It’s official, folks. Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are a thing. They’re not hooking up; they’re not friends with benefits, they’re dating – and it’s a nightmare for people like us who feel compelled to come up with a catchy nickname for every celebrity couple. (Seleknd? Weelena?! Nothing works!) Selena and The Weeknd (who we’re just gonna start calling by his real name, Abel Tesfaye, because we’re sick of seeing that squiggly red line all over our screen) were spotted on a group date last night, which is interesting for a couple of reasons. First of all, group dates are a sure sign of relationships. If you’re just casually gettin’ it in with someone you don’t introduce them to your friends, unless stringing people along and getting your entire social circle in on the act is, like, your thing. Also interesting is the makeup of the crowd: Yes, as you can see, Jaden Smith and French Montana were along for the star-studded Dave & Buster’s excursion. The conversations between Selena, French, and Jaden must have been pretty interesting. Selena: “My ex-boyfriend is banging Kourtney Kardashian.” French: “Really? I used to go out with Khloe.” Jaden: “Small world! I used to stalk Kylie like it was my job!” *everyone takes one big step away from Jaden* The group didn’t leave the arcade until 3 am, which is sure to bolster rumors about The Weeknd being a bad influence on Selena , but sources say they appeared to be sober and energetic as they strolled through the parking lot. Which is really no surprise. It’s Dave and Buster’s; have you ever had a cocktail there? It’s like someone whispered “shot of vodka” over the rim of a pint glass full of fruit juice. You’d go into diabetic shock before you ever worked up a buzz. Anyway, what’s really important here is that these two are clearly an item. If you watch Teen Mom 2 online you know that its different from other reality shows, in that the behinds-the-scenes crew regularly gets involved in the drama. With the exception of Teen Mom: OG, we don’t know of another reality series in which producers double as characters and regularly interact with the cast on camera. Obviously, this can lead to problems, in the form of both conflict (such as when Farrah Abraham assaulted a producer last year) and accusations of inappropriate friendliness… It’s been over a year since Kailyn Lowry first separated from Javi Marroquin , so it’s not surprising that the 24-year-old is mother of two is ready to move on with a new love interest. And with the amount of time that Kailyn puts into filming, it stands to reason that she would hit it off with one of her on-set co-workers. And since she seems to have a particularly close relationship with one member of the TM2 crew, we suppose it was only a matter of time before fans began to spread the rumor that their relationship is more than just professional. J.C. Cueva is new to the TM2 game, but he and Kailyn reportedly hit it off from their first day of filming together. “I think I have a really good relationship with Kail,” Cueva said in aninterview last month. “I was a new person coming in; her previous field producer had been with her for years and years. I had big shoes to fill, but I think I did a good job. I joke around with her a lot.” He added: “She likes me as a person, but she hates that I have to be a producer sometimes. We get along really great, and I think she respects me.” It’s not hard to see how fans got the impression that there’s something extracurricular going on between Kailyn and J.C. But Kailyn maintains that she and J.C. are friendly co-workers, and nothing more. When fans began bombarding Kailyn with questions about whether she’s dating Cueva (with several adding the hashtag “#IfNotYouShouldBe”) Lowry took her time in replying. Another day, another instance of Jeremy Calvert biting the hand that feeds him. Yep, don’t look now, but Jeremy Calvert is real upset and hurt and angry that MTV edited hours upon hours of footage into a 40 minute show people would want to watch. At this point, Jeremy is turning his Instagram rant sessions into a weekly affair, updating his followers with each and every grievance he has with the show as soon as the new episode airs. “I don’t give a damn,” he’s said about his anti-Teen Mom agenda . “I’m going to do it every Monday.” But he wanted to make sure everyone knew that “I’m not just trying to create drama. If they show something positive on an episode, I’ll say it was positive.” Still, “If there’s something that they air that makes me look like an a–hole, I’ll say that. I’m not going to hide behind a cell phone to protect my ass.” It’s obvious that Jeremy feels very strongly about how