A new Royal Baby has entered the world. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden gave birth to a baby boy at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the palace has now confirmed. Prince Daniel, the boy’s very proud father, simply could not hold back his emotions in confirming the arrival of the couple’s baby prince, either, who was born at 8 pounds and who measured 22 inches. With as tears pouring down his face, Daniel told reporters tonight that he and Victoria had kept the baby’s gender a secret and that he could not be happier to welcome a little boy. Daniel also revealed that he cut the umbilical cord and assisted during the birth. “They are doing great and have been really well-cared for,” Daniel told the press. “I have not had time to feel just yet how it feels to be a father of two. “But it feels good so far!” The name of newborn prince will be revealed on Thursday. He is now third in line to the throne, behind older sister, Princess Estelle, who turned four years old in February. Prince Shares Epic Passport Photo It’s a rare occasion that any of us take an id photo that we’re actually proud of. But not Prince . In fact, the R&B legend’s ID photo game is so flawless — in all it’s perfectly eye-lined and lip-glossed glory — that he decided to flaunt his flyness to his millions of Twitter followers late last week. It follows all the same guidelines that passport photos outline…but simultaneously tells the agent checking it to bow down. Via Time : While most people have to learn to live with passport photos that make them look like deer caught in the headlights, Prince is not most people. The Purple One recently posted a picture on Twitter that he claimed is the current snapshot for his international travel permit, and it’s pretty flawless to say the least. While Prince presumably had to get his passport updated in order to travel for his upcoming “Piano & A Microphone” tour in Australia and New Zealand, there’s no reason he had to make the rest of us look so bad. In fact, the 57-year-old singer isn’t even adhering to the State Department’s criteria for a neutral facial expression, as he is clearly giving his best Blue Steel. Not a day goes by where I don’t hear, “is Kate pregnant again?” The source of said news can usually be found in the supermarket checkout aisle with a splashy headline, and this time is no different. Before we dig into the “goss” about whether or not there actually is a royal fetus, it’s important to note that unless Kensington Palace makes an announcement (as they have in the past, and early on due to Catherine’s morning sickness). The tabloids can print whatever they want, but if and when it actually happens, it will come directly from the horse’s mouth (or the horse’s press office’s mouth). According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry , Catherine’s up the duff again and Prince William is “overwhelmed and not ready for a third baby yet.” The royal couple are due to visit India and Bhutan this spring, and will be heavily involved in the celebrations of Her Majesty’s 90th birthday. Royal expert Victoria Arbiter told me a few years back that royals plan their calendar (heir-making included) meticulously, so a pregnancy could possibly keep Catherine from traveling abroad “Unconfirmed sources divulge that Prince William would have preferred to wait a few more years before adding to the Cambridge family,” CDL goes on. “Whoever the source is for this latest third Royal baby speculation revealed that the Duke of Cambridge wasn’t prepared for the Duchess of Cambridge to be expecting again so soon after Princess Charlotte’s birth.” tl:dr – Catherine’s probably not pregnant. Once upon a time, royals married royals with the intention of keeping power in the family and/or creating alliances. What they didn’t realize then was that it was incestuous and, well, a little creepy. Most of today’s royal families are descended from Queen Victoria, whose 9 children married relatives in other European kingdoms to keep the lineage strong. Queen Elizabeth II is married to her third cousin, the Duke of Edinburgh, though their union was born out of love. This brings us to modern-day royals, who prefer to water down their DNA with those who don’t share a link to Victoria. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are a prime example, as are Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece and Denmark. The latter couple have five children, the eldest of which is a gorgeous 19-year-old blond studying at NYU. Her name is Princess Marie-Olympia, but she goes simply by Olympia. Australian tabloid New Idea recently linked Olympia to Prince Harry, declaring that he has found love, and everyone approves. “Harry has fallen head over-heels with Maria-Olympia,” someone pretending to be a “royal insider” claims . “He’s absolutely smitten. They’ve been on a string of dates and are planning to go skiing in Switzerland before Easter.” Said insider gives credit to Harry’s younger cousin, Princess Beatrice for introducing him to Olympia, who was raised in London. Beatrice also set up Harry with his ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas. The magazine reports that “Wills and Kate love Maria-Olympia and think she is Harry’s best girlfriend yet. “They can’t believe how happy and settled Harry is thanks to Maria-Olympia being in his life – before she came along, he always seemed quite restless, but now he’s much more content.” So, a little background on how Harry and Olympia are related, albeit very distantly. Harry’s grandmother and Olympia’s grandfather are both great-great-great-great-great grandchildren of King George II. Olympia is Queen Victoria’s great-great-great-great granddaughter through the Greek royal line. Harry, 31, is Queen Victoria’s great-great-great-great grandson Prince Philip, was born a prince of Greece and Denmark before becoming a