Jadakiss, Styles P Laugh Off LOX And Detox Comparison

‘Nah, we ain’t longer than Detox, ‘ Styles tells MTV News, comparing group’s first album since 2000 to Dr. Dre’s long-awaited project. By Rob Markman Jadakiss and Styles P Photo: MTV News When the LOX dropped their last album, We Are the Streets, the world had just finished breathing a collective sigh of relief, thankful that their computers didn’t crash in the Y2K scare. Not that the Yonkers, New York, rap trio made up of Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch haven’t been busy dropping solo albums and mixtapes over the past 11 years. “Paperwork, paperwork, it ain’t on us. All I’m gonna say is, LOX-wise, you hear how many verses we do, freestyles we do, songs we do, LOX songs we drop here and there,” Styles P said about the group’s long-awaited third album . “Due to common sense, it’s paperwork. When the paperwork pans out, you got LOX. That’s all I’m gonna say. We would’ve been gave y’all LOX.” The LOX got their start on Diddy’s Bad Boy Records in 1997 after they dropped their debut single, “We’ll Always Love Big Poppa.” The song stood as a dedication to the Notorious B.I.G. after he was murdered earlier that year. In 1998, the group dropped their debut album, Money, Power, Respect, but soon after, they became disgruntled with their label and organized a “Let the LOX Go” campaign to be let out of their Bad Boy contract. Diddy eventually obliged , and the threesome dropped their sophomore album on Ruff Ryders in 2000. Aside from the group effort, each member dropped a number of solo albums on various labels, leaving entangled contracts that are now getting sorted out. “It’s a lot of heads involved with the new LOX album. You got Ruff Ryders, you got Bad Boy, you got Interscope. It’s a lot of politics in one set of paperwork, but it’s gettin’ close,” Styles said. If Dr. Dre’s Detox is rap’s longest-delayed LP, then the LOX aren’t far behind. Jada and P are amused at the comparison. “Nah, we ain’t longer than Detox. We close! We right behind it; we ain’t neck and neck, though,” Styles said, laughing at the notion that his group could eclipse Dre’s drought if the producer’s album is dropped this year as planned. Jadakiss begged to differ, starting a little debate with his rhyme partner. “We passed Detox, ” ‘Kiss proclaimed. “Nah, they said Detox was coming in ’99,” Styles argued. Despite common misconceptions based on the album’s title, it was 1999 when Dre dropped his 2001 LP. Work on his third album was said to have started in 2003 , but details are sketchy. Jada suggests a joint Dr. Dre and LOX album release to satisfy the fan’s demand. “We need to do a double album: the Detox and the new LOX album,” he joked. After a few laughs, Jada got serious and said the group was close to a breakthrough in the legal holdups, but he wouldn’t nail down a specific label where the album would be released. “Big shout-out to J Records, Geffen Records, Atlantic, Warner,” he said. “Big shout-out to all of these labels.” What are you expecting from new LOX music? Rihanna Does Barbados of the Day

I know people in Barbados and they all fucking hate Rihanna. She was gutter…you know seriously low class poverty trash from a shanty before she started hooking at tourist hangouts, at least that’s what I was told by those people in Barbados… you know that she was offering foreigners her teen pussy for money, leading to a fairy tale princess career that her gutter whore ass could only dream of…but that has in turn given her this ridiculous ego that she brings back to Barbados a bunch of times a year, where she shows off to her old peers who never bothered with her, but more importantly, to get money and free land and all kinds of other shit by the government, cuz they feel she’s good for tourism….and the whole thing pisses everyone off, but yet she still has the balls to host some Parade shit, you know like the snobby cunt too good for you but to the power of 100, where she now stays in a fancy resort, and orders the staff around worse than the white people….and the whole thing is disgusting…but not as disgusting as her sloppy fucking gut as she half nakedly parties…back home as locals look at her with disappointment and disgust.

Kelly Rowland Bottom Feeding of the Day

I am not posting these pics – I am posting them because I like watching bitches bottom feed…You see Kelly Rowland was a star once…one of the three girls of Destiny’s Child, selling albums, living the life…and then one day….the lead Beyonce said “fuck this shit, and these latch on bitches, I’m gonna go blossom on my own cuz I’m a goddess”….thanks to too much positive affirmation and an ego….doing everything in her power to overshadow the other girls..leading to Kelly Rowland buying fake tits and now buying a clay hand mold at Planet Fucking Hollywood…I’m talking PLANET HOLLYWOOD to immortalize and eternalize her fucking life in music while promoting her next solo album no one will buy….fuckign amazing….on so many levels…. But in her defense, at least she gets the risiduals from her previous career cuz this new one’s going no where…. Now maybe she should show us her vagina…cuz that wet fleshy hole…no matter what it looks like….or how meaty it is…keeps every single girl alive at least semi relevant…True story…

