Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson said in a new interview with Larry King that he is not the judge when it comes to others, specifically gay people, only God. “I’m not the judge,” Willie said when King asked whether he thought being gay or lesbian was a choice. “Larry, I’m trying to figure that out right now, I really am.” “God’s going to be the judge, so it’s not my job to convince people to change their lives,” the Duck Commander CEO added. “If I just introduce them to Jesus, He’ll do that.” Willie also explained that he did not necessarily agree with the infamous Phil Robertson GQ interview last winter that triggered a national controversy. The younger Robertson’s sentiment follow those he made in March, when he diplomatically said that people have to read the Bible and make up their own minds. “You have to decide and God will ultimately decide that,” he said. “We don’t profess to be God,” Willie added of his family, “and we certainly don’t profess to be perfect at all because we have our own sins that we deal with.” Phil’s interview with GQ set off a firestorm when he stated that homosexual sex was “just not logical” and led to his temporary suspension from Duck Dynasty . “That’s just me,” the Robertson patriarch said. “I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying?” “Hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical. Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine. Don’t deceive yourself … it’s just not right.” Willie won’t throw his dad under the bus, but told King: “Some of the things he said in that interview, I didn’t agree with … I’ve even said so. We love everybody … In this business, there are a lot of people who are gay.” That there are, and while there’s little doubt where Willie stands in his personal beliefs, he certainly puts forth a more measured approach than his father.
