If you’re the owner of a functional set of ears and/or eyes, then you’re probably aware that Beyonce has had quite the week. Bey’s performance at the Super Bowl halftime show has become one of the most talked about in years – and it ain’t because of Coldplay. But the big weekend for the Queen long before she hit the stage in Santa Clara, with the “Formation” music video becoming one of the most buzzed-about clips of her career. Fans of the song know that one of the most memorable lines contains a shout-out to Bey’s favorite seafood chain: “When he f–k me good, I take his ass to Red Lobster,” Mrs. Carter sings. We’re pretty sure Jay Z can afford his own surf-and-turf, but he probably appreciates the offer nonetheless. Of course, the folks who really benefited from the generous offer of Seaside Samplers in exchange for vigorous boning are the execs at Red Lobster. Even though the company rather lamely replied with a tweet reading, “‘Cheddar Bey Biscuits’ has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? #Formation,” it’s still reaping the benefits of what financial call “the Beyonce Bounce.” The restaurant chain reported a 33% increase in sales over the weekend, and they say it’s all thanks to Queen Bey. “It’s clear that Beyonce has helped create some Red Lobster fans, and we are very grateful to her for that,” CEO Kim Lodrup told CNBC today. Somewhere, McDonald’s chief of marketing is trying to convince Bey to include the line, “If you liked it, they you should’ve put an onion ring on it” in her next single. For members of the Beyhive who've been grinding their teeth like a coke fiend in anticipation of a new hit from their queen, the wait is finally over. That's right, Beyonce has just released a new music video for “Formation,” her first solo since 2014. The video features a cameo from Queen Bey's four-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, but the music and explicit lyrics are decidedly more hardcore than we typically see from 'Yonce. Set in New Orleans, the vid pays tribute to the Creole city, particularly its black culture, and features the Bootylicious singer in a variety of locales throughout its disparate neighborhoods. One scene features Bey on the hood of a partially-submerged police car in a re-creation of the floods that took place following Hurricane Katrina. The only oddity of this portrayal is how she croons about rocking her couture “Givenchy dress,” although most of the folks affected by Katrina were living in poverty. Not to worry, Beyonce still slays, as the lyrics point out repeatedly, and there's plenty of killer dance moves and thigh-baring bodysuits we have come to expect from the queen. Yonce Inspired Athleisure Collection Is Coming To A Topshop Near You Awhile back rumors swirled that Topshop would be collaborating with Queen Bey to bring her fans Yonce inspired ath-leisure wear. More recently, the queen made a statement about how excited she was to work with them on their new line called Parkwood Topshop. Not long after, we have the official date! According to the Huffington Post UK , the collection is set to drop around April 2016 so start saving! In this collab, you can expect fashionable, athletic wear composed of mostly leggings and leotards. Let’s just hope this isn’t a House Of Dereon pt 2!
Everything is the worst and Catherine is displeased. On November 18th, the Duchess of Cambridge made an emotional speech at the Place2Be Headteacher Conference about the importance of mental well-being in young people. Her Royal Highness touched on the love and support she received from her own parents and how that positively impacted her life (that would be the understatement of the century). “I know that I was lucky,” Catherine told the audience. “My parents and teachers provided me with a wonderful and secure childhood where I always knew I was loved, valued and listened to. “But of course many children are not so lucky. Since beginning my work in areas like addiction, for example, I have seen time and time again that the roots of poor mental health in adulthood are almost always present in unresolved childhood challenges.” Catherine is a patron of Place2Be , an organization that provides emotional and therapeutic services for young people. Some media outlets thought this the perfect opportunity to label Catherine a basket case, claiming that the speech was a “cry for help” as she continues to battle depression, anxiety and an eating disorder. And it’s all the royal family’s fault. “Prince William is desperate for Duchess Kate to ‘snap out of it,’ but the bouts of depression and anxiety appear to be increasing in frequency and severity,” Celebrity Dirty Laundry claims. “The Duke of Cambridge also fears the Duchess of Cambridge is battling anorexia.” Mmmk. Kate Middleton: Hacked! A LOT! “Kate’s constant fighting with Camilla Parker-Bowles hasn’t helped the situation. Prince Harry reportedly came to Kate Middleton’s rescue recently telling Parker-Bowles to back off and stop tormenting the Duchess. “This did not endear Prince Harry to Camilla Parker-Bowles and the two are now reportedly feuding.” So much feuding! How does one get anything done with all this feuding?! “Queen Elizabeth had given Carole Middleton a bit more access to Princess Kate which seemed to put both mother and daughter in better spirits. After finding out the manipulative Middleton matriarch was trying to freeze the Royal family out of Princess Charlotte’s first Christmas that was the end of that.” Manipulative Middleton matriarch. That’s what I’ll be next Halloween. “Queen Elizabeth reportedly is enforcing even tougher restrictions on how much contact Carole can have with Princess Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.” This is so dumb. The Windsors are made out to sound like as dysfunctional as that terrible E! show . BTW, the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip celebrated their 68th anniversary today. Congrats, you love birds. Catherine wore Reiss’ “Angel” coat for a visit to Caernarfon with her Kiki McDonough Eternal 18k Gold Citrine Pear-Drop Earrings ($740). She and William used to live in Anglesey, Wales when they were first married, so today’s trip was especially significant. Today in London, the royal family gathered to honor fallen soldiers during “Remembrance Sunday,” which takes place on the second Sunday of every November. Queen Elizabeth II led the tribute at the Cenotaph, an “empty tomb” to honor those whose remains did not make it home from battle. This year, Her Majesty was joined by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the British liberation of Holland. While Her Majesty, Prince Harry and Prince William laid poppy wreaths at the memorial, the Duchess of Cambridge watched from the balcony of government building Whitehall, alongside Maxima and the Countess of Wessex , who is married to the Queen’s youngest son, Prince Edward. Catherine wore a custom-made Alexander McQueen coat for the ceremony, according to What Kate Wore , along with pearl-drop earrings from jeweler Annoushka and a hat with delicate black netting. Remembrance Sunday is a pretty remarkable event; two minutes of silence are observed, the “Last Post” is played, and veterans march by the Cenotaph to remember those lost in battle. Last night, William and Catherine (wearing a lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana) joined the Queen at the Royal Albert Hall for the annual Festival of Remembrance, also put on to honor veterans, which featured performances by Rod Stewart and Andrea Bocelli .
