By Terri Schwartz Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Natalie Portman has had one of the biggest years of her career in 2010, but it looks like 2011 is going to be even bigger. Portman is engaged to her boyfriend, choreographer Benjamin Millepied, and the two are expecting their first child, according to People. The two met during production of “Black Swan,” where Millepied acted as choreographer and Portman’s onscreen dance partner, and the two started dating in early 2010. This will be the first marriage and first child for Portman. When Millepied spoke to Details magazine in June about Portman, he said he was “blown away” by her acting abilities and that she was “amazing to watch.” But he did add that the two of them were trying to keep their relationship private. “It’s … everybody’s asking us,” he said. “We just want to keep things to ourselves.” In addition to her exciting personal news, 2011 is also looking bright professionally. Portman is nominated for her third Golden Globe for “Black Swan,” her first nomination for a leading role. She is likely to also be nominated for her first Oscar in a leading role and is one of the front-runners to win it. She also has three big films headed to theaters: the romantic comedy “No Strings Attached,” the medieval drug comedy “Your Highness,” and the latest Marvel film “Thor.” Share your well-wishes for the couple in the comments! Natalie Portman to Spread the Plague of Non-nude Sex Comedies

After putting in a disappointingly non-nude (but Golden Globe-nominated) performance as a bi-curious ballerina in Black Swan , Natalie Portman has now announced plans for a female comedy production company that looks dubious at best. Natalie has long been a critic of Mr. Skin’s life work. Earlier this year, she swore off all future nude scenes and told Elle UK , “I’m definitely not a prude about sex or nudity, I just don’t want do something that will end up in a screen grab on a porn site.” And now the actress is creating a new production company to make “raunchy” female sex comedies that sound like they’ll have less nudity than Saudi Arabian Sesame Street . “There’s a difference,” Natalie told Vogue , “between being in a bra and underpants as an object on a men’s magazine cover and playing yourself – a woman with desires and needs who loves and laughs with her friends – in a bra and underpants.” Who said anything about a bra and underpants?

‘Black Swan’: The Reviews Are In!

One critic gushes that the psychological drama and its star, Natalie Portman, are ‘unmissable and unforgettable.’ By Eric Ditzian Natalie Portman in “Black Swan” Photo: Fox Searchlight Only folks in eight select major metropolitan cities across North America will have a chance to see “Black Swan” this weekend. And as for the weekend after that, unless you’re a proud resident of, say, Detroit or happen to be swooping into St Louis for a little holiday, you’ll still be out of luck. The rest of the country will have to wait a full two weeks from now, as Fox Searchlight slowly rolls out this Oscar darling about the ultra-competitive world of professional ballet. Is it any consolation to say that even if you can’t see “Black Swan” this weekend, you can at least read the thoughts of those who have? Well, you can, because reviews for Darren Aronofsky’s follow-up to “The Wrestler” have been pouring in. Here’s what the critics are saying about “Black Swan.” The Story “Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) has obsessively perfected her flawless technique at an unnamed New York company for years when she’s finally considered for the lead in an upcoming production of ‘Swan Lake.’ As her manipulative artistic director, Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel), observes, Nina possesses all the innocence and self-control of the Swan Queen, but his ‘stripped-down, visceral’ version of the ballet demands that she also portray the Black Queen. She’s a sinuous, primal persona he doesn’t think Nina can pull off. It’s difficult to disagree: With her breathy whisper of a voice, cosseted home life with overprotective mother Erica (Barbara Hershey) and wide-eyed sexual na

