Did MTV Cancel The City?

Here’s a nasty rumor that tops anything Lauren Conrad ever started: Laguna Beach spinoff The City may be off the air soon. According to Fashionista , the reality series about Whitney Port’s travails as a New York fashion designer may be over thanks to Port and co-star Olivia Palermo’s disinterest. I guess this means Diane von Furstenburg will be reduced to cameo appearances on Project Runway while Kelly Cutrone will have to just hang out on her own Bravo show. Devastating. [ Fashionista ]

So You Think You Can Dance Auditions: ‘Marge Simpson’ Mania

Emergency advice: Now’s a good time to start watching So You Think You Can Dance if you haven’t. After lackluster seasons of American Idol and Project Runway , quality reality programming is making a zesty comeback in the form of Cat Deeley’s danceoff. Stellar judging, magnetic contestants, and now, a sloppy “Marge Simpson” bun on dancer Nicole Knudson are setting this show apart. We’re revisiting last night’s three greatest moments — Nicole’s startling audition (and zany body), the return of two contestants who were eliminated for contractual reasons last year, and the reemergence of an inspiring young robot.

Beth Ostrosky Says Howard Stern Would Be A Tough Judge on Idol

Howard Stern’s gorgeous wife, Beth Ostrosky, says the shock jock would be as tough an “American Idol” judge as Simon Cowell. “I am so fortunate that I get to sit next to Howard when he critiques ‘Idol’ every week at home,” Ostrosky said. “Not only is it hysterical, he’s so honest. I think he would be great.” Asked if official talks were under way, Beth, speaking at the Fashion Week catwalk for Heidi Klum’s “Project Runway,” said, “He’s having fun with the idea. I don’t know, you’ll have to ask him.” We first reported that Stern is an early favorite among producers to take over for Simon. A source close to “Idol” said, “Producers are focused on the show right now, and no decision on a replacement will be announced soon. Howard is making a good case for himself as a judge.” Fox declined to comment. Share and Enjoy:

The Bachelorette Studfinder: Ali’s 5 Dreamiest Options

Ali Fedotowsky is not just a romantic clone of Project Runway season one contestant Alexandra Vidal . She’s a serious navigator traversing the primetime battlefield of love. Or an out-of-luck driver traversing a Los Angeles highway, but we’ll get to that in a second. Ali’s eliminated a throng of duds thus far on The Bachelorette , but Movieline’s now inspecting her five best options left in the competition. The forecast is giirrrrrrl, he fine with a chance of “entertainment wrestling.”

Tim Gunn Carries On In ‘The Smurfs Movie’

‘Project Runway’ mentor joins cast as an executive assistant at a cosmetics company. By Adam Rosenberg Tim Gunn Photo: Henry S. Dziekan III/ Getty Images For a movie about a bunch of little blue people, the cast of “The Smurfs Movie” is sure getting very big. The latest to join the cast is noted fashion expert and “Project Runway” mentor Tim Gunn. Variety reports that Gunn will play the role of an executive assistant at a major cosmetics company. Presumably, director Raja Gosnell will work out some way for Gunn to utter his “Runway” catchphrase, “Make it work,” to Tailor Smurf . The fashion guru joins a cast that already includes Neil Patrick Harris , “Glee” star Jayma Mays, Hank Azaria and Sofia Vergara, as well as the voice-acting talents of Katy Perry , Fred Armisen, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin, Paul Reubens, Alan Cumming, Jeff Foxworthy, Wolfgang Puck and Jonathan Winters. “Smurfs” shooting is under way right now in New York City. Just this week, MTV ran an image of Azaria decked out as Gargamel , the evil wizard who was driven on the cartoon by his mad desire to cook and eat the Smurfs. The movie will follow the diminutive blue people as they flee from their village after Gargamel locates it. They slip away through a magical portal and land smack in the middle of New York City’s Central Park. With Gargamel close behind, the Smurfs must find a way home before the wizard catches up with them. Gunn has appeared in guest roles on “Ugly Betty” and “How I Met Your Mother,” which also happens to star Harris. Gunn also hosts his own reality TV series on Bravo, “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style.” “The Smurfs Movie” isn’t out until August 2011, but Gunn will be featured on the big screen long before then: He’ll be seen in the upcoming “Sex and the City 2,” which is out at the end of this month. Movieline Interviews Project Runway’s Bickering Runners-Up Mila and Emilio — at the Same Time

They may have lost Project Runway last night to Seth Aaron Henderson , but second- and third-place finishers Emilio Sosa and Mila Hermanovski seem to have gained some respect for one another since shooting their contentious season. In a Movieline interview with the opinionated duo, Mila and Emilio discussed disagreeing with Tim Gunn and Michael Kors, snipes from less “mature” contestants, and the state of their tensions (which I may have aggravated after Emilio noted that he hadn’t watched the finale because he doesn’t have cable, and I informed him that Mila called his final line “Harlem in 1994”).
