Tina Turner’s Oldest Son Commits Suicide

Terrible news today out of the music world: Tina Turner’s oldest son, Craig, was found dead at his home in Studio City, California at 12:58 p.m. this afternoon. He was 59 years old. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has confirmed this tragedy, telling multiple outlets that Craig was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities reportedly arrived at his residence just after noon and pronounced him dead just a short while later, at the scene. The aforementioned spokesperson told the press that a 911 call was placed, although it’s unclear just who made the call. Says the spokesperson in a little more detail: “The call was reported as a suicide, gun shot wound. The next of kin has been notified. There will be an autopsy done and there is an investigator at the scene.” Craig was born when Tina was 18 years old, prior to her up-and-down marriage Ike Turner. Once Tina and Ike were husband and wife, however, Ike adopted four-year old Craig. (His biological father was a saxophonist named Raymond Hill, who performed with Ike’s band.) This awful piece of news of comes as the legendary artist is making a rare trip outside her new home country of Switzerland to attend Paris Fashion Week events. Craig Turner worked in the real estate business in the San Fernando Valley. His mother is, simply put, one of the most successful and respected solo singers in history. She counts “What’s Love Got to Do With it” and “Proud Mary” among her best-known singles. Tina also starred in such movies as Mad Max: Thunderdome and Last Action Hero. Craig’s suicide, meanwhile, follows a sad rash of similar events around the entertainment world. Over the past few weeks alone, iconic fashiond designer Kate Spade has committed suicide, while beloved chef and author Anthony Bourdain has done the same. Both these stars took their own lives via hanging. Spade was 56 years old and Bourdain was 61. May they rest in peace and may Craig Turner rest in peace. Matt Cappotelli, Former WWE Tough Enough Winner, Dead at 38

Matt Cappotelli, the winner of WWE’s Tough Enough Season 3, lost his brave battle with cancer on Friday morning, He was 38 years old. This sad piece of news was confirmed a couple hours ago by Cappotelli’s wife, Lindsay, who wrote in a statement: “Today my love-my strong, sweet, beautiful love-took his last breath at 3:30 a.m. and went Home to be with Jesus exactly one year after his brain surgery. “You think you can be prepared for this when you know it’s coming, but you just can’t. “The only person who’s comfort I want right now is the one who can’t give it to me. I miss him so much. I know where he is now is so much better, but it doesn’t change how much I miss him.” Cappotelli underwent a second surgery to remove a brain tumor about a year ago, in June of 2017. This procedure took place a decade after he had another one removed and, as a result, was forced to cut his professional wrestling career short. Tragically, though, this surgery did not solve the health problem. In December, Cappotelli was told he had a Grade 4 tumor that was too close to his brain to operate. He knew his days were numbered after this diagnosis. Tough Enough, meanwhile, was a reality-type show that the WWE owned and operated. It pitted a number of aspiring grapplers against each other, with the winner each season earning a WWE contract and a shot at true stardom. Think American Idol, but for the wrestling world. After winning Season 3, Cappotelli made multiple appearances on Monday Night Raw and went on work with developing talent in Ohio Valley Wrestling. However, the Louislve resident retired professionally as a wrestler in 2007 due to these health concerns. In response to his passing, numerous WWE stars and others who knew Matt well paid him tribute on Twitter. WWE star Kassius Ohno wrote: “Crushed to hear about the passing of Matt Cappotelli. He was talented, passionate & possessed a heart of GOLD. “Everyone should fight as hard as Matt fought. Condolences to his friends, family & the countless others he touched on his journey. Rest In Peace Capp.” And then there was this from Bill DeMott: “I’m heart broken with the news of the passing of Matt Cappotelli. He is an inspiring young man that touched so many with his smile, his heart, and his faith. “My love and prayers go out to Matts wife Lindsay and the family. #TeamCapp #RIPMAtt.” Cappotelli’s passing comes just about a week after WWE legend Vader also passed away . Prince Jackson Pens Moving Tribute to Late Grandfather Joe Jackson

This week, Joe Jackson passed away after a battle with cancer. The man was American Royalty and created a multi-generational dynasty. Paris Jackson posted a heartfelt farewell message to her late grandfather, speaking of her cherished memories of him. And her brother, Prince Jackson, is doing the same. Take a look: Prince shared an image of him with his grandfather. In his captions, he wrote a tribute to his dearly departed loved one. “This man is and always will be an example of sheer willpower and dedication,” Prince begins. That is indisputable, even to Joe’s critics. Prince continues, writing: “He didn’t choose the path that was the easiest.” That’s true. Prince acknowledges that it was a lot of work, “but he choose the path that was best for his family.” Prince then addresses his late grandfather directly. “You taught me to take pride in the Jackson name,” Prince writes. “And what it really means.” It’s a big deal. Prince continues, saying: “You taught me dedication in the face of adversity.” There will always be people who want to tear down the Jackson family. That’s sad. “And most of all,” Prince writes. “You showed me strength and fearlessness.” Prince continues his moving message honoring his late grandfather. “There is and never will be someone like you,” Prince says. Some people really are one-of-a-kind. “Fly free,” Prince instructs him. Then he ends his message. “Until we meet again,” Prince says, adding his grandfather’s nickname: “The Hawk.” Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a close and loving relationship with their grandparents. Some people live too far away from them for it to be economically viable for them to spend much time with them. Some truly unlucky soles have awful grandparents whose parents wisely have little to do with them. Others tragically lose their grandparents in early childhood. To know and love your grandparents as Prince and his siblings have isn’t just a joy — it’s a real privilege. And, let’s be honest: few grandparents can leave such a powerful and lucrative legacy as Joe has left for the Jackson Dynasty. Joe Jackson was no doubt a complicated man in life, and his battle with cancer and his death does not change that. But it is certainly every grandchild’s right to mourn the grandparent they knew and loved in peace. Paris, Prince, and all of their siblings and cousins should be allowed to mourn and grieve without people harassing them directly about their grandfather’s life. There are, unfortunately, still people who try to provoke a response by bringing up allegations against Michael Jackson to his children. They’re the children of this family. Let them have their peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam
