Bristol Palin Reality Show Hyped With Unintentionally Hilarious Bio

“Bristol Palin is the daughter of Sarah Palin. She got pregnant by accident just as her mom was added to the 2008 Republican ticket, at which point she pretended to be engaged to Levi Johnston, then attempted to cash in on her 15 minutes.” Lifetime’s press release for Bristol Palin’s new reality show COULD say that, and it wouldn’t be incorrect, but alas, their bio is a bit different. Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp (get it?!) premieres on June 19 with two (!) episodes. Here’s Lifetime’s explanation of why you should watch it: “Viewers will get the chance to experience the life of one of America’s most famous young mothers, Bristol Palin, in the new docuseries … showcasing Bristol’s journey growing into womanhood with her young son, Tripp.” “With never-before-granted access to Bristol’s real-life experiences, the show follows her everyday life as a single mother living under intense media scrutiny that comes from her lineage as the daughter of former Alaska Governor and V.P. candidate Sarah Palin .” “The series follows Bristol’s move from Wasilla to Los Angeles with Tripp and her sister Willow, and back to Alaska as she deals with parenting and disciplining her toddler without Tripp’s father.” “Giving viewers a unique look at the difficult decisions she makes for relationships, career and family, Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp will capture how true-to-life challenges test her resolve as she single-handedly writes the next chapter in her and Tripp’s life.” “The former first daughter of Alaska, Bristol has become one of the country’s most high-profile teen mothers after the 2008 birth of Tripp.” “She has since dedicated her life to being a leading advocate for the prevention of teen pregnancy, working with such organizations as the Candie’s Foundation to educate people about the issue.” “In 2010, Bristol appeared on ABC’s hit reality competition series Dancing with the Stars , on which she placed in third. Most recently, she published her New York Times best-selling book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far , which candidly chronicles her public and personal life.” “Bristol also launched her own blog , where readers can get her views and opinions on various topics such as politics, pop culture and parenting.” Eh, our bio is still better. There’s something to be said for brevity. Will you watch Bristol Palin’s new show? [Photo: WENN.com]

‘Battleship’ Vs. ‘What To Expect’: Brooklyn Decker’s Double Feature

With model-turned-actress in two movies opening the same day, we look back at (and forward to) other stars’ box-office twofers. By Amy Wilkinson Brooklyn Decker in “Battleship” Photo: Universal Pictures If you have a thing for busty blondes, we suggest you pencil a double feature into your weekend plans, seeing as model-turned-actress Brooklyn Decker stars in not one, but two movies opening Friday: the blow-’em-up action flick ” Battleship ” and the pregnancy rom-com ” What to Expect When You’re Expecting .” In the Decker vs. Decker showdown, box-office analysts seem to agree that “Battleship” will sink “What to Expect,” though it’s unlikely either will unseat reigning superheroes of the cinema, “The Avengers,” who are eyeing their third first-place weekend. Nonetheless, having two films open on a single day is a neat distinction for the 25-year-old actress, though one that’s not as rare as you might think. Here are a cluster of stars who have pulled theatrical double-duty (or are set to): James Franco Nowadays, you can’t shake a stick at pop culture without James Franco fetching it, but back in the early aughts — following the cancellation of the beloved “Freaks and Geeks” — Franco wasn’t nearly so ubiquitous. Yet he still managed to star in two films opening May 3, 2002: “Spider-Man” and “Deuces Wild.” We probably don’t need to tell you which one snagged all the dollars at the box office that weekend. Christian Kane Big-name stars aren’t the only ones holding a pair. You may recognize Christian Kane from the TNT heist series “Leverage,” or you may know him from a duo of 2004 film roles. On October 8 of that year, he appeared in the film version of “Friday Night Lights” and the Queen Latifah/ Jimmy Fallon comedy “Taxi.” Dakota Fanning No one saw Dakota Fanning in two films opening February 6, 2009, technically speaking, but that’s only because one was animated. The pint-size actress flexed her supernatural skills in the action flick “Push,” while letting her vocals do all the work as the titular heroine of “Coraline.” David Koechner Another actor dabbling in both animation and live-action on a single release date is David Koechner. The “Anchorman” actor hit the pit crew in Will Ferrell’s “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and channeled his inner-animal as the voice of a coyote in the animated “Barnyard,” all on August 4, 2006. Samuel L. Jackson The most recent two-for-one special comes courtesy of the prolific Samuel L. Jackson, whose “Avengers” continues to hammer the competition. But did you know his crime drama “Meeting Evil” (based on the novel by Thomas Berger) also opened May 4? Yeah, we didn’t think so. Channing Tatum Maybe it’s a sign of the apocalypse (or, at the very least, a trend) that four actors had or will have two movies opening on the same day in 2012. Like Decker, Tatum is hitting nearly every demographic with his titillating twofer. On June 29, the 32-year-old will suit up as Duke for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and strip down as an exotic dancer for “Magic Mike.” Leonardo DiCaprio Leonardo DiCaprio’s Christmas present to America this year is himself. Twice over. The actor stars in two films opening December 25: “The Great Gatsby” and “Django Unchained.” Which one will egg-nog-fueled audiences choose to unwrap? Only Santa knows for sure. Ashton Kutcher Popchips Ad Pulled Admist Racism Outcry

