whose silent protest of social justice issues have effectively gotten him banned from the NFL. In that same vein, 2019 could finally see some justice for the New York Police Department (NYPD) killing of Eric Garner , which has gone all but unanswered since the deadly episode was captured on a viral video in 2014 showing NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo employing an illegal chokehold on a man who was only guilty of selling untaxed loose cigarettes—a misdemeanor punishable by a fine. Pantaleo’s disciplinary trial has been scheduled for May and he could finally be fired from his six-figure job . On a more positive note, it appeared that the Oscars So White campaign from a couple of years ago has finally paid off, as two movies helmed by Black directors have been nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony next month—the first time that’s ever happened. So even if “ Black Panther ” as well as Spike Lee’s “ BlacKkKlansman ” don’t win the top Oscar, history has already been made and will likely lead to a victory in the near future. In fact, this year’s Oscars is probably the most diverse on record. Oh, and did we mention Cory Booker has joined Kamala Harris as candidates running for president who just so happen to be Black? Harris announced her bid last month on Martin Luther King’s national holiday. Booker announced his on Friday, the start of Black History Month. Coincidence? Roger Mathews is clearly doing his best to remain calm and collected. But you can tell he wants to explode. Earlier this week, estranged wife Jenni Farley posted a very long and very emotional letter on her official website. It trashed Mathews as abuse, listing all the ways he has allegedly mistreated her and their two young children. Is there any truth to these accusations? No, according to Mathews, who thinks he knows why JWOWW conjured them up. Scroll down to read the latest about this troubled couple and to see what Mathews has to say about Farley… 1. The Quick Background… Farley and Mathews got married in October 2015 and share a three-year old son and a two-year old daughter. 2. Farley Filed for Divorce in September 2018 She cited “irreconcilable differences” in the official document. 3. Then, in December… Mathews and Farley got into a verbal confrontation in their home. The police were eventually called and Farley was granted an order of protection against Mathews. 4. Everything Then Remained Calm for About Six Weeks Until Farley simply WENT OFF on Mathews. In a lengthy messages, she referred to him as “manipulative” and “irresponsible,” traits that meant their “children are the ones who suffer as a result.” 5. Here is One Excerpt from Farley’s Letter: THE ALTERED PERCEPTIONS YOU HAVE CREATED FOR YOURSELF ON SOCIAL MEDIA IS TRULY STAGGERING. Here is My Truth… In response to Farley’s pointed accusations, Mathews recorded a video on Thursday night in which he said she is lying, explained WHY she is lying and also included legal documents to back up his case. “You went and got a whole new life, halfway across the world this time,” she said. “But you didn’t give a damn about the people you left behind.” Thursday’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy was an emotional one. Catherine went under the knife for surgery when it emerged that her cancer had to be treated straight away, and Meredith weighed up whether she could say goodbye to her dying father. Meredith was open and honest with Richard, a man who has been instrumental in her career from the get-go. She wanted to be with him while Catherine was in surgery in the event he needed to vent, or if something didn’t quite go to plan. However, Richard told Mer that he didn’t need her during this time and that she would be best visiting her dying father and trying to make peace with him. Meredith wondered about whether she could actually press on and visit the man she hated, and she was in for a surprise when she did. Thatcher was close to death. As such, he had lost lots of weight, was weak and didn’t have much will to live for longer. He decided to quit the treatment plan because his condition was terminal, and he didn’t see much point in trying to prevent the unpreventable. Meredith didn’t know what to say, but that was fine with Thatcher. He went on to list some of the things he did following the last time they saw each other. Thatcher said that Lexie’s death weighed so heavily on him that he started building schools in Zimbabwe and did so until he got sick. He was also sober during that time. That’s when Meredith realized she could not sit and allow him to talk. “You went and got a whole new life, halfway across the world this time,” she said. “But you didn’t give a damn about the people you left behind.” That’s when we were let in on the biggest bombshell of the season: Meredith’s father did return home, but it was for Derek’s funeral. He attended, but Meredith was understandably a bit out of it following the loss of the love of her life. What followed were emotional scenes with the father and daughter finally putting the past behind them, but it wasn’t long before Thatcher passed away. Back at the hospital, Amelia and Koracick were given the green light by Catherine to try and cure her cancer. Things got a little too emotional when Catherine handed Jackson her will because she was fully prepared not to survive the surgery. “I will see you when I wake up,” she promised to her husband, Richard before the surgery commenced. Things were tense throughout the complicated procedure, especially when it emerged that the surgeons could not take out the whole tumor. Richard said they could try doing it piece by piece and that they did. However, they could only remove 95 percent of it, confirming that there was some going to be left over. But this was a win. Catherine could live her life normally … for now, and that was enough for her. “I’ll operate. I’ll hug my son. Make love to my husband. Chase my Harriett,” she said. “Make mistakes. Fight about who gets to pick the movie on date night. You two have given me my life back.” What are your thoughts on how all of it played out? Hit the comments below.
