Praise! Chance The Rapper Going On Sabbatical To ‘Learn The Word Of God’

The Grammy winner announced on Instagram that he will be taking a break from music to better learn the “world of God.” “I’m on a plane headed out the country on my first sabbatical. I’m going away to learn the Word of God, which I am admittedly very unfamiliar with,” the 25-year-old wrote earlier last weekend. “I’ve been brought up by my family to know Christ, but I haven’t taken it upon myself to really just take a couple days and read my Bible.” In addition, he added that he hasn’t always made religion a priority in his life, something he wants to remedy in the next 365 days, thanks to his newborn nephew Charlie Matthew. “I’m definitely guilty of not devoting time to [the Bible.] So I’m off to read and learn because the next generation of Bennett is here and I need to be able to give my nephew Charlie Matthew the knowledge and tools to F–K YALL UP.” Concluding, “But seriously he’s the first boy of the next line and he needs his uncle to be educated.So don’t bother me. I’ll be back soon enough, with five or more books from Bible read.” His Instagram post is also accompanied by a picture of the Chicago-native holding the baby boy in his arms. Take a look: It seems like Chance’s devotion is for real. As the Huff Post pointed out , the rapper’s next social media post was a picture of a page from a Christian devotional he was reading.   It’s no secret that Chance has a special relationship with God , but what is a secret is just how long this sabbatical will be. Charlie Sheen Shocks the World: I’m One Year Sober!

Well, we didn’t see this one coming. Then again, that’s been true of pretty much every news story involving Charlie Sheen for at least the past decade. Everyone’s favorite dragon-blooded warlock from Mars took to Twitter today to reveal that he’s been sober for a full year. Sheen tweeted a photo of his newly-acquired anniversary chip from Alcoholics Anonymous along with a characteristically enthusiastic caption. “So, THIS happened yesterday! a fabulous moment, in my renewed journey,” wrote Sheen. He added the hashtag: “#TotallyFocused.” We’ve joked around over the years about  Sheen being more cocaine than man , but we’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate on adopting a healthier lifestyle. We probably don’t need to tell you that Sheen’s substance abuse caused some problems for the actor over the years. Of course, what’s less talked-about is the fact that the Sheenius apparently had more than a decade of sobriety under his belt at one point. In a 2016 interview with Dr. Oz, Sheen joked that he’d attempted to quit drinking “about 2,000″ times. And it seems that at one point, he was victorious in his battle against the bottle. “There was a stretch where I didn’t drink for 11 years. No cocaine, no booze for 11 years. So I know that I have that in me,” he said. Sheen is HIV positive , and in the same interview, he revealed that it was his diagnosis that caused him to fall off the wagon. “It was to suffocate the anxiety and what my life was going to become with this condition and getting so numb I didn’t think about it,” Sheen told Oz. “It was the only tool I had at the time, so I believed that would quell a lot of that angst. A lot of that fear. And it only made it worse.” To his credit, even in his darkest and most scandalous times, Sheen tends to be more forthcoming about his flaws than most celebs. In the interview with Oz, Sheen was asked to provide three words to describe his old self and three to describe his current self. The actor said he used to be “hammered, fractured, crazy” and is now “focused, sober, hopeful.” Of course, that was in January of 2016, and Sheen celebrated one year of sobriety today, so we can safely conclude that his path to recovery has had its share of roadblocks. But as any addict or recovery expert will tell you, the important thing is to remain focused on sobriety in spite of past failures — and it seems that’s just what Charlie is doing. We wish him all the best.

New CBC Chair: Impeaching Trump ‘Is Not Going To Be Top On Our Agenda’

Source: Paul Morigi / Getty   D emocrats as recently as Sunday appeared ready to pounce on President Donald Trump  after the latest evidence from Special Counsel Robert Mueller ‘s probe suggested the president’s hands were filthy from Russian dirt. And with House Democrats in January taking control of committees directly involved with investigating the president, some incoming committee chairs have talked about the possibility of impeachment. But going after Trump in 2019 was not a priority of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), the group’s newly elected chair Rep. Karen Bass told NewsOne on Monday. “Impeachment is not going to be top on our agenda,” the California congresswoman said during a brief phone conversation. “It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. But at this point in time, we really think that some of the things our community needs are way more important than us going after impeachment now.” Bass’ comments came ahead of an Associated Press report that Democrats were toning down their aggressive rhetoric about impeaching Trump. At least immediately. Jerry Nadler , the incoming chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, recently told the AP . Cohen admitted to overseeing illegal hush money payment to women who allegedly had sexual affairs with Trump in violation of campaign laws. Mueller’s filing also revealed previously unreported contacts between Trump associates and Kremlin representatives seeking to help the Republican nominee secure victory. “There’s a very real prospect that on the day Donald Trump leaves office, the Justice Department may indict him, that he may be the first president in quite some time to face the real prospect of jail time,” California Rep. Adam Schiff , who’s expected to chair the House intelligence committee in January, said Sunday. Still, many Democrats were cautious . For one thing, while they will control the House, Democrats will need Republicans’ support in the Senate to remove Trump. That could be a long way off given how partisan members of Congress have been under Trump. There was also concern about a political backlash similar to what happened to Republicans when they tried to remove President Bill Clinton  in the late 1990s. “I think impeachment might be something we are forced to do as more evidence comes out, but it doesn’t make sense for us to go there first when there’s no way it would be successful now,” Bass said. Joy-Anna Duggar FINALLY Addresses Pregnancy Rumors!

