Mommy to be preciousness… Tatyana Ali Doesn’t Know The Sex Of Her Baby Remember when we told you that Tatyana Ali not only recently tied the knot but she’s expecting her first child. The 37-year-old “Fresh Prince” star recently penned a blog for PEOPLE magazine about her impending birth and gender neutral nursery design. “I decided on an animal theme for the nursery, keeping the design gender-neutral because we have chosen to not know the sex. I selected the Larkin Setfrom Pottery Barn Kids in a soft gray. It was so much fun to not simply pick pink for a girl and blue for a boy. We had to get creative. […] I initially wanted to go further with the animal theme, but almost every path led me to “safari” — and from there, slipping down into a colonial dreamscape seemed inevitable, so I kept the vision more metaphorical.” She also recently told PEOPLE the reason why she decided to not know whether she’s having a boy or a girl. “We have chosen to keep the sex of our child a surprise,” wrote Tatyana. “The only person who knows is our doctor. Friends and family have so much to say about our choice, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. It is so much fun to have people guessing and betting when they are around us. We’ve heard that a high belly means a boy and a wide belly means a girl, and just after that has been announced to the group someone else will chime in and give information that completely dispels that logic. “No,” they’ll say, their “grandmother always said that it was the other way around.” […] I revel in the uncertainty because I know that it means limitlessness.
