Some 67 GOP members voted “No” on $9 billion in aid , and good ‘ole boy Paul Lyan was one of the heartless politicos who wouldn’t give additional assistance to victims in NJ and NY. SMH. Via the NY Daily Mail : Republican lawmakers who voted against the first Hurricane Sandy relief package scrambled to explain their votes as their offices were swamped Saturday by a deluge of angry phone calls from storm victims. Sixty-seven members of the House of Representatives, all Republicans, voted against the $9.7 billion funding package that will help the ailing federal flood insurance program to pay the legitimate claims of those impacted by the historic storm. Most of the lawmakers explained that they were making a statement not against the victims in the northeast states, which all lean Democratic, but rather the federal government’s bloated budget.”Being from South Carolina, I can understand the need for disaster relief,” said Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC). “However, we’re over $16 trillion in debt, and this bill did not offset the disaster relief funds with spending cuts in other areas.” Some of the representatives who voted against the measure on Friday hail from the Gulf Coast states that received billions of federal aid – some within two weeks – after being hit by Hurricane Katrina. “Of course, we are sympathetic to the hurricane victims,” said Laura Chambers, spokeswoman for Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-MS), who represents cities like Gulfport and Biloxi that were nearly washed away by the killer 2005 storm. “But on the heels of a fiscal cliff deal that added $4 trillion to our existing $16 trillion national debt, we must ensure that disaster relief is paid for,” she said. Staffers of several Congressional Republicans confirmed Saturday that their offices had received scores of angry calls and emails from people furious about their vote. The Daily News printed the office phone numbers of the 67 lawmakers who sided against the bill. That vote total – and the looming clash over the nation’s debt limit – could foreshadow a tougher fight to get the rest of the $60.4 billion package passed when it comes to a vote Jan. 15. The Club for Growth, a conservative lobbying group that advocates for limited government and low taxes, has already warned lawmakers that they would campaign against any candidate who votes for the aid bill. The group demanded that every dollar spent be offset by one cut from somewhere else in the federal budget. “It doesn’t help the nation to pass a giant, overpriced bill that isn’t paid for,” said group spokesman Barney Keller. “This is Congress’ fault. Official Presidential Election Vote Total For Mitt Romney Was 47 Perecent It turns out that Money Mitt’s math might have actually worked out after all….just not quite the way he planned. And ohhhh, the irony…. via THG Mitt Romney’s final vote total in the 2012 presidential election has been tallied, and the Republican challenger received – wait for it – 47 percent of the vote. Yes, it took this entire time to finalize it (you just didn’t hear about it because it wasn’t close), and Romney came in almost exactly at the 47 percent figure. 47.2 percent to be exact. Many will find the number appropriate and ironic, as Romney made waves when a secret video of him talking with donors surfaced late in the campaign season. In the 47 percent video, he said that segment of the country would never vote for him, because they’ve become dependent upon government programs. That Romney final vote is based on the percentage of all presidential votes he garnered in November, and it works out to 47.2 percent of all Americans. Quick! Somebody go get Mitt a glass of water to wash down that foot in his mouth.

