Eff A Lil Young Thug: 10-Year-Old Charged With Murder For Murking His 12-Year-Old Friend

This is sad: Prosecutors filed murder charges Wednesday against a 10-year-old boy accused of fatally stabbing his 12-year-old friend in an East County neighborhood. A detention hearing for the boy is planned for Thursday morning in Juvenile Court. Ryan Carter, 12, was stabbed in the chest about 1:15 p.m. Monday in the driveway of the younger boy’s home in the 12500 block of Royal Road in the unincorporated Winter Gardens area, near El Cajon, according to sheriff’s officials. Paramedics took Carter to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, where he died about 2:30 p.m., Lt. Larry Nesbit said. The alleged killer’s name was withheld due to being a juvenile. Glen Carter said his family is coping with their son’s death and has mixed feelings about the murder charge. “It’s just sad for both families. This is going to be tough to get through,” Carter said. “It’s up to the courts now.” The suspect’s age will play a factor in the trial. The judge could require the 10-year-old to undergo mental evaluation which could take up to eight months before the trial could move forward, a criminal attorney told Fox 5. The attorney said the suspect’s parents are not at fault, but could face civil action. The suspect, who was reportedly being medicated for aggressive behavior problems, was being held in Juvenile Hall while prosecutors reviewed the case. Paris Hilton Tackling ‘Whole New Genre’ On Next Album

Hilton is working with Afrojack and childhood friends LMFAO for her sophomore record. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Paris Hilton Photo: Getty Images Paris Hilton famously declared that “Stars are Blind” on her 2006 single. Now, she’s hoping to recapture some of that musical magic on the follow-up to her self-titled debut. She’s hooking up with club-music producer extraordinaire Afrojack for the record and is knee-deep in getting it done. “I’ve been in the studio all day recording my new album,” she told MTV News at the Weinstein Golden Globes afterparty. And if fans think she’ll be channeling some sugary sweet pop on this next release, they’d better think again. “It’s completely different from my last album. I’m going with a whole new genre. I have Afrojack executive-producing the entire album. So we’ve just been coming up with the most incredible tracks,” she teased. “I was just in the studio with RedFoo the other night, so we’re going to be doing my new single with LMFAO .” Given how ubiquitous LMFAO is these days, a Paris/LMFAO track could be the perfect combination to reintroduce the world to Paris Hilton, pop star. “I’m so excited. The music’s turning out so great and I can’t wait to release it this summer. Two nights ago [I recorded the song with LMFAO],” she said, describing the session as “awesome.” “I’ve known them since I was a little girl. We grew up together ’cause our parents are friends, so I’m just so proud of them and all their success and what they’ve done ’cause they’ve just created this whole ‘Party Rock’ brand and it’s just so awesome.” Noting that she grew up singing in the choir and can also play violin, piano and guitar, Paris defends her choice to record another album. “I think a lot of people don’t know that music is my passion since I was a little girl,” she said. “I’m very musically talented. This is more my thing [musically on this album], more of a club scene, more dance. … The single’s done; it’s in the can. That’s probably going to be out [within] the next month or two.” Hilton isn’t just singing for her new record — she’ll also be trying her hand at singing on the big screen when she works with “Repo! The Genetic Opera” director Darren Bousman on his next project. “I’m about to do a film with my friend Darren Bousman. He has a new musical that’s coming up called ‘The Devil’s Carnival,’ ” she said. “It’s about Hell, it’s a musical and it’s different.” Are you looking forward to new music from Paris Hilton? My Chemical Romance’s ‘Kids From Yesterday’: Death Of Danger

Fan-made video for ‘The Kids From Yesterday’ looks back at the band’s rise to fame. By James Montgomery My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way in “The Kids From Yesterday” music video Photo: Warner Music Group Really, My Chemical Romance ‘s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys deserved better. A big, bold re-invention of their sound and swagger, it was, by the band’s own admission, a “missile” aimed at destroying the staid state of rock and roll, and perhaps because of that fact, it failed to catch on here in the states. You could practically track its decline based on the videos MCR released off the album, starting with the big-budget “Na Na Na” and the equally flashy follow-up, “Sing,” in which they offed the titular Killjoys (who seemingly will never be heard of again). Their next single, “Planetary (Go!)” came coupled with a live video, and, to the best of my knowledge, a clip for “Bulletproof Heart” never materialized at all. My Chem actually seemed to address the matter in an interview with MTV News last year , in which frontman Gerard Way lamented that the band had “gone through so many things” over the course of the Danger Days cycle, and hinted that, if there were to be any more videos off the album, they’d have to be financed by MCR themselves. So it’s somewhat fitting that, on Monday, they unveiled the final clip from Danger Days: a fan-made video for “The Kids From Yesterday” that documents the band’s decade-long climb from Neo-Goth New Jersey rockers to interplanetary conceptual quartet. Like the song itself, the clip is a bittersweet thing, recounting MCR’s many triumphs (a pastiche of memorable live moments, it culminates with their headlining slots at Reading and Leeds this past summer), while leaving those who love to read between the lines to wonder if perhaps the band’s latest era also represents the end … not necessarily of My Chem themselves, but of a moment in rock that now seems to have all but disappeared. Truly, MCR were the last bastions of the heady heyday of mid-aughts MySpace punk, and now, well, who knows what’s next? Of course, much of the message behind Danger Days seems to be one of self-empowerment, of inspiring fans to take matters into their own hands and shaking up the status quo. That’s yet another reason why “Kids” is such a fitting sendoff; it was made in collaboration with a fan named Emily Eisemann, who had culled through live footage and initially created a clip of her own. There’s a reason why the video ends with the phrase “Art is the Weapon,” after all: it’s been the band’s clarion call this entire time. It’s also something Way touched on during Danger Days’ release, when he told MTV News that the album was not a conceptual piece, but rather “a complete allegory” for smashing the system and placing the power directly in the hands of their fans. And “Kids” is proof that MCR’s message was heard loud and clear, perhaps not by a majority of the record-buying public, but definitely — and most appropriately — by their fans. Sometimes, sales aren’t the only measure of a band’s success, and Danger Days is a testament to that fact. “Kids” may bring one chapter of their career to a close, but wherever My Chemical Romance go next, you know they’ll do so boldly; that’s what makes great bands truly great after all: the willingness to push the boundaries, to purvey inspiration, to shake things up … sometimes even at their own expense. Melanie Amaro Wins First US ‘X Factor’

