‘Revenge’ Star ‘Deeply In Love’ With Robert Pattinson

Madeleine Stowe says she may consider altering role to make it more age-appropriate for ‘Twilight’ star. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Madeleine Stowe Photo: Steve Granitz/ Getty Images Robert Pattinson is so beloved by “Unbound Captives” producer Madeleine Stowe that she may consider altering a character in the film’s script so that the “Twilight Saga” star can take the role. MTV News caught up with Stowe on the Golden Globes red carpet and asked her whether there is any chance of RPattz being in the upcoming film. After all, when we last talked to Pattinson , he suggested that he might now be too old for the role. “The character was conceptualized as an 18-year-old,” Stowe acknowledged. When asked if she would be willing to age up the role so he could still take the part, she said with a laugh, “We might. We might just do that. We’ll see how it all falls.” It wasn’t just the “Twilight” phenomenon that is causing Stowe to be willing to jump through hoops for Pattinson. She explained that she met him before he joined the first “Twilight” film and “fell deeply in love with him” then. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz are also currently attached to the project. In fact, Jackman recently told MTV News that it’s “one of the best scripts I’ve read in a long time.” With Pattinson’s commitment to “Cosmopolis” over with, he seemingly has an open slate ahead of him. Stowe said that Pattinson’s decision to come onboard “Unbound Captives” is strictly in his camp. “It’s going to be sort of up to Robert. We’re looking at 2013 [for a release date] right now,” Stowe said. Stick with MTV News all night for the 2012 Golden Globes winners, and don’t miss all the fashion from the Golden Globes red carpet ! Justin Bieber’s Next Album Is ‘Ridiculous’

Manager Scooter Braun tweets from studio where singer is working on Believe. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: George Pimentel / WireImage With Justin Bieber in full-on album recording mode, his longtime manager, Scooter Braun, has heard just what the teen star is up to and wants everyone to know that Believe is a game-changer for the singer. “Wow!! In the studio with @justinbieber and #Believe is going to be ridiculous!!!” he tweeted about the 17-year-old’s 2012 release. Braun’s message came the same day that Bieber announced that he’s officially working on the project. “Start recording full time for #BELIEVE today. let the fun begin! #newMusic,” he tweeted on Tuesday, hours later adding, “#studio.” But it seems that he’ll take a break to hit up the Consumer Electronics Show, which is currently under way in Las Vegas. “Gonna see what is coming next. #gadgetNERD,” he proclaimed. While Bieber has said that he wants his next release to recall Justin Timberlake’s Future Sex/Love Sounds sonically, in a recent interview with V magazine, he noted that what he’ll be singing is a bit more PG than the topics Timberlake covered on that album. “I’m not going to try to conform to what people want me to be or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol. I want to do it at my own pace,” Bieber says in the issue. “I don’t want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing. I’m into love, and maybe I’ll get more into making love when I’m older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody.” Bieber may not want to get too graphic on this album, but vocal producer Kuk Harrell did note to MTV News that he will be maturing on it in his own way. “The only conversation we’ve had about Justin’s album that we’re about to do is it’s really important that it’s the proper transition because we’ve seen him [with] ‘Baby,’ now we’re watching him grow up,” said Harrell, who also worked with the singer on Under the Mistletoe. “And we can’t just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There’s a record in between.” Are you looking forward to Justin’s next album? Tell us on our Facebook page! The pop queen’s 12th studio LP will be called M.D.N.A., representatives for the singer confirmed to MTV News on Wednesday (January 11). Madonna announced the album title during a taping of the U.K.’s “Graham Norton Show,” which will air Friday on BBC One. While making the press rounds in support of her film “W.E.” , she has offered up a few details on her much-anticipated album, which is reportedly due in late March. On Thursday, “Nightline” is set to air a “candid and revealing” interview with the singer, in which she answers fan questions and addresses talk about a rumored rivalry with Lady Gaga. The singer recently confirmed that “M.D.N.A.” will be released as part of her new three-record deal with Interscope. The first single from the project, “Gimme All Your Luvin” features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.; it’s set for release later this month ahead of Madonna’s performance at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show on February 5 in Indiana. “We couldn’t be happier to work with [Interscope’s] Jimmy Iovine, [Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Group] Lucian Grainge and the entire Interscope team,” Madonna’s longtime manager Guy Oseary said in a statement about the new label deal. “We anticipate a very bright future at our new home.” The Super Bowl performance will reportedly be “imagined” by Cirque du Soleil and Madonna’s longtime choreographer/ creative director Jamie King. The event may also feature appearances from her “Gimme All Your Luvin” collaborators. According to reports, the set list for the Super Bowl show will include “Luvin” as well as Madonna classics like “Ray of Light,” Vogue” and “Music.” A demo version of “Luvin” hit the Web last November and received positive advance buzz from critics and bloggers. with the leak, and Oseary took to Twitter to say that while they were “very happy with the positive reaction to the demo,” they were “very upset with whoever leaked the song.” That disappointment translated into legal action in late December, when a 31-year-old man in Zaragoza, Spain, was arrested for leaking the song. Lindsay Lohan In Talks To Play Elizabeth Taylor In TV Movie

