That’s one thugged out dessert lover. Tennessee Man Punches McDonald’s Employee Over Hot Fudge Sundae A Tennessee man who lost his cool after a McDonald’s employee handed him a sundae with the hot fudge on the bottom was convicted of assault and could spend up to a year behind bars. The incident in question occurred in February 2010, when Knoxville resident James Davis Wilson ordered a sundae, expecting the hot fudge to be poured on top. “The food appeared to be right, but the dessert, it had chocolate on the bottom,” Wilson told a jury of his peers at the Knox County Criminal Court earlier this week. “The hot fudge should be on top. It freezes up when you get fudge on the bottom of it. I asked them to redo it.” The store’s assistant manager, Brad Skelton, refused, saying Wilson was looking to pay the price of a plain sundae, which costs ten cents less. An altercation ensued, which ultimately resulted in Wilson punching Skelton in the face. Wilson claimed Skelton used a racial slur and tried to rush him as he headed for the exit. The jury didn’t buy Wilson’s self-defense argument and found him guilty of misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct. He was fined $1,050 and now faces the possibility of spending 364 days in jail. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for September 27th. The judge should give him a year just so he has to go in an tell people this stupid fawking story when they ask him: “What you in for?” Image via Flickr Source

In this week’s Hobnobbing, we wonder if the new format is really worth the five extra bucks. By Amy Wilkinson Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: We interrupt your regularly scheduled Finnick speculation to bring you this special announcement: “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” will light up IMAX theaters come November 2013! (OK, the news broke Wednesday, but I don’t write my column until Thursday.) Anyway, this is big (as in 70 feet tall) news … if you like that sort of thing. While “The Hunger Games” was re-mastered for IMAX screens, director Francis Lawrence intends to shoot entire “Catching Fire” sequences in the larger-than-life format. As my colleague Kevin P. Sullivan noted , this will be only the sixth major studio film to be partially shot in IMAX — news to which my reaction was roughly, “Okie doke…” See, I’ve never really understood the appeal of IMAX. Isn’t it just for people with poor eyesight who need to see things really large? And why should I pay roughly five extra bucks for the privilege? I have good vision! To wit, I’ve never purposely sought out an IMAX screening. One time on vacation in Seattle my friend insisted we see “The Lion King” (nearly a decade after its initial release) in IMAX, and since I didn’t want to be a chump, I went along. I’ve probably been to one IMAX movie since (it wasn’t “Avatar,” by the way, my hometown theater is lame), but I can’t help but wonder if I’m missing something. According to conventional wisdom and my previously mentioned colleague Kevin (who graciously humored my IMAX questions and concerns), the format is considered the height of immersive movie-going technology. (So much more worth the price than 3-D, he says.) Everything’s huge! Everything’s so detailed! Everything else in the theater just disappears! It’s like that guy in the front row wearing the bowler hat festooned with Christmas lights doesn’t exist! Fine, fine. I get it. And I’m willing to give it another try because Katniss and Peeta deserve as much. (It will also give me another ready-made column idea come next Thanksgiving!) And with speculation swirling that the IMAX-friendly filming will likely focus on the nifty new Quarter Quell arena, I’m simultaneously thrilled and sick to my stomach over the idea of being completely immersed in the bloody battle. Nonetheless, let the IMAX Games begin! “Catching Fire” hits theaters November 22, 2013. Are you excited to see “Catching Fire” in IMAX? Or is it much ado about nothing? In its relentless coverage of rising gas prices, Fox News made some outrageous predictions of $5, $6, $7 and even $8 a gallon gasoline by summer. But these predictions have proven to be nothing more than wishful thinking by a network that hoped to use high prices at the pump as a campaign issue against President Obama. Although experts agree that U.S. policies have little impact on the global oil… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Media Matters for America Discovery Date : 06/06/2012 16:34 Number of articles : 2

It sounds like something out of a movie, but Chinese star Ziyi Zhang is now the real-life subject of a prostitution scandal in Hong Kong. Ziyi is under official investigation following charges that she accepted cash from high-ranking officials to hide the dragon in her crouching tiger, with prominent Chinese businessman Xu Ming allegedly acting as her pimp. A night with Ziyi don’t come cheap, either- according to the report, one client, Chinese Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai , allegedly paid 10 million Chinese yuan (over $1.5 million US) for just one encounter with the mega-star, a privilege for which he ponied up (pun intended) at least 10 times between 2004 and 2007, according to the same source. In fact, Ziyi is accused of raking in around 700 million yuan ($109,895,362.08 at today’s price in US dollars) over the past ten years . That’s over a hundred million dollars earned the very old-fashioned way. And you thought doing commercials in Asia was lucrative! Not surprisingly, Ziyi and her team have slammed the story as “a complete lie” and are suing the tabloid, the Apple Daily , that leaked the allegations. Ziyi Zhang might be out of your price range, but you can see her nude right here at MrSkin.com
