#MeToo: Sarah Jessica Parker Reveals She Was Harassed On Set By A “Very Big Movie Star”

Source: Mario Mitsis/WENN.com / WENN Sarah Jessica Parker Says She Was Harassed by A Big Movie Star On Set Sadly, even the biggest stars in the industry are subject to power imbalances and harassment in the workplace. Sarah Jessica Parker revealed recently that she was harassed by a “very, very big movie star” during a discussion of the #MeToo movement on an episode of NPR’s Fresh Air . The actress did not name who the person was or give away the project, but she wanted to make it clear that industry problems with harassment exist on all levels. She admitted that recent events forced her to reevaluate the way she had been treated throughout her career. “It really wasn’t, I would say, until about six or eight months ago that I started recognizing countless experiences of men behaving poorly, inappropriately, and all the ways that I had made it possible to keep coming to work or to remain on set, or to simply … just push it down, push it away, find a little space for it and move on,” she told host Terry Gross. The Sex and the City star also noted that a perceived power imbalance between herself and the unnamed star kept her quiet about his harassment for a really long time. Luckily, she eventually decided that she had enough and explained the situation to her agent. Her agent ended up threatening the right people, saying that Parker would walk if the harassment continued, and that’s when the environment changed immediately. “I didn’t have to listen to jokes about me or my figure or what people thought they could talk me into doing,” she said. “That stopped.” Sarah Jessica Parker also admitted that it can be difficult, even for a star of her caliber, to come forward.  “I didn’t feel as powerful as the man who was behaving inappropriately, which … strikes me as just stunning to say out loud because there were plenty of occasions where it was happening and I was in a different position and I was as powerful.”

Kim Kardashian: Fine, I’m SORRY I Tried to Trademark "Kimono!"

When Kim Kardashian tried to trademark the word “kimono,” she got called out. Her first instinct was to insist that “kimono” wasn’t cultural appropriation despite a massive outcry. Now, Kim has wisely changed her tune and shown real growth. But what’s her brand’s new name? Kim Kardashian spoke about the kimono kontroversy with WSJ Magazine in their first-ever all-digital issue. “You would think we would have obviously thought it through a little bit deeper,” Kim admits. She says: “I’m the first person to say, ‘Okay, of course, I can’t believe we didn’t think of this.’” Kim wants to clarify that “I obviously had really innocent intentions.” “But, let’s listen,” Kim adds. “And I want to really listen.” “And I want to really take it all in,” she expresses. She notes that Kanye “was in Japan when all of this was happening.” “It’s a place that we love and go to,” Kim reminds the world. “I have such respect.” “I am always listening, learning, and growing,” Kim affirms. Hey, so are the rest of us. And most of us aren’t hindered by the celbrity bubble. Kim wants to make it clear that “I so appreciate the passion and varied perspectives that people bring to me.” Last week, the most famous of the famous family revealed that she was walking back her brand’s intended name. “When I announced the name of my shapewear line,” Kim announced. “I did so with the best intentions in mind.” “My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core,” she emphasized. “And after careful thought and consideration,” Kim revealed. “I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name.” “I will be in touch soon,” she added. “Thank you for your understanding and support always.” Kim does not that there are other kimono trademarked brands that did not evoke this level of backlash. “There might be more eyes on me and my brand,” Kim humble-brags. “And so I have to tune it out and really learn and really grow,” she suggests. “And have to realize that maybe there is a different standard.” “Do I feel held to a higher standard?” Kim asks rhetorically. She then emphasizes: “I’ll take responsibility for that and do the right thing.” So what will this new brand be called? “We’re figuring it all out now,” Kim promises. She explains that she decided to get into shapewear and solutionwear because “everyone needs this.” “Underwear, bras,” Kim lists. “This is what people wear every day.” That’s true enough. This is not the first time that Kim has come under fire with accusations of cultural appropriation. Like a couple of her sisters, she does not understand why some communities of color resent seeing her wear cornrows. The reason, of course, is that in most states, people can lose their jobs or be denied employment for “unprofessional” hairstyles like that. Here’s a hint: “unprofessional” is by and large a euphemism for “black” when it refers to hairstyles. Seeing a mega-millionaire whose own immediate family is black flaunt hair that causes people of color to face discrimination is understandably upsetting. People aren’t out to spoil Kim’s fun, and not all criticisms that Kim faces are fair or true, but it’s good to hear that she is open to listening. Meghan Markle Tell-All Book Idea Shot Down HARD By Palace!

