Justin Bieber continues to give his fans a taste of his forthcoming video for “Boyfriend,” with new teaser clips (below) and interviews on the topic. “I think people are going to be really happy [with the video] and … I think it’s going to make people like the song more,” Bieber told MTV News. “The song, and the album ( Believe ), in general, is just really new and fresh and I think that people are going to be really happy to hear it.” The song represents a more mature sound for the 18-year-old, but he says ” Boyfriend ” is just one component of the album’s overall sound. Justin Bieber “Boyfriend” Video Teaser (New) “I think it’s part of it,” he said. “My whole album is so different and every song’s different, I think that what’s special about it; nothing sounds the same.” Bieber also teased that he would be hitting the studio with his mentor Usher, who in turn tweeted a bit more about working with his understudy. “Ohh … and trust we got a duet coming for ‘LOOKING 4 MYSELF’ and ‘BELIEVE,'” he said of working with the teen star on both their forthcoming albums. “He has come a long way. Proud to see his evolution as an artist!” We’re guessing 19,863,129 Beliebers (as of this post) concur.
“Mickey Mouse Club” connections only get you so far apparently. Last night on The Voice , Christina Aguilera offered some less-than-glowing words for the falsetto-singing Tony Lucca, one of Adam Levine’s proteges. After a rendition of “In Your Eyes,” Christina called him “one-dimensional,” said she thinks there are better voices on the show, and hopes The Voice doesn’t become about “celebrity sway” that keeps fan favorites like Tony in the competition. Adam’s response: “Wow. That was honest.” The Voice: Christina Aguilera Shreds Tony Lucca Popular with fans and celebrities alike, Lucca got the support of Justin Timberlake, a MMC alum along with Aguilera and Britney Spears , on Twitter Monday. Will he survive? He’ll have to be one of the top three vote-getters among Adam Levine’s six team members – or get Levine to save him with the fourth spot. Think it’ll happen? Tune in tonight to find out.
Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum suspended his White House bid on Tuesday, all but ceding the Republican presidential nomination to rival Mitt Romney. “We made a decision over the weekend that while this presidential race for us is over for me, and we will suspend our campaign effective today,” he said. Santorum did not endorse Romney in making his announcement, though he did vow to fight to defeat President Obama and help Republicans win in the fall. In a statement, Mitt Romney called Santorum “an able and worthy competitor” and congratulated his often-bitter rival for the formidable campaign he ran. “He has proven to be an important voice in our party and the nation,” said Romney. Rick Santorum Drops Out of GOP Race “We both recognize that what is most important is putting the failures of the last three years behind us and setting America back on the path to prosperity.” Santorum’s campaign insisted earlier in the day that he was not leaving the GOP race despite a decision to cancel his Tuesday morning campaign events. His three-year-old daughter Bella , who suffers from a rare genetic condition called Trisomy 18, had been hospitalized again after falling ill over the weekend. Santorum said that Bella recovered after a “difficult weekend,” but that the situation “did cause us to think in the role that we have as parents in her life.” That, along with his dimming chances of overtaking Romney in the GOP delegate race, likely caused the unapologetic social conservative to pack it in. Nevertheless, he leaves having won more than 10 states in the Republican nominating contest, pushing Romney longer than anyone possibly predicted. Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich remain in the GOP race, but well behind Romney, who appears poised to finally finish this political war of attrition. In a hypothetical matchup of the President and his likely GOP opponent, for whom would you vote if the election were today?
