In Commentary , Jennifer Rubin attempted to explain why The Jews hate Sarah Palin . (Because they hate Real Americans, is basically her answer.) David Frum rebuts: she is just scary to everyone! Both leave out one hugely important detail. Rubin’s argument (most of which is behind a paywall, so if David Frum has severely misstated it, we apologize!) is basically that American Jews dislike Palin because of all of her bullshit rural working-class signifiers: large family, no formal education, folksy, hunting, etc

We Were Right about Sarah Palin’s Personal Email Account

Remember when someone hacked Sarah Palin ‘s email address (by guessing her security question) and we posted her hacked emails and everyone threw a fit? The Alaska Dispatch just did the same thing! As we argued back in 2008 (so long ago!), the fact that Palin routinely flouted public records laws by conducting state business on a personal Yahoo account made the contents of that Yahoo account newsworthy

John Mackey: Enlightened, Annoying Capitalist

Whole Foods CEO John Mackey is everywhere! Why? Because he owns a hippie grocery store chain, is himself hippieish, and also he is a conservative libertarian dude! That makes the things he has to say newsworthy! Mackey wrote a Wall Street Journal op-ed on health care reform , because his company successfully switched all their employees to cheap, high-deductible plans, and he was pretty sure this solved the health care reform mess, no government help needed. High-deductible health plans are great at making health care consumers more cost-conscious
