Kim Kardashian Kalled Out by Kalifornia Tax Proponents

Kim Kardashian is threatening to take over the 2012 political campaign season. First, Mitt Romney referenced the reality star’s failed marriage in a recent diss of President Obama . Now, an organization of California citizens who are pushing for an initiative in their home state that would raise taxes on millionaire by three to five percent are using Kardashian in an ad. California Citizens Urge: Tax Kim Kardashian! “Not everyone was born a Kardashian, but we all need to pay our fair share,” the spot says, noting that Kim banked $12 million in 2010… but paid just one percent more in taxes than a worker who made $47,000. The Courage Campaign and the California Federation of Teachers are teaming up to raise around $6 billion for public schools and local services through this income tax hike. They hope to get it on the November ballot. “Don’t you think she could pay a little more?” the ad asks of Kim, as images of children, firefighters and an elderly woman flash on screen. “Especially to fund education and critical services?” Do you think Kim Kardashian should pay more taxes?

Iowa Caucus Results: Mitt Romney Wins By Eight Votes Over Rick Santorum!

The closest Iowa caucus results in history produced a near draw, with Mitt Romney winning by just eight votes over Rick Santorum and Ron Paul a close third. Romney, considered the favorite in the Republican presidential race quest, did not notch a commanding win that could have ended the primary process early. However, a win’s a win, and after a year in which one candidate after another sought to be the conservative alternative to him, a pretty impressive one at that. Even more remarkable was the finish of Rick Santorum, whose candidacy was so moribund just weeks ago that many wondered why he was still in the race. The former Pennsylvania Senator was neck-and-neck with Romney, the one-time Governor of Massachusetts, for all of Tuesday night and into this morning. Romney being declared the winner by a mere eight ballots early Wednesday. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was a close third with 21 percent of the caucus votes. “We will go on,” he said in an upbeat speech. “There is nothing to be ashamed of.” The race was so close, Romney couldn’t even claim victory in his speech. With 99 percent of the vote counted, he and Santorum each had 24.6 percent. ‘‘We also feel it’s been a great victory for us here,’’ Romney said early today, before the final votes were tallied. “Onto New Hampshire, we’ve got work to do.” ‘‘Thank you so much Iowa,’’ said Santorum, who is also off to N.H. ‘‘You, by standing up and not compromising ….. have taken the first step of taking back this country.’’ The GOP nominating process continues with the New Hampshire primary next Tuesday, followed by the South Carolina primary Saturday, January 19. The former favors Romney heavily, the latter not so much. Santorum and Newt Gingrich, who placed fourth last night in Iowa, will be contesting it hard. And Ron Paul … you can never count out Ron Paul. You may soon count out Texas Gov. Rick Perry, though. After finishing fifth in Iowa, he announced that he was returning to Texas to assess his candidacy. Last night’s Iowa caucus results: Mitt Romney: 24.6%

With Jesus Not on the Ballot, Duggar Family Endorses Rick Santorum For President

GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has received a celebrity endorsement on the day of the Iowa caucuses. Or 19 of them, to be precise: The Duggar Family! The TLC reality family joined the ultraconservative candidate in Iowa on the campaign trail, where he’s battling Ron Paul and Mitt Romney with mere hours to go. Confession time, though: Santorum is not their first choice. “You may not agree with everything [Santorum] has done,” Jim Bob Duggar said. “But you’re not going to find the perfect candidate unless it’s Jesus Christ running.” Santorum, to the family patriarch, is the next best thing. “He’s somebody that doesn’t take a poll to know where he stands. I’m asking families, Christians all over America, to get behind Rick Santorum for president.” Duggar made his comments in Iowa, where he arrived after packing up a dozen of his kids in a big tour bus, freshly repainted to include Santorum’s name. His wife, Michelle, recovering from the miscarriage of their 20th child , remained home in Arkansas, though is still doing her part, making calls for Santorum’s bid. Jim said he particularly admires Santorum’s stances on abortion and other social issues. “He has a proven track record,” Duggar said in an interview . “He’s a proven Christian Conservative. He has always done what’s right.” “He is somebody that goes and really just votes from his heart and votes on conviction, votes on things based on the Constitution of the United States and the Bible.” “That’s the kind of man we want to support.” So much for separation of church and state.

