One Direction Smash Sales Record With ‘Up All Night’ DVD

Group’s concert DVD is currently #1 in 25 countries and has become the first #1 DVD to outsell a #1 album in the U.S. By Jocelyn Vena One Direction Photo: Getty Images One Direction seem fated to always top the charts, if the latest news is any indication. Their live DVD concert special, “Up All Night: The Live Tour,” is #1 in 25 countries across the globe, including the United States. According to the band’s label, the DVD is topping the sales charts in Canada, the U.K., Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Finland, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Turkey. “We’re blown away by the success of the DVD all around the world and want to thank everyone who has gone out and bought it, the support means so much to us,” Niall Horan said in a statement. “It was lots of fun filming the concert for the DVD, so we’re chuffed [pleased] all the fans love it so much.” As if that weren’t enough of an accomplishment, the guys also broke a sales record. The DVD outsold this week’s #1 album, John Mayer’s Born and Raised , making it the first #1 DVD to outsell a #1 album in the U.S. The 1D DVD sold 76,000 copies while Mayer sold 65,000 units in its second week on the top of the Billboard albums chart. Stateside, it marks the highest debut of 2012 and the second-highest debut of the past five years This is the second time the band has broken a sales record. In March, when they released their album Up All Night , they were the first British group to have their debut album bow at #1 on the Billboard chart. While the guys are currently celebrating their latest chart achievement and touring North America , they are also working on new music. According to the press release, they are hitting the studio to record their sophomore follow-up to Up All Night. Earlier this week, One Direction were rumored to be the subject of their own 3-D big-screen spectacle . Although no one from their camp has confirmed the rumor, the film would either be a Monkees-style comedy or a documentary. Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane are throwing down big $$$ to cover funeral expenses for a fellow Atlanta rapper — who was brutally gunned down last week — lavishing their fallen comrade with elaborate memorial arrangements. Rapper Slim Dunkin — real name Mario Hamilton — was shot and killed Friday night inside an Atlanta recording studio … after a verbal altercation with an unidentified man turned deadly. Now, a rep for Waka and Gucci tells TMZ, the rappers are pooling their assets to ensure Slim is laid to rest in the best way possible … with an elaborate funeral that includes a white horse-drawn carriage, massive white floral arrangements, and a white dove release ceremony. We’re told Slim’s family will cover some funeral costs — but Waka and Gucci are paying for the lion’s share. As ghetto fabulous as this sounds, you gotta appreciate the sentiment. Now, if we could just get one of the 20-30 people who were in the studio with Slim when he got shot over some dumb isht to come forward…

Lawsuits: 4 Ex-NFL Ballers Are Suing The League For Negligence In Post-Concussion Treatments

Playas gonna play, ballers gonna ball, and injured ballers gonna sue yo’ a$$!! Four former NFL players are suing the league over long-term injuries they say were caused by concussions they suffered as athletes. The suits were filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court in Atlanta on behalf of Jamal Lewis, Dorsey Levens, Fulton Kuykendall and Ryan E. Stewart. The men, all Fulton County residents, say they suffer from memory loss, headaches and sleeplessness as a result of multiple traumatic brain injuries during their careers. The suits allege that the NFL was negligent in its research of head injuries and concussions and downplayed the link between concussions and brain damage. The league also is accused of fraud for materially misrepresenting the risk to players, failing to warn them and not adequately protecting them. Here are a few details about the players involved Lewis, 32, a former running back for the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns, concluded a 10-season career in 2009. The 10,000-yard rusher was born in Atlanta and attended Douglass High. Levens, 41, also a former running back, played 11 seasons, ending in 2003. He had stints with the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants after attending Georgia Tech. Former Falcons linebacker Kuykendall, 58, played with Atlanta from 1975 to ‘84 and spent the 1985 season with the San Francisco 49ers. Stewart, 38, played five seasons at safety for the Detroit Lions after his collegiate career at Georgia Tech. He is currently one half of the “Two Live Stews” sports talk radio team on Atlanta’s 790 the Zone. All of the former players are demanding a jury trial and seeking payment for medical expenses, past and future loss of earnings, general damages for pain and suffering, punitive damages and attorneys’ fees. Do you think these players have a legit case? Should the NFL be doing more to protect the players that make them so much money? Source More On Bossip! Vanessa Vs. Put On Blast: Mack Maine’s Baby Mama Says She’s Tired Of His Deadbeat Verbally Abusive No Child Support Paying Ways

