Lane Bryant is and has always been on a mission to celebrate women of all sizes. Hence, the reason they did the #ImNoAngel show around the same time Victoria’s Secret did their annual runway show. And it’s also the reason they tried to get an ad titled “This Body” aired on major networks recently. Unfortunately, it was rejected. In the ad, plus-size women, including models Ashley Graham and Precious Lee, unapologetically show off their bodies, and what they’re capable of–that includes exercising, posing, and breastfeeding–in the clip. But that was either too much for some people, or they simply didn’t like the ad, because networks, including ABC and NBC, opted against airing the spot… [ MadameNoire ] ASOS Is Selling Wedding Gown Now-And They’re All Under $500 As I said before, one of the best and probably the easiest parts of preparing for a wedding (aside from possibly testing food and desserts…yum) is finding a wedding dress. Considering that ASOS has been providing some very stylish and chic clothing for women of all sizes for an affordable price over the last few years, it only makes sense that they would release a bridal collection–also for a good price. The company sells options for bridesmaids dresses and offered a marketplace for bridal vendors, but this will be the first real wedding gown (or jumpsuit, if that’s more your style) collection from them exclusively. Prices range between — get this — $100 and $500… [ MadameNoire ] 6 UC Santa Cruz Students Busted In $100K Ecstasy Ring Six college students from UC Santa Cruz were busted last Friday (March 5) in a $100,000 ecstasy drug ring. The accused are all age 21, and are members of the Alpha Kappa Delta Phi sorority, and Lambda Phi Epsilon fraternity. Authorities obtained a warrant and thwarted attempted drug shipments last week, seizing approximately 4.1 pounds (or 5,000 pills) of MDMA. The alleged traffickers used the mail to ship and receive drugs from overseas.