Meghan Markle just wants to get her creative juices flowing. But the Hollywood actress-turned-royal Duchess is finding it difficult to adapt to her new life filled with strict rules set in place by the palace.  Rules that are apparently restricinting her from writing a book.  A tell-all book to be exact, a book that is basically everything we have ever wanted and more, but the palace is silencing Markle’s wish. And the people’s dreams.  Radar Online recently reported that the Duchess of Sussex is feeling “oppressed by the palace” ever since they immediately shut down her idea of writing a tell-all memoir. A source told Radar that the new mom had the idea of releasing a part lifestyle bible, part memoir to document her rise to royalty and all the struggles that come with it. But not at all to our surprise, the palace was not fond of the idea.  “Meghan had started keeping notes about her life, which will include a few personal details about Harry and baby Archie, but will mainly focus on her lifestyle, health, fashion and design choices,” shared the insider. “The only problem is, palace staffers — and the Queen — are firm in their disapproval, worrying that it will be received as a salacious tell-all.” But come on Meghan is a woman of class, and she wouldn’t dare bash the family’s regal history — at least, not too bad anyway. Some, however, believe Meghan to be a nuisance to the kingdom and think she has been rubbing the royals the wrong way ever since she married Prince Harry in May 2017 . Also, considering the many reports on Meghan’s on-going feud with Kate Middleton , her too trendy of fashion choices, and her outrageous Hollywood diva requests, the palace is terrified her book would be a chance to expose or embarrass them. “They’re terrified she’ll accidentally expose palace secrets and cause embarrassment and are demanding she knocks the project on the head,” said the source. “Meghan can’t help but feel that once again, her creative talents are being stifled at every turn.”  But we’re sure Meghan will find a way to win back her creative freedom. The palace knows Meghan isn’t one to follow the rules,  times are changing and the monarch is evolving, so we suggest they buckle up. She may be a rebel , but she’s a rebel with beautiful coats, dresses, and a baby , so who really cares.  Meghan has plenty of time and many more years ahead of her as Duchess — we are sure a tell-all book will be released one day.  (fingers crossed)  View Slideshow: Meghan Markle vs. Kate Middleton Feud: Tearing William and Harry Apart?! Source: Starz / Power A ugust 25, we will be singing “they say it’s a big rich town” for the final season. Starz’s hit original series, Power returns for its sixth and final season. Yesterday (July 6) the network unveiled the trailer for the show, and it basically proves one thing, Ghost (Omari Hardwick) can’t trust a single soul in his shaky circle, not even his own damn son. It’s the final battle between brothers. The #FinalBetrayal begins August 25 on @STARZ . pic.twitter.com/11DlAiT29M — Power (@Power_STARZ) July 6, 2019 All James St. Patrick wants to do is be a legitimate businessman, honor his deceased daughter by getting the Queens Child Project erected and be a loving father to his stubborn ass son Tariq. BUT, of course, that will prove to be difficult thanks in large part to his brother in crime, Tommy (Joseph Sikora) — now trying to cancel Christmas on him… AGAIN — to be the biggest dope dealer in NYC with the help of his boo Keisha (La La Anthony) who has a bone to with her best friend Tasha (Natura Naughton). It also doesn’t help that Riq is out here looking like a watered down version of his dad by getting into the drug game while at the same time partnering up with those who want to see the patriarch of the St. Patrick family six feet under. We can’t forget that Dre (Rotimi) is still running the streets, and the Feds led by Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) are still hot on his tail and want to see the former drug kingpin in jail. The 2:08 trailer confirms the return of Angela Valdez (Lela Loren) who was shot by Tommy in season 5’s “cliffhanger” season finale . Despite viewers thinking it was the end of Ghost’s legendary side chick, showrunner Courtney A.Kemp confirmed immediately that she would be returning for the final season so her presence in the trailer should come as no surprise to anyone. So buckle up, it looks like we are in for a wild ride, season 6 will be bringing the twists and turns and somehow manage to spread it out through 15 episodes. Step into the trailer for Power’s final season below and keep it locked here for full recaps.

Rumored ‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Details Leak, Possibly Inspired By Netflix Show ‘Narcos’

