Jordan Belamire has been sexually assaulted three times in her life, she says. Twice in real life, specifically, and once in virtual reality. Belamire (an alias) says she was playing a game, QuiVr, on her brother-in-law’s HTC Vive VR system when she was sexually assaulted. She’s not saying she was assaulted in the room while playing the game, she’s claiming she was violated in the virtual world of the game. According to Belamire, she was shooting zombies with strangers in QuiVr’s multiplayer mode when another player began to rub her chest. Virtually, but she says it was just as bad as the “real” thing. “I’ve been groped in real life, once in a Starbucks in broad daylight. I know what it’s like to happen in person ,” Belamire, 30, told CNN. “The shock and disgust I felt was not too far off from that.” Another user, BigBro442, had caught on that she was a woman because her mic streamed her voice through to the virtual world. Belamire yelled “Stop!” as BigBro442 grabbed her. That only made the bad situation worse, she said, as “he chased me around, making grabbing and pinching motions near my chest.” “Emboldened, he even shoved his hand toward my virtual crotch and began rubbing,” she wrote in a post that has gone viral online. Not everyone is buying into her claim that this is assault. “Please explain how someone can be assaulted in any form in VR. This seems to be someone whining just to whine,” said one commenter. Belamire temporarily suspended her Twitter as a result. Saying she is “more disturbed by the backlash than the VR incident itself,” she says she rejects the idea that this is someone harmless. Virtual Reality Sexual Assault: Is It a Real Thing? “It’s not real, therefore it’s OK; this is the amoral substructure of gaming culture,” wrote sociologist and gaming critic Katherine Cross. “This, more than anonymity, is the source of much gender and racial harassment on the internet,” she says in her essay, “Ethics for Cyborgs.” Other women have described similar experiences in VR. “I still tensed up and felt uncomfortable, and removing the headset didn’t take that feeling away,” says one gamer of her own harassment. Indeed, Belamire told CNN that the hand that stroked her body felt “very lifelike. You can make the fingers move in really realistic ways.” No, it’s not the same thing as real life, but it has an impact, she says, and one that’s severe enough that it should be taken very seriously. Some industry critics suggest that there needs to be a code of conduct in VR since its psychological effects are still new and unknown. Do you agree that this problem needs real monitoring? Kailyn Lowry wants the whole entire world to know that her marriage to Javi Marroquin was a big, stupid joke … Or so it would seem. Over the weekend, Kailyn appeared as a bridesmaid at a friend’s wedding, and the picture she shared … Well, friends, it was pretty heartless. These dang ol’ Teen Moms are just out of control these days, aren’t they? Over the last few days, Lowry’s been pretty passive-aggressive … even by her own normal standards. She’s been tweeting and retweeting things like crazy, such as, “Your boyfriend or girlfriend is supposed to be a stress-reliever. A breath of fresh air. IDK what y’all be doing.” She also said that she can’t relate to feeling appreciated, that she “doesn’t hold grudges” and “gives too many chances.” Kailyn then linked that to “dreading tomorrow more than anything,” and “hate doctors offices,” making us wonder what her medical deal is (we won’t ask about her emotional deal, since it’s obviously she’s off-the-chain nuts). What might be the worst bit of this whole wedding thing is that Kailyn’s totally overtaking the bride’s day and making it about her. Just last week, Kailyn and Javi were feuding (again) (no, like, again again) and Kailyn tweeted some pretty terrible things. She said, “If you say you’re gonna do something, do it.” “Just f–king do it.” “When people you once trusted use manipulation and guilt to control a situation,” she added, clearly not a master grammarist. Javi hit back, however, and responded with, “Don’t make me expose you for who you really are,” which, honestly, we really wish he would. He continued, “@ me next time. If you wanna go there, we can.” “If you use all your ammo to go for the kill, you won’t have any bullets for the next guy,” he said. “Remember that.” Kailyn was far from finished, though (because of course she wasn’t) and responded the next morning, “Never good enough for someone who isn’t ready.” We’re pretty sure who’s not good enough for … well, let’s just leave it at Kailyn’s a big, dumb d–k, and Javi’s no better for goading her. Try telling Megan Marx and Tiffany Scanlon that one cannot find love on The Bachelor. Granted, we’ve seen an endless number of couples fail to make it down the aisle after the man asked for the woman’s hand in marriage to conclude the latest season of this franchise. But perhaps that was the problem all along: Perhaps The Bachelor was not intended to match up a man and a woman, but rather a woman and a woman . Marx and Scanlon met while filming the 2016 version of Australia’s The Bachelor. They were both aiming to win over star Richie Strahan in the end. As time went on, however, Megan and Tiffany found grew more attracted to one another, as they continued to post photos on Instagram together long after filming ended. These photos would include captions that mentioned the other as “my favourite person,” and/or said “there are many things that I love but this is one.” Was it possible that two women who signed on to find a husband ended up finding true love in a member of the same sex? Yes! On Monday, Marx shared a new photo on Instagram that seemed to confirm the pair’s romantic relationship. “I met Tiffany in a very strange situation. Well…we were kind of dating the same guy…” the caption to it began. We’ll just go ahead and let her take it from there: And it was filmed and put on TV. From that first cocktail party, it was like this instant calibration between souls, as if we had known each other once before. Friendship ripened into something bolder, trust in a very strange situation was formed, and now every adventure we have rivals the other- and continues to make plans for itself. Yesterday I flew this beautiful woman to The Abrolhos islands for her 30th birthday! I have to admit that I felt so so proud to be with her, my favourite person, celebrating such a momentous occasion on the water- a mutual love of ours. She is so confident