Mitt Romney Likens Obama Presidency to Kim Kardashian Wedding

Chances Mitt Romney knew who Kim Kardashian was before his speechwriters came up with this line? Not good. Chances you’ll laugh anyway? Very good. The Republican presidential candidate, locked in a tight race with Ron Paul and the surging Rick Santorum leading into Iowa’s caucuses tomorrow, dropped some wit and pop culture knowledge into his stump speech in Council Bluffs on Sunday. Romney drew similarities between President Obama’s campaign promises of four years ago and the wedding vows of Kim Kardashian. Take a look: Mitt Romney Kim Kardashian Joke “I’ve been looking at some video clips on YouTube of President Obama, then-candidate Obama, going through Iowa, making promises,” Mitt Romney said. “I think the gap between his promises and his performance is the largest I’ve seen since, well, the Kardashian wedding and the promise of until death do us part.” ZING! Kim and Kris Humphries famously kalled it quits after just 72 days of marriage last year, a union some say was staged for Kourtney and Kim Take NY . Romney, who will never be accused of having a magnetic personality, has nevertheless loosened up a bit in recent weeks with lines such as this one. The 64-year-old father of five sons, Mitt later credited his daughters-in-law with keeping him in the loop on celebrity gossip . At least he’s honest.

North Korea Residents: REALLY Sad Over Death of Kim Jong-Il

To many Americans, and especially to those behind 30 Rock , Kim Jong-Il was a frightening nut job, a world leader to scoff over and laugh at. But to thousands of thousands of Pyongyang residents, the man was a national hero, which is why they turned out in droves at Kim’s funeral today, crying, screaming and pounding their chests despite frigid weather. Kim Jong-Il Funeral Reactions Kim, who died of a heart attack on December 17, lay inside a black hearse during the three-hour ceremony, as the vehicle was followed by dozens of cars and military trucks that drive past major monuments in the capital. “Even the people, mountains, rivers and the sky are crying for our dear leader,” one solider interviewed by North Korean state TV said at the event. That’s probably because the mountains, rivers and skies couldn’t actually process that Kim Jong-Il was a manipulative, evil human being.

Anthony Weiner Turned on by Men, Yearned for Threesome, Ex-Online Mistress Claims

Traci Nobles REALLY wants a publisher to purchase her proposal for a memoir about her interactions with Anthony Weiner. Nobles, a woman who met the disgraced politician on the Internet and is doing all she can to profit from that experience , supposedly gave an excerpt to Radar Online of one of the conversations she shared with Weiner via Twitter. Is Anthony Weiner smiling here at the thought of a threesome with another dude? Probably not. Nobles says Weiner asked her about “3 ways” with him and “another guy” and, when pressed on whether he’s turned on by men, responded : “Well it depends on the guy, but generally yes.” Of course, there’s no proof that this exchange actually took place. It’s just the word of a woman who carried on a Web-based affair with a married man and is now hoping to write a book about it… versus the word of a popular congressman who ended his career in humiliating fashion because he just had to send photos of his body to random females he had never met. Good luck choosing sides, readers! [Photo: WENN.com]

Two Women, One Pregnant, Throw Down at Occupy Nashville Protest

On Christmas, two protesters at an Occupy Nashville encampment proved that while they may decry the way the 1% bludgeons us commoners in a manner of speaking, they still reserve the right to literally pummel one another. The two women – one of them three months pregnant – exchanged harsh words, which quickly led to hair pulling, punching, and both of them landing on the ground. Watch the disturbing exchange below: Girl Fight at Occupy Nashville