‘Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story’ will follow Taylor’s epic romance with fellow superstar Richard Burton. By Kara Warner Lindsay Lohan and Elizabeth Taylor Photo: Getty Images Nine days into the new year, and we already have our first surprising Lindsay Lohan story. The recent Playboy cover girl ‘s next role might be that of Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor in a made-for-TV-movie for Lifetime. According to Deadline , Lohan is in very early talks to play the lead role in Lifetime’s original movie “Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story.” The TV movie, which was announced at the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers in May 2011, will be a biopic and will reportedly revolve around the epic romance between movie icons Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, whose tempestuous relationship was the most infamous celebrity love affair of its day. In a nutshell, Taylor and Burton were the original “Brangelina.” Lohan’s potential involvement would definitely elevate interest in the project, no matter the production or air date. The problem-plagued 25-year-old could use something positive in her professional career, since the last time we heard from Lohan was via her Playboy interview and court hearings that led to 30 days in jail for violating probation, not attending court-mandated therapy sessions and getting tossed from a community-service gig. Lohan seems to have a thing for misunderstood, old-school Hollywood icons, given the Marilyn Monroe theme in her Playboy spread and her onetime involvement in a Linda Lovelace biopic. Furthermore, Lohan and Taylor have a few interesting things in common, according to a 2010 article from Slate . “Both had domineering stage mothers, little semblance of a real childhood, fame from a young age, substance abuse issues, public emotional outpourings, and copious amounts of tabloid drama,” wrote Slate senior editor Jessica Grose. “The key difference, though, is that Elizabeth Taylor had a true record of achievement before she became the most notorious movie star in America. She had made almost 30 movies by the time she and Burton were making headlines.” There has been no official comment from Lohan or Lifetime yet. Related Photos Elizabeth Taylor: A Life In Photos

Devil Inside Director Fails Upward

Congrats of some fashion are in order to William Brent Bell, whose universally reviled yet spectacularly successful The Devil Inside has today yielded news of his not-very-anticipated follow-up. Written by David Cohen, The Vatican is said to be a “conspiracy-driven thriller that uses some found-footage techniques like The Devil Inside did”; Warner Bros. is reportedly fast-tracking the project. Good to know! I’ll ready the riot police . [ Deadline ]

REVIEW: If You’ve Seen One Demonic-Possession Movie and It’s The Devil Inside, You’ve Seen Them All

The characters who manned the cameras in  The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield weren’t pros, providing an excuse for the shakiness and dizzy-making whip pans. Michael (Ionut Grama), the guy who’s supposed to be shooting the faux documentary  The Devil Inside,  is a filmmaker, so the fact that he can’t seem to keep anything in focus and frames shots so awkwardly is bewildering. Does this guy actually have a faux filmography, or is this his faux debut? And why does he mount cameras in multiple locations around his subject Isabella Rossi’s (Fernanda Andrade) car when he’s always with her anyway — does he imagine himself the Abbas Kiarostami of exorcism exposés? There’s a lot of downtime in which to consider issues like this in  The Devil Inside , a film co-written and directed by William Brent Bell ( Stay Alive ) that obviously aims for the same lower-budget found footage niche as the Paranormal Activity franchise. Like those films,  The Devil Inside ‘s most substantive aspect is its marketing — I cowered at its trailer whenever it ran before various holiday season offerings, and the poster highlights a shot from one of the two genuinely creepy possession sequences, featuring Suzan Crowley showing off the upside down cross carved on the inside of her lip. But the reality of  The Devil Inside is that it’s a half-hearted patchwork of ideas blatantly lifted from better films, with characters who have to act increasingly foolish in order to allow the action to go forward and an ending so anticlimactic and abrupt that the audience at the screening I attended erupted in enraged boos as the credits rolled. Crowley plays Maria Rossi, a housewife and the mother of Isabella, who one night in 1989 killed the nun and two priests who were attempted to exorcise the demons within her. Judged insane, she was transferred to a mental hospital in Rome, though the oddness of this (is that covered by her health insurance?) never seems to occur to Isabella, who’s grown up into a pretty twentysomething when she agrees to be the subject of Michael’s documentary. The two travel to Italy, where Isabella plans to visit her mother for the first time while also exploring the Vatican’s exorcism school, portrayed as a kind of Catholic Hogwarts with classes into which you can wander. At one of these lectures she meets priests Ben (Simon Quarterman) and David (Evan Helmuth), a pair of vigilante ordained exorcists (totally) who take an interest in her case. Isabella’s initial encounter with her mother at the hospital and the exorcism to which Ben and David later take her are both effective within  The Devil Inside ‘s low-budget parameters, thanks to the performers. Crowley, disheveled and bug-eyed, presents an uneasy combination of drugged-up dissociation and ominous flashes of lucidity, and the film’s switching between cameras makes the situation more unpredictable. The second sequence, in which the two priests attempt to cleanse a possessed girl named Rosa (Bonnie Morgan), has the benefit of contortionist Bonnie Morgan, who knots her body into wince-inducing shapes that would seem to require supernatural aid to maintain, then spits and screams and bleeds from her crotch. Neither offers anything new — if you’ve seen one demonic-possession movie and it’s  The Devil Inside , then you’ve seen them all, because it borrows liberally from every one of them. But both show more signs of focus than the rest of the film, which relies on meandering interviews and to-camera confessionals to pad out what little action there is to be had. And while this is a hardly a feature intended to be held up to close scrutiny, each subsequent twist the latter half takes is ever more laughable — why is a man allowed to just walk away after almost committing infanticide? Why do these characters who are obsessed with possession, who live and breathe it, not notice that it’s taking place under their own roof? Does it end the way it does because the filmmakers simply ran out of ideas, or did they become as fed up with these characters as we have? The found footage/fake documentary approach has plenty of benefits for the horror genre: It doesn’t require stars, it offers workaround for lower budgets and limited effects capabilities and it’s supposed to look a little cruddy. But good films in this subgenre have great concepts and demonstrate ingenuity in terms of filmmaking.  The Devil Inside just comes across as lazy and unnecessarily serious given how silly it becomes — if it had just a touch of lightness, at least it’d feel like we were laughing with it instead of at it.