19-year-old from Florida receives a $5 million recording contract and a spot in a Pepsi commercial that will air during the Super Bowl. By Adam Graham Melanie Amaro performs on “The X Factor” finale Photo: FOX From early reject to grand-prize winner, Melanie Amaro was crowned champion of Fox’s “The X Factor” on Thursday (December 22), winning a $5 million recording contract and a spot in a Pepsi commercial that will air during next year’s Super Bowl. Amaro, a 19-year-old from Sunrise, Florida, beat out 30-year-old Columbus, Ohio, contestant Josh Krajcik for the title of “X Factor” winner. Chris Rene, the 28-year-old from Santa Cruz, California, came in third place. When the results were read, an emotional Amaro exclaimed, “Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!” She was swarmed by members of her family, and “X Factor” host Steve Jones struggled to get a word from her. After performing Beyonc&#233′;’s “Listen,” Amaro said, “God is good,” and thanked her fans. “Thank you so much, thank you. I’m just, I’m so happy and I don’t know what to say,” she said. “This is something I’ve wanted for all my life!” Amaro’s victory was espzaecially sweet considering she was technically eliminated from the competition after Simon Cowell sent her home following one of the early rounds. Deciding he had made a mistake, Cowell paid a personal visit to her home and invited her to rejoin the competition. In the end, Cowell was pleased with his decision, as well as America’s choice of Amaro as its first “X Factor” winner. “We came here to find a superstar, we found a superstar. Thank you to everyone who supported the show,” Cowell said. He called Krajcik “a worthy runner-up.” Krajcik, the husky, self-described burrito slinger, congratulated Amaro on her victory. “Melanie deserves it, she has a wonderful voice,” he said. “I’ve had such an incredible experience here. I got to be myself and sing what I wanted to sing. I couldn’t be happier.” Earlier in the show, third-place finisher Rene said he felt “amazing” for getting the chance to participate in the competition. “I got to touch a lot of people’s hearts out there, and I just gotta say thank you,” he said. Rene’s mentor in the competition, L.A. Reid, called Rene — a recovering substance abuser who celebrated his eighth month of sobriety earlier this week — a “gentleman” and a “talent.” “This is how it turned out, it doesn’t matter,” Reid said. “This is my man.” “The X Factor” was one of the year’s most anticipated shows. It debuted in September with lofty expectations, with Cowell — who abandoned his judging position at “American Idol” to bring “X Factor” to these shores — predicting the show would attract 20 million viewers per episode. Instead, it pulled about half that, averaging 11.1 viewers over the course of the season, and criticism from viewers who questioned the show’s over-the-top production and the awkwardness of host Steve Jones. Thursday’s results show followed Wednesday’s performance episode, when the three finalists performed duets with superstar acts: Amaro with R. Kelly, Krajcik with Alanis Morissette and Rene with Avril Lavigne. Following the show, Cowell heavily endorsed Amaro to be the winner. Thursday’s two-hour episode featured a host of musical acts. Justin Bieber performed on the show, dueting with surprise guest Stevie Wonder on “The Christmas Song” and later with “X Factor” finalist (and Biebs superfan) Drew Ryniewicz on “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” 50 Cent also appeared on the show, performing his new single “Wait Until Tonight,” as well as his 2003 smash “In da Club” alongside Tony Yayo, “X Factor” rapper Astro and several members of the Los Angeles Lakers. Pitbull, meanwhile, appeared and did a quickie version of his single “International Love” and was later joined by Ne-Yo and “X Factor” contestant Marcus Canty on “Give Me Everything.” A countdown of the show’s top five most shocking moments rightfully named Rachel Crow’s December 8th elimination as the season’s biggest shocker, and Crow herself was brought out and joked about stealing host Jones’ job. She introduced Leona Lewis, who covered Snow Patrol’s “Run” over a package of the season’s most memorable moments. The top 12 finalists opened the show with a group performance of Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory.” The top three contestants also performed holiday songs, with Amaro doing “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Rene crooning “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and Krajcik taking on the Eagles’ “Please Come Home for Christmas.” Prior to the reading of the results, Amaro and Krajcik shared the stage together and performed David Bowie’s “Heroes.” What did you think of the “X Factor” results? Let us know in the comments!

