But … Laura Govan Says Shaunie O’Neal Ruined Basketball Wives With Casting Choices According to TMZ reports : “Basketball Wives” should only feature the WIVES of basketball players … and NOT random “hos” … so says former cast member Laura Govan who says the recent crop of women are ruining the reality show. Govan — who was axed from the show after Season 2 — tells us she’s got a serious beef with show creator Shaunie O’Neal … explaining, “I feel like she didn’t keep [the show] in the basketball creed.” “She shoulda kept ‘Basketball Wives,’ basketball wives” … adding, “There coulda been a ‘Housewives or a Ho’ show for everybody else later.” Clearly, Laura is talking about cast members like Draya Michele (ex-GF of football player Orlando Scandrick) and Sunday Carter (who reportedly had a daughter with married ex-NBA star Larry Hughes.) FYI — Laura doesn’t exactly fit the mold herself … ’cause she ain’t a basketball “wife” either — even though she’s been engaged to Gilbert Arenas off and on for years. Royce Reed Speaks On Life After Basketball Wives Former Basketball Wives cast member Royce Reed has been putting in her 2 cents from sidelines every once in a while as the show continues on in her absence and now she’s speaking out in detail about her post-reality tv life. Royce recently sat down with VH1 to dish on her company Fantashique, her baller-boo Dezmon Briscoe (who is apparently still in the picture), which of her ex- cast mates she’s no longer beefing with, and more. Check out their chat below: via VH1 Blog What’s new with you professionally? Fantashique is definitely thriving. We have ninety five members in the Orlando branch, and we have six companies and four competition teams. We also just expanded to Atlanta and have plans to expand to five cities in five years. Other than that, I’m still working on my second book, I know I keep putting it off and people keep asking me about it…..but it’s coming sooner or later.” Fantashique has a strict code of conduct when it comes to the young girls who take dance lessons with you. You have grade expectations and social media rules for all your girls, which is impressive. This generation is very, very scary. The stuff we go through with these girls is more real that saying “Oh, you’re talking about me?” [Being on the show], I felt like I was being a hypocrite, because I’m on a show where there’s like, constant fighting, and yet I’m sitting here trying to voice something different. As much as I enjoyed the checks, it wasn’t worth contradicting myself and doing something I didn’t really believe in. I felt kinda like I was selling my soul. I was totally fine with the way I went out last season, you saw me doing my career, you saw me being me. Hmmm. Interesting to hear Royce say she felt like she was “selling her soul” for her 15 minutes and a paycheck. Did you think she left the show at the right time? Grey Goose hosted the hottest party for the kang TI following the Bet Hip Hop Awards! Over 1500 people flocked to 200 Peachtree to take in the evening of tantalizing entertainment and refreshing GREY GOOSE cocktails, all while celebrating TI’s birthday. With the likes of Rick Ross, Diddy , Rico Love, Jennifer Hudson, Tyrese, and Brandy, valet could not keep up with the number of Maybachs and luxury vehicles pulling up to the venue. At 2am Brandy jumped on stage to sing the King of the South Happy Birthday and every toasted to the King’s birthday and success with GREY GOOSE Le Fizz cocktails. Towards the end of the evening, Tyrese and Jennifer Hudson arrived together to pay a special surprise to good friends TI and Brandy. Diddy arrived early in the evening with Sarah Chapman. Mobbed by a crowd while trying to be inconspicuous in a corner while at the event. The GREY GOOSE Cherry Limeade and gimlet were the cocktails of choice for the evening.
