Simone Biles to Dancing with the Stars Judges: Don’t Tell Me to Smile!

It’s official: Simone Biles isn’t just a world champion gymnast. She’s also a world champion comeback generator. On Dancing with the Stars last night , Biles advanced to this season’s semifinals on the heels of a solid Foxtrot and a strong Paso doble. But the former Olympian didn’t totally win over the judges with these routines, as Carrie Ann Inaba took Biles to task less for her dancing skills and more for her lack of emotion. “Your skills are unquestionable,” Inaba said, prior to getting into the crux of her critique: “You hit every line with precision and perfection. But once again, I’m going to come back to performance and authenticity about who you are when you perform… “You have this beautiful smile and you are a megastar with your energy, but once in a while, there’s beauty without a smile. “There’s beauty in pain and all of the other emotions, and I’d like to see more of that.”  Julianne Hough agreed with her fellow panelist. “I don’t know if the smile is authentic because you want to smile, or if it’s just because you rehearsed it that way,” she told Biles. “I really just want to see some rawness come out.” This is, of course, completely ridiculous. And also a bit sexist. Can you imagine any judge telling a male contestant to smile more naturally? Fortunately, Biles had the perfect response to this odd and unfair criticism. “I’ve lived in a gym 14 years of my life, so it’s hard to show something I’ve never felt before,” she said at first, offering up a valid excuse for why she isn’t a natural on the dance floor. But after remaining stoic upon hearing positive reviews after her second performance, and then being asked by Tom Bergeron why she still wasn’t smiling, Biles responded: Smiling doesn’t win you gold medals. BAM! And Biles would know. This amazing comeback earned the athlete quite a bit of praise and admiration across social media. And then there was this: Following the episode, Biles and her partner Sasha Farber spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the struggle she’s had to connect with the judges this season. “I feel like everyone has their own opinion, clearly, and I feel it’s just how you take it,” Biles said, adding: “I feel like I am trying, I am being honest, but if they don’t see that, I don’t know what more I can do.” An intense competitor, Biles is accustomed to simply getting the job done; not concerning herself with what sort of emotions are displayed on her face. “You don’t know which wild card of sexy or of happy they want to bring, and you almost have to read their minds and find it,” she told ET last night, concluding that she nearly broke down on live television. “I had tears in my eyes. I almost ran to the bathroom at one point, but I pulled it together.” You go, Simone Biles! If we have it our way, this impressive young woman will win the entire thing this season… … and then accept the Mirrorball Trophy without even the faintest hint of a smile.

Phaedra Parks Breaks Silence, Reacts to The Real Housewives of Atlanta Firing

Phaedra Parks is ready to move on. The reality star has no real say in the matter, of course, having been fired as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta this week. The bombshell was dropped on fans of the franchise yesterday, following a fiery fourth installment of the show’s ninth season reunion special on Sunday evening. During the taping, Parks confessed to telling Porsha Williams that Kandi Burruss and Burruss’ husband, Todd Tucker, had planned on drugging Williams and taking her back to their place for some sex. Did she base this wild accusation on something Burruss and Tucker actually told her, as she previously claimed? Did she pass it along to Williams based on first-hand information? No, Parks finally admitted at the reunion. “I repeated it because I heard it,” Parks explained. “Something was brought to me. I just repeated it. I repeated what someone told me. I’m not saying I didn’t say it. I’m saying I repeated it.” That’s a pretty fine line. And, even for a Real Housewives storyline, it’s also a pretty insane topic to broach. As Kandi cried and insisted that Phaedra essentially accused her of rape, other cast members at the reunion sat in shock. Kenya Moore couldn’t believe that Parks could make such a reveal and then remain stone-faced, while Porsha fought back tears and replied: “Oh, Phaedra, that’s awful.” “Oh God, that’s so awful. I swear to God, Kandi, I would never ever say something like that to you if it wasn’t told to me in truth and confidence.” Parks did end up muttering an apology on set, acknowledging that she “shouldn’t have repeated it.” But Williams wasn’t having it. “I feel betrayed … and completely taken advantage of,” she said, adding on stage: “[Our friendship] was a lie and I was the pawn used to hurt Kandi. I don’t know if I’ll be able to move past this.” In the end, producers weren’t able to move past the rape allegations. According to TMZ, they gave Parks her walking papers shortly after this explosive reunion special aired on Bravo. You can use the video below to watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online and see this utter craziness go down: Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 Episode 24 Online How is Parks feeling about the ordeal? What does she have planned next? We can’t say for certain, but the controversial star shared the following message on Instagram in the wake of this scandal. “New day, new week! Have a magnificent #Monday! #letsgo,” Parks  wrote alongside the poster below, which read: “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.” In other words: The past is the past and Parks is ready to see what the future has in store for her. Toward the end of the reunion, host Andy Cohen put Parks in her place, telling her directly: “You got caught in a megawatt lie. I don’t know that you’ve completely copped to it.” She apologized again at this point, adding: “I’m sorry that it hurt Kandi as well.” Speaking later to Us Weekly, Cohen expressed surprise that Parks was so calm about the incident. She didn’t express much remorse or emotion on stage. “She seemed kind of withdrawn about it,” Cohen told the tabloid. The Watch What Happens Live also said he’s “spoken a few times” with Parks since the reunion taping, but “I don’t get the sense that she has [talked to the other Housewives].” This is not shocking. View Slideshow: 17 Stars Who Really Love the Real Housewives As for whether she can repair her friendships, Cohen has his doubts. “It seems a little precarious,” he says. We agree. Once you accuse a friend of planning to drug and rape another friend, there’s almost never any going back from that.