naturalized British citizen in 1947. Constantine II is one of Prince William’s godfathers, and the Queen attended Marie-Chantal and Pavlos’ 1995 wedding at Hampton Court Palace in London. After Olympia’s younger brother, Constantine-Alexios was born in 1998, the crown princely couple asked William to be a godfather, according to The Duchess Diary . Whether it’s because they’re a little too related for comfort, or due to an 11-year age gap, royal sources have firmly denied any relationship between Harry and Olympia. Kate Middleton, Prince William and their children pretty much make the perfect family … but was their perfect Christmas portrait doctored? Yes, this is a serious debate happening on social media. Many Royal Family fans feel that Princess Charlotte, or at least her head, was somehow altered in the official photo released last week. Charlotte’s “recycled” ensemble in William and Kate’s Christmas portrait was quickly noted, but whatever, all babies re-wear clothes. However, people started “observing” that Charlotte’s head is clearly defined in the picture, yet the area around her head is a bit fuzzy. Supposedly. The rumors began to swirl, in any event, and Elliot Wagland, Photo Editor of Huffington Post UK and AOL, weighed in. “Something is wrong with this (photoshopped) picture of the royal family,” he wrote on Twitter, taking the “scandal” to a new level. Then BuzzFeed did a whole story on this in BuzzFeed fashion. “We’re not the only ones to notice something is afoot,” the site declared. “Why is her head so clear and the area around it so blurry?” The Christmas photo has been dissected, enlarged and analyzed countless times, and frankly, the “evidence” is flimsy at best. For one, the supposed blurriness around the cutie’s neck is only visible whilst zooming in so far that the whole image is blurry . Secondly, there are other imperfections, if you will, such as Charlotte adorably losing a shoe and William not looking at the camera. Any family of four – particularly ones who own humans under the age of three – know it’s next to impossible to get everyone to look. If they cared, they would choose a different picture, no? Finally, even if there were airbrushing, filtering or Photoshop involved … this distinguishes the royals from exactly no one in this era. You don’t even need Photoshop proper these days, as technology on every mobile device lets you enhance and edit photos in 20 seconds. Seriously, the drama over Kate Middleton’s bangs and her oft-debated commoner holiday plans have more legs as royal non-scandals go. A Palace spokesperson told BuzzFeed that the royal family had no comment … but reportedly laughed out loud when asked about it. LOL, indeed.
Today, Kensington Palace released two new photos of Princess Charlotte , who is now 6 1/2 months old. The photos were taken by Catherine in mid-November, according to the palace’s social media account, at the family home in Norfolk, England. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to be able to share two new photographs of Princess Charlotte,” the palace said in a statement. “The Duke and Duchess continue to receive warm messages about Princess Charlotte from all around the world and they hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do.” William and Catherine did the same thing with Prince George last year, as a thank you to the British media for allowing their children to grow up out of the public eye. Those photos were taken at Kensington Palace by photographer Jason Bell, who also shot the young prince’s christening. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very grateful for the support they have received when it comes to their children and wanted to share these very charming pictures taken by the Duchess,” a royal aide told the Daily Mail . “It is something they intend to continue to do.” Catherine is an amateur photographer, having taken photos of George and Charlotte about a month after the princess’s birth. The 46-year-old dancer/actress/singer held down all her jobs in a variety of getups for this year’s annual celebration. She took to her Instagram before AND after the show. Oh Em Gee, are these two the cutest. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to Wales today for a series of engagement to help promote mental wellness. It's a cause the couple has championed all over the UK, encouraging others to erase the stigma of mental illness. During a visit to Towers Residential Outdoor Education Center, William and Catherine got kitted up for a bit of abseiling. William was first to go down the nearly 40-foot wall, while Catherine was in charge of giving him slack. Aware that the future monarch's well-being was in the hands of his wife, a guide joked to Catherine, “is the insurance good?” Everyone had a laugh, and Catherine asked her prince, “William, how much do you love me?” as she continued to guide him safely to the ground. “I'm quite enjoying this actually, for once I'm in control,” Catherine quipped, according to a Press Association report. Good show! The Cambridges are slightly competitive with one another (they've admitted that Scrabble games end up a big fight). Catherine told others there that if William was going to try anything at the center, then so would she. “Catherine said, 'not that we are competitive but if he does that I'm going to have to do that', and she did,” national chairman of Mountain Rescue England and Wales, Mike France told the paper. Earlier in the day, William and Catherine were greeted by huge crowds in Caernarfon, Wales, as well as some massive bubbles. “I'm particularly impressed with the giant bubbles,” William told officials who awaited his and Catherine's arrival. “George would be absolutely obsessed by that. “I will have to get one of those for Christmas.” Wales faces a high suicide rate, so the attention being paid to mental wellness is key in helping improve lives.
