Canadian Farming Family Mourns Deaths Of Three Daughters Killed By Canola Seeds This is so sad. Via NY Daily News reports : A Canadian farming family is in mourning after three of their little girls were killed after being buried alive in a truckload of canola seeds. The incredible tragedy claimed the lives of 13-year-old Catie Bott and her twin sisters, Dara and Jana, 11, at their Alberta home on Tuesday, the Calgary Sun reported . Family members and neighbors managed to free the girls and perform CPR. Two of the girls could not be immediately saved while the third was flown to a children’s hospital where she died from her injuries on Wednesday afternoon. “Our kids died living life on the farm, it is a family farm. We do not regret raising and involving our kids Catie, age 13 — Dara, age 11, and Jana, age 11 on our farm. It was our life! (sic)” the children’s heartbroken parents said in a statement. “Thank you for all of the overwhelming support we have received from the first responders, neighbors and friends. We would ask the media to respect our privacy at this time of grief.” Farm life is no joke. How did they end up in the canola seeds in the first place? The couple also has a son. Facebook

Husband In Texas Shoots Wife Dead After Mistaking Her For An Intruder Around 4:15 AM on Saturday morning, a man was awaken out of his sleep in a panic. He told police he heard noises coming from inside his home and grabbed his gun in fear that he and his wife’s home was being invaded. After reportedly seeing a light and a shadowy figure in the distance, the man fired a shot which hit it’s mark and dropped the target. Upon further review, the person who was struck with the fatal bullet was actually the man’s wife, 48-year-old Debora Kelly. Mrs. Kelly had been shot one time directly in the chest and was killed instantly. There have been many stories like this in the past where a husband or wife kills the other under the pretense of “I thought he/she was a burglar”, so the police have questioned the unnamed man extensively for any sign that he’s attempting to get away with murder. A neighbor, Dale Hollrah, contends that the Kelly’s were a happy couple with no sign of discord when he spoke to KSAT : “(I’m) just totally shocked. They have been married several years and seemed to be doing just fine,” Hollrah said. Hollrah said the husband owns a contracting company and did some work on his house a few years ago. He said they got along very well. “I would walk over see him outside, walk over and talk with him, just normal neighbors,” he said. That’s why Hollrah said he believes the whole thing was a terrible accident. “At this point I say yes,” he said. “She travels. She’s in the medical world and I’ve talked to her recently.” We’re not saying that Mrs. Kelly was definitely a victim of a cold-blooded murder, but this Hollrah guy is pretty naive if he thinks that just because he had some cordial convos with the Mr. that there is no way that he could have killed his wife. Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford Welcome First Child!

E! News reported moments ago that Carey Mulligan and Mumford and Sons lead singer Marcus Mumford have welcomed their first child! Mulligan and Mumford married in 2012. They were childhood pen pals who lost touch with one another but reconnected as adults.  The actress managed to keep her baby bump under wraps for the first half of pregnancy, and the couple didn’t reveal that Mulligan was pregnant until June of this year. There’s no word yet on the child’s gender or name, but considering the quirky couple is basically a walking Wes Anderson movie, you can bet Baby Mumford’s moniker will be off the beaten path. Our money’s on Thadeus. “Carey has given birth to a healthy and happy baby,” reads a statement from Carey’s reps. “She is just enjoying this time with her family and close friends.” The couple is so intensely private that the press didn’t even realize that Mulligan had given birth until she made a red carpet appearance to promote her new film Suffragette last night. Clearly, Carey isn’t planning on taking much time off from work. Then again, who knows with these two? They might both step away from the spotlight to open a family-run boutique that only sells tea cozies. Mulligan and Mumford would be a perfect name. Lance Bass Reveals "Pedophile" Molested N SYNC Members

Lance Bass appeared on Meredith Viera’s talk show today and revealed that he and other members of ‘N SYNC were inappropriately touched by an older man when they were still in their teens. The panel was discussing Ashley Judd’s claim that she was sexually harassed by Harvey Weinstein when Bass opened up and revealed that he’d suffered similar abuse: Lance Bass Opens Up About Sexual Harassment “This also happens to men, too,” he said. “It has happened to me. When I was 16, 17 years old, and we started, there was someone that we worked with that was inappropriately touching us. “I was even aware then, at 16, that this guy was a pedophile. He was touching me oddly.” Bass added that he and the other members of the band  – which included pop mega-star Justin Timberlake – would cope with the harassment by talking about the incidents of abuse with one another. “With the guys we would kind of talk about it, joke about, but it’s not a joking thing…I’m glad that we were aware of it and we didn’t feel victimized at the time,” Bass said. Many in the media have speculated that the man responsible for the abuse is disgraced ‘N SYNC manager Lou Pearlman . Though Bass didn’t mention Pearlman by name today, the 61-year-old boy band impresario has been accused of child molestation in the past.  Pearlman is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence on unrelated charges. Awesome Parents Dress Son as Elsa for Halloween

Remember that supportive father who proudly bought his son a Barbie doll ? Paul Henson and Ashley Ramage have now gone one impressive step further. The parents of three-year old Caiden shared a picture on Facebook this week of their son’s Halloween costume, surprising friends and family members with the reveal that Caiden will be trick-or-treating as Elsa from Frozen. Yes, Elsa is a girl. Yes, Caiden is a boy. Got a problem with that?!? The toddler’s parents do not. “It’s important for children to know that their parents will stand by them no matter what,” Paul explains to The Huffington Post. “Ashley and I will do whatever it takes to keep our son happy and not take his innocence and imagination from him.” Amen, Ramage basically says, adding that parents should never  stifle the growth or development of their kids via gender-based thinking. “I want other parents to realize that gender stereotypes are taught and learned behaviors,” she says. “At three years old, kids are still developing, exploring and discovering. As parents we shouldn’t discourage their individuality.” What do you think, readers? Is this progressing parenting that has gone too far? Or progressive parenting that ought to be applauded?

