Maurice Jones-Drew: Arrested for Battery [Updated]

Maurice Jones-Drew has been arrested and, just to get this out of the way, no: we don’t know how this will affect his fantasy football draft status. According to the police report obtained by TMZ, the Jaguars running back stands accused of hitting a security guard at the Conch House in St. Augustine, Florida… and knocking him unconscious in the process. The altercation took place on Sunday after MJD defended a friend who was told to stop touching a female patron. After the friend took exception to this advice and slapped the guard, a full-on brawl ensued, during which MJD stepped in and slugged a guard who has his pal in a headlock. The victim’s jaw was “”swollen a great deal and had a large lump on his jaw bone,” according to police at the scene, while the guard was found to have bruises and contusions (but no broken bones) upon being hospitalized. No word yet from Jones-Drew or anyone in his camp. UPDATE: Police now admit they screwed up and MJD has not yet been charged with any crime.

Maurice Jones-Drew Charged With Battery After Fighting Security Guard Via TMZ reports: Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew has been charged with battery after allegedly KO’ing a security guard at the Conch House in St. Augustine, FL … TMZ has learned. According to the police report obtained by TMZ, MJD is accused of striking the security guard with a closed fist on the guard’s left cheek, knocking him out. According to cops, the punch was intentional. The incident went down during “Reggae Sundays” at the the Conch House restaurant on May 26. According to the police report, witnesses say … MJD’s buddy was told by security to stop touching a young female. The buddy allegedly “slapped” a security guard on his chest … and a melee ensued. One the security guards reportedly put MJD’s friend in a headlock to stop the fight … and that’s when MJD stepped in and clocked the guard. After the incident, the security guard spoke with police — and cops noted that the guy’s jaw was “swollen a great deal and had a large lump on his jaw bone.” The security guard was hospitalized after the incident — and doctors found contusions and a bone bruise, but no broken bones. Teen Stabs Girlfriend To Death After Argument According to The NY Daily News A Pennsylvania teen stabbed his on-again, off-again girlfriend to death on a town park’s hiking trail after a bitter argument, police said. Tristan Brian Arthur Stahley, 16, is alleged to have knifed 17-year-old Julianne Siller repeatedly in the throat and neck between 9 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. Saturday. Cops claim the pair — who had been seeing each other since January — were walking on a hiking trail in a park in the Philadelphia suburb of Skippack Township when they started arguing. Stahley purportedly freaked out and whipped out an orange-handled knife. His attack was so brutal, police said that they could not yet count how many times he had plunged the knife into her body. He then allegedly hid her lifeless corpse in the woods near the trail, reports The Mercury. But he soon ran home and told his mom he’d broken up with Siller and that he’d killed her. Another relative called the police, who then discovered Siller’s body. The teen was arrested and charged with one count each of first-degree murder, third-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He has been remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bond. More and more young women are becoming victims of domestic situations. Man Hits Four Police Cars While Drunk Driving With Child In Car A North Carolina man made this Memorial Day weekend one to remember after he slammed into 4 police patrol cars while driving drunk with his son in the car. via Fox News Authorities say a drunken driver smashed into four patrol cars and injured two troopers directing traffic near the NASCAR race in Concord. Investigators said Patrick Willis was driving too fast when he exited Interstate 485 around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Authorities say his car hit and jumped a curb and then smashed into four patrol cars on U.S. Highway 29. Officials say two troopers suffered minor leg injuries as they tried to get out of the way. Willis was charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving and child abuse because he was driving with his 9-year-old son. Troopers say Willis’ blood-alcohol content was 0.14 percent, nearly double the legal limit. Sounds like the father of the year. SMH. Shutterstock

This is just disgusting! Michael Clark Duncan’s Grave Vandalized Via TMZ reports: Some racist jerk has desecrated Michael Clark Duncan ‘s grave … this according to a Duncan family rep, who tells TMZ a vandalism report has already been filed with the police. We’re told … a family friend stopped by Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills to deliver flowers to the spot where MCD was interred in Sept. 2012 … when she noticed a figure of a cartoonish black face had been attached to the center of MCD’s tomb. The friend believes the black face is an image of “Sambo” — a character that has long been considered an offensive and racist depiction of a black person. MCD’s friends and family were shocked by the discovery — wondering what kind of lowlife would desecrate Michael’s final resting spot. We’re told the family contacted the LAPD — and were told the incident could be considered a hate crime. Cops are currently investigating the situation. The family tells us … Forest Lawn immediately removed the “Sambo” from MCD’s tomb — but they won’t be satisfied until they find out who violated the tomb. Maybe it was a fan that made him a smiley face and left it for him there. Just cause it’s black doesn’t mean it’s racist Sambos are generally much more realistic looking black statues. We hope no one would be that malicious to leave something like that there!