Amy Winehouse ‘Had A Huge Heart,’ Producer Salaam Remi Says

Remi opens up about working with Winehouse on third album, which is not complete. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Kim Kane Amy Winehouse Photo: Roger Kisby/ Getty Images Salaam Remi was already an established producer before he met a then-unknown singer named Amy Winehouse, having already created hits for the likes of Nas, the Fugees and Ini Kamoze (to name just a few). But from the minute he was introduced to Winehouse in 2002, his life — and career — were forever changed. Because not only did he produce the lion’s share of her recorded work (her 2003 debut Frank and the follow up, 2006’s iconic Back to Black ) but he became a close friend with the mercurial Winehouse too, a confidant who knew her better than most. So when Winehouse died on Saturday in her London home, it was somewhat fitting that Remi was nearby: in town to attend the wedding of the singer’s former manager. In fact, he had planned on stopping by Winehouse’s apartment that day to catch up and discuss the ongoing sessions for her Back to Black follow-up , which the two had been working on. MTV celebrates Amy Winehouse’s music with a special show tonight. Days after Winehouse’s death Remi spoke via telephone with New York’s Power 105.1 DJ Kim Kane about the loss of his dear friend and the status of her new album. Kane was kind enough to share their conversation with MTV News. “We were working on it; it’s not a complete album,” Remi said, debunking reports that her third LP was finished and slated for release. “We had a lot of things going, there are recordings, but first things first, I think. We’re trying to focus on what’s at hand and what her family wants to do. So those reports [that there is finished material] are false.” Read more about Amy Winehouse’s influence on music beyond “Rehab.” Remi also told Kane that despite near-constant speculation about Winehouse’s health, he believed that she was well enough to complete her new album and was actually using the ongoing recording sessions as a sort of therapy, channeling her emotions and frustrations into her songs. “To put it all in a nutshell, Amy loved to sing, to write … that ability never left her,” he said. “She was very good at channeling her emotions into lyrics, and then being able to sing them. She was in a place to go forward and make it happen. … The way that Amy and I always created was, she would write and we would toss ideas around.” And though details surrounding Winehouse’s death remain murky, Remi said that he’s trying very hard to block out the near-constant media coverage of her passing and focus instead on the private moments the two shared in the studio. Those moments revealed the artist few ever knew: opinionated, funny and, above all else, caring. “Amy had strong opinions on everything. …. She was very opinionated about what she liked. At the end, she was a real person,” he said. “She had a huge heart. We’d be working for hours and she would have everybody in the room snickering. She always had a joke. You could hear a lot of that in her lyrics, she could be sarcastic and she was extremely witty … but more than anything else she was a real person, an individual artist.” Celebrate Amy Winehouse

Same Sex Matrimony-dom: Gay Couples Get Married In New York At Midnight

Damn, you know they couldn’t wait if they were getting it in at midnight! New York state ushered in gay marriage at the stroke of midnight Sunday, with a Buffalo couple among the first to wed. Kitty Lambert and Cheryle Rudd said “I do” moments after midnight on Goat Island, with rainbow-colored lights on Niagara Falls in the background. The couple have been together for more than 12 years. The New York Times reported that after a bell rang in the new day, Niagara Falls Mayor Paul A. Dyster said, “By the power vested in me by the laws of the state of New York, I now pronounce you legally married.” Lambert, 54, and Rudd, 53, kissed in front of more than 100 friends and family members, the Times said. “We’re so proud of everybody who crawled up this hill with us,” Lambert said Saturday evening before the wedding, BuffaloNews.com reported. In Albany, gay weddings began occurring at city hall, with the first couple mobbed by media, according to a Twitter feed from timesunion.com. According to a tweet by Danny Hakim, Albany bureau chief for The New York Times, Albany Mayor Gerald Jennings claimed he beat the Niagara Falls wedding with a private ceremony in his office for two longtime friends. “Done by 12:01,” according to the tweet. Whoever was first, thousands more gay and lesbian New Yorkers were getting ready to say “I do” this weekend, as the Empire State became the sixth in the U.S. to embrace same-sex marriage. A state law signed June 24 by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo went into effect at 12:01 on Sunday. In New York city alone, 823 couples planned to wed. People were waiting outside city halls across New York state for the chance. Peep some more pics of happily married and gay New York couples: Source
