In an interview with Open Magazine : He sheepishly admits that he loves Lauryn Hill’s music too. Rohan was in a 10-year-long relationship with the hip-hop singer before they split in 2011, and the former couple have five children together. “I feel sad that I loved her so much and I faltered in expressing it to her somehow. It was my fault that she did not understand how I felt, and it was sad that we did not work out in that relationship sense. I was heartbroken for a long time,” he says. Rohan was recently engaged to Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana. “But that too did not work out. Now, I am just engaged to myself,” he says with a laugh, “It is tough, but we are not to ask ourselves, ‘Could you be loved?’ but to say, ‘Yes, I am loved’.” So after being dumped by the white girl that’s when you want to stand up and do right by Lauryn Rohan? We just don’t understand why these politicians and other folks set themselves up to be called racist then act surprised when people actually do! Via NYDailyNews reports : Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind was sharply criticized Monday for dressing up in blackface and a large Afro wig to a Purim holiday party he hosted on Sunday. Hikind said the costume, which also included dark sunglasses and a bright orange basketball jersey, was part of a “good fun” celebration of the festive Jewish holiday. “Yes, I wore a costume on Purim and hosted a party,” Hikind wrote on his blog Monday morning. “Most of the people who attended also wore costumes. Everywhere that Purim was being celebrated, people wore costumes. It was Purim. People dress up.” Hikind added he was “intrigued that anyone who understands Purim—or for that matter understands me—would have a problem with this. This is political correctness to the absurd. There is not a prejudiced bone in my body.” But a Brooklyn city councilman, Democrat Charles Barron, said of the costume, “It is racist.” Barron dismissed Hikind’s comments justifying the get-up. “That is a bunch of crap. He is trying to justify his racism,” Barron said. Barron added: “If he wanted to find somebody who liked strange wild and crazy, he should look in the mirror. He didn’t have to pick on us.” A photo of Hikind in the costume was posted on his Facebook page before being removed Monday morning. Hikind told the website Politicker, which first reported that he wore the costume, that a professional makeup artist came to his home to apply the makeup, which proved difficult to remove afterward. The assemblyman said he spent more than 30 minutes in the shower scrubbing his face and still could not remove all of it. “I came out and I wiped my face and I still had stuff on my face. It’s going to take me a while,” the assemblyman explained. “But it’s all worth it, I would do it again in a minute.”. What were people expecting, Rihanna’s line to be classy? While some of the British press was fawning over RihRih and comparing her to Princess Diana it seems that not everyone is a fan of her new River Island line, which made it’s debut in London over the weekend. You’ve gotta read how Daily Beast writer Tom Sykes trashed her show: There were few who anticipated a fashion triumph, but, even allowing for the limited expectations, Rihanna’s collection for River Island as brought forth in London tonight was a horror show. The clothes were hideous and without an ounce of panache or style between them. True, there were some consolations. For example, if you really, really like belly buttons, if you are totally nuts for navels, then this could be the collection for you. If you only feel capable of wearing clothes on the lower half of your body if they are slashed up to your waist, then again, you are in luck. Similarly, if you were a guy hoping for a one night stand and a girl started chatting to you in a bar wearing anything from the Rihanna for River Island collection, you could feel fair confident you’d be getting lucky. The only lingering uncertainty in your mind would be whether or not she would take a credit card. Even before Rihanna unveiled her unsurprisingly slutty and yet tiresomely predictable collection for River Island at London Fashion Week tonight, there were many who said that it was a mistake to allow the world’s most famous pop star of the moment to hijack an event which is supposed to be about celebrating creativity, passion and original thinking in fashion (as opposed to lazily co-opting celebrity endorsement to shift mediocre, mass-market product, which is what McDonalds is for). Wow… That’s harsh. But Sykes also fairly questioned Rihanna’s credentials: Rihanna’s a fantastic singer with a talent for publicity, but has she ever drawn a line of chalk on a piece of cloth? Graded a pattern? Spent a year or four at St Martin’s? But the bashing didn’t end there: Rihanna claimed in a pre-show promotional video that her collection was “casual”, “chic” and “flirty”. In the event it was like Fright Night in Kmart. But doubtless this hardly matters to Ri-Ri. She flew in today, she’ll probably be on the first flight back tomorrow, dismissing the haters like me, her million dollar cheque safely cashed, her part of the contract fulfilled. No doubt the River Island collection will sell furiously to Rihanna’s fans, who will be delighted with the new, porny additions to their wardrobes. Maybe – brace, brace – she’ll even be back for a second season. Yikes… Does this make you want to run out and buy the line or what? A former LAPD officer has written a manifesto sympathizing with Christopher Dorner , the fugitive ex-LA cop who has declared “war” on the LAPD LAPD Cop Says He Had Similar Experiences As Cop Killer Chris Dorner “The 1st thing I would say to [Dorner] is, I feel your pains!,” Joe Jones wrote in his manifesto, circulated Tuesday by hacker group Anonymous and posted to Jones’ Facebook. “But you are going about this the wrong way. To take innocent lives could never be the answer to anything. I say this as a Man who experienced the same pain, betrayal, anger, suffering, litigation and agony that you did in many ways.” Jones, 48, was a patrol officer for nine years, retired in 1998 and now has an event-planning company in LA, the LA Weekly reports. It appears that Jones’ Facebook may have been disabled hours after posting his manifesto (see full manifesto below). He expressed his condolences for Dorner’s victims as well as victims of “the injustices of Police Corruption, Scandal, Lies, Deception and Brutality.” Jones said he himself has been a victim of such corruption. “I need you to first assume that I would not surface 16 years later with lies about a situation that has me with PTSD to this very day,” he wrote. “The pain forces me to speak as I have yet to shake the Ill’s of my experience as an LAPD Officer.” Jones’ accounts of being personally wronged by the LAPD include: 1) I had my home viciously attacked by a gunman with my family and myself inside the house. No arrests were made and my family and I Received very little support. 2) I had my Civil Rights violated on several occasions. I was falsely arrested at gunpoint by the Sheriffs as an Officer who ID’d himself and was conspired against by both LAPD and the Sheriffs when my Civil case went to Trial. 3) I was falsely accused on more than one occasion and simply placed in a position that the trust was so compromised that I could no longer wear the Uniform. Also know there were many more episodes. All of these issues are well documented The former cop drew eerie parallels with Dorner, saying that he looks like Dorner, saying that “like… Dorner I used to smile a lot,” and starting his manifesto off with the exact same intro as Dorner, ” I know most of you who personally who [sic] me are in disbelief…” Do you think more police officers will come out to support Dorner’s claims??