For a phony online dating ad – in which he stars on behalf of his role as Popchips’ “president of pop culture” – Ashton Kutcher dons multiple costumes and pretends to be four different eligible bachelors. There’s a character named Raj, for example, that features the actor in brown face and and with an Indian accent. And while it’s all meant to be in good fun, many on the Internet have not reacted with laughter. Ashton Kutcher Dating Site Commercial “I can’t imagine I have to explain this to anyone in 2012, but if you find yourself putting brown makeup on a white person in 2012 so they can do a bad “funny” accent in order to sell potato chips, you are on the wrong course,” wrote Anil Dash , a tech blogger, in response to the spot. “Make some different decisions.” And Popchips now has: the company has pulled the ad from YouTube and Facebook, while releasing the following statement: “The new Popchips worldwide dating video and ad campaign featuring four characters was created to provoke a few laughs and was never intended to stereotype or offend anyone. At Popchips we embrace all types of shapes, flavors and colors, and appreciate all snackers, no matter their race or ethnicity. We hope people can enjoy this in the spirit it was intended.” What do YOU think? Should the spot have been removed from the Internet?

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Starships’ Video ‘May Be Too Saucy For TV’

Rapper says the clip is done and should drop next week. By John Mitchell Nicki Minaj Photo: Getty Images Apparently, getting it just right is more important than keeping it especially timely. Nicki Minaj ‘s smash single “Starships” has been burning up the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks now, peaking at #5 a few weeks back and currently holding it down at #7. The pop-dance track was the official lead single (“Roman Holiday” and “Stupid Hoe” were promo singles) from her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which debuted at #1 two weeks back. All of which makes the fact that there’s been no official video release for the buzz-heavy track seem all the more glaring. Heck, she’s already released the video for “Beez in the Trap,” technically the album’s third single after “Starships” and “Right by My Side” featuring Chris Brown. So when will we finally see the “Starships” video? Pretty soon, according to Minaj. “It’s officially done,” Nicki told the U.K.’s Capital FM . “There was just one tiny little thing I wanted to change, but I know at the beginning of next week you guys will see it.” But watch out, Nicki warns: “It may be too saucy for TV.” Pictures of the rap/pop superstar hard at work on the clip surfaced in mid-March, showing Nicki looking amazing while sporting green hair and a pink bikini as she filmed in an exotic location. At the time, Minaj told MTV News that seeing girls sporting her unique style has been an exciting byproduct of her fame. “I guess I am pop culture, just because what I’m doing seems to be popular. When people want to do what you’re doing, it’s kinda popular,” she said. “I don’t ask girls to wear pink hair; they just do it. It’s not about black or white; I think it’s just a statement. It doesn’t matter which color you are; it’s just a statement of being fearless.” What are you expecting from Nicki’s “Starships” video? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Nicki Minaj

