Reese Witherspoon, who is engaged to marry agent Jim Toth, watched as her nieces took a ride on a carousel. Then the whole group stopped by the Poppy Store, where a source tells us, Witherspoon “helped her nieces pick out presents … She was very sweet to them.” The birthday girl continued the celebration Tuesday evening with a family dinner at Tavern in Brentwood. Along with Toth, Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7, her parents, brother and sister-in-law and nieces, Witherspoon enjoyed her meal in a privat
Actor gushes about Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Stewart and Uma Thurman, calling them ‘experienced and passionate people.’ By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson in “Water for Elephants” Photo: David James/FOX Given his otherworldly popularity, it seems as if any time Robert Pattinson appears in a film, the majority of the media attention and coverage focuses mainly on the man himself, not his various (and equally attractive) co-stars. As such, Pattinson’s lovely leading ladies are occasionally overlooked and likely find themselves constantly answering questions about the “Twilight” star and not the other way around. However, during our live interview with Pattinson on Friday (March 18), “MTV News First: Robert Pattinson,” we asked the actor to talk about his beautiful co-stars, beginning with Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon, who plays his love interest in the upcoming romance “Water for Elephants.” When asked whether he was intimidated by Witherspoon, given her award-winning career, Pattinson admitted that he was — but only for a few minutes. “Anyone who’s really famous and really great, it’s always going to be slightly intimidating,” he said. “But she has such a nice energy about her, and [the intimidation] is gone within the first couple of seconds.” Regarding his track record of lovely co-stars (Witherspoon, Kristen Stewart, Emile de Ravin in “Remember Me” and Uma Thurman in the upcoming film “Bel Ami”), Pattinson joked that he only works with lovely ladies. “I like hot girls,” he joked. “I like them. I like being in movies with lots of hot girls,” he said with a laugh, before getting serious to consider his current and former co-stars. “They’re all pretty different,” he said. “They’re all very strong, actually. I always end up being in movies with very experienced and passionate people. They’re never just flimsy floozies.” Who is your favorite RPattz leading lady? Let us know in the comments below! Lovely. I never wondered why Ryan Philippe escaped this monster….and now you don’t have to either, in the event you are one of those weirdos who thought this bitch was hot, cuz maybe you have low standards, or maybe she reminds you of her weathered, hard working, tired mom or some shit, but I’ve always seen the truth, she fucked Philippe on set, and got knocked up and used him to knock her up 10 more times cuz he’s a nice guy like that, but nice only goes so far… I didn’t need her out without movie magic make-up to figure out the mystery of why she was famous or even why she was some sort of sex symbol to some real weird people, I knew it was all great high budget marketing and PR…. Take this picture in, cuz it’s a lot of picture to process. Seriously. This is disgusting, scary and amazing all at the same time. Follow Me
To say that Lea Michele has been waiting to meet Barbra Streisand for a long time is a bit of an understatement. When Movieline caught up with the Glee star last summer to play My Favorite Scene , all she could talk about was Babs’ star-making turn in Funny Girl . “I just related to that movie so much,” she said. “It’s my favorite movie ever.” As anyone who saw her performance at the Tonys — or any minute of Glee , in general — can attest, she wasn’t lying. So, what would happen if Michele ever got the opportunity to meet Streisand out in public? Some hyperventilating and tweeting, of course.
Add another major star to the Oscar telecast. Academy Award producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer have announced that former Best Actress winner Reese Witherspoon will be handing out a statue at the ceremonies on Feb. 27. If you’re scoring at home, let’s slot her in just below Aaron Rodgers — but above Werner Herzog and David Lynch — on the list of possible Best Picture presenters . [ Deadline ]

Man, oh, man, what a weekend for sadists. If watching a bloated cultural institution run aground in front of millions of viewers — thus squandering its talent and goodwill before finally collapsing beneath the weight of ego, misjudgment, bad decisions and competitive pressure — is your idea of a riotous spectacle, you were in all kinds of luck. But enough about How Do You Know .

Perhaps Susan Boyle should not sing at the Royal Wedding . The Scottish sensation, who continues to rule the Billboard album charts, had an unfortunate incident this morning on The View . Performing the classic song “O Holy Night,” Boyle missed a note and lost her way. She motioned for the music to stop, but ended up standing awkwardly silent for a few moments before the hosts rushed in to save her. See for yourself and then send in words of encouragement: hang in there, Susan! This was just a one-time hiccup: Susan Boyle on The View