Amanda Bynes Arrested, Finally

Amanda Bynes was arrested Thursday night in New York City, to the shock of no one. Police were called to her Midtown Manhattan apartment building on suspicion of disorderly conduct. When officers arrived at the scene, they witnessed Bynes throw a bong out of her 36th floor window. Bynes was taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, before getting booked at a Midtown police station. She’s been charged with reckless endangerment, marijuana possession, and felony tampering with evidence. The troubled starlet has been exhibiting bizarre behavior for the past few months and is already serving three years probation for driving with a suspended license.Bynes is also still facing a DUI charge from April 2012.  Follow The Hollywood Gossip as the story develops…

Soulja Boy, Bentley Implicated in Hit-and-Run

Soulja Boy’s Bentley was recently impounded by the LAPD thanks to photos that appear to implicate him (or at least the car) in a serious hit-and-run. Back on January 9, a motorcyclist struck a red Bentley in Hollywood, leaving the biker seriously injured. The Bentley’s driver fled the scene, however. It is believed that its driver made a reckless turn that caused the crash. In any case, a friend of the biker went back to the scene to look around. That’s when he met a valet at Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles who said that he knew the car well, and that it belonged to Soulja Boy. The witness then went to the police, who tapped into their secret database of photos taken by thousands of hidden cameras every day (seriously). In fact, TMZ reports there are private companies that exist solely to convince L.A. citizens and businesses to mount cameras for the database. The average L.A. car, supposedly, is photographed 1,000 times. A day. Back to the topic at hand, police easily got the license plate number of Soulja Boy’s Bentley, ran it through the database and the plot thickened. The crash itself was not captured on video, but images of the Bentley showing damage that corresponded to the accident did show up in photos. Soulja Boy’s Bentley is currently damage-free, and police believe the rapper had the car repaired on the DL to cover up any incriminating evidence. Police got a warrant, believing they had probable cause to believe the Bentley was involved in the accident, and have since impounded the car. Police would still like more evidence, but it’s amazing the kinds of things they can pull from cameras you didn’t even know were filming your every move. Cue ominous, dramatic music.

Another mom needs her a** beat. Mom Offers Son On Craigslist According to The Huffington Post A Texas mother was arrested for allegedly attempting to put her 3-year-old son up for adoption on Craigslist. Stephanie Redus, 29, told authorities that she placed the ad because she struggles with depression and anxiety, CBS Houston reports. She is currently pregnant. The ad stated: “Hi, I’m trying to adopt out my three-year-old son. I’m not in a good place in my life and don’t feel like I can care for him properly, but I don’t know where to start. If you or know anyone who is interested in caring for him please let me know. I’m a single mom and can’t do this. Thanks, Desperate.” The posting, published May 1, has since been removed by Craigslist administrators, NBC News reports. Houston Police Officer D. Thomas questioned Redus on May 9 after locating her through the Craigslist ad. “The defendant stated that she did make the post but never intended to give … [the] child up for adoption,” Thomas stated in the complaint, according to the Houston Chronicle. “The defendant responded that she is pregnant and has not been able to take her medication to combat her depression and anxiety.” Four days later, Redus told authorities that “the posting was to help her with her anxiety.” A neighbor who lives near Redus in Huffman appeared surprised, saying that he thought the boy seemed well cared for. “You’d see him out here playing,” John Kirby told KTRK. “The little boy he goes around riding a little electric police car he’s got.” The children are now with Child Protective Services. Redus is charged with advertising for placement of a child. She is scheduled to appear in court May 21. How do you try to give your child away on Craigslist?

Kim Kardashian Calls Kanye West Gay Rumors Absurd According to Radar Online Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been fighting rumors that her baby daddy Kanye West is gay and getting close to another man and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that she was “horrified” by the comments. “Kim couldn’t even believe that people were saying that Kanye was gay,” a source close to the reality superstar said. “She flat out said that that the rumors and reports are absurd.” A report in a weekly magazine claimed that Kanye was getting close to a man that Kim knows and the two have been spending time together in New York and Paris. And Kanye has previously been linked to the same man, as numerous people commented on the Web. Kim is expecting her first child with Kanye this summer and their relationship has been strained lately so this latest barrage of attacks against him have really tested their romance. Due to their schedules they have spent more time apart then together. Another factor putting stress on their relationship is Kanye’s dislike of photographers following him everywhere when he’s with Kim, who thrives on keeping her name and image in the mainstream public. Earlier this week Kanye flipped out when he bumped his head on a sign, because he was looking down while walking as photographers annoyed him. Now the gay rumors have added more discomfort to the relationship. “These attacks against Kanye really seemed to hit home for Kim,” the source said about the pregnant. “She said that she can take criticism about her weight or her family but when people attack Kanye it really hurts her feelings and makes her mad. “Kim knows that Kanye isn’t gay.
