Their live DVD concert special, “Up All Night: The Live Tour,” is #1 in 25 countries across the globe, including the United States. According to the band’s label, the DVD is topping the sales charts in Canada, the U.K., Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Finland, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Turkey. “We’re blown away by the success of the DVD all around the world and want to thank everyone who has gone out and bought it, the support means so much to us,” Niall Horan said in a statement. “It was lots of fun filming the concert for the DVD, so we’re chuffed [pleased] all the fans love it so much.” As if that weren’t enough of an accomplishment, the guys also broke a sales record. The DVD outsold this week’s #1 album, John Mayer’s Born and Raised , making it the first #1 DVD to outsell a #1 album in the U.S. The 1D DVD sold 76,000 copies while Mayer sold 65,000 units in its second week on the top of the Billboard albums chart. Stateside, it marks the highest debut of 2012 and the second-highest debut of the past five years This is the second time the band has broken a sales record. In March, when they released their album Up All Night , they were the first British group to have their debut album bow at #1 on the Billboard chart. While the guys are currently celebrating their latest chart achievement and touring North America , they are also working on new music. According to the press release, they are hitting the studio to record their sophomore follow-up to Up All Night. Earlier this week, One Direction were rumored to be the subject of their own 3-D big-screen spectacle . Although no one from their camp has confirmed the rumor, the film would either be a Monkees-style comedy or a documentary. The Los Angeles Film Festival unveiled its lineup of nearly 200 features, shorts and more today. This year’s event, which comprises work from 30 countries, will open with the North American premiere of Woody Allen’s To Rome With Love ( as previously announced ), while the world premiere of Warner Bros.’ Magic Mike by Steven Soderbergh will close out the festival, which runs June 14 – 24 at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles. Other gala events include Lorene Scafaria’s Seeking a Friend for the End of the World , Ava DuVernay’s Middle of Nowhere and Benh Zeitlin’s Beasts of the Southern Wild. And people say the rap game is cold and heartless. According to TMZ, Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka have teamed up to give Slim Dunkin – seen above at Gucci’s video shoot the day before he died – a funeral truly befitting of a member of their iced-out crew. Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane are throwing down big $$$ to cover funeral expenses for a fellow Atlanta rapper — who was brutally gunned down last week — lavishing their fallen comrade with elaborate memorial arrangements. Rapper Slim Dunkin — real name Mario Hamilton — was shot and killed Friday night inside an Atlanta recording studio … after a verbal altercation with an unidentified man turned deadly. Now, a rep for Waka and Gucci tells TMZ, the rappers are pooling their assets to ensure Slim is laid to rest in the best way possible … with an elaborate funeral that includes a white horse-drawn carriage, massive white floral arrangements, and a white dove release ceremony. We’re told Slim’s family will cover some funeral costs — but Waka and Gucci are paying for the lion’s share. As ghetto fabulous as this sounds, you gotta appreciate the sentiment. Four former NFL players are suing the league over long-term injuries they say were caused by concussions they suffered as athletes. The suits were filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court in Atlanta on behalf of Jamal Lewis, Dorsey Levens, Fulton Kuykendall and Ryan E. Stewart. The men, all Fulton County residents, say they suffer from memory loss, headaches and sleeplessness as a result of multiple traumatic brain injuries during their careers. The suits allege that the NFL was negligent in its research of head injuries and concussions and downplayed the link between concussions and brain damage. The league also is accused of fraud for materially misrepresenting the risk to players, failing to warn them and not adequately protecting them. Here are a few details about the players involved Lewis, 32, a former running back for the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns, concluded a 10-season career in 2009. The 10,000-yard rusher was born in Atlanta and attended Douglass High. Levens, 41, also a former running back, played 11 seasons, ending in 2003. He had stints with the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants after attending Georgia Tech. Former Falcons linebacker Kuykendall, 58, played with Atlanta from 1975 to ‘84 and spent the 1985 season with the San Francisco 49ers. Stewart, 38, played five seasons at safety for the Detroit Lions after his collegiate career at Georgia Tech. He is currently one half of the “Two Live Stews” sports talk radio team on Atlanta’s 790 the Zone. All of the former players are demanding a jury trial and seeking payment for medical expenses, past and future loss of earnings, general damages for pain and suffering, punitive damages and attorneys’ fees. According to TMZ reports : Floyd Mayweather Jr. got hammered by a judge, who just sentenced him to serve 90 days in jail for beating up his baby mama in front of their kids. Floyd was sentenced to 6 months in jail, but 3 months of that sentence was suspended. He also gets 3 days credit for time he has already served. TMZ broke the story … the boxer was arrested in September 2010 — after his ex-girlfriend accused him of striking her “multiple times in the head with his fist” and then threatening to kill her. Floyd struck a plea deal with prosecutors in the case — in which he pled guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence … in exchange for getting a pass on the felony battery charge. Floyd also pled no contest to two misdemeanor harassment charges — after allegedly threatening to beat his kids too during the incident. The judge was especially pissed that Mayweather struck his baby mama in front of their kids. The judge also ordered Mayweather to complete 100 hours of community service and a 12-month domestic violence program. He was fined $2,500 … which to Floyd is like a poker hand.