in the ocean and in every adventure, as if every new experience is a winning of the lottery somehow; a chance to grow and learn and develop. To Tiffany, experience wins over the worldly acquisition of ‘things’ every time- and I think this is why she is so open-minded, so accepting of others, so fun and so at ease with letting winds blow her towards a variety of opportunities. She’s helped me to disintegrate many of the ideals I’ve had that were harmful (about relationships, about career and ‘stability’) and for that I feel set free. Thank you for always asking questions (detective Tiff), for being curious about people, ideologies and the universe; for loving people with such a wholesome love that I don’t know if I would ever be able to emulate. It inspires me. Happy Birthday Tiffany. I love you. We don’t exactly have any more questions about whether or not these two are together, do you? We watch The Bachelor online and/or on television often and we feel comfortable saying this may be the greatest love story ever told on the program. John Legend, long-time family friend of the Kardashians, recently opened up about Kim’s Paris robbery to XM Radio’s Sway in the Morning, and truth be told, he brought the realness in a big way. About the heist, Legend said , “People were criticizing, you know, security, this and that.” “But five people with guns come up?” he asked. “I don’t care if you’ve got two or three security people, they got to back up,” he proclaimed. “You don’t want to get in a gun fight.” “You’ve got five armed guys coming; there’s not really much you can do to stop that,” he admitted. “Just give them what they want and escape with your life, you know?” “[There was no way to prepare for Kim’s] one-in-a-billion situation,” he concluded. However, it would appear that he took a shot at Kardashian and her social media ways, using them as a cautionary tale. “[You] have to be careful about [Snapchatting] and things like that,” he said. “Because people know exactly where you are.” Despite Kim’s TMI social practices, Legend maintained his Kardashian defense. “You just can’t go through life in fear all the time,” he said. “And we try not to.” Kim has since emerged in public for the first time after the robbery – over two weeks later – looking very demure and very down, and honestly, who can blame her? Though rumors swirled that the robbery didn’t happen , or that Kanye West himself staged the robbery, Kardashian sued the publication fabricating the rumors. Kardashian seems to be on the mend, however. Not only did Keeping Up With the Kardashians celebrate nine years of putting us through hell, it was reported that production on the reality show resumed as normal, after being suspended shortly after the hold-up. Though many thought the show would be cancelled after the drama, that same many apparently forgot that the Kardashians thrive on drama to continue their brand. Of course they wouldn’t toss nine years’ worth of work in the trash. John Legend is absolutely right, though – you don’t bring a Kardashian … or anything else for that matter … to a gun fight. And also, Kim really needs to exercise a whole lot more discretion with her personal life than she has in the past. For her sake, but also for ours.
Blac Chyna Throws Son King Cairo A 4th Birthday Party Chyna’s extra excited for her little Kardashian princess on the way…but yesterday it was time to celebrate her first born. Chyna’s son with Tyga, King Cairo , officially turns four years old today, and Chyna made sure to throw him a big bash with his favorite things — Ferraris and Legos. Guests were treated to a candy station from Dip’d N Drip’d, the kids played around on an inflatable car slide and set up Lego stations, in a setting decorated with tons of red Ferraris. Grandma KJ (Kris Jenner) even dropped by with a gift, and snapped photos with her daughter-in-law-to-be and her new co-granny, Tokyo Toni. Wow Kris looks so….excited to be there. And what an interesting outfit Tokyo has on… Either way, it looks like all the guests — Amber Rose and her son Bash, Kourtney and her kids, Laura Govan — had a blast! Rob Kardashian is gonna do whatever needs to be done to save his career – er, we mean relationship with Blac Chyna. Of course. In a new clip from Rob & Chyna , Kardashian discusses his decision to enter therapy in order to sustain the ridiculous relationship with Chyna , real name Angela White. In the clip, Rob tells Chyna , “I think seeing somebody to talk to or whatever, I mean it’s not gonna hurt to just try it out.” “I personally don’t really agree with the whole thing, but I’m more than willing to try it out and do that if it’s gonna benefit you and I,” he says. He continued, telling the camera, that his not-quite brother-in-law, Scott Disick, suggested therapy , since it worked such wonders for him and Kourtney. Ha. “Scott suggested therapy,” he said. “I’m obviously more than willing to do whatever it takes for Chyna,” Rob continued, “and I’m willing to try it.” Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna: Headed to Therapy Throughout the clip, it’s apparent that Chyna’s brain cells are all but being dissolved by the fetus she’s gestating, as she doesn’t do much but sit and vapidly smirk. She did say, however, if you were able to decipher it, “I mean, I know like how against it you was, and like, opening up to, like, a stranger probably would make you feel uncomfortable.” Chyna continued, “But I’m glad that you are, like, willing to do something to, like, save our relationship or make me feel comfortable.” Counting the amount of times she used “like” in her verbiage, it’s almost hard to understand her without actually writing it all down and running a fine-tooth comb over it. As for their foray into the wild world of couples therapy, we don’t personally suggest it. Rob and Chyna are as unstable as two people in a relationship can be, and while it might solve problems in the interim, there’s gonna be a massive amount of drama after the baby comes. If they’re doing this all for ratings, shame on them. Fighting, feuding with family members, being in and out of their shared home – this is no way to raise a child, unless they’re looking to raise another Kardashian. Frankly, we’re kind of hopeful that this show gets the boot once and for all, and Rob and Chyna quit while they’re ahead, cutting their losses. Or at least before their baby’s born – and it’s due in just four weeks. Hopefully they’ll have their crap together by then, but it’s doubtful.