The Voice Recap: Top 10 Hang Tough, But Who’s in Danger?

The Voice top 10 performers laid it all on the line once again Monday night, and the stakes are high, especially after the last two weeks. Obviously, every week matters when you’re facing elimination, but after The Voice results last Tuesday, it’s clear that no one is safe. It’s time to run down all of the performances from the episode.  Jesse Larson Jesse Larson’s latest performance was a cut above last week’s and boy; it was needed. Singing “Jungle Love” by The time, he made me realize just how much he deserved to be in the competition.  He made the song his own and turned in a rock-solid performance. What more could I ask for? Aliyah Moulden Aliyah went with “Jealous” by Labyrinth, and it proved that she had the vocal range to make even a quieter song sound awesome.  All season long, she’s been singing anything that she can shout at, but this showed a completely different side to her.  Vanessa Ferguson Vanessa opted to sing “Doo Wop” by Lauryn Hill, and it was a return to form for the star. There is absolutely nothing negative I could say about this number.  Mark Isaiah There was something very off about Mark’s performance tonight. He went with “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles, and it was just not all that.  The song is not a good one, and the performance suffered. I’m all for people trying to break out of their vocal range, but this was a resounding dud. Chris Blue “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars is a great song, and Chris is an excellent sing, so what could go wrong? A lot. Here’s the thing: Chris has a knack for hitting all the notes, but adding in a high-octane dance number meant his voice struggled.  Whether this will signal the end of his time in the competition is another story, but something tells me he may have screwed up.  Lilli Passero Lilli went with “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole, and it was a doozy. I’ve been critical of Lilli in the past, but she’s managed to find her groove and is not straying away from that.  More performances like this and I could Lilli on the season finale.  Lauren Duski The country singer went with “Tell Me Why” by Wynonna Judd, and it was pretty amazing. She effortlessly hit all the notes and kept the audience intrigued.  Hunter Plake Hunter went with “Higher Love” by Steve Winwood, and it was meh. It was such a shame because he’s been one of the ones to watch, but he’s tailed off over the past few weeks.  He needs to get it back together right about now because two people are leaving the process. Maybe he never got the memo.  TSoul This competitor went with “At this Moment” by Billy Vera. It was great, with several portions that sounded amazing. He knows his style, and he sticks to it.  Brennley Brown Brennley has been a frontrunner since the start of the season. Singing “Anyway” by Martina McBride definitely kept that going.  She will be in the final 8.  Who do you think should get the chop? Hit the comments below! 2017 MET Gala: Who Looked the Absolute Worst?