Source: Mario Tama / Getty We still roaming the wild, wild west in Red Dead Redemption 2 , that hasn’t stopped fans for salivating for the next installment in the famed GTA franchise. A Reddit user caused quite a stir on the internet by leaking alleged details for Grand Theft Auto 6 Over the weekend, Reddit user JackOLantern1982 had social media buzzing when he posted a bunch of features he claimed would be in GTA 6 . He claims he acquired the information from a person he knows at online video game publication Kotaku and a “friend” who works Rockstar Games, the studio behind the popular but always controversial title. According to JackOLantern, the next installment has been in development since 2012, will take us back to Vice City and a new fictional location based on Rio de Janeiro and is set in between the 70s-80s. Rumored GTA 6 details: Been in development since 2012 Codename is PROJECT AMERICAS Set in both Vice City and a new fictional location based on Rio de Janeiro Set in 1970s-1980s You play as a drug lord-wannabe named “Ricardo” Inspired by Netflix's Narcos #GTA6 #GTAVI pic.twitter.com/2oH9v1i0Bn — GTA 6 News (@GTA6Intel) June 30, 2019 The leaks also suggest players will control a character named “Ricardo” who is described as a “wannabe drug dealer” with the rumored plot of the highly-anticipated game being “heavily inspired” by the hit Netflix original series Narcos . Other interesting tidbits he shared include is GTA 6 only allowing you to control one character, possible in missions in both Liberty City and supposedly Cuba and somehow the AIDS epidemic being worked into the story. Grand Theft Auto 6 info leaked by a JackOLantern1982 on reddit. #GTA6 #Leak pic.twitter.com/YObgDWB73K — Yash Shukla (@yashshukla23) July 1, 2019 But there is cause for pause with these details. Forbes caught up with video game insider and journalist Jason Schreier he threw cold water on the hot news saying the list is most likely fake. He reasons that the details sound too realistic, while GTA does tackle most relevant pop-culture issues the game does so in a mocking way. He also points to the fact Rockstar hasn’t given any indication it is working on GTA 6 , and with Red Dead Redemption 2 still being the main focus of the studio we shouldn’t be expecting any Grand Theft Auto 6 announcements anytime soon. Besides, Rockstar Games keeps everything it does close to the vest, and we would be shocked if details about GTA 6 did leak out. Not for nothing, it was exciting to read those details, we don’t expect any news about a new Grand Theft Auto game to surface until Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation consoles hit the market. — Photo: Mario Tama / Getty

The two decided to team up and develop a solution. The app—which was founded in 2015—connects barbers and customers. Through SQUIRE, individuals can find barbershops in their area, read customer reviews, and book appointments. Customers also have the opportunity to pay for their haircuts through the app. SQUIRE goes beyond simply booking haircut appointments, it provides barbers throughout the country with the platform to sell products and promote their brand. There is a wide range of shops that are included in the app’s directory, including large high-end shops and small locally owned businesses. The app was launched in New York and expanded to cities like Atlanta, San Francisco and Los Angeles. It now features barbershops in 28 cities. Since its inception, there have been $100 million in transactions processed through the app. The fundraising round was led by Trinity Ventures. “Millions of men need haircuts daily and are looking to find the right barbershop, but the process is usually unnecessarily hard and time consuming,” said Salvant in an interview with Forbes . “SQUIRE lets you locate a barber, schedule your appointment and pay from anywhere you are, now making the process quick and convenient.” The entrepreneurs plan on putting the money raised towards marketing and hiring engineers to work on the app’s infrastructure. “In talking to customers, we realized there was a lot of opportunity to build value in a backend management system,” LaRon said in a statement, according to TechCrunch. Both LaRon and Salvant are carving out a space in an industry that is worth billions. According to Statista , the barber industry is expected to be valued at $26 billion by next year. Jackson State University Student Creates Straw That Filters Lead

F or Jackson State University graduate student LaMonté Pierce what started out as a class project focused on addressing an issue faced by communities in Mississippi led to the creation of a product designed to combat lead poisoning in water, WJTV reported. The JSU graduate student has received impressive offers from big retailers like Walmart which offered to sell CleanStraww in nearly 4,000 stores. https://t.co/0R8Zxwu4Tj — Lanaya Lewis (@LanayaLewis) June 20, 2019 Pierce and other students that he collaborated with decided to use the assignment as an avenue to address water contamination impacting the City of Jackson. They designed a straw that could be used to filter water. Pierce and his classmate Andrew Willis decided to go beyond the project and continue to do research and testing to turn the straw into a product that would be a catalyst in addressing water contamination in communities across the globe. Pierce’s efforts led to the creation of Cleanstraww . The straws are made of non-toxic materials and has a three-step filtering process which divides sediment and particles from water. He utilized a 3-D printer for the creation of the straw. “I saw somewhere they were drinking out of toilets, they were drinking from the river, different things like that. They use simple filters that you can find in everyday filters, but the thing was they did not filter out lead. If we can filter out lead, we can pretty much filter out anything,” he told the news outlet. “Take the responsibility of clean water directly out of the government, state and city officials hands and put it in the hands of the consumers. If you want clean water, here you go.” Several national retailers have expressed interest in selling his product, including Walmart. Pierce hopes that he can find investors for his product to grow his business and create more jobs in Mississippi. Products like Cleanstraww are needed. According to CBS News , lead in America’s water systems has become a growing national crisis.
