Why Isn’t Justin Bieber In Far East Movement Video?

‘He’s behind the camera,’ the group jokes to MTV News about Biebs’ absence from ‘Live My Life’ clip. By Jocelyn Vena Far East Movement Photo: MTV News Justin Bieber proclaims that he just wants to “Live My Life” on the hook for Far East Movement’s latest track. The Dirty Bass single is a feel-good, fist-pumping anthem about, well, living your life. The dance-music-making crew opened up to MTV News about hooking up with the “Boyfriend” singer and bringing him into their world of dirty beats and even dirtier bass. “We got to thank him for being in our world for us,” Kevin Nishimura said about the experience of hitting the studio with Bieber. “When we met with him, [it was like] ‘Let’s do a song that caters to that audience that’s outside the Far East Movement shows going, “We can’t get in, but we live that life.” ‘ And there’s that audience that’s in the club popping the bottles, doing that thing, living that.” Finding that perfect balance and hooking up with the hitmaking teen wasn’t hard since the guys of Far East Movement are all about music encompassing everything and everyone. In their world, there are no restrictions. “We’re always about all-inclusiveness, no matter your race, your sex, whatever it be,” they said. “That’s the type of music we make. So with Justin, it was definitely unexpected as far as both audiences, but it makes sense.” When the guys dropped the party-themed clip for the track, which also features LMFAO, Bieber was noticeably absent from the clip. It follows both Far East Movement and LMFAO as they make their way through a European city, dancing through the streets and riding on an animal-print, double-decker bus. “Just for the record — ’cause we’ve been seeing people like, ‘Where is he in the video?’ — he’s behind the camera,” Nishimura joked. “We sent him one of those party-favor cards saying, ‘You are invited to the Far East Movement/Justin Bieber video shoot,’ but he was working on his thing, you know. He’s got a new single out, his album, so he couldn’t make it. But he said, ‘No matter what, I’m gonna party tonight.’ So it’s all love.” RedOne produced the song. Dirty Bass drops May 8. Louisiana Primary Results: Rick Santorum in Rout

Rick Santorum posted another convincing win in yesterday’s Louisiana’s GOP primary, but still faces doubts over whether he can broaden his appeal to win the race. The Republican presidential candidate said the race was far from over, recalling the naysayers who said Ronald Reagan was too conservative to win the nomination. But the road ahead is difficult for Santorum, who’s slogging it out a game of numbers to clinch the 1,144 delegates needed to clinch the party’s nomination. Santorum will win at least eight of the 20 delegates up for grabs, according to CNN. Going into Louisiana, Mitt Romney had 563 delegates to Santorum’s 251. At this point, it is very unlikely that Santorum, Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul can overtake Romney, with their only chance being to keep him from hitting 1,144. If that were to occur, the nominee could be decided at an open convention when party officials convene this summer, but it remains a long shot at best now. The candidates get a few days of breathing space before the next round of primaries on April 3 when Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia vote. Louisiana Republican primary results: Rick Santorum 91,305 (49%) Mitt Romney 49,749 (27%) Newt Gingrich 29,655 (16%) Ron Paul 11,460 (6%)

GTFOH: Bill Lee, Sanford’s “Wankster Azz” Police Chief Steps Down… Temporarily!