Caitlyn Jenner: On Drugs at Time of Fatal Car Crash?!

Back in February, Caitlyn Jenner was involved in a car accident that left seven injured and claimed the life of a 69-year-old woman named Kim Howe. After a lengthy investigation, it was determined that Jenner would not face charges for the accident, even though footage from the accident reveals that he was at least partially to blame for multi-car pile-up, and may have been driving negligently. Of course, just because Caitlyn was cleared of criminal charges, that doesn’t mean she won’t wind up in court. Howe’s family plans to sue Jenner for wrongful death , and they’re leveling some serious accusations at the 65-year-old reality star. According to TMZ, Howe’s stepchildren are now claiming that Caitlyn was on drugs at the time of the accident.  Police tested Jenner after the crash and determined that she was not impaired. However, Howe’s family claims that new information has come to light, and they now have reason to believe that Jenner was under the influence of prescription drugs that impaired his ability to drive. Jenner has repeatedly refused to discuss the matter publicly, but he has stated in the past that he doesn’t use recreational drugs of any kind. Kevin Corcoran Dies; Old Yeller Actor and Sons of Anarchy Producer Was 66

Kevin Corcoran – a popular child star of the ’50s and ’60s who went on to work as a producer on popular television series such as Sons of Anarchy – has passed away at the age of 66. Corcoran’s niece confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly this afternoon. No cause of death was given. Corcoran got his start as a regular in Disney movies and TV shows when he was just 7 years old. He would go on to appear in dozens of projects, usually playing some variation of a character named “Moochie” – a nickname which Corcoran’s family and friends would affectionately use throughout his life. He gave his best known performances in the enduring 1957 tearjerker Old Yeller and its 1963 sequel, Savage Sam. Corcoran parted ways with Disney to attend college, but returned to Hollywood (and to the studio that made him famous) as an assistant director and producer. His second career found him working on such beloved television series as Murder, She Wrote; The Shield, and Sons of Anarchy. Corcoran was added to the exclusive list of “Disney Legends” in 2006. Man Dies In Car Crash Just Minutes After His Girlfriend Broke Up With Him Would you die for love? A British man died when his car hit a tree just minutes after his ex-girlfriend broke up with him. Via NY Daily Mail : Ben Blakey, 27, had driven 100 miles in a last-ditch bid to get back together with sweetheart Sheona Ryan. But when she told him there was no hope of rebuilding their relationship, he sped off and ploughed into a tree, an inquest heard. Blakey was described as being in an “agitated state” when drove off before hitting a traffic sign, performing a U-turn and accelerating down the road. A CCTV camera captured the moment his Volkswagen Polo inexplicably veered to the right, mounting a grass verge before smashing into the tree about 4:30 a.m. on May 16. The 27-year-old was taken to hospital but later died from head injuries, reported Mirror Online. A coroner said she did not believe Blakey, who was described by his family as “an inspiration,” meant to take his own life. “I am satisfied that he drove off in an emotional state and directed the car towards the tree,” Coroner Dianne Hocking said. “But I am not satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that he intended suicide as he appeared to have changed his mind at the last moment.” The hearing was told his car’s brake lights had come on indicating that he did brake. The car was traveling at 42 mph at the time of impact. His aunt Mary Jeffers said Blakey made a good impression on all who met him and had left a huge hole in people’s lives “that cannot be filled.” So sad!

So Sad: Two Houston High School Students Killed In School Bus Crash

Houston Students Killed In Bus Crash Two Houston families are in mourning after their children were killed when a bus plunged from Loop 610. In addition to the two fatalities, authorities report that two other students were injured when bus driver Luisia Pacheo”overcorrected” her steering to avoid a car. The Houston Chronicle reports: Two students died and two others were hurt along with their bus driver Tuesday morning when a collision caused a school bus to plunge from Loop 610 in southeast Houston, officials said. The bus landed on the eastbound frontage road of the South Loop near Telephone Road about 7 a.m., Houston police said. The dead students were identified as a 14-year-old Furr High School freshman Janiecia Chatman and Mariya Johnson, a 17-year-old student at REACH charter school, a dropout recovery school on the Furr campus. The freshman died at a hospital and the older student at the scene. The other two students, both who attend REACH, had serious injuries, officials said. An HISD official identified one of the injured students as Lakeshia Williams; the other was her twin brother, Brandon. The bus driver was identified as Luisa Pacheco, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital. She had non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. As police continue their investigation, Houston Police Department spokesman Victor Senties said the driver of a Buick LaSabre told investigators she thought another vehicle near her was drifting into her lane. She veered away and hit the side of the bus. Pacheco apparently over-corrected and the bus careened from the overpass, Senties added. So sad, condolences to those families.