According to ESPN , Wade’s not too happy and took his frustration out via twitter : Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade has been suspended one game without pay by the NBA for flailing his leg and making contact with the groin of the Charlotte Bobcats’ Ramon Sessions. The suspension was announced Thursday by Stu Jackson, the NBA’s executive vice president for basketball operations. “I’m far from being a dirty player + my intent was never 2 kick Ramon Sessions,” Wade tweeted Thursday night in reaction to the suspension. “I just reacted to the contact that I got from him…. More than anything, I think of my boys watchin me be4 retaliating 2ward any player. Im moving 4ward + ready 2 get back on the court in MIL.” The incident happened with 8:12 left in the fourth quarter of the Heat’s 105-92 victory over the Bobcats on Wednesday night. And according to CNN , Instagram was real quick to shut down the ‘confusing language’: (CNN) — Faced with a loud and angry backlash from some of its most active users, photo-sharing app Instagram backtracked Tuesday on new language that appeared to give the company ownership of their images. “The language we proposed … raised question about whether your photos can be part of an advertisement,” Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom wrote in a blog post. “We do not have plans for anything like this and because of that we’re going to remove the language that raised the question.” An update Monday to Instagram’s terms of service had stated that data collected through the app can be shared with Facebook. That’s not a surprising move, considering Facebook paid an estimated $1 billion for the photo-sharing service earlier this year. But the language that upset some of the app’s more than 100 million users said that “a business or other entity may pay” Instagram for the use of user images and may do so “without any compensation to you.” Even CNN’s own Anderson Cooper was expressing some concern on the site. “#Instagram will now be able to use anyone’s photos in ads? Without consent?” he wrote on Twitter. “Come on! Is there another photo app people recommend?” Cooper wasn’t the only one considering his options. Bloggers also were spotlighting tools like Hipstamatic and Camera Awesome, as well as Twitter’s own new photo service that includes Instagram-like filters. A year-and-a-half-old blog post from photo-sharing site Flickr was also making the rounds. In it, Yahoo, which owns Flickr, uses language, perhaps aimed at Facebook, that says “(w)e feel very strongly that sharing online shouldn’t mean giving up rights to your photos.” Systrom said Instagram agrees. “Instagram users own their content and Instagram does not claim any ownership rights over your photos,” he wrote. “Nothing about this has changed. We respect that there are creative artists and hobbyists alike that pour their heart into creating beautiful photos, and we respect that your photos are your photos. Period.” It is, of course, too early to know how many people were fleeing Instagram on Tuesday. But anecdotal evidence suggested a movement was afoot. Instaport, a tool that lets users export and and download their Instagram images, was reporting overtaxed servers Tuesday morning. “Our servers are very busy right now, so it may show you some errors,” the company wrote to a user on its Twitter feed. “Please try again later or tomorrow.” So basically, they’ll still use your info and photos to target ads specifically towards you and your followers…and for now, they’re not going to sell your images to anyone, for free. These freakazoid junkies have the same Mom… and when cops rolled up on them parked and getting high, they got popped for incest too. According to The Daily Mail , the half siblings had their baby in a broke down car; the one-year-old was only wearing a t-shirt and a diaper even though it was 38 degrees outside: A half brother and sister in an incestuous relationship were arrested on Friday after police found them smoking meth in a car with their one-year-old baby. Danielle Lacey, 22, and Brandon Lesli, 35, from Lake Stevens, Seattle were charged with endangerment with a controlled substance, criminal mistreatment and incest. They share the same mother. Police were called after witnesses spotted Lacey and Leslie sitting in the car with the baby and the windows rolled up. They told a local resident who they knew they were smoking meth. Daniel Price told Fox13: ‘They said they were out of gas and asked if they could borrow $10. I knew something was going on so I went inside and they told me they were smoking meth with the baby in the car. ‘If they want to go out and do that themselves, hopefully they don’t hurt anyone, but when you have a one-year-old involved that’s a lot different.’ When police arrived, Lacey was holding the baby in the front passenger seat. It was 38 degrees and the baby was only wearing a t-shirt and diaper. There was no blanket to keep him warm. Because the car was out of gas, the heater was not on. The police report said Lacey appeared to be high on methamphetamine because she exhibited sudden, jerky movements and the inability to concentrate. When she was interviewed by police, the 22-year-old admitted she had smoked meth with her baby present several times before and also with her other children, aged five and six. She said she has been using the drug on and off for the last six years. The baby has been handed over to Child Protective Services, and Lacey’s other children are in the care of her father. CPS said they had been in contact with Lacey once before but would not give any details. The couple are being held in Snohomish County Jail on $150,000 bail. According to Fox13, both Lacey and Leslie have criminal records which include assault, theft and possession of a controlled substance. Those poor kids…SMH. Images via facebook/tumblr
