Britney Spears’ ‘Till The World Ends’ Video Nods To ‘Slave 4 U’

Latest clip reminds us of her 2001 smash — and it’s not the first time the pop superstar has sampled her own video catalog. By Christina Garibaldi Britney Spears in “Til The Word Ends” Photo: Jive With Wednesday’s release of Britney Spears’ new video for “Till the World Ends,” the pop diva showed she can dance her way through anything — even an apocalypse. The edgy look, steamy scenes and pulsating dance moves take us back to Spears’ 2001 hit “Slave 4 U.” Some of the key elements of “Till the World Ends” mirror “Slave,” from the videos’ sweaty dance scenes to the sexy wardrobe changes to an almost identical scene in which Britney sits among a group of sultry dancers. And this isn’t the first time the princess of pop has paid homage to herself. 5 Reasons Why Being A Princess Is Not All It’s Cracked Up To Be

Originally posted here:

Growing up, I, like pretty much every other young girl, wanted to be a princess. I dressed up in costumes and wore a long pink skirt over my head pretending I had really long ‘Princess Jasmine-esque’ hair, and bossed around my friends, who I, in my obnoxious state, didn’t let be princesses for the game. I imagined living in a castle, riding horses all day, waving to adoring fans who flocked to meet me, traveling to far away exotic countries and of course, getting to wear a tiara. To my six year old mind, this sort of lifestyle seemed like bliss. Now, I’m not going to lie, sometimes when I see photographs of Prince Harry, third in line to the British throne, I still wouldn’t mind being a princess, at least for a day, because I secretly (or probably not so secretly) love him. But watching all the drama and intense scrutiny the world over about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s impending wedding has really changed my mind about being a bonafide princess. I came across an article about Kate Middleton and how she was criticized for wearing a sheer blouse , because her style would have to change now that she is to become a princess, and it got me thinking; I really don’t think the perks of the job are enough to counterbalance the crazy scrutiny and intense pressure placed upon royals, and I don’t think the job is one I could handle, and here are 5 reasons why. 1. Intense scrutiny You only need to open a magazine, or try to read a newspaper, to see how crazy the hype about the “Royal Wedding” is, even here in America. Tabloids have devoted whole sections to event, the iPad has a new app so you can have access to every minute detail, from wedding dress selections to cake ingredients, the happy couple’s faces are plastered on everything from plates and mugs to condoms and refrigerators, even jewelers are making replica Princess Diana engagement rings. It is a circus. Weddings are stressful enough being your average everyday person, adding in the attention of the entire world by being a princess, sounds plain horrific. 2. Lose normal life Can you even imagine not being free to relax in your own home or have the luxury of wandering around town on your own, without a security detail following your every move? Apparently, Prince William and Kate will get to live in a castle (my six year old self is dying inside a little of jealousy), but their home, Kensington Palace, is also a museum, so everyday, flocks of tourist will be roaming the grounds. Even though obviously private quarters are off limits to tourists, it would still bug me that even in my own home, I’m not completely free from the prying eyes of the public. 3. Risk losing family For Danish Crown Princess Mary, marrying Prince Fredrick meant having to give up her native Australian citizenship and signing away her right to custody of her children in the event of a divorce. Kate Middleton has already spoken about her fears of not being able to be a member of her family in the same way as before once she becomes an official Princess, and the fears she has for her family being hassled by paparazzi constantly. It sadly all seems like a little bit too much to go through, no? 4. Paparazzi Celebrities get followed by paparazzi all the time, and generally I have little sympathy for them. In my mind, it’s a mall price to pay for living the high life and getting paid ridiculously well to do a job you love. But the constant presence of the cameras in people such as Kate Middleton’s life, is something that I have sympathy for. She is not famous for being a singer, actress, sports star, even reality television ‘star’, but simply for being in love with someone who one day, will become King of 16 countries, so she did not invite paparazzi into her life, nor does her career benefit from the attention. Rather, the paparazzi attention focuses on her fashion sense, weight, and etiquette, and desperately looks for a cheating scandal. I can’t think of anything worse than being followed everyday by cameramen, and the entire world commenting on my weight, what I look like without makeup, whether or not my hair color suits me, was my outfit too expensive or too racy, was eating a hamburger appropriate for a royal? And imagine the scandal if I dared to do something mundane or something not deemed ‘proper’ enough by Royal standards! 5. Having an allowance I could get used to the idea of being given an allowance, hell, I can’t think of anything better than getting an allowance! But, having to rely on the allowance because I can’t actually go out and go to work everyday like everyone else on the planet, sort of kills off the fun of the free money. What would you do to occupy your time, if you didn’t get a chance to work in a field you were passionate about, just because you’re going to be a Queen? Being a Princess is a lot of fun when you’re a kid, and reading about the enviable wardrobes and vacations of modern day royals, makes for a fun daydream, but in reality, I would take my boring, normal lifestyle every day of the week, over being a real-life Princess, even if I got to wear a tiara. Marloes Horst Does Swimwear and Lingerie of the Day

I can’t help but respect and appreciate any girl who’s last name starts with the world WHORE. Especially when their career is based on them getting paid to get naked or half naked…like a whore…only they are called “Models” to make it all okay…socially acceptable, even prestigious enough to make a bitch who at the age of 12 would never have thought she’d be exchanging money for her body…hell bitch wanted to be a Vet or a nurse or a seamstress or whatever girls want to be when they grow up…but realized, it’s a lot easier to just take her clothes off for money than to actual work for anything. It’s pretty much the stripper way. We’ve seen her topless before – and I’m a fan… So enjoy this campaign she did for some Swimwear/Lingerie line called Princess Tam Tam (free advertising, free advertising)…. FOLLOW ME

Hilarious SXSW Super Mario Bros. Indie Trailer: Mario(‘s Soul) is Missing

SXSW airs mini-films before some of its screenings, and this one by Joe Nicolosi is probably the funniest you’ll see: an indie re-rendering of Super Mario’s struggles with mushroom dependency, letting go of Princess Peach, and Bowser’s one-liners. You’ll cry and cry and blow into the underside of the cartridge all over again.

