He was the most humble and gifted actor and person I have ever worked with.” He adds, “He was a great man and I will forever be indebted to him. “ James Gandolfini — who famously played Tony Soprano on “The Sopranos” — died earlier today in Italy … TMZ has learned. Gandolfini is believed to have suffered a heart attack. He was 51. Gandolfini was in Italy to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily — and he was scheduled to participate in a festival event this weekend with Italian director Gabriele Muccino. Gandolfini shot to fame playing a hitman in the 1993 hit “True Romance” … and quickly became a Hollywood legend when he was cast as Tony Soprano in 1999. He won 3 Emmy awards for the role during the show’s 6 season run. Gandolfini also appeared in a ton of huge movies including “Get Shorty,” “The Mexican” and “Zero Dark Thirty.” We last spoke to Gandolfini in May in L.A. — he was in great spirits, making funny faces and joking about a “Sopranos” movie. SMH Florida Man Faces Murder Charges For Strangling And Throwing Ex-Wife Off Cruise Ship Via AJC A California grand jury has indicted a Florida man on charges he strangled his ex-wife and tossed her off a cruise ship in Italy. Lonnie Kocontes, 55, who used to live in Southern California, was indicted by an Orange County grand jury on Friday and did not enter a plea during his Superior Court arraignment Monday, the Orange County Register ( http://bit.ly/1bP1wIl ) reported. Kocontes remained jailed Tuesday. He is charged with murder for financial gain, which carries a potential death penalty and a minimum sentence of life in prison without chance of parole. Kocontes will try to have the case dismissed at a June 26 hearing, arguing that local authorities lack jurisdiction to prosecute. He and Micki Kanesaki, 52, divorced in 2001 after six years of marriage but continued to live together, off and on, in southern Orange County. They were sharing a cabin during a May 2006 Mediterranean cruise when she went overboard. Her body later washed ashore. Italian police investigated but did not arrest Kocontes. Another investigation began in 2008 after Kocontes began transferring more than $1 million from Kanesaki’s bank accounts into joint accounts he held with his new wife, authorities said. He was arrested in February and pleaded not guilty to murder in May, but the case was dismissed. Prosecutors then moved to refile the charges, and another judge ruled that they could proceed. Brother Kills Sister With Wrestling Moves According to Mail Online A 13-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly using wrestling moves he had seen on television on his five-year-old half sister, who died from the brutal beating. Viloude Louis suffered broken ribs, internal bleeding and a lacerated liver after Devalon Armstrong repeatedly slammed her on a bed, punched her in the stomach, jumped on her and struck her with his elbow several times, police said. Deputies say they received a 911 call from the home in Terrytown, Louisiana on Sunday afternoon saying the girl had been found unconscious on the bathroom floor. Paramedics found the girl unresponsive and she was pronounced dead a short time later. Armstrong was arrested on Tuesday after a coroner investigation found the girl died of multiple injuries, two days after the death, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s spokesman Col. John Fortunato said. Detectives initially spoke with the girl’s mother, Adlourdes Desvallons, 39, and found out that the teenager had been babysitting while she went to the store, Fortunato told The Times-Picayune. Devalon told investigators the girl had a stomach ache and went upstairs to brush her teeth, and 30 minutes later he found her on the floor complaining her stomach still hurt, Fortunato said. The teenager claimed he took the girl downstairs to the sofa and called 911 when he saw she was no longer breathing. Dispatchers told him to start CPR and paramedics arrived on the scene. The coroner’s office said there did not appear to be any outward signs of injury and her death was left as unclassified, but on Monday, Devalon told detectives he had been practicing World Wrestling Entertainment-style moves on the girl, The Times-Picayune reported. He said that even when his little half sister said she was in pain, he continued to carry out the moves on her. Detectives added that he appeared to be enjoying talking about the assault. The Sheriff’s office has now classified her death as a homicide and Devalon was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and is being held at a juvenile detention center. She lost her husband and two kids in a 1974 plane crash, while another child died in a separate incident, leaving her survived by her remaining eight kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In February of last year, Stephen Colbert took a few days leave of absence to deal with an ill Lorna, only to return and give her a subtle shout-out in his first new show back: “Evidently, having 11 children makes you tough as nails,” he said. “Confidential to a lovely lady.” We send the Colbert family our thoughts and prayers.

According to Mail Online Police have launched an investigation after a woman died receiving butt-enhancement injections from a man who claimed to be a doctor from Venezuela. Suyima Torres, 28, died in April, and police are treating it as manslaughter connected to the unlicensed practice of medicine. Suyima reportedly visited Cuerpos Health and Aesthetics for a $1,500 procedure in which an oily yellow substance was injected into each of her butt cheeks, according to court documents. A few weeks later she had another round of injections and felt dizzy right after. She died ten hours later. She paid $2,300 in total cash for the injections. Though her cause of death has not been determined, police are treating it as a homicide. No charges have been filed but authorities still have few details for family members and a suspect believed to have left the country. Ruth Planas, the owner of Cuerpos Health and Aesthetics LLC, is refusing to provide any information on the ‘Venezuelan Doctor’. Torres’ mother, Coralia Espinosa, told NBCMiami her daughter was rushed to the hospital accompanied by Ruth Planas after the second procedure. But she never told the doctors about the procedure. ‘Maybe if that woman would’ve told them early my daughter would still be here,’ she told NBCMiami. The business appears to be closed, locked down and packages are being left on the doorstep. Torres’ death happened just 16 days after 20-year-old Dailen Garcia says she received buttocks injections at the same center and then suffered vision problems and bleeding of the lungs. She was hospitalized in an intensive care unit, NBC Miami reports. Shatarka Nuby, a 31-year-old mother, was the first of Morris’ patients to die from the procedures. Nuby told friends the injection sites became hard and hot and that her skin turned black. Morris, 32, was already facing multiple charges in Broward County, Florida, after other patients reported getting sick after she pumped them with an unhealthy concoction of chemicals as part of a black market plastic surgery business that she allegedly performed in hotels and in patients’ homes. His mother and family sat in the audience waiting for him to walk across the stage, only to be informed of the fatal crash shortly afterwards. via Techyville A mother’s worst nightmare came into fruition as she sat in the audience of her 17 year old son’s graduation only to be pulled away from the ceremony to hear devastating news. Her two sons, 17 year old Deonta and 24 year old Anthony had been in a fatal car accident on their way to the ceremony. Sandra Williams McGlone, and a host of other family members, were waiting to see her son Deonta Whitaker walk across the stage at his Bertie High School graduation to get his diploma, but instead she was told of the tragedy. “I just can’t describe it. It’s unbelievable. It’s like it’s a dream that I want to wake up from,” said Williams-McGlone. Highway Patrol troopers said that the older brother Anthony was driving the younger brother Deonta to the high school graduation ceremony when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into trees on the road they were traveling. It is suspected that both young men died on impact. The mother, Williams-McGlone stated that Deonta was headed to Elizabeth City State University and he was a scholar.
