This diving show offends me…I think it’s just another example of how horrible pop culture and mainstream media has become…it’s like they are turning to Olympics and their ratings to determine what the next dancing with the stars is…and the whole thing would make me real made if I cared enough…or more importantly…if they didn’t have girls prancing around in their bikinis…to distract me of how awful this is.. Katherine Webb is a pageant girl…and this is how she’s makin’ a name for herself….in a bikini….good job.
I don’t know if Maria Menounos is just limbering up before her show here, or if this glorious moment actually made it on the air, but either way, I’m pretty sure “Maria Doing Yoga” needs to become a regular segment on Extra . Or at least “Maria Bending Over.” Just think of the ratings. Not to mention, the price they could charge for tickets to the studio audience. I’ll take two. Goodbye, Matt Lauer? Hello, Willie Geist? With Today Show ratings remaining stagnant, insiders tell Radar Online that Lauer’s job as main host of the morning program is in jeopardy, especially because producers already have a replacement lined up. “[Willie Geist] is absolutely being groomed to become Matt Lauer’s replacement if the ratings don’t improve,” the source alleges. “Willie has been filling in for Matt while he has been on vacation during the holidays and has been doing an phenomenal job.” With Good Morning America continuing to defeat its long-time rival, and with Robin Roberts’ return only expected to bolster that series, NBC may soon be in panic mode. Geist is well-liked by viewers and gets along well with Savannah Guthrie , forcing us to ask: Should he replace Lauer as lead anchor? Yes, ASAP! No, give Matt a chance! No, bring back Ann Curry! Although “The Young and the Restless” is the only one of the four soap operas where viewership is down compared with last year, there appears little immediate chance that another show will overtake it soon, said Carolyn Hinsey, a veteran chronicler of daytime dramas and author of “Afternoon Delight: Why Soaps Still Matter.” CBS#39; “The Bold and the Beautiful” is second in the ratings and ABC#39;s “General Hospital,” while third, has been gaining viewers most rapidly, she said. When “The Young
I don’t watch Hart of Dixie, but it appears that cutie McKayla Maroney will make a guest appearance on upcoming episode. I’m not sure if that will help their ratings, but considering the show has terrible reviews, it can’t hurt. Anyway, here is Rachel Bilson attempting McKayla Maroney’s “Not Impressed” meme and failing miserably at it. Still cute though!
Did you see this coming?? Folks are asking BET why the show airs so late in defense of poor viewer turnout and, according to The Grio , the network isn’t putting any of the blame on their shoulders: When T.J. Holmes left CNN to host his own show on BET, Don’t Sleep, some called it a risky move, while the network’s viewers seemed to be excited. Holmes saw it as an opportunity to “reach out and report on stories that directly affect the African-American community.” Unfortunately, the viewership has not lived up to hype. Holmes’ show combines comedy, news and commentary not unlike The Colbert Report and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Don’t Sleep airs in the 11 pm time-slot and drew 400,000 viewers on to its October 1 premiere. The October 9th episode drew 1 million viewers, but since then, it has slipped to as low as 203,000. “To be honest, the ratings haven’t been great in the past two weeks. Our audience always says they want this kind of programming, but they don’t show up,” said Debra Lee, BET’s CEO. theGrio’s 100: T.J. Holmes, News anchor leaves CNN for BET As a result, Don’t Sleep will now be on for one hour once a week, instead of every night. BET released a statement saying, “The viewers have spoken and due to the overwhelming demand, Don’t Sleep will now be expanded to a one hour weekly format allowing for a more comprehensive discussion of the issues and events affecting the African-American community,” “We will now have an hour-long format to educate, empower, and engage. This will allow us more time to delve deeper into topics and determine how we can all, in our own way, be agents of change,” Holmes wrote on his website. “As part of being extended to an hour, the show will move to Wednesday nights at 11 p.m. This will allow us to do on-location reporting from cities and communities across the country.” Here’s a thought BET. How about you address the rest of your programming as a whole and leave real shows like ‘Don’t Sleep’ alone for now. Images via twitter
James Marsden is not a Barry Manilow fan, no matter what you may have read in his IMDb.com bio. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , the Bachelorette actor explains that he’s the victim of “a famous actor friend of mine” who “likes to go into other people’s bios and add things.” Marsden won’t identify the guy, but apparently, the wiseacre managed to get the usually reliable IMDb to embellish the Enchanted actor’s bio with the erroneous tidbit that Marsden was a big fan of the “Copacabana” crooner. As a result, Marsden has had to field frequent questions on the subject, most recently when Access Hollywood ‘s Billy Bush asked him about Manilow at the Napa Valley Film Festival on Nov. 9. A spokesperson for IMDb told THR that information submitted to the site “goes through a series of consistency checks before it goes live,” but that given “the sheer volume of the information, occasional mistakes are inevitable, and, when reported, they are promptly fixed.” The Manilow reference does appear to have been removed from IMDb, but why do I feel like it’s only a matter of time before the bio bandit strikes again. There’s a ballyhooed sex scene between Bella and Edward that received a respectable 8 on ML’s Scream-O-Meter , but it apparently was some violence that almost earned Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), which would have caused quite a stir and conundrums in Twi-hard Land, which still counts quite a large crowd of teens among its ranks (not that that crafty crowd wouldn’t have found a way). Still, the ” Restricted: Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian ” would smack of potential box office blues for a franchise riding on a gangbuster turn-out and a final cash infusion for Summit, the franchise’s distributor. Initially, Breaking Dawn Part 2 received the R because of some extreme violence by way of beheadings, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Certainly, with any other movie, there are a thousand ways to kill people,” director Bill Condon told the Times. “With this one, it’s a variation on the same theme. If they were going to be offended by the idea of beheadings, we would have had no movie.” But the MPAA holds the ratings whip and the filmmaker said that some parts of the film were modified in order to give the multi-billion dollar franchise’s finale a more access-friendly PG-13 (The offending ‘R’ scenes should make for great marketing come DVD time at the end of the day). Sill, this isn’t the first time the world’s favorite vampires have sashayed with the only over 17 threat. Breaking Dawn Part 1 nearly received the R due to a sex scene (sex is often more titillating to the MPAA than violence which it more frequently tolerates, so those beheadings must’ve been doozies!) Kristen Stewart told Glamour that the original sex scenes in the first Breaking Dawn had even surprised her. “It was so weird, it didn’t even feel like we were doing a Twilight film. I was like, ‘Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?!’ It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R. They re-cut it.” [ Sources: The Huffington Post , Glamour , Los Angeles Times ]
I’ve never really heard of Daniela Ruah before, but she sure knows how to straddle a board. Apparently she’s on NCIS: Los Angeles , and they were filming some surfing scenes for the show. And while I may not be a TV expert, I am when it comes to pictures of girls at the beach. And if you ask me, getting Daniela out of a wetsuit and into a bikini would make these shots at least 10 times better. No need to thank me when the ratings go up, I accept checks.
