Elizabeth Banks and husband Max Handelman are now the proud parents of a beautiful boy named Felix, who was born via gestational surrogate. “I have been very fortunate in life both professionally and personally,” the 30 Rock star, 37, wrote on her website in a post announcing the birth. “The one true hurdle I’ve faced in life is that I have a broken belly,” she added . “After years of trying to get pregnant, exploring the range of fertility treatments, all unsuccessful, our journey led us to gestational surrogacy.” “From that came two miracles. The first was meeting our carrier and her husband who were truly humbling in their decency and generosity.” “The second miracle was the birth of our baby boy, Felix Handelman.” “Felix means ‘happy’ and ‘lucky’ in Latin. And true to his name, Felix is a very happy baby and a blessing on our life,” she concludes. Congratulations to the happy parents! [Photo: Fame Pictures]
Casey Abrams might still be in shock. The same goes for American Idol viewers, who didn’t expect the judges to use their one save on him so early in the season. But that they did last week, a decision Jennifer Lopez says she’s fine with. “We knew that it was kind of a radical decision because it was so early in the season, but to be quite honest… that is one decision that I haven’t lost one ounce of sleep over,” the singer told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show today. Should the judges have saved Casey Abrams? Vote now ! Okay… but why Abrams? “[Casey] is one of our most dynamic performers. He’s so interesting and so talented,” Lopez told the American Idol host. “I know it’s crazy, but we had to do it!” Now, of course, the decision is out of Lopez and the judges’ hands. Best of luck choosing the winner, viewers! “I really feel we put 11 amazing contestants in front of them, and now it’s [about] who their favorite is, who’s going to be their American Idol,” concluded J. Lo. “I didn’t realize I was going to fall in love with the contestants the way I have and feel for them the way I do.”
The ‘Love Line’ co-host says he made a ‘lifelong friend’ in partner Lacey Schwimmer. By Kelley L. Carter Lacey Schwimmer and Mike Catherwood on “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday Photo: ABC For about a week now, much of the talk about “Dancing With the Stars” has focused on whether Chris Brown would (or should) perform on Tuesday night’s elimination episode. Fortunately for fans of dance, Brown’s pre-taped performance of “Yeah 3x” and a medley of “Forever” and “Beautiful” was relatively uneventful, so the R&B singer didn’t eclipse the show’s true focus: who would be the first person booted from the 12th season of the popular ABC show. It seemed to be not too much of a surprise when “Love Line” co-host Mike Catherwood’s name was called. The low-scoring dancer — who was partnered with Lacey Schwimmer — had improved from last week by four points, but it clearly wasn’t enough to spare him for another week. Top-scoring celebrities Ralph Macchio, Kirstie Alley, Chris Jericho, Hines Ward and Romeo were among the judges’ favorite dancers and easily were saved for next week. Last-place dancer Catherwood was in the bottom three with boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard and talk-show hostess Wendy Williams. When the radio personality was told by host Tom Bergeron that he would be leaving, he talked up how valuable his short time on the show had been. “It’s been nothing but a pleasurable experience,” he said, thanking fans of his radio show and his “Dancing With the Stars” peers. “It sucks to be sent home first, but I’ve made a lot of good friends. America obviously knows that Lacey Schwimmer is a beautiful person on the outside, but everybody needs to know she’s equally, if not more, beautiful on the inside. I’ve made a lifelong friend.” Related Photos The 2011 ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Cast’s Movie Past ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 12 Cast Revealed
Tom Bergeron won’t be the only one refusing to give Chris Brown a standing ovation tonight. The Dancing with the Stars host has already voiced his displeasure over that controversial star appearing on this week’s results show, and now Cheryl Burke has spoken out against the performance, as well. “As a victim of domestic violence, I don’t agree with him coming on the show, but it’s out of my control,” she told Extra . Earlier this year, Burke opened up about her past and admitted she was molested as a child . It should be an interesting evening on ABC, that’s for sure. Do you think Brown should be welcome on such a national stage?