President Obama might inspire divisive feelings politically, but if there was ever any doubt that the President is great with kids, this video should put it to rest. In it, Obama reads the children’s classic “Where the Wild Things Are” to what sounds like a loud, excited crowd of children at the White House’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwbHrewGg8s Those who want to read… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Blaze Discovery Date : 09/04/2012 21:18 Number of articles : 2
This week’s Guy Pearce -starring, Luc Besson -produced Lockout might look like a run of the mill action pic — that vague title doesn’t help things — but, as the film’s opening scenes show, it’s got a blustery ’80s-style hero at its core and a punny sense of humor to move things along. Get a taste for the brawny bravado and hijinks to come in the film’s first five minutes, viewable after the jump. The thing about the first five minutes of Lockout is that you’re either with it or not, and this is indeed your cup of tea, Lockout might be the most surprisingly fun action movie of 2012 you never saw coming. Pearce stars as Snow, a government agent wrongfully convicted after a mission gone wrong who is tapped to lead a one-man job into a high-security space prison to save the President’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from the psycho inmates who’ve taken over the place. It’s Pearce’s show, and though he told Movieline recently that he hadn’t had Snake Plisskin in mind during the shoot, there are more than a few strands of Escape from New York and its antihero in Lockout ‘s DNA. (Stay tuned for Movieline’s full chat with Pearce this week.) Much of this was featured in the first European trailer : The opening scene highlights both Pearce’s tough-guy appeal and his character’s penchant for baiting just about everyone with surly jokes, but the sequence is also notable for the tongue-in-cheek flair of co-directors Irish writer-directors James Mather and Stephen St. Leger. It’s a neat trick and a ballsy one to kick off a movie with, and that’s even before the flashback, bathroom fight scene, bed sheet gun flip, space helicopter assault, rooftop fall, and night market shootout. All in the first five minutes . Lockout is based on an original idea by co-writer Besson (of course) and hits theaters this Friday. [via MovieWeb ]
“Like It Is” Host, Award-Winning Journalist Gil Noble Passes Away This is another huge loss of yet another legend this week. Gil Noble, the longtime host of WABC-TV’s groundbreaking public affairs program “Like It Is,” on which he interviewed such notables as Nelson Mandela, Muhammad Ali and Jesse Jackson, died Thursday at age 80. The television station announced the death of the Emmy Award-winning journalist, who had a debilitating stroke last summer, on its website. “Gil Noble’s life and work had a profound effect on our society and culture,” WABC-TV President and General Manager Dave Davis said. “His contributions are a part of history and will be remembered for years to come.” Noble, who was black, joined WABC-TV as a reporter in 1967 and anchored the station’s weekend newscasts the following year. Also in 1968, he became host of “Like It Is,” which focused on issues concerning African-Americans. He was equally as comfortable interviewing heads of state such as Mandela or Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe as he was interviewing entertainers such as Harry Belafonte and Bill Cosby or sports icons such as Ali or Arthur Ashe. Noble also created documentaries on luminaries such as W.E.B. Du Bois, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr. and Charlie Parker. U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, a friend, said Noble’s legacy “will continue as a trailblazer for African-Americans in journalism.” “For over forty years he was perhaps the nation’s most important black journalist, bringing the struggle for civil rights and black equality into the homes of millions of Americans,” Rangel said. Noble was the recipient of seven Emmy awards and received a lifetime achievement award from the National Association of Black Journalists. He also received five honorary doctorates and was cited with more than 650 awards from various community groups. He had a passion for jazz and was a member of the board of directors of The Jazz Foundation of America. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and five children. Funeral services haven’t yet been announced. Condolences to the Noble family. We are mourning his death along with so many others, as we continue to celebrate his legacy! R.I.P. This is what happens when you put a gutter middle class bitch in the Royal world. She just can’t hack it, and she will slip up….because that’s just what trash does when it is all trying to fit in in places it doesn’t belong…this is like seeing Coco have dinner with the President, I mean if the President wasn’t black, because since he is, Coco having dinner with the President would involve serious Raggton dancing….floor slapping…and ass shaking….you get what I’m saying and that is that you’d never have seen Princess Diana flashing her panties…maybe cuz she was too busy banging bilionaire Arabs to wear underwear…but she was a little more refined than this party slut… What it comes down to is I’m glad this happened. Looking up her skirt makes me happy or what I think is Happiness. I can never be too sure when it comes to emotions…I can be sure that I would rather this be spread asshole shots….. Tyler Perry shared his recent encounter with the Atlanta Police Department on his Facebook fan page yesterday. Perry says he was stopped by police officers soon after leaving his Atlanta studios. The officers did not know who he was and he felt that he was in a situation that could have gone very badly until another officer arrived. This is an excerpt of what he shared: A few days before President Obama was supposed to speak at my studio, I was leaving the studio, headed to the airport. Most times when I leave the studio I have an unmarked escort. Other times I constantly check in my rearview mirror to be sure that I’m not being followed. It’s a safety precaution that my security team taught me. As I got to an intersection, I made a left turn from the right lane and was pulled over by two police officers. I pulled the car over and put it in park. Then, I let the window down and sat in the car waiting for the officer. The officer came up to the driver’s door and said that I made an illegal turn. I said, “I signaled to get into the turning lane, then made the turn because I have to be sure I’m not being followed.” He said, “why do you think someone would be following you?” More than 92,000 fans liked his thoughts, another 8,741 shared them and more than 15,000 comments have been made on this story as of 10:15 P.M. The President of the United States’ sneaker game is quite official . If all went to plan, Maine Representative Michael Michaud presented Barack Obama with a custom pair of New Balance 990 running sneakers at a Portland fundraiser. The kicks are a gift that Michaud hopes will remind Obama to support legislation that will get the Department of Defense to outfit US troops with American-made footwear. The move would mean more jobs for Maine, like in Norridgewock, ME where these sneakers were made… Continue
President Barack Obama renewed his call Saturday for passage of the so-called Buffett rule, calling it “just common sense,” not “class warfare.” The Buffett rule, named after billionaire investor Warren Buffett, entered the lexicon last year after Buffett penned an op-ed in the New York Times encouraging Congress to raise taxes on the wealthy. Under the proposed plan, scheduled for a Senate vote April… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Blaze Discovery Date : 31/03/2012 10:30 Number of articles : 2