30 Seconds To Mars’ Jared Leto Clears Up ‘Hurricane’ Controversy

Short film wasn’t banned on MTV, contrary to reports. By James Montgomery 30 Seconds to Mars’ Jared Leto in “Hurricane” Photo: EMI On Sunday, hours before 30 Seconds to Mars’ long-awaited “Hurricane” short film was set to premiere on MTV and MTV.com, Jared Leto took to his blog to post a lengthy list of “issues” an unnamed network had with the mini-movie. The list was as detailed as it was long (sample entry: “09:17 — Woman’s finger running over other woman’s bottom in G-String and touching anus — COMPLETELY RESTRICTED”), but the point Leto was making was pretty clear. And just in case it wasn’t, he spelled it out in the title of his blog post: ” ‘Hurricane’ Banned From Television.” That led to several reports stating that MTV had banned the “Hurricane” clip, which, as it turns out, wasn’t actually true. In fact, the letter he posted on his blog wasn’t even from MTV, as he explained Wednesday (December 1) in an e-mail to MTV News. “The standards notes I posted are not from MTV USA, they are from another channel entirely. One of MANY, actually, that sent long lists of what was required to be censored in order to secure air time around the world,” he wrote. “MTV’s list was actually rather light compared to others. MOST channels around the world flat out restricted us completely from any ‘daytime play’ at all, relegating the film to graveyard-shift viewing only.” That said, “Hurricane” was pulled from MTV’s on-air rotation subsequent to its premiere, but, as Leto put it, not because the network had banned the film. Rather, as he said in a separate phone interview with MTV News, “There are some edits that need to be made … there is some footage that remained in the cut that was, I guess, overlooked.” In a statement to MTV News, a spokesperson for MTV added that the channel would return “Hurricane” to its on-air lineup once the edit had been made. “Contrary to various erroneous reports, the video has not been banned from MTV,” the statement read. “The video is currently available on MTV.com and will return to on-air rotation shortly.” For his part, Leto remains rather mystified about the entire thing. To hear him tell it, there’s nothing in “Hurricane” that’s particularly controversial, and he never intended for the video to stir up this much outrage. “I never set out to make a controversial film. I didn’t set out to make a film that would get banned — as it has — from several networks around the world, and restricted to nighttime broadcast,” he said. “I didn’t really have those things in mind, I really just set out on this journey and followed my creative instinct to tell the truth. “I think with a piece of work like this, this all becomes part of the process — whether it’s a song or a show or a film — it all brings us on this journey, and, this just happens to be part of the journey of ‘Hurricane,’ this controversial, banned little film,” he added. “I didn’t expect all this to happen, but it’s a good thing that it happens, only because of the conversation that it may provoke, about these sort of things, and looking at art and creative expression and weighing that against protecting the viewers from the exhibition of certain behaviors.” Have you watched “Hurricane” yet? Natalie Portman Recalls ‘Awkward’ Mila Kunis Sex Scene In ‘Black Swan’

‘I didn’t really think through the fact that I was going to have to have sex with her,’ she tells MTV News of suggesting her good friend for the role. By Brianne Riviello, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Natalie Portman Photo: MTV News Darren Aronofsky’s much-anticipated “Black Swan,” which is set to hit theaters Friday, has the movie world abuzz. The ballet flick, starring Natalie Portman as Nina Sayers, promises to be both disturbingly dark and stunningly beautiful, as the prima ballerina fights for the coveted lead role in “Swan Lake.” When a new dancer, Lily (Mila Kunis), vies for the top spot, Portman’s character is swept into an intense psychological competition, rife with sexual connotations, including the much buzzed-about love scene between Portman and Kunis . From what we’ve seen, the battle of the wills between the dancers is ruthless, and their ensuing sexual encounters are equally intense. One would be hard-pressed to believe that Portman and Kunis are, in fact, close friends in real life. When MTV News caught up with the lead actress recently, she discussed the experience of shooting such difficult scenes with someone she knew so well. Portman was quick to praise her friend in the villainous role, revealing that it had been her suggestion to Aronofsky that led to Kunis being cast in the part. “It was really crazy, because Mila and I were very good friends,” she said. “And when Darren asked me, ‘Who do you think could do this part? Who has sort of a similar height, coloring, physique?’ I was like, ‘Oh, Mila, Mila, Mila!’ He met her and obviously flipped over her, and she’s super talented and does an amazing job in the movie.” Portman later realized what the pairing would entail, however. “I didn’t really think through the fact that I was going to have to have sex with her in the movie,” she admitted. The actress revealed that it was slightly uncomfortable to work on those scenes but said that having Kunis around was a positive experience as well. “It was pretty awkward. I almost feel like it would be easier to do it with someone you didn’t know,” she said. “But, having said that, it was great to have a friend there who, we could laugh and make jokes and get over it together.” Despite Aronofsky’s efforts to increase the rivalry by separating the pals on set, the pair stayed in close contact. “He didn’t want us to be friends while we were shooting, because we’re rivals in the movie,” Portman said of the director. “So we both had to do this ballet training, but he would make it at different times, and then he would tell me, ‘She’s doing really well,’ and then tell her, ‘Natalie’s doing so much better than you,’ ” she laughed. “But we would share the information, so we were like, ‘He’s messing with us. This isn’t real, this isn’t real.’ ” Check out everything we’ve got on “Black Swan.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Natalie Portman Busts Out Some Cleavage

