Radcliffe Haughton, a troubled Wisconsin man, barged into a Wisconsin spa and allegedly shot seven women, killing three, before taking his own life. His estranged wife, Zina Haughton, was among those fatally wounded. Zina Haughton died after husband Radcliffe Haughton opened fire at the Azana Salon & Spa in Brookfield, Wis., Sunday, a source close to the investigation said. Police have yet to confirm the identities of the other women killed. This was not the first sign of trouble. Officials were called to the spa several weeks before the shooting because Haughton allegedly slashed the tires of his wife’s car. He was arrested and charged for the incident and ordered to surrender all guns. Zina Haughton also sought a restraining order on her husband October 8 and a judge issued a four-year restraining order just last Thursday, according to reports. Investigators say they are still unclear why Radcliffe Haughton allegedly snapped, although they say he and his wife had been estranged for some time. Witnesses say Zina’s daughter, Yasmeen Daniel, 20, also witnessed the shooting. Zina and Radcliffe Haughton have a 13-year-old daughter together, who was living with her father until the shooting occurred, a source close to the family said. Radcliffe Haughton’s father, Radcliffe Haughton Sr., apologized to the victims and their families for his son’s apparent actions shortly after the incident. “All I can say is, I want to apologize to the people of Milwaukee who have been hurt. He did not give me any hint of what he would do,” Haughton told ABC News. The shooting erupted 11:09 a.m. local time in Brookfield, and shortly after SWAT teams surrounded the spa with their guns drawn, preparing for a gun battle. Witnesses described screaming women, at least one bleeding, fleeing the spa, with one rolling down a slight hill before police scooped her up and got her out of the area. Customers – some still in robes, others barefoot – ran out of the spa in a panic. Police found Haughton in a locked section of the building where he had apparently shot himself, the chief said. The four injured women ranged in age from 22-40. The hospital was briefly placed on lockdown and only patients with a police escort were being accepted. Following the Jerry Sandusky conviction and the subsequent independent investigation that shed light on just how involved Joe Paterno and Penn State officials were with the cover-up of this monster’s sex crimes, the NCAA has come down with a number of punishments. Among them: the football team must forfeit all victories between 1998-2001, meaning Paterno no longer holds the mark for most victories in Division I history. The sanctions imposed against Penn State by the NCAA include: A four-year ban on all postseason play. A reduction in scholarships – 20/season – over the course of those four years. A $60 million fine, which “must be paid into an endowment for external programs preventing child sexual abuse or assisting victims and may not be used to fund such programs at the university,” according to a NCAA statement. Said NCAA President Mark Emmert upon doling out these football-related punishments: “We cannot look to NCAA history to determine how to handle circumstances so disturbing, shocking and disappointing. As the individuals charged with governing college sports, we have a responsibility to act. These events should serve as a call to every single school and athletics department to take an honest look at its campus environment and eradicate the ‘sports are king’ mindset that can so dramatically cloud the judgment of educators.”

The threesome is already into their second season as the show’s brain trust, and J.Lo is revealing just what makes sharing the judging panel with “Idol” vet Jackson so great. “He has all different kinds of sunglasses. There was one pair where I was like, ‘Those are too big … those are just too big!’ and he’s like, ‘I love these,’ ” she laughed to MTV News during a recent chat about the Fox reality singing competition. “The thing I love about Randy is he’s always so positive, even when he gives negative criticism on the show, ’cause he’s the hardest of all of us.” While Jackson is straight up when it comes to his feelings about the contestants’ talent — or lack thereof — it’s his cool “dawg” demeanor that makes his criticism a much easier pill to swallow. “He’ll straight-out tell you that was awful. We won’t say it,” she said, adding that she and Tyler don’t verbalize their feelings as straightforwardly. “Even though he’s that guy, he’s the most positive and the most great-energy person ever. He can laugh at himself so genuinely at the same time. He’s just an amazing person.” As amazing as his judging style is Jackson’s aforementioned sense of style, which reaches far beyond spectacles. “And he loves crazy sunglasses and I love them on him. Without the glasses, it’s not really Randy — that and the shoes.
