Space Shuttle Discovery Back On Earth With Seven (7) Crew

About 6 Millions miles of travel the Space Shuttle Discovery returned to Earth in 15 days mission. After making a rare flyover of America’s continent, the Space Shuttle and the seven (7) crew landed smoothly and safely this morning at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The set down which is already a day late due to rain and fog that dispersed as the sun got up. “It was a great mission,” said by Shuttle commander Alan Poindexter. All crews were dropped off tons of supplies and equipment at the International Space Station and returned with a couple of tons of trash and discarded space station equipment. Benjamin Netanyahu Pushes For Sanctions Against Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu advocates for sanctions against Iran so as to prevent it from developing a nuclear weapons capability. He worries that the international community is not acting aggressively enough to prevent Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. There is a possibility that Iran could develop a nuclear weapons program which will become the biggest problem mankind will face in the future. However, the Israeli prime minister denied that their country imports petroleum from Iran. Unlike the leaders of Turkey and Brazil, Netanyahu strongly agrees with the U.S. President Barack Obama for sanctions to be implemented against Iran. There’s no room for giving them another chance and this is the best solution to prevent Iran in developing such harmful nuclear weapons. Boxing: Valero Committed Suicide

The venezuelan world lightweight boxing champion Edwin Valero committed suicide in his prison after being arrested for the murder of his wife. The 28-year-old boxer had confessed that he stabbed his wife Jennifer Carolina Viera de Valero inside a hotel in the city of Valencia on Sunday before he took his own life. It was confirmed by the police officials. Valero’s body was found in his cell hanged using his own clothes and although he showed some vital signs, he soon died, it was stated by the chief police Wilmer Flores Trosel at a state television. The World Boxing Council said that Valero is the only fighter in 30 years of the sport who can be proud of a hundred percent knock out rate from all of his 27 fights. He had gone recently into alcohol rehabilitation and he was detained in March for abusing his wife. Mexico’s Debate Over 10-year-old’s Pregnancy

In Mexico, a 10-year-old pregnant, allegedly raped by her stepfather, has become a bigger issue in the country’s heated abortion debate. The girl’s stepfather has been arrested but there are advocates between the issue say that their war is just starting. Adriana Ortiz-Ortega, a researcher at Mexico’s National Autonomous University says “This girl is much more than an isolated case.” she also added that there is much more influence now from conservative groups that are trying to prevent the legalization of abortion.” In the capital city of Mexico, abortion is legal. But it is prohibited in most of the country’s states. The girl’s home state of Quintana Roo, on the Yucatan peninsula, only allows abortion in cases of rape during the first 980 days of pregnancy. The issues in that the 10-year-old girl is at 17½ weeks, nearly a month away from that limit. There are advocacies that are calling the attention fro federal officials and the United Nations to investigate Quintana Roo’s handling of the cases, acclaiming that the officials did not inform her of her abortion rights. Volcanic ash chaos is not at all disastrous. It has somehow brought a short time benefit to other countries especially in the business sector. Balance of nature as it is, as the business world in Europe shut down along with its major airports, other countries’ businesses who has considered Europe to be their biggest rival has been showered a timely blessing. The salmon industry in Norway and other northern European countries can’t keep up with their orders around the world thus giving New Zealand the chance to cover up for them. One fish farm, New Zealand King Salmon has ten folds of orders just recently. Orchid industry of Holland experienced the same and is having a hard time supplying cut-flowers for weddings in North America therefore New Zealand is coming to the rescue as well. “We are getting strong inquiries for Cymbidium Orchids as the Dutch shippers out of Holland can’t supply the North American start of the May wedding market,” said Greg Keymer, managing director of Eastern and Global, a cut-flower exporter in New Zealand. Steam, Rocks, Ash thrown Out of Iceland Volcano May Cause Slight Warming In Atmosphere

Swedish climate expert said that the Icelandic volcano might cause slight warming in the atmosphere, but not as strong as the Pinatubo eruption in the Philippines in 1991. Philippines’ Pinatubo Volcano was stronger than eruption of Iceland Volcano which throwing all the ashes up into the stratosphere (more than 10,000 meters up in the atmosphere), climate expert Fred Goldberg reported to media. The Iceland Volcano eruption is not as strong and the ashes are therefore not thrown into the stratosphere, but remaining in the troposphere at 5,000 to10,000 meters said by Goldberg who is specifically focuses his research on the relations between Pinatubo volcano and global warming. He added that the incoming sunlight will warm these ash particles, which in turn will warm the surrounding air and therefore may cause a slight warming of the atmosphere.
