The eight-part show on cable channel TLC, which makes its TV debut on Sunday, portrays the Tea Party favorite, and arguably America#39;s most polarizing public figure, as a family-loving, outdoors woman who is as happy gutting salmon in the mud as addressing political rallies. Tracy Ryerson beach photos

Tracy Ryerson in Santa Monica last week, star of the hit show The Real L Word (a reality series that follows the lives of six les-bians in L.A.). But I#39;m not so sure about that. I don#39;t see any pillows for fighting or scented oils for rubbing, and she#39;s definitely not wearing a low-cut schoolgirl outfit. Doesn#39;t seem like much of a “real” hot woman to me at all.

How Chad Ochocinco’s Reality TV Career Jumped the Shark within the First Minute of Ultimate Catch

No, Ultimate Catch is not the new, post-stroke title of Deadliest Catch — it’s football star Chad Ochocinco’s VH1 reality series where he combs a casting pool of hundreds to find a wife/fiancee/girlfriend/any old person. If anyone’s right for a televised dating spree, it’s Ochocinco, who comes with ready-made catchphrases like “Child, please” and a rambunctiousness that defined his recent stint on Dancing with the Stars , but it took all of 60 seconds for the #85 Bengal to squander his telegenic goods on this abysmal new series.

Glee Reality Search Canceled, But Will Fox Still Cast from the Audition Pool?

It’s hard to believe that Glee creator Ryan Murphy could believe in the pitfalls of overexposure — what with all those Glee soundtracks and Madonna tributes and White House appearances — but today’s news proves that Murphy thinks too much of Glee can be a bad thing. The planned Glee reality series, an American Idol -like competition that would air in the run-up to season two and cast three new roles , has been shelved . I know what you’re thinking: What about all those precious MySpace audition videos? Will their wannabe stars ever make it to regionals?

Are VH1 and A&E Switching Personalities?

VH1 debuted a docuseries last night called The OCD Project , a mysteriously stone-faced exploration of people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It has some of the trappings of familiar VH1 fare — the sufferers move into a house to seek treatment, a psychiatrist consults and sets up phobia-breaking stunts, and confessionals punctuate the hour — but the low-key storytelling and lack of a celebrity draw mark a weird new vista for VH1. The once-proud network of Rock of Love Bus shows signs of evolving into A&E, whose arguably exploitative, but revered docuseries Obsessed , Intervention and Hoarders have set a standard for reality series about psychiatric disorders. At the same time, as VH1 escalates in quality, A&E continues to pad its lineup with programming about Kirstie Alley, Gene Simmons, and many other celebrities . Is a bizarre switcheroo occurring?

Cat Deeley Talks to Movieline About So You Think You Can Dance’s Changes and Stealing Emmys

Cat Deeley’s hosting gig on So You Think You Can Dance acquaints her with talents who want a quick rise to stardom, but her beginnings in TV happened just as swiftly. The 33-year-old star landed an on-air job in her native UK after sending one self-made audition tape to MTV. That job led to countless others, including hosting duties on Brit reality series The Record of the Year and Reach for the Stars . Now that she emcees the US and UK versions of So You Think You Can Dance , Deeley seems poised for a universal takeover. Ahead of SYTYCD ‘s seventh season premiere tonight on Fox, Deeley spoke with Movieline about her academic past, Emmy aspirations, and how the show will be different without Mary Murphy as a permanent judge.

5 Potential Challenges for Michael Bay’s New Action-Adventure Reality Show

Our new cousin Nellie Andreeva at Deadline reports that pyrotechnically-inclined auteur Michael Bay is shopping around a reality series entitled One Way Out , a lawless game in the mold of Survivor, The Mole and The Amazing Race that “pits ordinary people from all walks of life against each other.” Just what surprises will the Transformers director have up his short sleeve for this one? We’re not sure, so we’ve taken the liberty of suggesting 5 challenges that would perfectly suit a Bay-branded show. (We even wrote him some hosting patter!)