Her Royal Hotness Kate Middleton Bikini Pics

Here’s future Queen Kate Middleton working her bikini body on a yacht somewhere looking pretty damn sexy if you ask me. I didn’t realize her body was so damn tight, no wonder Prince William The Balding chose her to be his Princess. Well done sir. It’s not going to be hard to stand at attention for this Queen, if you know what I mean… And I think you do. Looking good your royal hotness, looking good.

‘Eagle’ Star Jamie Bell Talks Channing Tatum, Horseplay

‘It was no contest,’ Bell boasts to MTV News about besting co-star Tatum in horseback riding for the period flick. By Kara Warner Jamie Bell Photo: MTV News Judging by posters and trailers for the upcoming swords-and-sandals flick “The Eagle” alone, it seems that one of the key factors that led stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell to sign up for the Roman warrior action adventure was the opportunity to play: from swinging swords to riding horses. However, when MTV News spoke to Bell as he promoted “The Eagle,” the actor revealed that there was actually a lot of work behind all that horseplay (pun intended!). “It was a very kind of challenging approach to a film,” Bell said about learning to ride a horse and speak in a new language for his role as Briton slave Esca before production began. “There was a lot to be done before we even got to set. So, in that regard, all of the prep was actually the hardest thing,” he explained. Bell added that although horseback riding was the most difficult, he grew to love his furry companion. “I was actually really sad to see the horse go, to be honest,” Bell admitted. “I had the fastest horse as well, I want to point that out.” He went on to say that he discovered his steed’s speed on one of the very few occasions that he and Tatum were allowed to gallop with their horses. “At one occasion they were like, ‘All right guys, you can go full pedal to the metal. It’s flat ground. It’s really good for the horses. You’ll be fine; have at it.’ It was no contest,” Bell bragged. “I was just whoooshh! I was gone. Channing’s horse was having a bit of trouble,” he said with a smile. Katy Perry Producer Sandy Vee Calls Grammy Nods ‘Amazing’

Dance music producer/songwriter behind Grammy-nominated hits for Rihanna and Perry tells MTV News a Britney Spears collabo is in the works. By Adam Stewart Sandy Vee Photo: MTV News “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.” Sandy Vee should have a T-shirt imprinted with the “Wizard of Oz”-inspired line because the modest, French-born dance music producer/songwriter is behind some of the past year’s biggest pop tunes, garnering Grammy nods for Katy Perry’s “Firework” (Album of the Year), and Rihanna’s trance-infused smash “Only Girl (In the World)” (Best Dance Recording). Still riding high off of his Grammy accolades, Vee is also celebrating his work on Rihanna’s latest, the controversial “S&M,” which he co-produced with Norwegian electronic duo Stargate. “I speak for all European producers: When you’re from Europe — [especially] when you’re French — and you’re in America, and you find out that you’re nominated for a couple of Grammys? In the life of a producer, that’s just amazing, that’s, ‘Wow, I worked so much,’ and just wow!” he told MTV News. “I’m just really excited and I have a lot of fun in what I do, and this is important for me.” Despite his work with high-profile artists, Vee said he prefers to remain behind the scenes and cherishes the sanctuary of the studio. “I love to be [in the] background, you know?” he said “My place is in the studio. … I take everything and go produce in my studio and then I make magic happen. I try to get some type of signature by [using] some crazy type of treatment on a song to make it sound more warm, dynamic and large. It’s a bit different, [but this is] the way I do this.” Vee now regularly brushes shoulders with EDM’s elite. After meeting fellow Frenchman David Guetta in 2009 at the nightclub Pacha in Ibiza, Vee became an integral part of the production team that helped create Guetta’s latest album, the massively successful One Love. “Everything started with Guetta; we worked together and we did the song ‘Sexy Bitch’ with Akon, and it was the first big song jumping on top of the Billboard in America, so it changed a lot of things,” Vee explained. “Then a lot of people wanted to get a more uptempo, dance-club sound. All these came naturally, after doing the song with David.” Vee’s production wizardry has made him sought after in pop-music circles, so much so that he’s even drawn the attention of the Princess of Pop herself, Britney Spears, who’s been making waves with her dub-step infused single “Hold It Against Me.” “We’ve got a song with Britney. It’s not official right now, but we’ve got a song and we’re talking about it so we’ll see!” In addition to the possible Spears pairing and more work with Rihanna, Perry and Guetta, Vee told us collaborations with Enrique Iglesias, Kylie Minogue and Mike Posner are all in the pipeline. Don’t miss “Snooki & Sway: Live From the Grammys,” a red-carpet live stream kicking off Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on MTV.com.