It can be difficult to judge the fashion choices made by celebrities at the MET Gala each year. That's because this event is meant to bring out unique designs and dresses. But still. We're up for the challenge. We've taken a long, close, painful look at every ensemble donned at the 2017 MET Gala and we've determined that the following stars either tried too hard… didn't try hard enough… or wore camouflage to the event. This is our list of Worst Dressed. 1. Madonna Camouflage? No, Madonna. You should know better. 2. Kim Kardashian While most celebrities tried too hard at the Gala, Kim didn’t try hard enough. How boring is this?!? 3. Kendall Jenner Why even bother wearing a dress, Kendall? You could have just gone naked instead of rocking this desperate outfit. 4. Gigi Hadid Gigi Hadid went with a confusing, asymmetrical Tommy Hilfiger ensemble that included fishnet stockings. Weird, right? 5. Wiz Khalifa Wiz Khalifa attending a fashion event. Or auditioning to be a circus ring leader? 6. Mandy Moore The one shoulder exposed? The bright purple makeup? We love you Mandy Moore, but just… no. When it comes to this ensemble, no. Teen Mom OG Recap: Who Wants Another Baby … and Who Can’t Have One?

Last night on an all-new  Teen Mom OG Season 4 Episode 3 , Amber Portwood made a surprising reveal that caught everyone off guard. Meanwhile, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra spent the bulk of this installment debating the future of their family. What did they decide? Watch Teen Mom OG Season 4 Episode 3 Online We begin with Amber, who threw a birthday party for daughter Leah with the help of Matt Baier … and Gary Shirley and Kristina Anderson. Indiana’s own Modern Family, are we right? Things are going so well between them compared to years past that Gary actually told Amber that she and Matt should have a baby. Yes, this is the same Gary who confronted her about the fact that Matt Baier has nine kids by seven women she doesn’t know about. Clearly relations have improved between Portwood and her ex, but Gary’s suggestion unexpectedly opened up a whole new can of worms. “I can’t,” Amber said, and dropped it, but later told producers she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder. The long and short of it? Amber Portwood will likely remain on serious medication for the rest of her life to combat those mental conditions. Those drugs can harm fetus, but she couldn’t go off the drugs because the consequences are too severe, so new babies are off the table. That’s a tough, tough situation, but Amber and Matt – for all people say about them – were remarkably composed, positive and forward-looking. Farrah Abraham, meanwhile, is none of those things. She announced that she was going to pack and move in the same day to San Diego, California, because of her nosy neighbors in Texas. Despite the fact that her daughter has a whole life, and Farrah owns a frozen yogurt shop, furniture store and children’s boutique in Texas. “I don’t make bad choices,” Farrah insisted. No, girl. Of course you don’t. Not a one. Abraham even told her father later Michael that she is in fact moving to the Golden State, though we’re not holding our breath. Why? Because we know she loves the drama. Come on. This is a girl who gifts her mother a noose on camera. You think she wants to lead a quiet life away from prying eyes? Nah, bruh.  Meanwhile, in Michigan, Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra threw a birthday party for daughter Nova, but their mind was on their next child. Tyler’s was, at least. Catelynn Lowell’s battle with postpartum depression after giving birth to Nova in 2015 has been very well documented. Beyond the PPD issue, which is serious, she also has a long-acting, reversible contraceptive device implanted, so that’s a consideration. Finally, Maci Bookout was actually trying to get her son Bentley to be more interested in spending time with his own dad, Ryan Edwards. Yes, we’ve reached the point where Ryan is actually putting in work, and Bookout is on good enough terms with Edwards to be receptive. If only it was that easy, though. You see, dude has been MIA for so long that Bentley’s gotten used to that and now thinks this is weird. Obviously, Ryan’s parents blamed Maci for Bentley’s absence at Thanksgiving without realizing that he himself had chosen not to go. Ryan, too, complained that he thought Maci was acting like a “punk” by keeping Bentley, calling it “unfair'” to girlfriend Mackenzie Standifer. Does he have a point? Yes and no. Eh, mostly no. Whose fault, at the end of the day, do you think the little boy’s indifference toward Ryan is? Edwards ought to check the nearest mirror. “If Bentley wanted to go with him, I’d let him in a heartbeat, but I’m not going to make him do it just to make Ryan feel better!” Maci vented. She’s right. Ryan made this bed and now he has to lie in it, because while he is putting forth a lot more effort lately, it’s very long overdue. You can’t fix years of being an absent d-bag overnight. Just keep doing what you’ve been doing and building the relationship, Ry Guy.  Good things come in time. View Slideshow: Teen Mom: What Do the Dads Do for a Living?!

