In Sway’s heartfelt interview with Dave Lighty, he opened up about the tragic death of his brother, Chris Lighty, and his family’s decision to move forward with an investigation of his passing. “Chris was a go-getter. The ultimate non-stopping machine. That’s just not something I see him putting upon the rest of us and everyone he knows and those who look up to him.” The Lighty family feels that there are still unanswered questions, and will make investigation results public once they’re ready. Let’s just say she needn’t keep a line open. “[Playboy] would NEVER take her. I don’t think anybody really wants to see that,” a publication source tells TMZ, adding that Stodden “doesn’t meet the standards of a Playboy model” because she looks too “enhanced.” Strange. Alicia Etheredge, the new wife of Bobby Brown who married the singer in June , is recovering today from a seizure. The incident reportedly took place last night in a Florida hotel room while Brown was taking care of a sound check for an upcoming New Edition concert. Etheredge serves as her husband’s manager. “The report that my wife was rushed to the hospital is true,” Brown subsequently Tweeted. “She is recovering and is in good spirits and doing well. Please keep my family in your prayers.” Brown has been undergoing his own issues as of late. He checked into a rehab facility for alcohol abuse in mid-August and is trying to get his life back on track.
Two people were killed and at least eight others injured in a shooting spree outside the Empire State Building this morning. A 53-year old named Jeffrey Johnson , who was shot to death by police on the scene, is suspected of starting the incident in due to a dispute with a former coworker. In response to the tragedy, a myriad of celebrities have expressed shock and remorse over Twitter. Tameka Foster spoke out on her son’s death and the current custody court hearings for the first time today. To begin, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the countless number of people who opened their hearts, extended their prayers, well-wishes and remained hopeful for my son Kile during the last weeks of his life. I truly believe that he has always been an Angel from birth and the World was just too small to contain a spirit so vast. I’m thankful and blessed to merely be the vessel that carried him and humbled that God gave him to us to love. I also feel humbled by everyone’s show of concern, and knowing that Kile Glover touched the lives of so many has given me strength during my worst & darkest hour … Again I THANK YOU ALL! Sadly, I remain in the unfortunate position of having to respond to and attend court proceedings that were not initiated or begun by me. I did not file this custody case (January 2011) and was content with the ‘joint custody’ arrangement that we share. Most importantly, nor do I wish to appear in court while I am mourning the loss of my son. But I do not want to delay thus prolong these proceedings either; I’d rather continue this arduous process hoping it will help move me through this most difficult period in my life. People seem to be privy to only my filed responses as ‘Defendant’ to the initiation of this case (Jan 4, 2011), when I have only been defending myself and protecting the best interests of my children through my counsel. I cannot control how the media reports are written/slanted/spun or even how court documents may be manipulated in their attribution of certain statements as if they are direct “quotes” from me- yet I can control what I actually say myself. This may sound really cliché but you must NOT believe everything you read or hear and never judge… especially without solid facts and always, but always consider the source. Discernment is key. My boys are my entire world and I will fight tooth and nail to keep all of my sons together as a family, I pray for a swift, peaceful resolution so that we all can move forward. Again, thank you for your concern, positive energy and hope for my family during this surreal time. There have been times when just the right words, at the right time, have provided me shelter through this storm and I appreciate you all. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. In a statement released just a few hours ago, Beyonce and Jay-Z officially confirmed that she gave birth to baby girl , Blue Ivy Carter, on Saturday. The couple writes, jointly: “Hello Hello Baby Blue! We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter , born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.” Jay and Bey say Saturday was the best day ever for them . “Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven. She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.” “We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.” Jay-Z released “Glory” – a new song he wrote as a tribute to baby Blue, and which even features her at the end – online earlier today. TMZ is reporting that rapper Rick Ross was on a flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Memphis today when he apparently had a seizure and lost consciousness. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing. Police told TMZ that Ross has been transported to a nearby hospital, and a family member told TMZ that Rick is currently under close supervision and is doing fine. Rick Ross tweeted this earlier: Wale, Meek Mill, ATL’s own Pill and Hot 107.’s DJ Scream, who recently signed to Ross’ Maybach Music Group, also jumped on twitter to say, thankfully, that Rick is okay! And it looks like the Boss himself is saying he’s okay too!