SMH @ this buster … makes us wanna say Fawk the Police! Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee, under fire for his handling of the investigation into the killing of unarmed Miami Gardens teenager Trayvon Martin, temporarily removed himself from office Thursday, a day after city commissioners gave him a vote of no confidence. Lee, stressing his credentials as a former homicide investigator, said that he stands by the police department and the investigation. “I am aware my role as leader of this department has become a distraction from the investigation,” Lee said, adding that “temporarily removing” himself from the role would restore a “semblance of calm to the city which has been in turmoil for several weeks.” Two captains will head the department until an interim chief can be found, according to City Manager Norton Bonaparte Jr. The city manager did not specify whether Lee would continue to be paid his $102,000 salary, or when he would return to his job as police chief. Lee was on the job for just 10 months. He joined the department after a 27-year career at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office with a mission to clean up a department marked by internal turmoil and race-related scandals. But the national pressure over a perceived bungling of the investigation was ultimately too much for city officials, who are bracing for a thousands-strong rally Thursday night, and another one at their meeting Monday. Suspended from Michael Krop Senior High School in Miami-Dade, Trayvon, 17, went to Sanford with his father to visit the father’s girlfriend. The family won’t say why the teen was suspended, but said the trip to Central Florida was in part designed so the father and son could spend time together getting Trayvon focused. Trayvon left the house on the evening of Feb. 26 to walk to a nearby store. On his way back, neighborhood watch volunteer Zimmerman thought he looked suspicious and called police. It’s unclear what happened next, but Trayvon was killed and the shooter never charged. He said the boy jumped him, and later claimed self defense in the killing. Lee was hammered for his handling of the controversial case, which experts say was marred with irregularities. He gave incorrect information to reporters, and the family felt he and the department were more interested in offering excuses for shooter George Zimmerman than making an arrest. The relationship between the boy’s family and police deteriorated from the start. Trayvon’s family believed the police department deliberately covered up Zimmerman’s past arrest record, portraying him as having a clean record because he had no convictions. The family had to file a lawsuit for the release of 911 tapes, but they felt the department was often willing to release information that was favorable to Zimmerman. As evidence that the incident was not a case of racial profiling, Lee told The Miami Herald that when the police dispatch operator asked Zimmerman the race of the suspicious person he saw, the Hispanic neighborhood watch captain did not know. Yet when the recording of that conversation was made public, Zimmerman clearly says, “he looks black.” Initial police reports never mentioned that Zimmerman had a bloody nose or a wet shirt that showed evidence of a struggle. Attorneys for the dead teen’s family believe the information was added in a second report to justify the lack of an arrest. Police said witness statements supported Zimmerman’s account. But several of the witnesses expressed surprise, telling The Miami Herald that they reported hearing someone crying for help just before a shot ended the cries. The 911 tapes of witness calls bolstered their claims. One of the witnesses who heard the crying said she called a detective repeatedly, but said he was not interested because her account differed from Zimmerman’s. For nearly a month, police never noticed a profanity Zimmerman mumbled under his breath when he called police, which some people believe was accompanied by a muffled racial slur. Even though investigators have the dead boy’s cellphone, it was Trayvon’s father who combed through the phone records to discover that his son was talking to a girlfriend in the moments that led to his death. As national outrage grew, protests were held Wednesday from Miami to New York. The Rev. Al Sharpton is expected Thursday in Sanford, for a vigil that promises to draw thousands of participants. More than 1,000 students at Carol City High School walked out Thursday in a Twitter-generated march that quickly spread to Miami Northwestern High. In an interview with The Miami Herald last week, Lee insisted that the investigation was thorough, fair and unbiased. “We are basing our investigation based on facts and circumstances not the color of the individual’s skin,” he said. “I can say that till I am blue in the face. As a white man in a uniform, I know that doesn’t mean anything to anybody, but that is the truth.” Dude is a LIAR. Plain and simple. He doesn’t deserve the job or the uniform. Zimmerman should be behind bars right now. Source More On Bossip! Let’s Be Honest: Rihanna Gets Kushed Up And Hollers At A Shawty On Twitter What The Fluctuation PT 1? Rupert Sanders On Dark Snow White and the Huntsman, ‘Twilight Girl’ Kristen Stewart, and Tarsem’s Mirror, Mirror