SMH… It’s a damn shame how these rappers like to floss like they are super paid, good thing they have baby mamas to tell it like it really is , riiiiiight? We received an email this afternoon from a woman named Erin who says she is the mother of Young Money president Mack Maine’s son. Check out what she had to say about his deadbeat daddy ways: My name is Erin. I am writing you because i am simply fed up with my sons father Mack Maine ( Jermaine). I am sure you know he is the President and CEO of Young Money Records. I filed child support due to the fact that he refuses to offer any type of financial support to me and my son. He at one point was giving us only $500 a month! he claims he’s broke and cannot afford to pay more. He also says that wayne has him working so much that he cannot even spend time with his 7 year old son. He is very aware of what he is doing and the straw that broke the camels back was when he refused to send money for our sons Christmas presents this year. I am a single mother who is currently unemployed. I dropped out of college seven years ago to have our son and now that he is older I am trying to pursue my bachelors degree. I am a full time student do I cannot work full-time and he knows this. He calls me a broke b*tch. He says I beg him for money too much. He has threatened me in text messages. sending me several messages calling me a leech telling me I cannot afford a slice of pizza. He also threatened to seek full custody of my son and doesn’t even see him. The child support papers claim that he makes $100,000 a month or more according to payroll. I haven’t came forward in all this time because he says he will step up but he doesn’t and continues to add insult to injury by name calling and neglecting to fulfill his duties as a father. I want to be the first to report it because there are rumors going around in the industry and I just want the truth to be known. Sounds like it’s time to cut the check Maine! More On Bossip! UPDATE: Floyd Mayweather Sentenced To 90 Days Jail Time For Catching Fade With His Baby Mama!!

Your house isn’t a boxing ring champ, gotta keep your hands to yourself. According to TMZ reports : Floyd Mayweather Jr. got hammered by a judge, who just sentenced him to serve 90 days in jail for beating up his baby mama in front of their kids. Floyd was sentenced to 6 months in jail, but 3 months of that sentence was suspended. He also gets 3 days credit for time he has already served. TMZ broke the story … the boxer was arrested in September 2010 — after his ex-girlfriend accused him of striking her “multiple times in the head with his fist” and then threatening to kill her. Floyd struck a plea deal with prosecutors in the case — in which he pled guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence … in exchange for getting a pass on the felony battery charge. Floyd also pled no contest to two misdemeanor harassment charges — after allegedly threatening to beat his kids too during the incident. The judge was especially pissed that Mayweather struck his baby mama in front of their kids. The judge also ordered Mayweather to complete 100 hours of community service and a 12-month domestic violence program. He was fined $2,500 … which to Floyd is like a poker hand. The boxer must turn himself in on January 6, to begin serving his sentence. Dear Floyd, As much as you may hate your child’s mother, she is not Victor Ortiz. Enjoy your stay in the whoscow, learn your lesson, and most importantly…protect yourself (and your a$$) at ALL times!!! Sincerely, BOSSIP More On Bossip! Vanessa Vs. Reality Report: Tami Roman Says That Lawsuit Is BS And Explains Why She Doesn’t Owe Her Shady Ex Manager Isht!!

We’re sure that it won’t take too long for it to become pretty obvious to Tami’s former manager that he wants no part of her. In a radio interview today, Tami spoke up about the allegations that she owes this Jerry character money for hooking her up with her gig on Basketball Wives … and she sounds to us like she’s confident that she can back up every last word she’s saying about it. It’s true. He had been my manager for about maybe 8 years. Yes, we had a long relationship and it had always been an amicable up until this moment. Our particular situation was you know I pay people based on what you do and that had always been our understanding and our agreement. You know if you send me out on an audition and I book that job I’m going to pay your commission. If I initiate employment for myself, you’re not going to get commission on that because you weren’t involved in it. So that had always been our understanding and that had always worked for the past 8 years. With “Basketball Wives,” they approached me when they did their first season. They contacted him and you know I just wasn’t really ready to go on a show, talk about Kenny. You know I had moved so past that. In addition to, I really didn’t want to go back to the reality genre. So between the year that they had their first season and the second season which is when I actually came onto the show, my family fell on a hardship I actually introduced that on the show. Jerry placed another call on my behalf to Shed Media, which is the production company for our show and I started having communication and dialogue with the executive producer, telling them my story. They liked my story- I was on Season 2. Now for the payment that I received for Season 2, Jerry Silverhardt was compensated. And that’s what he’s not admitting to. When it came to-we didn’t even know we were going to get a Season 3-so we did the reunion and we got the announcement we were going to do a Season 3. As I wasn’t happy with my contract for Season 2, I didn’t feel that he did the best job for me in that moment considering everything I was going through and you know what the value of my storyline that I brought to Season 2, I terminated him before we started negotiating contract for Season 3. The term ‘n—a b—h’ h” has come over from America and we have only this to describe this particular style of clothes that we can try to interpret. Due to the enormous pressure from social media, I promised to do better regarding the language in future issues of Jackie and I have offered to rectify the situation.