he’s being portrayed on the show, which is fair. “I’m not trying to [have people] look past anything I do wrong,” he insisted, “I just want to put the real story out there.” The issue, according to him, is that “When you’re married to [one of the Teen Moms], they make you look good. As soon as you get divorced, MTV makes you look like an a–hole.” And boy, on this week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 , he looked like the biggest a–hole. On the show, Leah told Jeremy that she planned on taking her daughters, including the one she shares with Jeremy, on a vacation to Mexico. Then Jeremy spoke with Corey Simms, Leah’s first ex-husband and the father of her twins, and had some words with him about the trip, which he seemed to be totally unaware of. “Leah is planning on taking the kids to Mexico,” Jeremy told him. “Not New Mexico, motherf-cking Mexico.” He added, “I ain’t really too thrilled about that. I just don’t like Mexico.” So that sounds pretty racist, right? Jeremy straight up said that he dislikes an entire country, and there’s not many possible explanations for why that is. You know, besides racism. And so the Mexico issue is the subject of Jeremy’s latest Instagram rant , which he’s since deleted. His first piece of evidence in his favor is that the timeline is all screwed up, because Corey already knew about the trip. “As already informed a week and a half prior to us filming that scene that he was aware of the whole Mexico trip,” he revealed. “Clearly when I called on camera he was completely caught off guard by the Mexico trip. You can figure that out!” We actually can’t figure that out, these words seem kind of jumbled and placed together in a way that almost makes sense, but not quite. Jeremy Calvert Goes OFF on Teen Mom 2 Editors But we’re pretty sure he’s saying that something’s not right, and he used that to jump to his next point. “MTV did not show the part of the rest of the conversation in regards to the Mexico trip and the reason why I don’t want my child to go there,” he said. “I’m not racist. MTV does some good editing.” So this would be a perfect time to explain why he didn’t want his daughter to go to Mexico, right? He could just clear things right up. But, according to Jeremy, he doesn’t owe anyone any explanations when it comes to how he chooses to raise his daughter. … Except wasn’t this whole pitiful rant an explanation? Hard to believe, but it’s been one year since we first learned that Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna were hooking up . When that grainy black-and-white selfie of Rob’s distinctively-tatted arm holding a boa-like grip around Blac’s neck first went public, many dismissed the relationship as nothing more than a fling. But as former believers in the integrity of American democracy can tell you, a whole can change over the course of 12 months. These days, the long-shot lovebirds have beaten the odds to form a lasting relationship and start a family of their own. Sure, it’s a wildly dysfunctional relationship, the cops have been involved on more than one occasion, and the Rob and Blac seem more focused on their reality show than on each other, but it’s a relationship nonetheless. Despite more breakups than we can count Rob and Blac are engaged these days (we think). They recently welcomed their first child, Dream Kardashian , and it’s been over a month since either of them physically assaulted the other one (we think). The couple officially reached the one-year milestone yesterday, and Rob marked the occasion by assembling montage of the couple’s happy moments (couldn’t have been easy) and posting it on Instagram: Rob Kardashian-Blac Chyna Anniversary Video “1 year down lol woohoooooo happy anniversary babbbbbbiiiiiiiieeeeeee,” Rob captioned the video. Perhaps no one told him that “one year down” is the sort of thing convicts serving lengthy sentences say. In a way, we guess it’s an appropriate sentiment, in that like it or not, Rob and Blac are tied to one another for the rest of their days. In addition to the fact that they have a duaghter together, Chyna and Kardashian’s careers are inextricably intertwined. Their reality show, Rob and Blac, was picked up for a second season , which means they have to pretend to get along (or at least spend time with one another) for at least another six months or so. As for that rumored televised Rob and Blac wedding , it keeps getting pushed back, which should tell us just about everything we need to know about the state of their relationship. At first, they didn’t want to get hitched until Blac lost the pregnancy pounds, but she did that in record time, and there’s still no wedding planning going down.