The Voice Recap: Who Will Make Final 10?

The Voice continued with another solid performance show that proved most of the people still in the competition deserved their spot.  The top 11 took to the stage to try and get the competitive edge to advance into the top 10. Let’s run down the 11 performances.  Stephanie Rice Stephanie has struggled to move out of her vocal range to show audiences she can change things up. She successfully managed to do just that with “Behind Blue Eyes” by The Who.  It was a surprisingly good performance and gave me hope that Stephanie would be able to make to the finals.  Aliyah Moulden Aliyah’s performance of “Take it Back” by Reba McEntire was, like, the worst performance of the season. No, seriously, she screamed her way through it.  It was a surprisingly horrid rendition of a classic song. Screaming through songs is not the way to go, and Blake should have known better.  TSoul TSoul can do no wrong. Every single week, he gets given a song and makes it his own. “Lay Me Down” by Sam Smith is a difficult song to sing, but there was something about it that felt so original.  The performance faltered when he left the piano, but it was still a cut above some of the others.  Lilli Passero Lilli went with “Town Without Pity” by Gene Pitney. It was up there as one of her best. It was perfect. There was nothing to fault with it.  She made the song her own, and that’s what artist should be doing at this stage of the competition.  Hunter Plake Hunter went with “All I Want” by Kodaline. Despite some hiccups, it was a solid number that showed just how far he has come since his days struggling to emerge as a strong competitor.  Gwen said she let him make his own decisions and I think she should continue to do so.  Vanessa Ferguson Vanessa went with “Diamonds” by Rihanna, and I immediately rolled my eyes. I’m so over chart music being used on competition series.  However, the performance blew me away. Vanessa has been all over the place with her performances of late, but she’s trying to be a better performer.  Lauren Duski Lauren went with “Somewhere In My Broken Heart” by Billy Dean. It was amazing. She brought her A game and proved the naysayers wrong.  She hit every note flawlessly, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming for her next.  Mark Isaiah Mark is struggling to change things up, and it’s proving that he has a very limited vocal range. Singing “How to Love” by Lil Wayne should have been his time to shine.  Instead, it was the same one-note route he has traveled before.  Jesse Larson Jesse’s performance of “Human” by Rag’n’Bone Man was music to my ears. Despite a weak opening, he pulled it together pretty quickly.  More performances like this and he may just win the season.  Brennley Brown Brennley went with “River” by Joni Mitchell. It was yet another solid performance from the youngster.  All of the notes were on point, and it sounded like a performance you would hear on finale night. Yes, she’s that good.  Chris Blue Chris Blue went with “When a Man Loves a Woman” by Percy Sledge. It was a solid performance from him. He’s become a reliable performer over the course of the season.  It should be enough to save him for another few weeks.  View Slideshow: Reality TV Star Salaries: Who Makes the Most?

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 6 Episode 9 Recap: Joseline’s Special Delivery

