KKK Supporters And Black Peaceful Crowd Meet At Confederate Flag Rally When will the KKK go away?? Via Raw Story : After proclaiming that the Confederate flag isn’t a symbol of hate and vowing a peaceful protest against its removal, members of the Ku Klux Klan required a police escort to leave a rally in front of the South Carolina statehouse on Saturday. The Klan rally was scheduled from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the south side of the statehouse grounds, while on the north side, the Black Educators For Justice were scheduled from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Greenville Online reports. Governor Nikki Haley had asked people to stay home instead. “Our family hopes the people of South Carolina will join us in staying away from the disruptive, hateful spectacle members of the Ku Klux Klan hope to create over the weekend and instead focus on what brings us together,” she said in a statement. “We want to make the Statehouse a lonely place for them. In doing so, we’ll honor those we have lost and continue to make our state stronger.” Instead, the event turned raucous. Despite numerous claims by the KKK that their event would be peaceful, videos of Klan members carrying confederate flags and taunting black protesters with ugly racist speech quickly emerged. In one video, a white man with a shaved head can be seen making ape noises, another threatening to “hang your black *ss.” In another video, another Confederate flag-holding white man tells a person that they are the color of excrement. Teacher Kidnapped By Husband’s Mistress, Killed In Murder-Suicide A high speed chase ended with the death of an Atlanta-area teacher and another woman on an Alabama interstate today. Police from Alabama and Georgia gave chase as a woman, believed to the mistress of the teacher’s husband, sped across state lines after kidnapping the woman from her home. Via WXIA : Police say a longtime special needs teacher was killed by her kidnapper following a chase that crossed state lines on Thursday. According to Clayton County police, 49-year-old Sandra Barnett, a teacher McNair Middle School, died after her kidnapper shot her in a car stopped on the middle of Interstate 20. The suspect then shot herself, police said. It all began Wednesday afternoon when neighbors of Barnett said they spotted a black Dodge Durango outside of the teacher’s home. The neighbors became suspicious because Barnett had recently replaced the lock on her gate to her backyard after believing that someone had tampered with the latch. Clayton County police said they believe that the girlfriend of Barnett’s husband was the kidnapper. According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies spotted the Durango around noon on Thursday at a truck stop on I-20 near the Waco exit, and a chase ensued. The driver led officers heading west on Interstate 20 through Carroll and Haralson counties. When the chase crossed state lines, the Alabama State Patrol joined in. The chase continued to mile marker 208 where the vehicle stopped suddenly while being pursued. According to Clayton County authorities, the suspect reached into the back of the car, retrieved a gun and shot Barnett before turning the gun on herself. When Alabama troopers approached the car, they found the two women dead. Officials said that officers did not fire their weapons nor were they fired upon. SMH! Alabama Police Taser Black Teen Girl During A Seizure We already knew police in Alabama have some seriously racist tendencies . Now, an Alabama woman has filed a federal suit against five police officers who restrained and repeatedly tasered her teenage daughter while she was having a medical emergency during a Kevin Gates concert earlier this year — right before violently slapping cuffs on her for trying to help her ailing child. Via RawStory : An Alabama woman claims police repeatedly shocked her and her teenage daughter with Tasers as the girl suffered from a seizure during a hip hop concert. The woman, whose name was not released, filed a federal lawsuit last week against five police officers and the police chief from Rainbow City and three others from Gadsden, as well as the Center Stage venue where the concert was held, reported AL.com. The lawsuit claims the teenager suffered a grand mal seizure earlier that day at her high school – where she was treated but not hospitalized. She later went to the concert, where the suit claims a performer caused a “stampede” after going into the crowd – triggering another seizure after concertgoers “trampled” the girl. The teen’s sister told a Center Stage employee that the girl was having a seizure, and the worker carried her to the lobby and dumped her on the ground, where she was then placed in a chokehold. The sister called their mother, who arrived a short time later in a T-shirt and pajama pants, and police quickly pinned her to the ground and fired a Taser at the woman, causing her to urinate. Officers then used a Taser three times against the teenager as she lay face-down with her arms pinned behind her, causing the girl to lose consciousness. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where her mother was arrested for disorderly conduct, and the suit claims police mocked the girl and threatened to take her to a mental hospital. SMH! Apparently the suit seeks damages for pain, emotional distress, medical bills, punitive damages and attorney’s fees. Hopefully she gets all that and more.

