Michelle Williams and Jason Segel Break Up

Michelle Williams and Jason Segel have ended their romance of a year. The actors, both 32, quietly broke up earlier this month, sources say. They seemed happy together as recently as January, when they were photographed on vacation in Cancun, but long distance reportedly did them in . The stars kept an extremely low profile throughout their relationship, rarely acknowledging the romance in public or being photographed together on purpose. Segel spoke vaguely about Michelle Williams last April, telling Extra , “I think we would just very much like to be happy. That’s all I’m going to say about it.” We wish them the best in this difficult time.

Oscar Pistorius Plans Private Memorial For Reeva Steenkamp

Oscar Pistorius planned a personal memorial service tonight for Reeva Steenkamp , the 29-year-old model he shot at his home on Valentine’s Day. The evening service would be at the Pretoria home of his uncle Arnold, where the Olympic athlete has been staying since he was released on bail . He is free awaiting trial on a premeditated murder charge. Pistorius’ reputation management firm said he had specifically requested the service “as he remains in deep mourning for the loss of his partner Reeva.” Pistorius says he shot her by accident assuming she was an intruder in his home February 14, and his lawyer her strongly contested the murder claim. “Oscar has asked for a private service with people who share his loss, including his family members who knew and loved Reeva as one of their own,” his rep said. It was unclear exactly what Pistorius’ service would consist of. Exactly a week ago, a memorial was held for Steenkamp in the coast city of Port Elizabeth, where her body was cremated following a private service. That same day, the bail hearing for Pistorius started in the nation’s capital Pretoria, where both sides traded barbs in a preview of his upcoming trial. Prosecutors say the pair had an argument before Steenkamp was killed and allege that Pistorius not only killed her on purpose, but planned it out. His defense attorney vehemently denied those allegations, and Chief Magistrate Desmond Nair set bail for the Olympic sprinter at 1 million rand ($113,000). The 26-year-old double amputee track star was ordered to hand over his passports, turn in all guns he owns and keep away from his home/crime scene. He is not allowed to leave Pretoria or consume drugs or alcohol. Nair himself was in private mourning on Tuesday; he is cousin to a woman suspected of killing her two children and committing suicide on the weekend. Incredibly, Oscar’s brother, Carl Pistorius , is also facing a murder charge at this time… as is Hilton Botha , the lead investigator in Oscar’s case.

Oscar Pistorius: Free on Bail in Murder Case

Oscar Pistorius was awarded bail on Friday after being charged with murdering his girlfriend. He will be free, pending his trial in a few months’ time. The ruling by Magistrate Desmond Nair was cheered by Pistorius’ family and supporters at the Pretoria magistrate’s court; the athlete himself was unmoved. The bail decision followed days of dramatic testimony about how the athlete killed girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his luxury home on Valentine’s Day. Prosecutors said Oscar Pistorius committed murder when he fired four shots into a locked bathroom door, hitting his girlfriend cowering on the other side. Steenkamp, 29, suffered gunshot wounds to her head, hip and arm. Pistorius’ defense team argued the killing was a tragic mistake, saying the athlete had mistaken her for an intruder , a notion police have scoffed at. In any case, his attorneys said he was too famous to pose a flight risk and deserved bail to prepare for a case that has drawn worldwide attention. A judge agreed, and he will be released pending his trial , which is unlikely to start for several months. It is unclear what amount he was required to post. Olympic and Paralympic star Pistorius, a double amputee who runs races on a pair of carbon-fiber blades, faces life in prison if convicted of murder. The shooting and allegations at the bail hearing stunned the millions around the world who saw his track glory as an inspiring tale of triumph over adversity.

Hilton Botha, Oscar Pistorius Case Detective, Charged With Attempted Murder

The Oscar Pistorius case took a strange twist after it was revealed that Hilton Botha, the lead investigator, was charged with seven counts of attempted murder. Prosecutors said they didn’t know Botha faces seven charges of attempted murder in connection with the October 2011 shooting of a minibus in South Africa. Hilton Botha, a 24-year police veteran with 16 years as a detective, is slated to appear in court this May along with two other police officers in the incident. The bus shooting charges were initially dropped in the wake of the incident, but officials said the Director of Public Prosecutions had reinstated the charges. The country’s National Prosecuting Authority said the detective should be taken off the Oscar Pistorius case, but it’s a decision only police can make. The revelation came one day after Botha testified that authorities recovered two boxes of testosterone, along with needles, from Pistorius’ bedroom. This raised speculation that Pistorius was on steroids when he fatally shot girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last week at his home in Pretoria, South Africa. In the bail hearing, Botha testified that contrary to Pistorius’ claims, he knew Steenkamp “was in the bathroom, and he shot four shots through the door.” Pistorius has claimed that he thought she was an intruder when he fired and the whole thing was a tragic accident; police and prosecutors say otherwise. Botha and Pistorius actually crossed paths before in 2009, when the detective investigated accusations of assault against the Olympic track superstar. Pistorius won global acclaim as the first-ever double-amputee runner in Olympic competition last year, holding his own against able-bodied athletes.