Joseline Hernandez had a special delivery for Stevie J on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 6 Episode 9 .  Yes, she finally gave birth to their child! Yes, we know she gave birth months ago, but we were super excited to see it all play out on TV.  Watch Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 6 Episode 9 Online The kind folks at VH1 were kind enough to dedicate a whole episode to Joseline’s road to motherhood, and it gave us all the feels.  When the episode got underway, Joseline was eight months pregnant and preparing for her baby shower. She met up with her brother at Baby Bella Boutique.  Kermit’s girlfriend was six months pregnant, and Joseline was concerned over how he would react to it. Also, she was worried about how he would feed his family.  “How are you going to be able to put food on the table for the kids?” she asks, and he responds, “How everyone else did it.” Joseline became vocal about her brother not taking the same method to parenting as Stevie and wanted him to find a way to provide for his children.  You could tell she gave Kermit some food for thought. The wheels were spinning in his mind about the best route to take.  Joseline then made her way to the Yoga center to meet up with some of her girlfriends. She chatted to them about the possibility of having a water birth.  Defina wanted to go the water birth route, but she let Joseline know it quickly went the other way.  “I wanted to do a water birth as well, but by the time I got to the hospital I did three pushes, and it was out,” she reveals. After that, Tamika gave Joseline an infant simulator to get to grips with being a parent. Joseline was happy with this. Joseline then revealed that Nikki Mudarris was coming to town for some “pregnant sex.” “Nikki [Mudarris] is coming into town tonight, and she definitely wants to have pregnant sex, but I’m really not feeling it because, you know, I’ve got this big stomach, but we all know my baby’ll freak,” Joseline explains to her gym trainer. “So I guess we need to speak to her and see where her mind is at.” We then got to see the two women in bed together with sexy lingerie on. They were trying to get intimate to send Joseline into labor.  It did not work.  At the baby shower, everyone managed to stay civil, and it showed a different side to the cast members. Everyone was smiling and chatting about happy things.   We then flashed-forward to December 28, 2016. Joseline started feeling contractions and went into labor at home. She decided to go to the hospital when the pain became too much.  After the birth, she called Stevie to let him meet his daughter.  As I look at Bonnie for the first time, it’s unbelievable. There’s nothing better you can accomplish in the whole wide world than to be a mother. It’s a feeling that no one can explain,” Joseline says during her final confessional of the evening.  What did you think of all the developments? Sound off below! Survivor has delighted fans for the past seventeen years, with shocking scenes that show just how far people are willing to go to win the money.  However, some of the scenes were downright horrid, and they showed what the contestant was really like.  Below, we've compiled a list of the most shocking moments in the history of the veteran reality series.  1. Zeke Smith is Outed as Transgender Zeke Smith was outed as transgender by Jeff Varner during a tense tribal council. “There is deception here. Caleb Reynolds Was Too Hot for Survivor Caleb Reynolds was taken off the show when he collapsed and his temperature hit 110 degrees. 3. Colby Donaldson’s International Crime Colby Donaldson found himself in hot water when he broke off pieces of coral from a protected reef during his stint in the outback. An apology was enough to right the wrong. 4. Jon Dalton the Liar Jon Dalton lied to his contestants that his grandmother passed away during his first stint on the show to get sympathy and a much-need reprieve in the game. Clay Adler, Former MTV Reality Star, Commits Suicide

Clay Adler, a model and television personality best known for his former role on MTV’s Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County, committed suicide while on hanging out with friends last month. He was 27 years old. The ex-reality star was likely best known for his leading role on the aforementioned series. It premiered on August 13, 2007 and concluded on January 2, 2008, serving as a successor to Laguna Beach. The program chronicled the lives of several teenagers living in Newport Harbor (an affluent community within Orange County) and was structured more like a regular TV show than a documentary. Adler appeared on both seasons of the show, taking on the “role” of Grant Newman’s close friend and Chrissy Schwartz’s occasional boyfriend. According to TMZ insiders, Adler and a few pals went shooting in the desert on March 25. At one point, in the middle of firing off a few rounds, Adler turned the gun on his own head and pulled the trigger. He died the following day in the hospital from this gunshot wound. Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that no drugs or alcohol were found in Adler’s system, but the 27-year old had struggled with mental illness in the past. After Newport Harbor went off the air, Adler tried to break into the world of acting, earning roles in such films as Make It or Break It and The Fish Tank. Both were released in 2009. Adler got started in Hollywood around the same time as Jennifer Lawrence. The two struck up a little friendship about 10 years ago, posing together on the red carpet in a photo from the 2007 Movieguide Awards that is making the Internet rounds along with this sad news. Not much else is known about Clay Adler, so we’ll end with his official bio, courtesy of his time as an MTV reality star: Clay Adler is a junior and although shy with girls, he is regarded as Newport Harbor’s hottest guy. Born and raised in Newport Harbor, Adler takes full advantage of his oceanfront playground. Whether he’s fishing from his speedboat off Balboa Island or surfing on one of Newport Harbor’s famous breaks, Adler catches girls’ glances wherever he goes. Adler’s humble attitude belies his looks and he often turns to Grant, his gregarious friend, for a boost of confidence. While it seems Adler could have any girl he wants, his shyness has kept him from having a relationship. But when Adler develops real feelings for Chrissy — and she responds accordingly — it could be his chance to break out.