Drug Kingpin Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman Escapes Prison Again Drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escaped through a one-mile long tunnel that was dug under the shower space of his prison cell in central Mexico, authorities said Sunday. After security cameras lost sight of Guzman late Saturday, guards went into the cell and found a hole 10 meters (33 feet) deep with a ladder, said National Security Commissioner Monte Alejandro Rubido. The hole led to the huge tunnel with a ventilation and light system, Rubido said, adding that its exit was in a building that was under construction. A motorcycle on a rail system was found in the tunnel and is believed to have been used to transport tools and remove earth from the space, which was 1.7 meters high and around 80 centimeters (2.6 feet) wide. Rubido said 18 prison guards will be interrogated by prosecutors in Mexico City. Until Guzman escaped, Rubido said, “the day had gone on normally and at around 8:00 pm he was given his daily dose of medicine.” The maximum-security prison is located 90 kilometers (55 miles) west of the capital in Mexico State. Guzman had been jailed there since February 2014. It is the second time in 14 years that Guzman has broken out of prison. Now the former baller is said to have relapsed and doing heroin in shady hotel rooms… Via Life & Style : Lamar Odom is still battling his old demons. A friend tells Life & Style that the former basketball star relapsed during a visit with Jamie Sangouthai, who died in June from an infection contracted through IV drug use. During a stay at a Best Western in LA about two months before, the men left behind traces of black tar heroin, straws and burnt tinfoil — evidence they’d been inhaling the drug, a method known as “chasing the dragon.” Photos obtained exclusively by Life & Style “definitely show black tar heroin,” says substance abuse counselor Dr. Alicen McGowan. “The heroin is placed on top of tinfoil and a lighter heats it from below. A person uses a straw to inhale the vapors.” A friend of Lamar’s tells Life & Style, “Lamar left for Las Vegas in mid-May, and he’s been regularly getting high.” And while he’s assured friends he’ll seek treatment, Lamar’s strange behavior, slurred speech and mood swings are making those close to him increasingly worried. “His friends are scared that he’ll wind up like his friend Bobby Heyward and Jamie,” the pal says. Latinos Outnumber Whites In California People have projected for years that Latino Americans would outnumber the rest of the races residing in the USA. That day has already come for California , where the “minority” has officially eclipsed the number of Caucasians residing in the state. Via LATimes : The demographers agreed: at some point in 2014, Latinos would pass whites as the largest ethnic group in California. Determining when exactly that milestone would occur was more of a tricky question. Counting people isn’t like counting movie ticket receipts. The official confirmation had to wait until new population figures were released by the Census Bureau this summer. The new tally, released in late June, shows that as of July 1, 2014, about 14.99 million Latinos live in California, edging out the 14.92 million whites in the state. The shift shouldn’t come as a surprise. State demographers had previously expected the change to occur sometime in 2013, but slow population growth pushed back projections. In January 2014, the state Department of Finance estimated the shift would take place at some point in March. Either way, the moment has officially arrived. “It is going to accelerate,” said Roberto Suro, director of the Tomás Rivera Policy Institute at USC. “This is really the beginning of a new phase that will play out over another generation.” The continued influx and growth of Latinos in the United States is not being fueled exclusively by immigration but by second- and third-generation immigrants who are settling down and starting families, said Marcelo Suárez-Orozco, a professor and dean of education at UCLA’s Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. “Where L.A. goes is where the rest of the state goes and where the rest of the country goes,” he said. “We announce demographically speaking, the future for the rest of the country.” The world is definitely changing !