Gay Man Confronts Preacher in Subway, Receives Standing Ovation

On Saturday morning, a self-proclaimed “preacher” launched into a tirade aboard a New York City subway car. Not exactly an unusual occurrence for anyone who takes public transit in The Big Apple. But what was unusual about the event was when a gay passenger actually stood up and confronted the noise polluter, screaming back at him: “You teach hate…You are false. You are a false prophet… I’m a gay man and Jesus loves me! Jesus loves me!” Watch now to see both this man’s reaction and that of the onlookers: Gay Man Confronts Preacher

Oscar Pistorius: I Thought Reeva Steenkamp Was an Intruder!

Oscar Pistorius swore in a South African courtroom Tuesday that he believed he was shooting an intruder last week – not girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. As the Olympian’s lawyer read a sworn deposition claiming her death was an accident , prosecutors scoffed, saying he was hell-bent on murdering her. He is charged with doing so in premeditated fashion. Pistorius says he believed an intruder was in his house on Valentine’s Day and he felt vulnerable because he was in bed without his prosthetic legs. That’s why he fired bullets through a bathroom door, killing Reeva Steenkamp , who prosecutors counter was hiding from him and cowering in there. Officials say Pistorius’ motive was simple: “I want to kill.” Prosecutor Gerrie Nel said the Olympian now only knew she was in there, he took the time to put his prosthetic legs on, walk 23 feet, and fire on her. Oscar Pistorius claims he had no idea he was shooting at Steenkamp until he realized she was not in his bed. He said, “It filled me with horror and fear.” He claims he didn’t have his prosthetic legs on when he fired, and only after that point did he put his legs on, walk over to the door and bash it open. The 26-year-old sprinter says he bashed the door open with his cricket bat , discovered Steenkamp mortally wounded and carried her downstairs. “She died in my arms,” he said. Prosecutors claim Pistorius and Steenkamp had just finished a shouting match when she fled and he fired four shots into the bathroom out of rage. What do you think? Are you buying Oscar’s defense?

Oscar Pistorius Nike Ad: "Bullet in the Chamber" Takes on Chilling New Meaning

Oscar Pistorius’ Nike ad during the 2012 London Olympics – part of the athletic giant’s “Weapon” series – declared the sprinter a “bullet in the chamber.” Given the stunning events of this morning, when Pistorius was arrested for murder in South Africa, those words have taken on a chilling new meaning. Early Thursday, South African police arrested the double amputee and Olympic inspiration for the shooting death of his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp . Initial reports indicated that the death was an accident, but police have refrained from definitive statements on the crime; he is due in court tomorrow. Oscar Pistorius’ Nike ad, obviously now in bad taste given the situation, has been pulled by the company. But it begs the broader question in general: Are weaponry and violence too serious to employ metaphorically – and so casually – in sports marketing? Is athletic competition really akin to war? Watch the ad below and see if you think it’s inappropriate, not just in light of Pistorius alleged slaying of Reeva Steenkamp, but as a general idea: Oscar Pistorius Nike “Weapon” Ad

You’ve probably all heard that Oscar “Blade Runner” Olympic freak with no legs Pistorius….from South Africa… who came in last at the last Olympics…instead of first at the SPecial Olympics….who they took out of the Special Olympics for some PR Kick…has killed his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp….by shooting her in his house…. Now, it’s safe to say that when you have no legs, trusting a girl isn’t with you for the exposure, because you know she’s probably not really into amputee sex, and that she is into being seen as the girl who dates amputees for the media, making you hate her just for loving you to begin with……is probably an issue… It is also safe to say that if you’re a girl who is dating an amputee olympic runner, who you have had a volatile relationship with and who has a gun…. Sure South Africa isn’t a safe place….and robber is a good excuse….but she’s dead and he shot her…whether accident or not….and that hero with no legs defying odds profile they did on him at the Olympics won’t fool me…if anything I thought he was cheating with performance enhancing robot equipment…. Here are some of her model pics…RIP….fallen half naked soldier…
