Sarah Palin’s Alaska Recap: Sarah and Kate Plus Fate

Kate Gosselin joined Sarah Palin on her show Temptation Yukon (AKA Sarah Palin’s Alaska ) last night, and the bleary-eyed TLC vet sent a message to the Palin family with a single stare: “This is what you want, Sarah? A reality show? I have a reality show, and I am downtrodden . I am a seething divorcee with a haircut like a circular saw. I am a sack of quilted vests. You don’t want to do this, Annie Oakley. Get out while you can. Use your optimism to fly away. Move quickly. Or I’ll crash this floatplane with all of us in it. Ahehe! Oh, let me .” Let’s review.

On DVD: Alice in Wonderland and the Other 2010 Movies That Made Us Hate 3-D

Unless your 3-D movie this year was about piranhas or jackassery, odds are that the stereoscopic effect prompted headaches more than it did enthusiasm. Case in point: Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (now available from Walt Disney Home Entertainment), a movie that would have been merely annoying and underwritten screened flat, but wound up having the extra misery of those glasses and those blurry effects with the 3-D that was added to it in post.

Does Anyone Like How I Met Your Mother Anymore?

It looks like you can add Neil Patrick Harris to the list of people who disagreed with my impassioned plea on behalf of How I Met Your Mother ‘s sixth season . The Emmy nominated star of stage and (small) screen booked a three-night stint leading the Stephen Sondheim musical Company earlier today , and he used the occasion to somewhat bury the veteran sitcom.

As if the consistency and legacy of the films weren’t destabilizing enough, 2010’s movie vintage will forever be remembered for its deeply troubling developments in the dark arts of publicity stills. The 10 Best SNL Sketches of 2010

I’m well aware that there are approximately three hours of Saturday Night Live programming yet to air in 2010, so a best-of for the year might be a tad premature. Nevertheless! Here are the 10 best Saturday Night Live sketches of 2010. I promise, though, that if anything extraordinary happens in the Paul Rudd or Jeff Bridges hosted episodes — which is quite likely, actually — I’ll update this list accordingly.

‘It Got Real Up in That Memory Cave’: Community Recapped

There was a bit of debate between critics on Twitter after last night’s Community about whether or not comedy series should be judged on the amount of laughs they draws from viewers. In short: Yes, they should, but that doesn’t mean a comedy always has to LOL z-funny to succeed. Coming on the heels of “Mixology Certification,” it looks like Community is finally learning that lesson.

Gleebasing: You’re a Mean One, Sue the Grinch

The business of song selection during “A Very Glee Christmas” may have left a lot to be desired , but the yuletime themed episode provided enough Glee -tasfaction for the holiday season. (Well maybe not for the Hanukkah season, but Christmas was very well represented.) There was plentiful Sue Sylvester, another endearing Brittany storyline, a heartwarming duet between Kurt and his dreamy new love interest, a Grinch homage that put Ron Howard’s 2000 film to shame, and a happy ending, even for the cardboard cutout that has become Will Schuester. Now, for an extended recap and as always, a pop quiz. Pencils ready?