Tuesday marked the end of the road for the first Dancing with the Stars contestant of the 12th season … but who was first to pack up and leave the parquet? The bottom three , according to the scores compiled so far, were Mike Catherwood, Wendy Williams and Sugar Ray Leonard, all of whom were in jeopardy. One of the three left the show last night … but who? Follow the jump to see who was eliminated … It’s back to the radio studio for “Psycho” Mike Catherwood, who along with partner Lacey Schwimmer, failed to make an impression with the judges – or voters. “It’s been such an amazing experience,” said Mike, who ranked last with 30 points out of 60. “It sucks to be sent home first, but I made a lot of good friends.” Lasting for at least another week were Williams, who earned 31 points, and boxing legend Sugar Ray, who had 34. Do you think the voters made the right call? Mike’s departure shouldn’t change much for the list of favorites this season, or for the couples who narrowly survived this week. But with him gone, you tell us: Who do you think will win it all? [Photos: ABC]

Miami Music Week continues with one of EDM’s best. By Adam Stewart Kaskade Photo: KirillWasHere.com MIAMI — It was another big night at Fontainebleau’s LIV nightclub, where Miami’s A-list once again turned out to champion one of dance music’s best. After Laidback Luke’s “Super You & Me” party featuring Skrillex on Wednesday night and an epic set by Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell on Thursday, the room was redecorated and the stage was set to host a full night devoted to none other than Kaskade. Kicking off his day with a surprise guest set at Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 Pool Party at the Surfcomber, Kaskade (born Ryan Raddon) arrived at LIV fully warmed up by the energetic bikini-clad crowd. The line stretched out into the street and the venue was jam-packed with diehard fans lucky enough to get on the right side of the velvet rope of one of Miami Music Week’s biggest shows. Mid-set, a tripped fire alarm caused a brief intermission while the system reset. The crowd, however, egged on by Kaskade’s impromptu storytelling and comedic sense on the mic, began their own frenzied chants, including the hook from the circa-2000 techno hit “Kernkraft 400” by Zombie Nation, a moment that sparked nostalgia for more than just a few in the crowd. But when the green light came to turn the music back to max, Kaskade kicked the party into high gear. Raddon has always had a knack for bringing his biggest to the stage, and tonight was no exception. With a massive remix of his and Deadmau5’s “Move for Me” — transformed into a very catchy, wobbly synthed banger — the crowd couldn’t resist the temptation to sing along to the new rendition of one of his biggest hits ever. He then dropped a rework of another one of his original smashes, this time with “Don’t Stop Dancing Girl,” which he infused with melodic piano riffs and thumping beats. Shortly thereafter, Raddon, known for his penchant for mash-ups, which he often shares with his fans on #MusicMondays, dropped a mix of Marco V’s “Reaver” with Red Carpet’s 2007 smash “Alright.” Rounding out the hour with Max Vangeli and AN21’s remix of Pendulum’s “The Island,” Raddon again set the bar as one of the world’s premier DJs, whose success and talent in the studio transitions seamlessly to his live gigs and beyond. To those lucky enough to attend Kaskade’s night at LIV, it was one for the ages. Checking out Kaskade tonight on Ultra Music Festivals Main Stage? Amber Rose has gone off on Twitter, addressing the rumors that plague her, as well as the media and public that attack her image. But Atlanta-based comedian Lil Duval has no sympathy for her, and he let her know. Yesterday, she wrote: “Morning Twit Fam, [I] didn’t really wake up in a good mood today. I’m just so sick of being ridiculed. [People] assuming things without knowing. I’m super nice to everyone I meet. I’m a very caring compassionate person. I don’t deserve to be talked about so negatively. I really hate explaining myself that’s why I stay so quiet but I will say this….. I was with my ex for 2 years and now I have a new Love. [Two People] that’s it. If that makes me a whore then so be it. I have NEVER slept with Fabolous, Drake, Chris Brown, Amare, Lebron, Cassidy etc nor have I ever been a Prostitute.” Lil Duval’s replied: “No disrespect, but that’s what comes [with] being around so many different men. In our mind if [you are] with him [you] f***ed him. In this world, it’s not about what you think you are, it’s about what people SEE [you] as and it’s up to you to make them see what you see. You’ll see what I’m [tryin] to say later on. [I’m] not bashing you. Just understand [that] you are what’s perceived in this industry.” While we agree that it must be frustrating to constantly be judged and labeled as something that you’re not, NecoleBitchie made a good point: “[This has] everything to do with how far one was willing to go to be noticed and talked about. You would never in a million years see [Kanye’s ex-fiance] Alexis on South Beach in Miami topless and rocking a g-string [or] tonguing down model Rosa Acosta. ” Point taken.