It’s been less than a year since Joy-Anna Duggar welcomed her first child , but fans are convinced she already has another bun in the oven. Adding to the speculation is the fact that for months, there was no official response to the Joy-Anny pregnancy rumors . Joy didn’t respond herself, and no one in her family had anything to say. It was one of those situations in which many felt that Joy’s silence spoke volumes. Surely, if she wasn’t actually pregnant, she would just speak up and set the record straight, right? Well, not necessarily. The Duggars generally keep mum on these types of rumors for a number of reasons. For one thing, they tend to favor a “don’t feed the trolls” approach to coping with internet rumors and criticism. On top of that, such rumors can be good for ratings — particularly when they help to create an aura of mystery. So that may be why Joy has yet to issue a statement on whether or not she’s pregnant: As it is, fans may have to wait until the next new episode of Counting On to find out if she has any big news. Rather than clearing the air with a definitive statement, Joy has further piqued fans’ curiosity with this photo: What exactly is going on here? Well, that’s a surprisingly difficult question to answer. We know that this pic was taken at the Duggars’ annual ugly Christmas sweater party. But fans aren’t all that interested in Joy and Austin Forsyth’s garish patterns — instead, they want to know what’s going on underneath those sweaters. Clearly, Austin is rocking some extra padding for the sake of comedy, but it’s a little less clear what’s happening with Joy. Some fans think they detect a baby bump. Others feel that those fans are falling victim to an optical illusion or being overly critical of a new mother’s body. A third group thinks that both Joy and Austin are sporting fake bellies beneath their ugly sweaters. (We feel compelled to point out that their sweaters aren’t actually ugly, but in the context of an ugly sweater party, that might actually constitute a compliment.) We can’t say for sure, but we’re guessing Joy is loving the confusion. She may not be as rebellious as Jinger or revel in taking down online haters like Jessa, but Joy has a mischievous streak in her. We’re guessing she knew that this pic would create a world of confusion. And we’re guessing that’s exactly why she posed for it. ‘RHOAS11’ Recap: Porsha Brings Dennis To Tears With Her Major News

Source: Jason LaVeris / Getty Tonight’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta is mostly about the Kandi, Dennis, Porsha situation again, as well as the events that go down at NeNe’s couples night event. But let’s dial it back a bit. We start the episode with a glimpse of Leon, in all his forever fine glory. Leon and Cynthia are preparing to see Noelle off to college. She has decided to go to Howard University. Let’s fast forward. Kandi and Porsha actually meet up to discuss Kandi’s spot getting blown up at Cynthia’s wine tasting. Kandi tries to explain herself again. She says she knew two girls that Dennis dated, got the story about the tattoos, and felt the need to bring it up yatta yatta. It’s not like they’re friends. Kandi says she doesn’t want to be in a bad place with Porsha, so why does she keep bringing Dennis’ dating history up behind Porsha’s back knowing dang well it could cause a problem with this group of women? None of it matters though, because Porsha doesn’t care. Nothing will stand in the way of the happiness she is after. Plus, Porsha is really coming from the perspective of, what she doesn’t know won’t hurt her. Anyway, we then meet Tanya again. She’s NeNe’s friend, new satellite character, and a tech entrepreneur. Tanya is rich, full of herself and extra. She seems more RHOP than RHOA but so far she has been fitting in. She’s even going to bring her man to NeNe and Gregg’s couples night out. The theme for the latter is “Boobs and Bourbon.” Now we’re at NeNe and Gregg’s couple’s night event. Everyone comes through. Cynthia brings her friend Marcus. Marlo shows up with a man who resembles BubbaSparkxxx, but she refuses to reveal how they met, and NeNe’s spirited friend, Yavonna, comes through too. Porsha is the last to arrive with Dennis. We’re all nervous because this could go either way since Dennis knows that Kandi has been talking smack about him. However, Dennis keeps it cute and cordial. That crisis is averted but then we get back to Yovana being super extra. It turns out that Yovana and Eva attended Clark Atlanta University together. They don’t know each other but Yovana points out that Eva is good friends with her good friend. By this point, Yovana is already rubbing the girls the wrong way with her brash delivery but then it gets worse when she says she has a problem with Eva. Eva is looking like: Basically, Yovana explains that Eva pretended like they never even met when they first showed up to the dinner. Eva said but she actually doesn’t ever recall meeting her and this sets Yovana off even more. Yovana feels some type of way and states that it’s impossible for Eva to not know her because she was that b–ch in school. Everyone, including Yovana’s fiance, is looking like: NeNe squashes any impending drama with the announcement that they’ve organized a surprise couple’s trip. Aaaaaw shoot! You know it’s about to be some drama, especially if thirsty Yovana shows up! Finally, we end the episode with Porsha celebrating Dennis’ birthday. It’s an extra special celebration because this is when Porsha announces that she’s pregnant. She delivers the news by handing Dennis a gift (and eventually a positive pregnancy test). It’s a box of baby booties and he is so thrilled that he tears up. Porsha is going to have to keep the stress down, which is hard dealing with this group of women. It will be interesting to see how the couple’s trip goes and how they take it when Porsha reveals the news. A n African-American ballerina has broken a major barrier in the realm of dance. According to KSHB , Whitney Huell made history by becoming the first Black ballerina to take on the lead role in the Kansas City Ballet’s Nutcracker performance. For the dancer, it’s all about representation. She hopes taking on the role will inspire other dancers to follow in her footsteps. “I think that it will show young dancers of color that they can do anything,” she said in a statement, according to the news outlet. Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney is excited for Huell to take on the lead role in their production. “I couldn’t imagine a better opportunity than to have the chance to be artistic director and see this come to life, finally, here for Kansas City Ballet. It’s a very important moment for all of us,” he said. Ballerinas like Huell and Misty Copeland are using their platform and artistry to increase the representation of Black dancers in their field. “I understand why I’m important and mean so much to a lot of people,” said Copeland in an interview with Refinery29 . “I have so much pride, and I take on the responsibility willingly. 9 Kids & Counting: Court Documents Reveal Chief Keef Has 4 More Kids With 4 Different Women