It may be indicative of Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders’ fearlessness – or his newness, this being his feature debut – that, after presenting much-anticipated footage to fans yesterday at WonderCon, he nonchalantly dropped the vivid phrase “dwarf gangbangs” into a discussion about his dark (and yes, likely PG-13) allegorical fairytale actioner. (Now that’s how you get the attention of a certain demographic.) For the record, there are no such scenarios in June’s action-packed SWATH , but there were many more revelations and key insights to be had into Sanders’ take on the age-old tale, which stars Twilight ’s Kristen Stewart and debuts two months after that other Snow White movie dances into theaters. Sanders spoke with journalists Saturday at WonderCon, where Stewart made a surprise appearance at the SWATH panel. Herewith, find a Movieline 9 rundown of highlights from his wide-ranging thoughts on ths film, its dark elements, Stewart’s non- Twilight career, Tarsem’s Mirror, Mirror , and more. ON MAKING HIS FEATURE DEBUT WITH A BIG-BUDGET STUDIO TENTPOLE “I couldn’t get a small film, ironically,”said Sanders, who made his name directing shorts and commercials, most notably for Halo 3 . “It’s much harder to get a small film off the ground than it is to get a big film off the ground, but the high stakes gamble on the roulette table is that if it doesn’t fall on your color you’re in a small prison in Burbank for the rest of your moviemaking days. Hopefully, that won’t happen.” His first experience in a studio feature gig was, he says, surprisingly hands-off. “It was a high stakes risk both for myself and for the studio, who very kindly wrote a very large check to get it done, and they weren’t there whipping me into line which was great. I was really expecting to be shuttered in but they trusted what we were doing and they let us go, which is all you can really ask for on a shoot with a studio.” As for the once-in-progress big screen adaptation of Halo , which stalled a few years back? “No one called me!” SANDERS HAS NEVER SEEN TWILIGHT The director was impressed with Stewart on the strengths of her other films, dating back to Panic Room , and says it’s her other work that will help her eventually overcome audience’s dominant association of her with Twilight . “I saw her first in Panic Room and I saw her again in Into the Wild ,” he recalled. “I loved her in The Runaways , I loved her in Welcome to the Rileys . I think she’s going to be incredible in On the Road . “She’s a great actor and people just go ‘ Twilight girl, Twilight girl,’ which is testament to her. She’s kept this interesting pipeline of projects going on the side so she’s not just going to be that girl forevermore. She’s a great actor and she’s made incredibly shrewd decisions for someone who’s half my age. I’d never seen the Twilight s so I didn’t really care that much. I met her, I really got on with her, she’s a great actor, she was right for the character. That’s it. It’s as simple as that for me.” ON KRISTEN STEWART VS. BELLA SWAN Sanders knows his film and his star will be fighting to counteract the specter of Twilight . “I think what I realized is that she’s such a good actor that everyone thinks she’s Bella Swan. They believe that that’s her, and obviously an actor is playing a role – she is nothing like Bella.” “She was there as I was writing stuff, we would have conversations seeing through her eyes, we really worked hard on developing that character together and I was just amazed at her talent. She’s incredibly good at her craft. She’s incredibly instinctive, she’s incredibly intuitive. She will overcome fear like no one I’ve met when it comes to it. She didn’t really want to ride a horse – she had a bad horse-riding accident as a kid – when you’re riding fast on a horse with 200 other soldiers on horses riding behind you, through surf on a beach… that’s terrifying.” THE PREVAILING DARKNESS OF SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN , OR: EVERYBODY HURTS What Sanders believes grounds his fantasy fairytale is that all of his characters share a common tragic element — even Charlize Theron ‘s evil queen. “This queen took over a kingdom, she’s someone who’s suffered a lot of loss,” he explained. “She lost a family, she lost a tribe. She found her way into this kingdom like a Trojan horse, she moves from kingdom to kingdom hollowing them out from the inside, like a siren who attracts people to her beauty.” That sense of loss trickles down through SWATH , affecting every character’s journey. “The dwarfs lost everything; they were down in the mines, they’re noble gold miners who see light in the darkness and that’s why they were always the gold miners. When they came up from the mines the world was black and then they lost all the other people in their race. The Huntsman lost a wife. Snow White lost a kingdom, she lost both her parents and she lost the love of the people. So everyone’s dealing with loss in very different ways.”

Oscars 2012: Last Year’s Awards-Night Headlines

Billy Crystal’s return as host foreshadowed at 2011 Academy Awards. By Kevin P. Sullivan Billy Crystal at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images It certainly doesn’t feel like it’s been that long, but it was a year ago that “The King’s Speech” won top honors at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards . As we head into the 2012 Oscars on Sunday, it’s an appropriate time to look back on last year’s winners that surprised, moments that shocked and snubs we’re still not quite over yet. Anne and James In an attempt to appeal to a younger demographic, the Academy enlisted the help of Anne Hathaway and James Franco and “youth-oriented” segments including an Auto-Tuning of some of the year’s biggest movies. The result was a confusing three hours of underwhelming laughs and jokes that fell mostly flat. Afterward, blame flew both ways, but it seems unlikely that either will host again. Kirk Douglas, Show Stealer Leave it to a 94-year-old to show all the kids how it’s done. With more energy than the two hosts combined, Douglas won over the audiences in the Kodak Theatre and at home, overtly hitting on Hathaway and making sweeping generalizations about Australians and Brits. The King’s Night Despite hanging in second behind “The Social Network” for most of the awards-season love leading up to the Oscars, “The King’s Speech” came from behind to win three of the top categories: Best Picture, Actor and Director. Colin Firth locked up his award months in advance by sweeping the earlier ceremonies, but the race for picture and director came down to Oscar night, ending with Tom Hooper’s controversial win over David Fincher. The Dark Knight Rises His victory for Best Supporting Actor might not have come as a surprise, but Christian Bale’s tough-guy image was nowhere to be found. The actor sincerely thanked his wife and daughter after accepting the prize for “The Fighter.” Not only was he happy, but he even made fun of himself and his previous bouts with bad language. Billy Crystal’s Standing Ovation In the evening’s most-apparent act of foreshadowing, Billy Crystal took the stage to honor former Oscar host Bob Hope, and the audience welcomed him with a standing ovation. It wasn’t long after that talk of bringing Crystal back to host started, setting up the Oscar night we’re now anticipating. The MTV Movies team has the 2012 Oscars covered!