Warren Buffett Reveals Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Warren Buffett, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and one of the richest men in the world, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The 81-year old made the announcement yesterday in a statement that reads: “I received my diagnosis last Wednesday. I then had a CAT scan and a bone scan on Thursday, followed by an MRI today.” “These tests showed no incidence of cancer elsewhere in my body. My doctors and I have decided on a two-month treatment of daily radiation to begin in mid-July. This regimen will restrict my travel during that period, but will not otherwise change my daily routine.” Buffett says his energy level is “”100%,” but he understands the fear of investors and has attempted to quell them by saying he’s named a successor to his post. He will alert them to this individual’s identity if his health declines dramatically, but believes “that day is a long way off.” We wish the financial guru a full recovery and, in the meantime, the public can expect to hear his name brought up often throughout the 2012 President election, as Barack Obama is on the campaign trail right now, advocating for Congress to pass The Buffett Rule, which would increase tax rates on investments/millionaires. We doubt Ted Nugent is in favor of it.

The Situation to Get Comic Book Treatment

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s … The Situation. According to Wizard World Inc., the Jersey Shore star has signed a publishing, development and appearance deal to create and publish a comic book based on Sitch . “MPS Entertainment and I are thrilled about our new relationship with Wizard World. I grew up reading comic books and now I get a chance to star in my own. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we are working on,” said Sitch, a.k.a. Mike Sorrentino . We know, we thought this was a joke at first too. Added John Macaluso, the CEO of Wizard World: “Wizard World is so excited to partner with one of pop culture’s greatest stars. Mike will broaden our relationships with celebrities to new areas that leverage our access to the media, the fans, and especially our ability to bring comic book characters to life.” The series of comic books based on stories by Mike and his family will be written and drawn by some of the comic book industry’s leading artists and writers. You can even catch the soon-to-be illustrated family on tour, as they are slated to appear at several Wizard World conventions to promote their characters. No word on whether Mike’s super powers will entail the ability to survive with BAC over 0.5 or extreme tendencies to stir up drama where there is none. [Photo: WENN.com]

His single “Magic” peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B charts, and his next record, “Same Damn Time,” is starting to bubble as well. It spawned singles like “Ha” and the rump-shaking “Back That Azz Up.” Juvie left CMR in 2002 and has largely carried on by himself. He dropped his last solo album, Beast Mode, in 2010 and earlier this year released his Mardi Gras mixtape with DJ Smallz. Now you can’t have a party without DJ Khaled . Since 2006, the Miami representative has been carving his lane as a hitmaker. Tupac Hologram May Be Coming To An Arena Near You

Visual-effects house behind the 2-D image tells Wall Street Journal that Dr. Dre has a vision beyond Coachella for his virtual friend. By Kara Warner Tupac’s hologram at Coachella Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Tupac Shakur has made quite an impact on pop culture since his death in 1996, so we shouldn’t be too surprised that his eye-popping and downright magical materialization at the Coachella music festival on Sunday night alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre is dominating the headlines. The spectacular surprise has caused such a stir that there’s a chance we might be seeing a lot more of this “new” Tupac very soon. According to a Wall Street Journal interview with Ed Ulbrich of Digital Domain Media Group Inc., the visual-effects house responsible for making the rapper’s image (as well as the virtual versions of Brad Pitt in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”), there are plans to take the 2-D image on tour. (Although ‘Pac’s ghostly figure has been widely reported as a hologram, Ulbrich told the Journal that its technical description is a 2-D image and not a hologram, which is 3-D.) Moving forward with discussions of a tour are representatives for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg who, according to a source close to the project, will be meeting to discuss the logistics involved in scheduling a string of performances with the virtual Tupac. The report cites one option would be to tour in stadiums and involve other hip-hop stars like Eminem, 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa. Another option is a limited tour that would only feature Dre, Snoop Dogg and the virtual Tupac in smaller arenas. “We worked with Dr. Dre on this, and it was Dre’s vision to bring this back to life,” Nick Smith — president of AV Concepts, the San Diego company that projected and staged the image — exclusively told MTV News on Monday (April 16). “It was his idea from the very beginning and we worked with him and his camp to utilize the technology to make it come to life. … You can take their likenesses and voice and … take people that haven’t done concerts before or perform music they haven’t sung and digitally re-create it.” “This is not found footage. This is not archival footage. This is an illusion [and] this is just the beginning,” Ulbrich told the Journal. “Dre has a massive vision for this.” Do you want to see virtual ‘Pac in concert?
