T.I. And Tiny Arrested For Alleged Drug Possession In Los Angeles

Rapper and his wife were booked for felony alleged possession of a controlled substance Wednesday night. By Gil Kaufman T.I. and Tameka Cottle Photo: Getty Images Rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday night for alleged possession of a controlled substance. According to an arrest report on the incident from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, during the course of a traffic stop involving Tip (born Clifford Harris Jr.), 29, and Cottle, 36, on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood at 10:30 p.m., “deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.” A narcotics investigation followed and both Tiny and T.I. were “found to be in possession of a controlled substance.” At press time, there was no information on which drug the possession charge covered. TMZ reported that the recently married couple were traveling in a Maybach when they were stopped by deputies. Both T.I. and Tiny were booked at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, and bail was set at $10,000 each. Deputy Jeff Gordon confirmed on Thursday morning (September 2) that both had posted bail around 4 a.m. PT and were due back in court on the charges on September 3. A spokesperson for T.I.’s label could not be reached for comment early Thursday morning. Tip, who celebrated the #1 debut of his film “Takers” last weekend, is on federal probation following a seven-month prison term he completed in March on weapons charges. At press time, Gordon said considering T.I. was allowed to post bail on the drug charge, it did not appear that the rapper’s probation from the federal charge would be impacted by Wednesday night’s arrest. GORDON DUFF: CLASSIFIED CIA TRANSCRIPT COUNTERS BIN LADEN TERROR ROLE : Veterans Today

DOUBT THROWN ON PROOF BIN LADEN A TERRORIST LEADER By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor Two weeks ago, CIA Director Leon Panetta told the press the CIA had not been able to positively confirm any specific information on Osama bin Laden since “late 2000.” Interviews with high ranking military and intelligence officials, some at the highest levels, have confirmed that all evidence lends toward Osama bin Laden’s death in December 2001. Yet transcripts of translated audio and video tapes, albeit widely disputed, are continually released by a news agency tied to Israeli intelligence services. The transcripts of the last proven bin Laden interview, translated by the CIA, are compared to similar translations of a 2007 “broadcast” said to be by Osama bin Laden. Both are excerpted for length but not content. Striking differences between the two “bin Ladens” is obvious. In 2007, in a lengthy admonition, no mention of Israel is made whatsoever, nor of Palestine. In fact, the bin Laden of 2007 seems to be totally oblivious of Israel. We will begin with the CIA document, one that directly disputes claims made by the media for years. We thank the Central Intelligence Agency for making this document available. With dozens of films, videos and recordings, all claiming Osama bin Laden has taken credit for 9/11 and other terrorist attacks against America, Britain, Spain and other nations, the possession of the only official translation of the real Osama bin Laden is vital. What you are going to be reading is both astounding and frightening. More at the link: added by: Monkey_Films

Boston ended Lakers’ 9-0 home court streak in the playoffs, series now tied at 1-1

Series is now tied at 1-1, Rajon Rondo did everything on the court while Ray Allen fired basket after basket around the 3 point area. Allen scored game the high with 32 points, displaying his prowess in 3 point shooting. Hitting 8 out of 11 from beyond the three point line. Rajon Rondo finished the game with a triple-double 19 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds to end Lakers’ 9-0 home games winning streak in the post-season. “An entire team effort,” Rondo said. “Ray carried us through the first half. Second half, we got in a little slump but we stuck with it, stayed together and got a victory.” Kobe Bryant had 21 points and his playing minutes were just limited to 34 minutes due to foul trouble. He got his fifth personal foul at the start of fourth quarter. Pau Gasol had 25 points and grabbed eight boards for the Lakers, and Andrew Bynum added 21 points with 7 blocks. Boston’s dynamic guards dictated the tempo of the game, making the Lakers lose their first home loss throughout the post-season. The game tied 11 times throughout the game, and lead changed 22 times down the stretch. Rondo’s layup at the 3:20 mark in the fourth period changed the complexion of the game. That layup gave Celtics a boost that made them pull away. Kevin Garnett then hit a jumper after another possession of sticky defense. Rajon Rondo hit another jumper to give Celtics a 5 point lead, 95-90. Lakers fell short down the stretch. This game is tough to swallow for the Lakers after coming in with all the momentum following a decisive victory in Game 1 Thursday. “Everyone was just pissed off,” said Bynum of the atmosphere in the locker room following the Lakers first home loss this postseason. “The coaching staff told us that this might be the last time we play here. I think that woke everybody up.” The defending champs will now have to make their adjustments as they head on the road. This postseason, the Lakers sport a 4-4 road record. They need to steal one road game to atleast even up the series. Games 3 and 4 will be in Boston. And return home in Game 5. “There’s no doubt it’s a blow to use to lose the homecourt,” Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. “But we anticipated this might happen, and we’re just going to have to go pick it up.” Game 3 will be on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, 9PM ET at TD Garden, Boston, MA More Info.. Malcolm McLaren Remembered By John Lydon, Vivienne Westwood, More

