The Palin replacement, Michele Bachmann, is just ratchet. Her and those Republicans will incite hate and promote racial tension to win the 2012 election. But, uh, good luck with that. “Everything I ever needed to know I learned,” says Minnesota Congresswoman and Republican Presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann. With her first words, she lets you know she grew up here. Michele Bachmann is out to impress Iowans, but really has her eye on Tea Partiers. “One thing I know growing up in Iowa we as a family never spent more money than what we took in. I call that Econ 101.” In the blazing hot sun, more than 200 people gathered to hear Bachmann preach about out of control government spending and our country’s growing debt ceiling. They’re words Iowans in the crowd echoed. Michelle Bachmann wants the job to lead it there. She’s eager to align herself with the Tea Party and says Democrats, as well as President Obama should fear for their job. “They want you to think that the Tea Party made up of toothless hillbillies coming down out of hills wearing red, white and blue but the fact is they should be afraid of Tea Party,” says Bachmann. Over the past three weeks, the Tea Party Bus Tour signed up more than 1,000 Iowans for their grassroots campaign. “A Tea Party candidate advocating for Tea Party principals will win Iowa and they will move on,” says Ryan Rhodes of the Iowa Tea Party Revolution. Rhodes says Bachmann’s drawn bigger crowds than any other candidate; a sign of her strength. “I think it will be very hard to beat Bachmann in Iowa.” Hmm, “toothless hillbillies” … who said that? Oh, how we would love for her to be nominated and make it easy for the Dems. Click here to see video Source
It’s stunning but true: not everyone in the country is inflicted with Justin Bieber Fever. Millions of cases in point: those who typically read Vanity Fair . The February issue of this magazine, which featured the 17-year old icon on the cover, has sold a mere 246,000 copies since its release. That makes it the second-worst selling edition of the publication EVER, moving more issues than only a Will Smith-anchored issue from 1999. In related news, an April 2010 People magazine that also featured the Biebs reportedly sold 25 percent less than that publication’s average. So, what’s the deal, Beliebers? Are you falling out of love with Mr. Selena Gomez ? Or do you simply get your Bieber intel from blogs such as THG? (Editor’s note: Thank you!)
The Fox News Politics Twitter account reported this morning that President Obama had been shot twice in Iowa and killed. Not the case. Obama is fine. The account was hacked shortly after midnight and the messages about the president were left around 3:00 a.m. The Tweets have since been deleted. In total there were six Tweets that reported the death of the president, going so far as to wish Vice President Joe Biden luck in his assumed new role. Unlike Rep. Anthony Weiner , who used the hacking defense after sending photos of his junk to women everywhere, it appears to be true in this case. The account was hacked by “The Script Kiddies” (a slang term for beginner hackers), who vaguely aligned themselves with another hacking ring, Anonymous and changed the picture for the Fox account to their logo. The “Script Kiddies” account has also been taken down. According to Gawker, one of the members of “The Script Kiddies” says they are quite sophisticated despite the name, and chose to target Fox, “because we figured their security would be just as much of a joke as their reporting.” While hacking someone’s Twitter – especially to report the president is dead – is reprehensible, we have to give them credit for that little dig.

Lindsay Lohan had her ankle monitor removed and was released from house arrest around 10:20 a.m. Pacific Time yesterday. Last night, she partied with friends at the Lexington Social House in Los Angeles. We’re as shocked as you are: she didn’t go there for a late breakfast?!? Lohan reportedly spent the evening with actors Emile Hirsch and Lyndsy Fonseca, barely making it out of the club without falling as she tried (and failed) to hide from a swarm of paparazzi. It’s nice to see this star getting back to what she does best, isn’t it? [Photos: WENN.com] UPDATE: Lohan has replied to this coverage and written on her WhoSay page: “Of course me going to my best friends going away dinner is a headline- especially on my first day out of my house in 35 days. That does not give anyone the right to have a field day and manifest stories. IT WAS A GOING AWAY DINNER, THAT WAS IT “Nothing exciting happened aside from the very yummy hummus and pita. If anyone caused me to nearly fall it was the pyschotic [sic] paparazzi…. off to the gym now- have a lovely day xo.”
Mark Halperin must be watching too much Tracy Morgan stand-up . During a live appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, the political analyst was asked about President Obama’s behavior yesterday during a meeting with Republicans, inquired about whether or not the show was on a seven-second delay and then said: The President “acted like a dick.” Watch the host’s stunned reaction to the insult now: Mark Halperin on Morning Joe Halperin, who co-authored the book ” Game Change ,” has been suspended indefinitely by the network and said in a statement: “I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to the president, to my MSNBC colleagues, and to the viewers. My remark was unacceptable, and I deeply regret it.” Should he have been punished?