The X Factor Results Show: Down to Four…

Another young contestant got sent home this week on The X Factor. A week after Drew Ryniewicz was reduced to tears, the same fate befell 13-year old Rachel Crow, who fell into the bottom two and then got eliminated after the judges deadlocked and the show left the final decision up to viewers. After falling into her mother’s arms following the reading of the verdict, Crow – whose Tuesday night performances you can watch HERE – composed herself and said: “I love you so much, everybody, for voting for me and thank you for giving me this because without you I am nothing. I hope this is not my ending. I know it’s not and I will go so far. I promise you!” What do you think? Did Rachel deserve to go home this week?

For ‘Breaking Dawn’ Fans, Once Isn’t Enough

‘Twilight’ enthusiasts’ repeat viewings could keep flick box-office king. By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Summit Happy “Twilight” Tuesday ! It’s time for another installment in our resurrected series of columns dedicated to all things regarding Edward Cullen, Bella Swan, Jacob Black and the rest. Today’s topic: Just how long will “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1” reign as box-office king? Knowing the serious dedication the “Twilight” fanbase has to the film franchise, it’s no surprise “Breaking Dawn” dominated the box office during its opening weekend. And even with a slew of highly anticipated films opening this weekend — “The Muppets,” “Hugo” and “Arthur Christmas” among them — the fervor still surrounding “Breaking Dawn” and fans’ commitment to see the film multiple times means that the vampires and werewolves are very likely to hold the #1 spot for a while. “I have seen the movie twice,” Cade Johnson, of Salinas, California, told MTV News via email. “I would like to see it in theaters at least four times, maybe five,” he said. “It is definitely the best out of the four so far, in my opinion.” Yvonne R. Villani of Hiram, Georgia, has also vowed to see the film multiple times and has a strategy in place for how to keep herself immersed in “Twilight” goodness as long as possible: “I’ve seen this movie multiple times and plan on seeing it a few more times because I just really liked it!” she said. “I have been waiting all year and part of last year, since I read the book, for this movie to come out. I have ‘Breaking Dawn’ both in paperback and audio CD, so I figure I will start either reading it or listening to it again this week, then when I get to where the movie left-off, I will go see it again to remind myself of the differences and really compare.” “Twilight” expert Laura Byrne-Cristiano, who runs TwilightLexicon.com , said she’s noticed a lot of fans changing their opinions about “Breaking Dawn” the book now that the film version has opened. “I’ve also noticed a real shift in opinion that caught me by surprise so much so that I ran a poll about it,” said Byrne-Cristiano said. “When the novel ‘Breaking Dawn’ came out, it was a love/hate thing. But from what I’ve seen, people have really started to change their minds about it, and have come to like it. “The people who got into ‘Twilight’ after the movies came out seem to pick ‘Breaking Dawn’ as their favorite book by a landslide, which is something that never occurred to me in a million years because of all the backlash when it first came out.” So, what is it about these films that has fans so engrossed and committed? It’s a “clean movie” with universal appeal, according to fan and repeat viewer Alessandra Sorgato, who wrote to us all the way from Milan, Italy. “I’m glad that so many people can identify themselves with the characters of ‘The Twilight Saga,’ ” she said. “It kind of surprises me because Stephenie Meyer wrote a love story which is anything but ordinary — it’s not based on sex, adultery and things like that. Lately it has become quite unusual to see movies focused on morals like eternal love, true friendship, the value of family at the top of the box office,” she added. ” ‘Breaking Dawn’ is a ‘clean movie,’ still it’s very successful all over the world, and I love it.” Speaking of worldwide love and success, we found out via a quick Twitter poll that there are a slew of very dedicated fans out there who have already seen “Breaking Dawn” six times, with one on her way to a 20th viewing! “I will keep going till they stop playing it!” wrote Robyn Smyly . “I will see it 6 times and my fave scene is when Bella takes her ‘human minutes’ when they get on the island,” said Kalynn Drake . “I’ve officially seen it 5 times now as of yesterday afternoon. What can I say? I’m addicted,” admitted fan Jodi-Lynn . “I plan on seeing BD at least a dozen times in theatre, I’ve already seen it three times,” Mel Douglas chimed in. There are so many more where those came from, but the award so far for most viewings definitely goes to Fran Richards , who wowed us with this stat: “I have seen Breaking Dawn [Part] 1 a total of 19 times so far,” she wrote. “Doing a 5 show marathon today!” What would you like to see on “Twilight” Tuesdays?