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Chief Keef Reveals More Kids With More Women In Court Before today, Chief Keef was known to be the father of 5 children–but now, it looks like he’s actually got some more on the low….a lot more. According to court documents obtained by the people over at TMZ , Keef has 4 more children under the age of 5, and they all have different mothers who are all seeking child support. The reveal of these family additions happened while the rapper was in court, making his official kid count a whopping 9. A judge is now ordering that Chief Keef pay each woman $564 in child support per month, starting in January. As TMZ points out, the “I Don’t Like” rapper could practically fill his own daycare at this point following the reveal of these new children, because all 4 of the recently revealed kids are under the age of 5. Keef’s clan now includes 3-year-old Kamiah, 1-year-old Khalo, and 4-year-olds Khalil and Kirsten. Once again, all different mothers. Though $564 a month doesn’t seem like a whole lot for a rapper’s child support–even when multiplied by 4–this might mean that the Chicago native will have to cut back on some of his expenses. Chief claims he’s a self-employed musician making roughly $9k a month with $9k in expenses, but he’ll have to fit that child support in there somewhere.

Let It Gooo: 10 Classic Shows We’d Rather See On Netflix Besides Friends

False reports have been spreading all month long that the streaming service would be getting rid of Friends as of January 1, 2019. But as we all know, Friends fans will do anything to keep Chandler, Ross, Rachel and the rest of the crew on air as long as humanly possible. According to Entertainment Weekly , “A Change.org petition was even launched begging Netflix to keep the title, calling its removal “unfair, unacceptable and downright inhumane.” Although Netflix had no intention on getting rid of the popular show, they must’ve got wind of the backlash, because the following day it was reported that the streaming service paid $100 million to keep Friends throughout 2019. EW added, “Netflix bought the rights to Friends back in 2014 in a massive deal, shelling out $118 million for the rights for all 10 seasons of the former NBC series. Plus the service digitally remastered every episode for HD streaming. Netflix introduced Friends to a new generation where it became popular all over again as a dose of ’90s nostalgia.” But is it just us, or are there far better shows out there that would probably cost much less than Friends and bring in twice as many viewers? The service has also been criticized for getting rid of content that were predominantly geared toward people of color. @AlsWulf tweeted , “Netflix out here dropping amazing shows that have a positive impact on the minority community like The Get Down due to it being “too expensive”, but drop $100mil on Friends because a certain demographic complained.” @CandaceJeanne also brought up a great point. She wrote, “Dearest @Netflix: Think of all the projects from women, people of color, LGBTQ folks and more that you could fund with that additional $60 million. (I mean, I don’t know how much it costs to make a show but I’m gonna guess it’s at least more than one.)” If Netflix knew what was good for them, they’d listen to millenials and POC — a.k.a. their central audience —about what content folks would like to see on the service.