When you think of chicks with busting out cleavage, I’m pretty certain that Natalie Portman doesn’t immediately come to mind, but that’s exactly what’s happening in these pictures. Here she is at the premiere of Black Swan , I’ve never heard of it either, in a dress that seems to be just tight enough to squeeze what little breasts she’s got perfectly out of the top like a sexy tube of toothpaste. I obviously have no idea how she’s doing it, but I’m glad it’s happening. more pictures of Natalie Portman here

Natalie Portman Talks ‘Black Swan’ Masturbation Scene

‘So disgusting,’ still-squeamish actress tells MTV News of filming scene. By Kara Warner and Irene Lee, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Natalie Portman in “Black Swan” Photo: Fox Searchlight “Black Swan” has been generating awards-season buzz for months, much of it focused on Natalie Portman’s chilling performance as a self-destructive and psychologically unstable ballerina, Nina Sayers. When the movie opens this Friday, audiences will finally get to see the physical and emotional extremes that Portman portrays onscreen. One of the more memorable physical moments involves an especially graphic scene in which Portman’s character is masturbating and nearly gets caught by her mother. When MTV News caught up with the possible Best Actress contender, we asked for her thoughts on that part of the film.

Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis Support Co-Star James Franco As Oscar Host

‘They’re going to do a great job,’ Kunis says of Franco and co-host Anne Hathaway. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Natalie Portman at the 2010 Gotham Awards Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images News broke Monday morning that Anne Hathaway and James Franco had been tapped to host the 83rd annual Academy Awards , but those reports never reached two of Franco’s co-stars. That evening, at the red-carpet premiere for “Black Swan” in New York, MTV News asked Natalie Portman, who stars alongside Franco in the upcoming comedy “Your Highness,” what she thought of the hosting news. “I didn’t hear about that!” she told us. “That’s awesome. That’s really cool.” Earlier in the day, Franco’s “Date Night” co-star Mila Kunis (who also happens to star with Portman in “Black Swan”) stopped by the MTV Newsroom, and when we asked for her thoughts on the Oscar development, she too confessed she hadn’t heard. “What? That’s awesome,” she said. “I think they’re going to do a great job.” Both women will likely be on hand for the festivities, as “Black Swan” is a front-runner to nab nominations in a slew of categories, from Best Picture to Best Actress for Portman. There’s even an outside chance Kunis could reel in a Best Supporting Actress nomination. Franco, meanwhile, has been a leading contender for an acting nod based on his turn as a trapped hiker in “127 Hours.” How his hosting duties will affect his chance of receiving a nomination and then winning the award is anyone’s guess. All Portman knows is that with Franco and Hathaway emceeing the ceremony, the 83rd Oscars should be a whole lot more entertaining than past versions of the show. “That’ll be more fun to watch than usual,” she said. Natalie Portman Still Feels ‘Aftershocks’ Of ‘Black Swan’

‘It was the first thing I’ve ever done that was this physically demanding on top of an emotionally demanding part,’ she tells MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Natalie Portman in “Black Swan” Photo: Fox Searchlight For as beautiful and ethereal as the world of ballet appears to be, whether via live performance or in movies, Darren Aronofsky and Natalie Portman have gone to great lengths to shatter that pristine exterior in their new film, “Black Swan,” which arrives in theaters Friday. When MTV News caught up with Portman, we asked her what she went through in order to get into her character’s dark and disturbing world. “It was really extreme,” Portman said of her physical commitment to the role. “And I definitely felt both physical and mental aftershocks from the experience, because it was the first thing I’ve ever done that was this physically demanding on top of an emotionally demanding part,” she said. “And it’s great. I mean, the kind of discipline that it demands also puts you in that space for the acting part. But yeah, it affects you in ways. I’ll probably figure out how it affected me in, like, five years. I’ll look back and go, ‘Oh, that’s why I did that and that and that.’ ” Portman also said that, although she and Aronofsky first discussed the project nearly a decade ago, she needed more age and experience to tap into certain aspects of her character. “For me, it’s really about someone going from a position, an artistry where you’re trying to please other people, to a position where you’re finding pleasure yourself,” she said. “And Vincent [Cassel]’s character, though it seems that he’s sort of puppeteering this character, he is really guiding her towards becoming an artist and is really teaching her how to find her own pleasure and make a true expression of herself, that it’s about her.” The 29-year-old went on to say that she related to her character finally realizing that it’s not her job to make others happy. “It’s about breaking out of a system where you’re easily replaceable by the next girl who looks like you. And I feel like my 20s were about that, and probably into my future, I’m sure it’ll continue being that way,” Portman said. “But the older you get, the less you care about what other people think and the more you just want to be your true self and express your true self.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Black Swan.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