Demi Moore Joins ‘Lovelace’ Biopic

Actress will play feminist icon Gloria Steinem in flick about adult film star Linda Lovelace. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Moore Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage “Lovelace” has found its Gloria Steinem. Demi Moore will play the feminist icon, who covered the release of the adult film “Deep Throat” and profiled its star, Linda Lovelace, in Ms. magazine back in the 1970s. According to The Hollywood Reporter, other new additions to the cast include Adam Brody, who will play Lovelace’s “Deep Throat” co-star Harry Reems, and Eric Roberts, who’s onboard as lie detector expert Nat Laurendi. “Lovelace” is currently shooting in Los Angeles, where Moore, Roberts and Brody join Amanda Seyfried (as Lovelace) and James Franco, who’ll make a cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard as Lovelace’s husband, Chuck Traynor; Bobby Cannavale and Chris Noth as “Deep Throat” investors Butchie Peraino and Anthony Romano; Hank Azaria as writer/director Jerry Damiano; Robert Patrick as Linda’s father, John Boreman; and Sharon Stone as Lovelace’s mother. Juno Temple will play the adult film star’s best friend and Wes Bentley has been cast as her second husband. “Howl” directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are helming the project. According to previous reports, the role of Rat Packer Sammy Davis Jr. has yet to be cast. “It’s going to be really hard and kind of terrifying at the same time,” Seyfried told ABCNews.com about the role in December. “It’s something completely different. I do have some liberties there but I am playing someone that existed in history and had quite an established reputation for something very extreme.” Seyfried is not the first actress attached to the Linda Lovelace role. Seyfried’s “Mean Girls” co-star and Playboy cover girl Lindsay Lohan was set to star in a separate Lovelace biopic before getting dropped by producers more than a year ago. Before Seyfried nabbed the role in this latest biopic, Olivia Wilde had also been mentioned as a possible star. Help Caption This Photo of Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey Stripping in ‘Magic Mike’

One of the most anticipated titles among circles who enjoy male strippers and movies is the upcoming Steven Soderbergh drama Magic Mike — a movie about male strippers that allegedly lured the filmmaker away from early retirement . At long last, a first image from the project has surfaced featuring Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum striking a pose onstage for what promises to be a very patriotic (and erotic) dance number. You know what this means, fellow Movieliners — grab the nearest captioning pen and stack of singles. Where to even begin? McConaughey appears in classic McConaughey fashion ( shirtless ). Tatum appears in classic G.I. Joe franchise-star fashion (in camouflage). For further captioning reference, the official premise of Magic Mike is as follows: “Veteran male stripper Magic Mike (Tatum) teaches a new male stripper (Pettyfer) about the occupation. They work at the club Xquisite, which is owned by the former male stripper Dallas (McConaughey).” The project is inspired by Tatum’s experiences as a teenage stripper in Florida. Joe Manganiello (also pictured above) co-stars as Big Dick Richie. Magic Mike is scheduled for a June 29, 2012, release. Let the captioning begin! Follow Julie Miller on Twitter .