‘I don’t think I would have been the singer that I am today if it hadn’t been for him,’ said Bow Wow Wow lead singer Annabella Lwin. By Gil Kaufman Malcolm McLaren (circa 1984) Photo: Lisa Haun/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images Musical bomb-thrower, cultural rabble-rouser, fashion icon, ultimate hype man. A day after the death of former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren from cancer at the age of 64, tributes poured in for the irrepressible self-promoter who many consider the godfather of punk rock. McLaren died on Thursday in a Swiss hospital after a long battle with a rare form of cancer called mesothelioma, and even though they had a fraught professional relationship, former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon (a.k.a. “Johnny Rotten”) had uncharacteristically kind words for his former boss. “For me Malc was always entertaining, and I hope you remember that,” Lydon said in a statement attributed to his stage name. “Above all else he was an entertainer and I will miss him, and so should you.” Also paying tribute was David Johansen, frontman of the New York Dolls, the gender-bending stateside punk progenitors that McLaren briefly managed before turning his attention to creating England’s Pistols. “Malcolm McLaren was such a marvelous amalgam of exuberation, sensuality, culture, and literacy salted with the essential recognition of his own rascality,” he told Entertainment Weekly . “He was the perfect preservation against stuffiness and a lack of humanity. We are going to miss him.” Annabella Lwin, who was discovered by McLaren at age 14 while working at a dry cleaner, said the flame-haired impresario changed her life by plucking her from obscurity, changing her name (from Myant Myant Aye) and hiring her as the frontwoman of the new-wave act Bow Wow Wow in 1980. On the day he rescued her from minimum-wage drudgery, Lwin said she thought McLaren was “a strange creature from another planet. He had a chat with my mother, and asked her — well, he didn’t ask. He said, ‘We need her for this band.’ And the rest of it was pretty much an everyday thing. “We got to work together on songs, and I was told to sing certain things, and he was the one that really gave me encouragement in that situation, as opposed to the band. He was the one that said, ‘Use your imagination,’ which is something that will never leave me,” she told EW . “Malcolm McLaren recognized something within me I didn’t even know I was capable of. I don’t think I would have been the singer that I am today if it hadn’t been for him, even long after I had an association with him on a professional level. I’m so grateful to have known somebody like him. … “Down the road, I discovered the other stuff he’d done, and I realized that he was like a big schoolboy, and he was having a bit of fun with these building blocks. And if it didn’t go his way, he’d knock ’em all down and start all over again with some other situation. It’s great to know that he did so much in his life. I mean, what an accomplishment! He started the punk rock movement, and there are a lot of groups out there that have him to thank for them being so big today in the industry. “A lot of people will definitely be feeling the loss of this genius. Because he was a genius. He saw such great potential in people. He just went all these different directions. You can’t really say any less than that: The guy was a genius.” McLaren’s former partner fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood described him as a “very charismatic, special and talented person.” The couple’s son, Joseph Corre, the founder of the Agent Provocateur line of lingerie, called his dad the “original punk rocker,” who “revolutionized the world,” according to BBC News . “He’s somebody I’m incredibly proud of. He’s a real beacon of a man for people to look up to,” Corre said.

Poreotix Say Winning ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ Is ‘A Dream Come True’

The dance group credit their victory to ‘being true’ to themselves. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Tim Kash Poreotix and Tim Kash Photo: MTV News On Thursday night, “America’s Best Dance Crew” found its latest champs: Poreotix . And the California natives admit that they still can’t believe they managed to rise up the ranks and beat out the Blueprint Cru as season five’s winning team. When MTV News caught up with the crew, they said they were still reeling from the news. Describing the win as “a dream come true,” they explained they were not only excited by the win but also the fact that the show gave them the chance to “inspire the fans.” So, what made the Poreotix stand out? In their opinion, it was their ability to be themselves week after week that connected most to fans. “I think we did a lot of stuff the other crews wouldn’t have done,” Dumbo Nguyen explained. “We don’t move around the stage a lot, but we definitely entertain a lot of people.” Dumbo summed up their dance mantra this way: “We want to show people that we’re able to stand here and entertain you and don’t have to run around the stage and do crazy stuff. As long as you bring your true self out and people enjoy that, that’s all that matters.” The crew said their biggest challenge was during disco week. And the guys will be back for charity week, when they plan to bring their game again by “being true to ourselves again. Popping choreography robotics,” Dumbo said. And what will the guys spend their winnings on? Whatever’s left over after school tuition and rent, they’ll put into savings. It seems these guys aren’t just dance machines, they’re also practical. Are you happy with Poreotix’s win? Talk about your favorite “ABDC” moments in the comments below! Man Arrested For Attempting To Smuggle ‘Lady Gaga’ Heroin

27-year-old man allegedly arrived in Syracuse with bags of heroin stamped with the pop star’s name. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/ WireImage On Tuesday, members of the Syracuse Police Special Investigations Division received a tip that a large amount of heroin was being delivered on a bus from New York City. When that bus arrived at 5 p.m., police found more than 15 grams of heroin in the possession of a 27-year-old man, whom they took into custody. And here’s where Lady Gaga comes in to the story. According to Syracuse’s The Post-Standard , police discovered 400 glassine bags, each containing a tan powder that tested positive for heroin, hidden in the pants of a bus passenger named Jeffrey J. Williams. Each bag was stamped in red ink with the words “Lady Gaga.” All told, police discovered 15.6 grams of “Gaga” heroin — with an estimated street value of $6,000 — on Williams’ person. He was arrested and charged with two felony counts and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance. At press time, MTV News’ phone calls to the Syracuse Police Department requesting comment had not been returned. While Gaga herself had nothing to do with the incident (or the heroin), she’s now joined a list of entertainers and celebrities who have unwittingly lent their names to street drugs. Earlier this year, Newark police uncovered 500 bricks of “Lil Wayne”-branded heroin — with a street value of some $250 million — hidden in the interior of an SUV. And in 2009, Border Patrol agents in Washington state arrested a man attempting to smuggle 67 pounds of Benzylpiperazine pills, a drug that causes a euphoria similar to that experienced with Ecstasy, into the U.S. Most of the pills were stamped with the likeness of Bart Simpson, but others were marked with a silhouette of President Barack Obama .
