According to Sun Sentinel: A Pembroke Pines police officer who responded to a jewelry store break-in is accused of stealing a pricey watch that burglars left behind, his agency said. Two surveillance cameras were recording when road patrol officer Kevin Burgs picked up a men’s $795 Movado watch from the floor of a Jared’s store, put it into the pocket of his shorts and failed to pay for it, a complaint affidavit states. Burgs, 36, who has a nine-year career with the agency, was on duty when he was arrested at police headquarters and taken to jail early Thursday. The Movado watch was retrieved from Burgs’ patrol car and placed into evidence, police said. “Public trust is vital to our partnership with the community,” Pembroke Pines Police said in a statement. “It is important to note that we held this officer accountable for his actions and charged him appropriately.” Burgs, freed from jail on a $1,000 bond Thursday, could not be reached for comment. Burgs’ lawyer, Tony J. Alfero, said he could not discuss his client’s arrest until he has more information about the allegation. Pembroke Pines Police promised transparency in the investigation of one of its own. “This one act is not representative of the rest of our police department,” the agency said. “We are extremely proud of our employees and thankful for their constant dedication and hard work.” SMH. According to NBC News: A Tennessee couple were held on a half-million dollars bond Thursday after they were charged with killing their 5-year-old daughter by forcing her to drink almost three-quarters of a gallon of grape soda and water as punishment. In indictments unsealed Monday, a Hawkins County grand jury charged Mary Lavonne Vaughn, 58, and Randall Lee Vaughn, 41, of the town of Surgoinsville with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and two counts of aggravated child neglect each. A court appearance was scheduled for Friday. The Vaughns remained in the Hawkins County Jail this morning on $500,000 bond. They were arrested Wednesday and were scheduled to make their first court appearance Friday. Randall Vaughn was Alexa’s biological father, and Mary Vaughn was her stepmother. The Hawkins County Sheriff Department said in a statement that its investigation revealed that Alexa had been told to stop drinking her stepmother’s grape soda. When she was caught drinking some again, it said, she was forced to drink 2.4 liters — about 81 ounces — of the soda and water in a period of one to two hours. Third Judicial District Attorney Berkley Bell told the Times-News of Kingsport that the Vaughns “also failed to take care of the child once she was injured,” saying they didn’t take her to a hospital until “several hours after the child started exhibiting serious symptoms, after the child was screaming out in pain, went into a paralyzed state and became unconscious.” Alexa lived in the home with five other childen, all of whom are now in foster care, the Times-News reported. County Sheriff’s Dept. has just sent the Justin Bieber case to the L.A. County D.A., and the cops are strongly recommending prosecution for FELONY vandalism over the egg attack. TMZ broke the story … Bieber has been accused by his neighbor of egging his home … causing around $20,000 in damage. Sheriff’s investigators took it seriously enough to execute a search warrant. Lt. Dave Thompson tells TMZ, “I went to the D.A.’s Office today with the paperwork, and I want a felony. Of course I want a felony.” TMZ posted video in the middle of the attack, in which you hear Bieber taunting the neighbor. The D.A. will make a decision in about a week. Justin is rich and white…he has the world in the palm of his hand and he’s risking his freedom for dumb isht like this.

Parents Furious Over Freaky Party Hosted At Kids’ Play Center via CBS New York An adult pajama party hosted after hours inside a children’s entertainment facility had parents on Long Island furious Tuesday night. Krazy Kidz, at 3235 Horseblock Road in Medford, has been under fire ever since it hosted an event this past Saturday night promoted via Meetup.com, and titled, “Jungle Gym & Pajama All-Night Dance Party: For Grown Ups Who Won’t Grow Up,” CBS 2’s Jennifer McLogan reported, “That’s not how you generate extra money. It’s a kids’ place,” Samantha Gray said. “And they have an adult nude sleepover?” Gray was supposed to drop off students for an after-school function at the popular children’s party center, but she found it had been abruptly closed for a “thorough sanitizing,” as stated by the owners of Krazy Kidz. Krazy Kidz has been in the public crosshairs since local parents got wind of fliers and invitations distributed by the private group that rented the facility out for the adult party, which included body painting, Jello wrestling, pillow fights and a Twister contest. “THIS IS JUST GOOD CLEAN WHOLESOME FUN. There will be no orgy, smut, strippers, or sexually lewd content …… however… there will be tasteful nudity.. feety pajamas…and probably little nighties,” the invitation said. But parents who take their children to the facility did not believe the adult party amounted to “good, clean, wholesome fun.” “Most of my friends and everybody who’s talking about it will refuse to go there now,” said parent Elissa Trusnovec of Yaphank. The invitation said there would be “ABSOLUTELY NO CAMERAS ALLOWED,” although some semi-professional photographers and a photo booth would be set up. But what appeared to be candid shots ended up on social media anyway.
